"Owen," she called his name, looking at him incredulously. "Owen?"
He was just staring at her, dazed. "Uh…"
"Owen, are you proposin-…" she said but was cut short as a breathless waiter rushed towards their table.
"Excuse me, excuse me," he said breathlessly. "I'm so sorry, that glass of champagne is not yours. I should take it to another table. I'm so sorry," he said, grabbing the glass and checked inside it to make sure the ring was still there and then walked away.
"No," Owen finally said. "I'm not."
Cristina was still processing the whole thing. She looked back at Owen, her eyebrows still knitted with confusion and shock, but then breathed a sigh of relief. "Okay," she said, nodding and smiled awkwardly. She decided to go back to her food.
Owen nodded and looked down at his own food. He grabbed his fork, but then put it back down. "Would that be too horrible though…?" he asked looking at her, frowning slightly.
Cristina looked up at him with a full mouth. "Hm?" she murmured through her full mouth.
"If that ring was mine, if I really was asking you to marry me, would it be too horrible? Because your reaction was showing so."
Cristina stopped chewing and just stared at him. She sighed through her nose and sent the food down with a large gulp of water and sighed again. "I… don't know…" she said and leaned back against the chair. "I just… I didn't think about it… it was just a reaction, you don't always think about it… It was a shock and if it really was yours… I don't know. Owen, we… we are barely back together… it's too soon and we don't want to start hurting each other again. I never expected that, that's why I was too shocked."
Owen nodded and took a sip of his own water and went back to his food. They were both silent as they ate their food, which wasn't a comforting silence, but an awkward one after an awkward incident.
"But…" Owen started after he sent the last bite of his food down with a gulp of water and looked at her. "Why? Why is too soon?"
"Owen…" she sighed again and pushed her empty dish away. "Can we not talk about it now and enjoy this date?"
"No…" he mumbled and shook his head. "I want to talk about it. And that's the point, we're on a date that means we're together… I mean, this time it's different."
She sighed and leaned against the chair, staring at him as he struggled with his words.
"I… I love you," he let out and looked at her with his puppy blue eyes.
Cristina's eyes, on the other hand, went wide.
"Look! You're shocked. Why? You know I love you. Yeah, it may have been a very, very long time since the last time I said this out loud, but it doesn't mean that this love is any less fiery. I love you. And we're back together. And this time is different, because… because we're okay. We don't have any problem anymore. There's no barrier on our way.
We never had a problem except for the baby thing and now… isn't it solved? We're finally on the same page. We both not only want to have children, but we also actually do have them. That was the only problem we had and now we don't anymore.
We're back together and we're on the same page and we don't have a problem and I love you and I know… I know you love me too. It may feel soon for you to say it to me again, but I know it. And you love Crissa and I love Evan. So… what's wrong with it? What's wrong with me wanting to marry you or telling you I love you? What's wrong with us being a family?
I want you to be my wife again, so I can be your husband again. You will be Crissa's mom and I'll be the best father I can be for Evan. What's wrong with that? We're already a happy family, what's wrong with making it official? What's wrong with a golden band around our fingers? We could have a small wedding, inviting just our close friends, my mom and yours if you like. You can wear a dress whatever color you want, even your scrubs if you want. Or we could just go to the city hall.
This time is different, Cristina. This time we won't hurt each other. This time we'll be happy, if we want to." he finished, looking at her, his puppy blue eyes pleading with hers.
On the other hand, Cristina had been just staring at him, her eyes slowly turning wet as so many kinds of feelings and emotions was roaming them. But when he finished, there were only two kinds of it left in her eyes, love and confidence. She smiled at him softly and let out a breath. "It's a pity…" she started leaning forward and locked gaze with him. "… that… the ring was so ugly and wasn't yours… I would've worn it now otherwise."
Owen's pleading eyes lit up as he chuckled. "I'll buy you the most beautiful one," he said, smiling softly with his mouth and eyes. "You can even come and choose it if you want."
Cristina chuckled. "No I shouldn't choose it, you should."
"Okay," he nodded. "You can wait in the car while I choose it."
She giggled, shaking her head. "That sounds like a great idea."
He smiled at her and then looked up as a waiter walked to their table. He picked up the dirty dishes as another came with two bowls of chocolate ice cream.
With bright smiles on their lips, they ate their dessert and then left the restaurant after paying for the dinner.
In the parking lot, Owen held the door open for Cristina as she got in the car and went to the other side to get in his seat. He was silent during the drive and didn't even turn on the radio. Cristina opened her mouth a couple of times to break the silence, but she would close it, finding the silence comforting this time.
After a short drive, Owen stopped in front of a shopping mall.
