Meredith let out a breath and stared at her, with a smile on her face. "All zipped up. What jewelry you'd want?"

Cristina looked at herself in the mirror and smiled. "Maybe... a necklace...? I have my earrings and I'll have my... ring..." she said her smile growing wider. She opened a drawer and picked up a box. Right then they heard a knock on the door.

"Who's that?" Meredith asked.

"It's me, Helen," said the person.

"Come in," Cristina said and opened the box, looking at the necklaces and deciding on which one would go with her dress.

"Cristina," Helen said approaching her and grabbed both of her hands with her own wrinkled ones and made her daughter look at her.

Cristina let go if the jewelries and looked at her mother, waiting for what she had to say.

"You look very beautiful," she said grabbing her face with both hands. "You are going to be so happy and I am so proud of you. You are a good woman. I can't say I raised you right, because I didn't... You grew up right. And I am proud of you," she said, with tears in her eyes. She loved her daughter very much but she never gave herself a chance to be her mother because she was too obsessed with decorating people's houses. And all that mattered to her was when her daughter would find herself a husband. But now, looking at her, she realized how much she had missed out on.

A bit surprised, but moved by those words, Cristina smiled and hugged her mother. "Thank you," she whispered.

Helen pulled away and patted her daughter in the shoulder. "Now let's not ruin our makeup," she said and then opened her purse, taking out a little box. "This is for you, I think you'll like it."

Cristina grabbed the box and opened it. In it was a simple golden chain and a little ruby pendant. "I think this will go perfectly with my dress," she said with a smile and let her mother put it on her neck.

"I'll go now." she said and walked towards the door and then turned to look at her daughter. "Just... do walk down the aisle."

"I will," she said, nodding and then turned to Meredith. "So I'm done, I think you can go," she said. "You have Owen's ring, right?"

Meredith nodded, showing her hand with the golden band around one of her fingers. She couldn't hold a purse or anything so she had to wear it like that. "Okay, so do come out," she said.

"I will," Cristina said, annoyed. "Of course I will."

With a smile Meredith walked to the door and opened it. Her smile grew wider when she saw who was at the door. "She's ready," she said and walked out.

Cristina looked at him in the mirror and smiled. "Let's go," she said and turned around.

"You look perfect," he said with a grin.

Grinning back, Cristina stood in front of him. "Thank you, Alex," she said as she fixed his tie. "For everything."

He smiled down at her. "I'm proud to have been your Meredith for all these years."

"No," Cristina shook her head. "You never were my Meredith, you... you were my Alex. You were my Alex."

He just stared at her.

"That's something special," she said.

Not knowing what to say, Alex just stared at her and then, pulled her in a big hug. "I'm proud to be your Alex." he said.

Smiling, she leaned into his embrace. "Now, don't ruin my hair," she said pulled away, then wrapped her arm around his after grabbing her flower bouquet. "Let's go."

"Ready to be miserable again?" Derek teased, looking at Owen sideways. He finally got the chance to actually be Owen's best man. He was it the other time, but Meredith left him in the prison and Mark took his place. He was Burke's best man too, but that wedding... He was gonna make the best of today as a best man.

Owen chuckled. "Have never been more ready," he said, not taking his eyes off of where Cristina would be walking in through soon. They had decorated the back yard with some flowers. It was simple, but beautiful. There were two columns of wooden bench which was now full of their friends. On the first row of the left column, sat his mother with Crissa and on the right one sat Cristina's parents and Evan. Crissa had the biggest grin on her face. She was more excited than Owen even. He was happy she was happy. He was happy they were happy. Had he been told that this day would come when he was signing his divorce papers, he would probably laugh bitterly and go back to word not thinking twice about that joke. But it wasn't a joke. There he was waiting to be married to the love of his life again.

Finally it was the guests' turn to stand up because the bride was walking in.

Owen felt like his heart wasn't beating anymore and the second he saw her in that red dress walking towards him, his heart was beating out of his chest. He couldn't smile or grin, he was just staring as Cristina took every oxygen molecule out if his lungs.

Cristina on the other hands didn't feel like she was walking on the earth. She felt she was flying towards him. Every beat of her heart seemed to toss her forward one step. She finally was able to smile and as Owen saw her beautiful smile, his face broke into a huge grin.

Crissa was vibrating on her spot in glee. She seemed to be struggling with herself not to scream.

Finally, Alex handed Cristina to Owen after planting a kiss on the side of her forehead. The two men nodded at each other and Alex went to sit on the second row of benches, next to Jo.

"You look breathtaking," Owen whispered in Cristina's ear and they turned to look at the priest. "So are we ready?" He said, smiling and the couple nodded their heads.

The priest started saying what he had to say while Cristina and Owen were standing in front if each other, looking into each other's eyes.

"Do you have prepared any vows?" the priest asked.

"We didn't reall-..."

"Yes," Cristina interrupted him. "I do."

The priest nodded and she took a breath, looking at the guests who we're looking at her rather surprised. She looked at Owen and smiled.

"Well I didn't really prepare something. I wouldn't have remembered them, and I would've had to write them on my hand, and I would've scrubbed them away.

"I want to let my heart speak. Because the heart… is not just an organ. It doesn't just pump or circulate the blood in the body and clog sometimes. It has emotions... and feelings, and it talks... I know that, because I'm a heart surgeon."

