Again, sorry for the delayed update. I know I keep saying that the next chapter will be posted sooner, but things at school are crazy and I really can't manage to do so many things at the same time. Plus so much studying turns off my creativity and ability to write sometimes… sometimes.

Anyways, thank you so much for all of the continuous support you give me with all the views, reviews, faves and follows. Thank you.

Please enjoy the twenty fourth chapter!

Red or blue, or maybe gray, or the red one with black dots. Owen sighed as he stared at all the ties he had put on his bed. Dressing up had never been a problem for him, he'd just throw on a suit and a tie, that's it. He would take some time to match things together, but at this very night, it was taking a bit more time than usual.

He had to turn away from the ties, though, when he heard a soft knock on the door. "Come on in," he said and saw a yawning little girl open the door and walk in. "Good morning," she said with half-open eyes.

"Morning, sunshine," he said smiling brightly. "Go wash your face so we can eat some breakfast."

Crissa just stared at Owen, her brain taking time to process her dad's words as she was still a bit sleep. When her brain was done loading the information, she nodded and turned to walk out of the door, but stopped, frowned and looked at the collection of ties on the bed. She reached up and rubbed her eyes gently so she could open her eyes a bit wider. "Are you gonna donate them to charity or something?" she asked, tilting her head, not knowing what his dad had to do with all of his ties at the same time.

"Uh… no, not charity… I'm just deciding on which one to wear," he explained.

Crissa tilted her head. "But you never wear any of those at works. You usually just wear those checkered blue ones, or gray ones. Those fancy ones are for Christmas or, somebody's wedding or something."

Owen listened to his daughter talk and an amused smile formed his lips. "H-how do you know all that?"

She shrugged. "I just pay enough attention to my daddy's clothes," she said, solely.

Owen nodded, the amused smile still on his lips. "Ok," he said, nodding again. "You're right. I never wear those at work and I am not going to either. I'm just gonna choose one so I can take it with me to work, along with a suit, for the night."

Crissa frowned again. "What's gonna happen at night?"

"At night… you're going to go to Aunt Meredith's and I'm going on a date."

Alarmed, Crissa untitled her head, with her eyebrows knitted "A what?!"

Owen frowned. "Why should that be such a surprise for you? Do you think your father's too old to date?"

"Uh… no, of-of course not. You're still too young and handsome and all, but… just…" She paused to witness all her plans to have Cristina and her father back together get ruined in front of her eyes and then continued. "With who?"

"With… who," Owen said. "Her name is…" Owen knew, very well, that it was Crissa's dream to see him and Cristina together. Cristina had once told him that Crissa had even asked her if she wanted to date him. So Owen decided to tease her a bit, but then decided to stop because he couldn't bear seeing more and more sadness in her little eyes. "I have a date with Cristina."

Crissa gasped, her eyes going wide. "What?!"

Owen smiled. "I said I have a date with Cristina."

Crissa just stared at her father, jaw dropped and eyes wide open. Then slowly the corners of her lips started to turn upward as her brain was processing the piece of news thoroughly. Once the received data was eventually loaded, she screamed and started dancing around the room.

Owen laughed, happy to see her happy. "Hey, hey, hey," he said as he caught her before she could dance more. "So, now, will you help me pick the perfect tie?"

Crissa's face lit up again. "Yes!" she screamed and struggled out of her dad's arms to start dancing again.

"I will buy your coffee for the whole day… yo-you even get to scrub in with me with that badass surgery I'm having next week. It should be an honor for you to assist such a surgery with a two-time Harper Avery winner. Just please, for one night. I promise I'll find another sitter next time. Please," Cristina pleaded with Alex, as they were walking together in hallway of the hospital.

Alex gave her a sideway look and shook his head. "Nope," he said solely, trying hard to keep a straight.

"What? Alex, please. W-which part of my offer doesn't satisfy you?"

Alex stopped walking and turned to look at her. "Well…" he started, tilting his head. "Just coffee…?"

Cristina stared at him, looking like a question mark. "Uh…?"

Alex shook his head in mock disappointment. "I thought you would've been generous enough to buy muffins too."

Cristina's questioning looked turned into an angry one. "Is that your only problem?"

Alex smirked. "Well I would starve with only coffee, that isn't problem enough?"

"Fine! Muffins too," she said, rolling her eyes. "What time are you going home?"

"6," he replied.

"So just wait at the lobby for Evan and I, okay?"

"Okay," he said and started walking again. "In addition to bonus muffins, tell me why I should babysit him till tomorrow morning at all?"