Cristina frowned and turned to look at him and ask questions, but then saw a playful look on his face as he was turning off the engine. She looked back at the mall and started laughing. "Oh my God, you really was serious about it?" she asked and looked at him incredulously.
Owen's face fell as he saw the look on her face and gulped. "What?"
"Oh no," she said quickly, feeling like he'd start crying right away. "I didn't mean about the whole getting married thing. I mean the part where you'd buy a ring and I'd wait in the car."
Owen smiled again, after sighing in relief, and nodded. "I am a very serious man," he said and got out of the car and walked inside the mall.
"Oh my God," Cristina murmured and laughed again. She sighed happily and turned on the radio, dancing in her seat with the music.
After ten minutes Owen appeared out of the mall and got back in the car.
Cristian looked at him, expectantly, but he just started the engine and drove the car. "Didn't it have a nice ring?" she asked after a while and got silence as response. "Is… the ring in your… ear?" she asked after another while and was again answered with silence. She sighed and just stared out through the window.
After a while he was parking the car in the hospital's parking lot. "Did you get paged when you were at the mall?" she asked, getting impatient and he just stayed silent. "Owen!" she said a little aloud.
He sighed. "Just wait for it," he finally said, rolling his eyes.
"Oh God, you do speak?!" she asked in a sarcastic shock and got out of the car when he opened the door for her.
He lead her in the building and then down the stairway. Cristina's frown started to soften slowly as she started to realize where they were going. "Oh…" she said as he opened the door to the vent and led her in. Now she was smiling, going straight on the special spot to let the air blow her hair upward.
He smiled and stood in front of her. "I never fail to surprise you, do I?"
She chuckled, shaking her head, and stared into his eyes.
He grabbed her chin and lifted it up and then leaned forward, placing his lips on her soft ones. He first kissed her lips and then pushed his tongue to seek entrance.
She parted her lips and let his tongue in and pushed her own inside his mouth. They kissed passionately and more passionately. He grabbed her wrist and slowly led her towards the wall and pushed her against it. They finally stopped kissing and pulled away to catch their breaths.
Owen opened the velvet box in his pocket and took the ring out and held it up, between their faces so she would see it. "Will you marry me, Cristina Yang?"
Cristina smiled, looking at the ring and then looked into his eyes. "Yes," she said and let Owen put the ring on her finger. She smiled moving her hand in the air to see the diamond sparkle. It wasn't a big one, but it was a very beautiful kind of small. It was simple and it was what she'd like. He really knew her taste. She looked back at Owen and placed her ring-wearing hand on his neck and started kissing him again.
He pulled away again and looked into her eyes, smirking. "I told you anything can happen on the vent, didn't I?"
She smirked, mischievously. "Anything?"
He returned the smirk as his hand tickled her back. "Anything."
"Like what?" she whispered in a sexy tone, caressing the outline of his face with her ring-wearing finger.
"Like," he said moving his hand on her back up and grabbed the zipper. "This," he said as he pulled the zipper of her dress down, caressing the exposed skin on the way and licked his lips before placing a kiss on her neck.
"Only?" she asked pretending to be disappointed.
He smirked as got the dress out of her and tossed it aside. Then unhooked her strapless bra and tossed it towards the discarded dress. Next he took out his own coat and pants. Soon after, their underwears joined the pile of discarded clothes. "Wait for more," he said lifting her body up. "You won't be disappointed."
"My fiancée will not disappoint me, I know," she said, putting extra emphasis on the word 'fiancee' which, indeed, did turn him on as he growled and leaned forward to swirl his tongue inside her nipple.
"Of course," he said and sucked her other nipple. "Your fiancée cannot wait any longer."
"Neither can yours," she said and a low moan escaped her throat as he adjusted the tip of his cock against her dripping entrance.
He looked into her lustful eyes and started to push in.
"Owen," she said in a form of gasp, making him stop going in, then looked into his intense and desperate eyes. "I love you too."
That turned him on more than anything and he pushed inside her, growling against her neck, wanting to show her just how much love he had for every inch of her body and soul.
Hope you enjoyed this chapter as much as I enjoyed writing it. Please, please review. Like really, please. They're getting less and less by each chapter and that is really discouraging. I know the late updates are annoying, but I have a life out there and can't update frequently. And I don't want to post any chapter just so I have updated. I want to write the best chapter I can, and that takes time. So please don't stop reading just because I can't update frequently enough.
On the other hand I really appreciate the increasing number of followers and favorites. But I really need reviews. This story has over 150 followers but I get only 5-10 reviews for each chapter. Don't get me wrong, I don't care about statistic and the number of reviews. But I really need to know what the readers think about the chapters I post. I need encouragement.
I really appreciate it if you do tell me, thank you so much for your royalty in reading this story :) 3 Love you all.