She took another breath. "I'm a very cold person, so cold that icicles are attracted to me. I don't do emotions or feelings. People call me a robot, but... you came and you took the ice out of my abdomen and kissed me with such fire that it almost melted all the ice in me. I was a robot and you... you... you taught me how to have emotions, how to love, how to express it, how to accept it... you melted my ice... I learned to love you, and I learned to love life. I used to just... exist... loving you taught me how to live besides existing... I learned there's more to life than just a career... I learned to love a kid... I learned to be his mother... You melted my ice and you changed me… not in a way to force me to be what you wanted. You taught me to be willing to change myself... to be happier... to be a person...

"My heart used to just pump and circulate the blood in my body, but now it has feelings. My heart loves you. And it is saying it now, loud and clear. Because hearts do speak. I'm a heart surgeon, so I know that.

"And I know that you're too over-emotional right now that you may want to kiss me right about now... but you have wait for him to allow you," she tilted her heads towards the priest with a smile.

Owen was just staring at her, stunned, dumbfounded. He did want to kiss her right then and there but he had to come back to reality when he heard the priest clear his throat.

"So..." he started. "Owen Hunt, would you take Cristina Yang as you lawfully wedded wife to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health until death do you apart?"

Taking a breath, Owen looked into Cristina's eyes and said, "I do."

"Cristina Yang, would you take Owen Hunt as your lawfully wedded husband to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health until death do you apart?"

"I do," Cristina said and turned to Meredith to get Owen's ring and placed it on Owen's finger, smiling up at him. Owen did the same after he got the ring from Derek.

"By the power vested in me by the state of Washington, I now pronounce you husband and wife," the priest said and got the couple's smile in return. "Now you may kiss the bride," he told Owen.

With such love and adoration, Owen grabbed Cristina's face and started kissing her as if it were their first time ever. They could hear the clapping of the guest in the background but it seemed as if they were being lifted off the ground and all the sounds were fading away. If they were of those kind of sappy romantics, they would feel like they were fading in the sunset.

It was time to land back on earth. Owen took his wife's hand into his and they walked down the aisle. They stopped by the first row of benches and waited for their children to join them. Owen took Evan's hand and Cristina took Crissa's. They were a cute family with two blonds at one side and two with black curly hair at the other. With huge grins on their faces they walked away and the guests started to get up to go to where they'd hold the reception.

"Aw, look at us," Meredith said, sipping on her champagne. She was sitting at a table and had hid her bare feet under the table clothing. "... all settled down"

"Mhm," Cristina said, sipping her own drink. "You're left," Cristina said tapping Alex'a arm. "Till when are you gonna be a boyfriend?"

Alex grinned at her and pointed to Jo who was chatting with her friends with his glass of champagne. "Haven't you noticed her hand, yet?" He said in a casual tone.

"What?!" Meredith and Cristina both said and looked at him with dropped jaws. "You proposed?"

"Nah!" he said.

"Then what?" Cristina asked.

"She's not so much into weddings you know?"

They just stared at her.

"You may look for a simple golden band around her finger."

Their jaws dropped again. "You... married her...?" Meredith asked gulping her drink and Alex nodded with a big grin.

"When? Why you didn't tell anyone?" Cristina asked.

"Last night," he said and their eyebrows rose. "Wanted all the attention to be focused on you for now."

Cristina smiled, softly. "I'm so proud of you Evil Spawn," she said, squeezing his arm.

"So we've all settled down," Meredith said with a smile.

"Yeah," all three of them said in unison.

"You're a terrible slow dancer Cristina," Owen said as they sat at a table and grabbed a paper tissue to clean his shoes. Cristina had "smashed" his feet multiple times.

"Then you married the wrong person," Cristina said, pouting.

"No way in the hell," he said, kissing the side of her forehead. "I married the woman with a speaking heart."

Cristina smiled, leaning into his embrace.

"Those vows, Cristina... I still can't believe it. I mean I always knew you loved me like... crazy... but never thought I'd hear you express it like that... in public."

"That wasn't me, that was my heart."

"I love your heart," he said kissing her lips.

Crissa and Evan who had been dancing with each other came and sat next to them. Owen pulled Evan onto his lap and Crissa sat next to Cristina.

"You're my father now?" Evan asked solemnly, looking up at him.

"Do you want me to be?" he asked him.

"Oui," he said.

"Then... oui... I'm your father." He said kissing his head.

Cristina smiled softly watching them. She had to detach her eyes from her two favorite men as she felt someone lean their head on her arm though. "Can I call you 'mom'?"

"Crissa," Cristina smiled and wrapped her arm around her little body, pressing her against herself. "Yes, you can. Of course you can. I'd love to be called 'mom' by you," she said kissing her head.

Owen smiled softly, watching his two favorite women as well.

"Aww look at that!" April's high pitched voice was heard and getting closer. As usual she had a camera in hand and started to get pictures of them. Owen sat closer to Cristina and wrapped his arm around her and leaned his head on Evan's head as Cristina had Crissa in her arm. They all smiled and April captured the moment. "Perfect!" she said with a huge grin.

Owen sighed happily and kissed Cristina's head again. Everything was perfect.

They rebuilt their love, their life from darkness, brick by brick.

Brick by Brick

Wasn't this chapter just perfect? I loved writing it.

This is not the end. There are still more bricks left to complete their life.

Please, please, please, review! The lack of feedback really isn't good.