"None of your business."

"Hey I kept your secrets for five years," Alex said, nudging her with his elbow, gently.

She screwed her face at the nudge, but then smiled. "I have a dinner date at my place," she said.

"Trying to win your man back?"

Cristina gave him a sideway look. "Didn't say who it was."

"But it's Hunt anyways," he said and the smirked, adding, "And you also want me to keep Evan till morning."

She smiled, shrugging. "I will be just so tired to take care of him at night after the dinner, doesn't mean I'll be occupied till morning."

"Yeah, you say that," he said, smirking more. "So… I feel like coffee now, Yang."

Cristina rolled her eyes. "… with muffin, huh? Fine, let's hit the cafeteria."

"Yup, let us!"

Owen handed Crissa' overnight bag to Meredith and looked down at the little girl. "So just be a good girl, okay? I'll come to pick you up in the morning."

"Okay, daddy. You've already said that for ten times," Crissa said, nodding. "So have fun."

"Thank you," Owen said, smiling and bent down to kiss the top of his daughter's head. "Thank you, Mer, for taking her. I would've asked my mom, but she's out of the city."

"Hey, any time," Meredith said, beaming at him. "You have a good night with Cristina," she added and winked at him. "So let's get going, guys." She said grabbing Crissa's and Bailey's hands while Derek took Zola's and together the five of them walked to their car

Owen turned on his heels and walk to his own car. He started the engine and got out of the parking lot towards the nearest and the best shopping center he knew. He could've gone to a date without getting a gift, he had to be a complete gentleman.

He parked at the mall's parking lot and went inside the building. He looked around, not having an idea what he wanted to get her though. He took a look at the map of the mall and decided to hit the jeweler's first to see if something would attract his attention, something suitable for a woman like Cristina.

He looked at a few bracelets, some earrings. He saw the tray of rings but passed it by, figuring it was still too soon to buy a ring for her. He might get her one, he knew, and a special one, but not then. He looked over at some pendants and only then did something attract his attention.

"Hey can I see that?" he asked. "Of course," the seller said, smiling.

Owen took a careful look at the pendant and smiled. "I think I'll get this one with a matching chain. You accept credit cards?"

"Sure," she said and took the pendant to put it in a box. "I'm sure she'll love it," she said, beaming at him, as she gave the velvety box to him after reducing the price from his credit card.

"I hope so," he replied and got the box, tucking it in the pocket of his jacket and then went to the next store. He bought a bouquet of red roses for her there and then went back to his car.

Cristina took one last glance at the table she'd set and gave herself an approving nod. It wasn't all that bad, not perfect, because she wasn't so good at these kind of stuffs, but nice enough. She went and took the food out of the microwave and placed it on the table and lit the candles and then sat down, waiting for the doorbell to ring. She felt so good, to be there, staring at the light of the candle and waiting for her date. And not just any date, but Owen. The man she never could fall out of love with, even though she wouldn't admit it to everyone. Though everyone, actually, did know. Whenever they were at the same place together, everyone seemed to feel the love they had for each other in their eyes and the way they looked at each other, the way they'd make each other smile genuinely.

She took a breath in, smiled satisfiedly, and then let it out. Just then the bell rang and she almost jumped, almost causing her whole set table to get destroyed. She looked at the table, making sure nothing had changed by her sudden movement and walked to the door. She opened it and saw Owen there, smiling, with a bouquet of red flowers.

Owen's breath seemed to have been caught in his throat. Whether in scrubs, casual clothes, or formal ones she always would take his breath away. Her black dress fit her perfectly. Her curly hair were splashed around her shoulders. With the smell of her French perfume and her full red lips, smirking at him, he would've collapsed right there and then.

She smiled widely at him. "Hey," she said, her breath barely there to help her speak louder. He was just as handsome as ever in his dark grey suit and dark red tie. But most of all, his smiling eyes were sucking the breath out of her lungs completely. "Come on in," she added and stepped aside, letting him inside.

And he did walk in, handing the bouquet to her. "Flowers for you. Hope you like them. They're, of course, not as beautiful as their receiver."

She smiled gently, grabbing the flowers. "Thank you," she said, softly and went to her kitchen in search of a vase or something to put the flowers in. She finally picked up a clean mug and put them in it, placing in it on the counter. "So, the food has just arrived. What about we start eating first?"

Owen nodded. "Yes, sounds good."

"Oh my God, really?" Cristina asked, ready to burst into laughter.

"Believe me. I thought I was the happiest to have this date with you until I saw Crissa scream and dance like that."

