I am so deeply, deeply, deeply sorry for this long delay. Things had been crazy and I really didn't have time. And when I did, I had zero creativity. I'm so so so so sorry for the late update. But thank you for your continuous reviews, follows, faves, and support. I really appreciate it.

Please enjoy this new chapter.

Alex parked the car in his spot in the hospital's parking lot. Cristina, Evan, Alex, and Jo all got out of the car and started walking to the entrance. They parted ways so Alex and Jo would go to the attendings' longue –Jo was a fellow- and Cristina would drop Evan off at the daycare center.

As Cristina stepped into the daycare, she heard her name being called and turned around only to see Meredith with her daughter and son. "Oh, hi," she said, smiling. "Zola, Bailey," she said as she ran a hand on Zola's head and ruffled Bailey's head.

Evan looked at the older kids and waved at them shyly.

"Oh you must be Evan," Meredith said, a big smile on her lips, and leaned down, looking at the little boy. "I am Meredith."

Evan hid behind his mom's leg and looked up at her. Cristina smiled and kneeled down. "She's mom's friend, Evan," she told him and looked at Meredith. "And those are her kids. Remember Bailey I was talking to you about?" She motioned to Zola and Bailey who stepped closer and smiled kindly at the little one.

"Aunt Cristina, you have a son?" Zola asked, a bit surprised.

Cristina looked up and smiled. "Yes, Evan. I am sure you two will take care of him and introduce him to some of your friends, right?"

Zola nodded, smiling. "Yes, I'll introduce him to Sofia and Crissa," she said.

And just then Owen and Crissa could be heard approaching the daycare. Crissa's big smile faded when she saw Evan again, her expression turned to a sad one.

"There she is," Zola said.

Owen's smile, though, got even bigger when he saw them. "Hey," he said ruffling Evan's hair who smiled up at him. Evan looked at Crissa and waved at her too, smiling and Crissa smiled back slightly.

"I have to go soon, will see you all soon," he said as he ran a hand on Crissa's head before walking away. Meredith and Cristina took their kids into the daycare along with Crissa. School hasn't started yet so Zola would stay at the daycare too or would go and hang out with her parents or their friends.

"He's such a sweetheart," Meredith said to Cristina when they exited the daycare.

Cristina smiled, nodding. "Isn't he."

Meredith smiled too. "He also looks a lot like Owen," she mentioned, raising her eyebrows.

"Doesn't Crissa look like me?" she asked, giving her a knowing look.

"Right," Meredith nodded, grinning. "So I'll see you later, bye for now," she said and walked away.

Cristina nodded and she, too, walked away. At least the bitter conversation she had with Meredith the other day hadn't affected the way of their talking to each other so much.

Meredith flopped on the chair and placed her tray on the table, ready to eat her lunch. She was alone at the table as almost all of her lunch partners were busy at that moment. She grabbed her buffalo wing, but before she could place it in her mouth a head of back curls appeared in front of her and sat down.

"Crissa," Meredith started, tilting her head at her, "can't you stay in the daycare for one day?"

Crissa shook her head solely. "It's boring. Plus if Zola and Sofia can observe a surgery today, I can wander around the hospital."

Meredith sighed, shaking her head and looking down, but then paused and looked back up at Crissa, frowning. "Zola and Sofia what?!"

Crissa looked up at her aunt and gulped. "I… thought… you knew…" she took a breath to calm herself down. "You know… a video of a s-… surgery… in fact."

Meredith narrowed her eyes and pursed her lips knowingly. "Uh-huh."

Crissa nodded, smiling hugely, making sure Meredith had believed her.

Meredith shook her head. "Anyways. Why you look so down?"

"I don't," Crissa quickly answered and beamed.

"What's up?" Meredith asked again.

Crissa looked down with a curl of her lip and looked back up at her. "I kind of had some plans and now they're kind of ruined because of Ev-… things," she said.

Meredith frowned. This little girl always had some secret plans going on. She had also caught her saying Cristina's son's name, almost, and she kind of had sensed something in the morning when she witnessed Crissa greeting the little boy. "What kind of plans that could get ruined because Evan?"

Crissa looked up sharply. "Uh… no… Evan… no! I didn't say Ev-… I…" she paused and sighed. "Fine," she said and looked down again. "It's because of Evan. But I can't tell you what plans. They're ruined anyways."

"But maybe I can help, you know, fix it," Meredith said. She didn't know why but she really was curious to know what plans Crissa had in mind.

Crissa shook her head. "Nope, you can't. Just forget it, Aunt Meredith. What kind of important plans can a six-year-old have? Don't take me so seriously," she said and then stood up. "I'll go back to the daycare to play with Bailey and Ev-… Evan. See you later," she continued and then walked away.

