It's about time I got back to this story, isn't it? Here we go, chapter 10.
Chapter 10
Town of Beginnings
Kirito and Asuna decided to bring Yui back to the Town of Beginnings to see if they couldn't find her real parents. Once they got there, they took her to the building where the children who were playing SAO were kept. But on their way, they walked past an alleyway from which they could hear crying.
When they walked down, they could see a young woman with several children being harassed by a few members of the Army, the same group who kinda helped with the Gleam Eyes.
"Come on, woman, you know that you and these kids owe the Army taxes, and those weapons and armor look like they fit the bill."
After he said that, his comrades started snickering. Kirito couldn't believe it. Are these guys really trying to tax women and children? Despicable.
"No! They are they only weapons they have, and they can't afford new ones! Leaving the town without them is suicide in SAO!"
Asuna gritted her teeth. "Kirito, take Yui. I'll take care of this."
He did as she said and took the sleeping girl. Shortly after he did, he ran past the soldiers and positioned himself between them and the children. Asuna followed him, then drew her Lambent Light, aiming it at the chest of the nearest soldier.
"Leave these kids alone, or you're dealing with us."
The guard smiled. "Heh, we're in a town, which last time I checked, counts as a safe zone. In other words..."
He stepped up to Asuna before finishing his sentence.
"You can't touch me."
Next thing he knew, he was flying at least twenty feet back thanks to a simple thrust from Asuna.
"Safe zone or not, a fight with me is going to scare the crap out of you. That's why I'm called the Lightning Flash."
She had walked up to him while she spoke, then began to assault him with a flurry of blows that knocked him back even further, ramming him into a wall with the usual 'immortal object' marker appearing on in, showing that he had hit the wall pretty hard.
"Now get out of here, before I take you outside this safe zone," she said while sporting a cold look. It looks like she learned something from Link as well.
The man nodded violently before he and his men left. Kirito smiled. It's a good thing she's on my side.
"The hell was that?"
OOO
Sebastian smiled as he finished off the last Lizalfos.
"Silly creatures. I'm seriously surprised that their AI doesn't make them run from people with insane equipment. So Link, was that good?"
Link nodded to his heavily armored companion. "Yep. But good point. Other players do try to avoid someone with high level equipment, unless they are very skilled."
"Yeah, but not much can get through this armor. Your Master Sword is one of the only things."
Link nodded. "Indeed."
Sebastian smiled and sheathed the massive hunk of data he called a sword. His joy was cut short, however, as his stomach began rumbling. He swiped his hand down and opened his menu, but frowned when he saw that he was out of food.
"Damn. I'm outta food. Hey Link, you got anything?"
He dodged the punch from Link. "MY food. MINE."
Sebastian face-palmed at his general's antics. However such a man got such a high-ranked position was beyond him, other than the fact that he was really good with a sword.
"Well, I'm going to head to the Town of Beginnings. Oddly enough, that's where I can get my favorite food. Until then, General."
He gave Link a simple military salute, and waited until Link gave him the order.
"Dismissed."
Sebastian relaxed and grabbed a warp crystal set for the Town of Beginnings, which he conveniently had on him all of the time. After he warped, he headed to the place where they sold his favorite food. On they way, however, he thought he heard crying. He thought it was just a quest CPU that hadn't been activated. Soon, however, as it was getting louder, he heard screaming.
But... Quest CPU's don't change! Something's going on!
He ran as fast as he could, which was surprising considering the massive amount of armor he was in, to where he heard the screaming, which turned out to be an alleyway. He was about to turn down the alley, when a man flew out and rammed into the wall, due to what appeared to be a sword skill.
"The hell was that?"
OOO
Kirito and Asuna turned to see the new arrival. He was a man in very heavy black armor that Kirito remembered comes from a Darknut. He had a huge sword that was typical for them, with a matching shield. He was taller than most people he knew, and that was saying something. Asuna turned her sword on him and charged, pumped up on adrenaline. What she didn't expect was for her to just bounce of the armor plates.
"Hey! What are you attacking me for?! I didn't do anything!"
Asuna's adrenaline subsided, an she could identify that this guy wasn't in the Army.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! It was an accident, I swear!"
The man waved her off. "Don't worry about it. It's not like anything would happen. This armor is borderline invincible, and my general has one of the only weapons capable of getting through it."
Kirito walked over, Yui still sleeping peacefully. "What's your General's name?"
"Link. Guy's not the brightest, but he's insane with a sword."
"Wait, Link is your general? Wait... Now I remember! He's Zelda's right-hand man."
The man's eyes, which were just barely visible from his opened visor, widened. "Y-you've met the general?! He is rarely seen by anyone in the Hylian Guard, let alone outsiders!"
"Yeah. I met him up in the forests of floor 74. He's a nice guy, but like you said, not the brightest."
The man smiled and started undoing the straps on his helmet. He lifted up th heavy guard over his mouth, freeing his chin, and allowing him to slide the whole piece off. He had brown hair held up by a black headband with a diagonal white stripe on the side. His eyes were a soft blue, and he had a small smile. His face simply didn't match his armor. The armor was threatening, while his face was warm and welcoming.
"I'm Sebastian," he said while holding out his hand. Kirito took it, and was impressed by his grip.
"I'm Kirito."
Well, Sebastian's made his way in! And he wears the armor from the Darknut Miniboss from Twilight Princess, the one from the Temple of Time, as well as the same sword. His shield, however, is the same as the other Darknuts, bu black instead of silver. Until next time, OniHelix out!