"Oh," she said, wiping her mouth with a napkin. "I'm so happy she's so happy about this."

Owen nodded. "Yeah, and I think she'll stop being so quiet around you and especially Evan."

Cristina looked up at him, taking a sip of her wine. "What?"

"I figured… you know, I was thinking about it last night. Ever since Crissa's learned about Evan, she's been too quiet. Especially when she's with you and Evan's there too. I figured that maybe she was sad to find out you have a son…"

Cristina frowned. "But why would she be?"

"She asked you once if you wanted to date me, right? So I figured she'd been planning to kinda have us date, but then she found out you have a son and she might've thought Evan would be in the way of her plans."

"Oh," Cristina said, looking down. "Little does she know that me having a son actually… you know… smoothens our way b-… back together."

Owen stared at her. "You… think that there's even a way?"

She looked down and then back at him. "W-well… do you… not?"

Owen inhaled, staring into her eyes. "With all my heart. All the time."

Cristina stared back into his ocean blue eyes and a small, gentle smile formed her lips. "I… want one to be there…"

Owen smiled back, giving her one of his very own loving looks. He then looked down at his food and put the last piece in his mouth, along with the last sip of his wine. He looked up at her and then smiled widely after some moments. "Thank you, Cristina, it was amazing food," he said, smiling appreciatively.

"You're welcome. I did nothing though, just ordered some food," she said as she, too, set down her empty wine glass down.

He then stood up. "And I have a gift for you," he said reaching inside his pocked and took the box out.

"Oh… you d-din't have to."

"But I wanted to," he said and then grabbed her hand, helping her get up and then handed her the box.

She got the box while staring into his eyes and then looked down at it, opening it. She gasped. "Oh my… it's very beautiful. Very, very beautiful," she said and looked up at him. "Thank you. Would you?" she said motioning to him to put the chain around her neck.

"Of course," he said and picked up the chain and went behind her. She held her hair up to give him better access, but instead, just made his hand go shaky because his breath was once again taken away.

He managed to clasp the chain finally, though and made her turn around to look at the pendant sparkling on her chest. "It really fits you."

"Thank you," she said again and gave him one her very famous breathtaking smiles. She looked down at her chest and caressed the figure of the icicle on her chest. "An icicle."

"Yeah, an icicle."

She looked into his eyes and smiled once more.

"So…" Owen started after some silence. "I better get going."

Cristina stared at him for a second and nodded reluctantly. "Oh… alright," she said. She really didn't want their night to end, though.

He, accompanied by her, walked to the door of her apartment. "It was a lovely night, thank you," he said, smiling down at her.

She smiled back. "It was," she said, nodding. They just stared into each other's eyes neither of them willing to say goodbye. Owen, though, had to say it anyways. So he said it and leaned down to kiss her cheek, but by accident… or not… his lips landed a bit lower and touched the corner of her lips... more than the corner. He stopped, so did she, his lips still attached to her face.

Not even realizing how, or when, Cristina found her hand going to rest on the back of his neck and her head was pulling away only to land back on his lips, fully this time. She ran her hand through the bottom of his hair and kissed him once, then twice.

Owen didn't pull away, instead, placed his own hand on her neck, behind her ear and kissed her back. Those lips. Those soft, full lips. He hadn't realized how much he'd missed kissing them until that very moment.

As if someone had started fire inside her, Cristina was starting to sweat all over her body. She placed her other hand on the other side of his neck and pulled him as close as physically possible, kissing his soft, sweet lips as if she hadn't done so in years. Well, in fact, she really hadn't. She'd been away for 5 years and they'd been apart for 6. Six years wasn't something she ever thought she could spend without kissing him at least once a day. She didn't spend it really easily though. It was a physical and mental torture for her. Especially those night when her eyes would jerk open in the middle of the night and all she could feel was his lips on hers because she had been dreaming about them.

They finally pulled away, both breathless, staring into each other's eyes deeply. Cristina finally caught enough breath to say something and opened her mouth. "D-…" she closed it, a bit hesitant as to say it or not. One swallow wouldn't make a summer and one kiss –well a very deep and passionate one, to be honest- wouldn't mean everything was okay now, even though they'd said they wanted a way to exist there for them to go back together. But she thought she could at least try. "Do you still want to go?" She asked, biting on her bottom lip, staring deeply into the ocean of his blue eyes, her breath tickling his lips.

"W-what?" he questioned, his hand still attached to her sweaty neck.

"You still want to leave?" she repeated her question and waited for his answer patiently.