Meredith just stared at her. She didn't know if she had to be worried about Crissa or just, as she told her, not take care so seriously. She shook her head and went back to her buffalo wing.

A week passed and with every passing day, Cristina was more and more satisfied with her choice of coming back. Life was good. She had recently found an appropriate apartment and was about move into it in soon. Evan had also gotten used to the daycare and had made good friends. His English was also improving day by day. But there was still one thing that was as the same as last week and that was Crissa's behavior. Not that she was rude or anything, she was as good and lovely as always, but sometimes she behaved a bit strangely, especially in the presence of Evan. Cristina made it a point to talk to Owen about it once.

Cristina put on her coat and grabbed her bag and was ready to exit the lounge when Owen opened the door and walked in. He looked at her and smiled, curiously though. "Leaving so soon?" he questioned.

"Uh, yeah, I took a couple of hours off. I've found this apartment and I'm just going to transfer my boxes and stuff to there."

"Oh, so you finally found a fine place," he said and just stared at her for a moment. "Well, you need some help? I don't have anything scheduled until night. I could come with you."

"There aren't so many boxes, I can do it myself, but… if you want it's more than okay."

"Okay," he said, smiling.

"Yeah," she replied, smiling as well. "So let's go."

Cristina took out the keys to her new apartment and turned it in the keyhole. Opening the door, she heard footsteps and turned around only to see Owen coming up the stairs with four boxes in his hand. "Oh my… Owen, take it easy," she said and came forward taking some of the boxes from him and taking them inside. "I know you're such a superhero, you don't need to prove it."

He walked inside and placed the boxes on the floor and just smirked, not able to do anything else because he was short of breath. And Cristina just stared at him until he caught his breath back. "This time just two boxes," she said and walked out of the apartment to pick some boxes.

"Yes ma'am," Owen said following her. He took, as he was told, only two boxes and walked all the stairs back up. "Thank God, you're on first floor," he said, placing the boxes down. "Doesn't this place have an elevator?"

Cristina placed her own boxes down and then sat on the floor. "It's broken. Someone will come here to fix tomorrow, hopefully," she said and then reached out and picked up a flaks. "Some water?" she asked.

"There's no one down there watching other boxes. Later," he said and went to bring the last boxes. She took a gulp of the water and waited for him to come back.

He came back and put the last boxes on the floor along with a suitcase and then closed the door behind him. "Now," he said, breathless and reached out for the flask.

"Sit down," she told him and he did. "It's such a nice apartment," he commented, finally having the chance to take a look at it.

"It was so hard to choose one that was appropriate for a mother and a son. But I finally found this."

"So you need help unpacking?"

She looked up at him. "Well… if you don't help me I may not unpack anything until it's time to move out of here."

He laughed. "You know except for some parts, you have not changed at all."

She smiled. "Except for what parts?"

He shrugged. "Many parts. Like..." he paused, not going further. "Some parts."

She bit her lower lip and looked at him "Like the fact that I have a kid?" she asked.

He stared at her for a moment and then nodded slowly. "Yeah… I still, sometimes, can't believe you changed your mind."

She nodded, looking down. "I don't either."

"How?"

She looked at him. "What?"

"How you changed your mind?"

She fell silent, looking down. "I… I don't know. I just met a little boy and he smiled at me and he was… my son. I don't know. I just woke up one day and I wanted him, more anything… anything."

"But you couldn't have woken up one day and want my… never mind," he said, shaking his head.

She looked back up at him, seeing the old pain in his eyes. "There haven't been a day, after actually changing my mind, that I haven't felt bad about not having that baby… Ever since I realized how miraculous it feels to be a mother, I've hated myself for throwing it all away that day… How different our lives would've been. But sometimes I don't regret it. Sometimes when I see Evan's smile, or even Crissa's, I remember that if I had changed my mind then… there wouldn't be a Crissa or an Evan in our lives. Maybe it… was… destiny. I know it may be funny to hear me talking about destiny, but…. You say I've changed."

Owen sighed and leaned backward, lying on the ground. "You're right… our lives would've been so different… we would've been together, though, happy, without experiencing any of those pains… but we wouldn't have Evan and Crissa…"

She looked down at him and lay down too, staring at him. "Maybe we could… again…" she started but then shook her head.

"What?" he asked. "Again what?"

She shook her head again. "Do you want to have dinner with me?"

"Dinner?"

"Would you?"

Owen smiled weakly. "That'd be an honor."

She gave him one of those soft smiles that always took his breath away. "So let's unpack. Then I'll invite you for dinner, here."

"Okay."

She smiled more. "Okay."

Hope you enjoyed. And if it sucks, I'm sorry. Told you about the writers' block :\
