"Come on in, I just started prepping up the lasagna," Owen said.

Cristina smiled and walked inside, tugging on Evan's hand to lead him. He was a bit shy, not knowing where he was. At least knowing he was with his mom and that the man was his friend made him feel safe.

Crissa frowned as she saw the little boy, who also happened to look a lot like her father. She stayed quiet though and decided to start her question about the mysterious boy later. Cristina and Evan went to sit on the couch and Owen went to bring them some hot coffee since it was so cold outside.

Crissa, happily, went and sit next to Cristina and hugged her tight. Cristina hugged her back, kissing the top of her head, smiling. "I really missed you," Crissa said.

Evan frowned and leaned forward looking at the other kid who was sitting at the opposite side of his mom. He really didn't know why this girl was hugging his mom like that. He glared at the girl.

Crissa who had noticed the boy's glare frowned too. "Cristina," she said looking up at her, "Who's this boy?"

Cristina looked down at the girl and only then did she realize that Crissa didn't know about Evan. Not that she didn't want her to know. Whenever she and Owen would talk on Skype only one of the kids were present, the other either asleep or someplace else. It never had accrued to Cristina to mention Evan to Crissa either. "Uh, he is Evan," she said turning to look at Evan and noticed his knitted brows. "Hey, Evan, don't glare at her like that. She is Crissa. Remember I told you about her yesterday? She's very nice."

Evan's eyebrows softened as he listened intently to his mom. "Okay," he said. He stared at the little girl who happened to look just so much like his mom and extended his hand. "I am Evan," he said. He always were a gentleman. That was one thing Cristina had made sure he would be.

Crissa pursed her lips and then gave the little boy's hand a light shake. "I am Crissa," she said and quickly turned back to Cristina. "But who is he?"

Cristina didn't know how Crissa would react to the news that she had a child, but she'd find out anyways and she had to be okay with it. "He's my son," Cristina said.

Crissa's eyes went wide and her jaw dropped, but before she could say anything Owen came back to the living room with two cups of coffee and two cups of hot chocolate. "Hope Evan likes chocolate because, well, Crissa does, so much," he said, smiling but then it faded when he saw his daughter's dropped jaw. He placed the tray of drinks on the coffee table and looked at Cristina questioningly.

"You have a son?!" Crissa finally let out.

Cristina raised her eyebrows knowingly at Owen and he nodded. "She does, Crissa. Evan," he said as he sat on the armchair next to the couch.

Crissa's face was about to fall, but she controlled herself. She couldn't believe it though. She had so much plans. She had so much plans to rekindle the relationship between Cristina and her father and now comes Cristina with a son. What? She thought. What what what what? She felt like crying at that very moment. How on earth was she gonna make her plans work when Cristina has a son. Little did she know, though, that Cristina having a son and actually wanting kids was the key to her plans.

She controlled herself though and nodded. "Oh," she said quietly because had her voice been a bit louder she would've burst out crying.

Cristina frowned slightly and looked at Owen. Owen sighed and shrugged in response. "So… drinks? You two are red from the cold," he said as he pointed to the tray.

Everyone nodded. Cristina reached out and picked up Evan's mug of chocolate and helped him first. Crissa observed Cristina mothering Evan and then looked away, concentrating on her own chocolate.

When Cristina was done with Evan's chocolate, she wiped his mouth clean and picked up her own cup of coffee which was of course rather cold. Owen noticed it and got up immediately. "I'll heat it up," he said and grabbed the cup and disappeared into the kitchen.

Once her dad was away, Crissa got up. "I should go to the bathroom," she said quickly and disappeared into the bathroom.

Cristina looked down at Evan and raised her brows, shrugging. Evan was too busy chewing on the walnuts cookie to notice his mom though.

Finally came the time for dinner to be served. The smell of Owen-made lasagna, so nostalgic, had spread in the house. Cristina still remembered those nights when she'd step into the firehouse and the smell of lasagna were everywhere. Those were good times, amazing ones. Enchanted by the smell, everyone went to sit at the dining table. Owen, always a gentleman pulled out a chair for Cristina and then one for Crissa. At last, after having put Evan on a chair next to his mother he sat on his own chair. "Thank you so much Cristina and Evan for joining us tonight," Owen said smiling at them and Cristina smiled back. "You're very welcome," she said.

"So, let's dig in," Owen said. As he was placing a piece of the food in Crissa's plate, Cristina put one in Evan's. They both ate their food delightfully while they'd help their kids with it every now and then.

It was a pleasant dinner full of chatter and laughter which warmed Owen's heart that after all those years he could be all comfortable around Cristina. It felt like all those old days, with the difference that now two more people had joined them.

Though there was one person out of these four that was strangely quiet. Crissa. She was lost in thoughts as to how she could work out her plans now with the presence of Evan. Both Owen and Cristina had noticed her silence and had exchange questioning looks with each other. Owen made it a point to talk to her later on.

Cristina pushed away her empty plate and after wiping off her mouth, leaned back against her chair. "Thanks so much, Owen, I couldn't stop myself from eating," she said. She had not eaten any lasagna as perfect as his as she said earlier. He could definitely open a restaurant and just serve lasagna.

"I'm glad you liked it," Owen said.

"I loved it," Evan said smiling hugely.

"I'm glad Mister," Owen said, winking at him. "I see his English has improved."

"Yeah, I've been working with him for a while, but he still will need the aid of kindergarten."

After dessert and some more chatting about this and that, Cristina finally decided it was time for them to go. She helped Evan into his coat and wore her own and let Owen lead them to the door. "It was a pleasant night, Owen, thanks a lot," she said smiling.

"Thank you for coming over here. Crissa and I were very please, right?" he said as he looked down at his daughter. She nodded slowly.

"Okay, so… see you both tomorrow," Cristina said and placed her hand on the door knob. Then she leaned down and kissed Crissa on the cheek, who kissed back. She then stood up and was faced with Owen, not knowing what to do exactly.

Owen knew though, so he leaned down and gave her a light kiss on the cheek. She smiled at him. "Goodbye," she said and turned the knob, stepping out and walking towards her car.

Owen watched her leave and finally walked back inside. Once inside, he noticed Crissa had sat on the couch, busying herself with a magazine. "Crissa?" he called her and went to sit next to her. "What's up?" he asked, stroking her curls.

"Just reading this article about a new Disney movie," she said not looking up from the magazine.

Owen sighed. "Why were you so quiet tonight? I thought you'd be excited to see Cristina."

She looked up at him. "I was… just the over-excitement left me speechless."

Owen chuckled, shaking his head. She always had an answer to give. "Seriously though, what was the matter?"

She sighed and put the magazine aside. "I was just a bit shocked to find out Cristina had a son… I never saw that coming."

Of course… he thought. "That's all?"

"Yup," she said, giving him a big smile. "I think I better go to bed now." With that she got off the couch and went to the bathroom, leaving Owen there to sigh.
