Tris' POV
The next morning, I wake to the worst sound on the planet, the alarm clock. It's almost like it is mocking you that you have to get up so it decides to play this blaring sound in your ear just to start you day off. I groan and try to turn it off but it won't shut up! So I just take the alarm clock and chuck it at the wall across the room and it shatters to piece. There that shut it up. I hear Tobias slightly chuckling to himself at what I just did.
"Morning beautiful, but was that really necessary?" he says still chuckling slightly.
"Yes. It defiantly was. I don't want to get up." I say while rolling over and snuggling my head more into Tobias chest.
"Me either, but do you really want to leave the initiates to run all over Dauntless?"
"Ugh! Fine."
I roll off the bed and head to the bathroom to follow my usual morning routine, which basically consists of shower, get dressed, hair, makeup, cafeteria for breakfast. As I'm doing my makeup, Tobias just rolled out of bed. He literally could wake up 5 minutes before we leave for breakfast and would be ready for his day. Man, I wish.
Once we are both finished our routines, begin to walk hand in hand down to the Pit but then realize the initiates could see us and let go, settling for just out arms brushing. We grab a muffin and go to the training room to set up, its guns today.
As soon as we are finished set up it's exactly 8am, and still no initiates. We wait for 5 minutes and still no one come. We grin evilly to each other and grab the water balloons that are not filled with water, oh no, they are filled with paint, all different colours. We run to the dorms and look inside to find all the initiates still sleeping soundly. We whisper count to 3 to each other and then start screaming and throwing the balloons at every single initiate. I may or may not have purposely hit Chloe and Abbie in the face…
"YOU'RE LATE!" Tobias screams.
"TRAINING ROOM! 5 MINUTES! IF YOU ARENT THERE BY THEN CONSIDER YOURSELF FACTIONLESS!" I scream.
They all scramble up and start to get dressed, but that's kind of hard for some since they can't see through the paint on their face. I chuckle and run back to the training room to wait for the others. As soon as we break through the doors of the dorms we both burst out laughing that we can't breathe. We finally get back to the training room and stand in the middle waiting for them to come, its 8:04, they have 1 minute. Not even 30 seconds later every single initiate comes bursting through the door, some looking worse than others with the paint smeared all over their faces.
"Don't ever be late again or the consequences will be 10 times worse." I say irritated.
The all just meekly nod their heads and keep them low down, except Jazz and Maria, they hold their heads way up high like nothing happened.
"The first thing you will learn is how to shoot a gun, the second is how to win a fight." Tobias instructs while I start handing out guns to everyone. "Watch me and Six very closely."
We both grab our own guns and stand back to back to shoot at targets opposite one another. Inhale aim. Exhale fire. Me and Tobias shoot in sync and all the shots go through the exact same hole. We turn back to the initiates to find them gaping at us, more specifically me. I guess they didn't think I was capable of that.
"Stop standing there! Get to it!" I yell.
They all scramble to a target but Chloe just lazily walks over to hers. I watch her closely and see how she is going to do. She goes, stands in front of her target and looks at the gun with a questioning look. She tries to make a stance but it's all awkward, she holds the gun but her arms are all wrong and the recoil would totally destroy her if she shot it like that. Exactly as I predicted, she shoots and the recoil comes back and the gun hits her right in the face causing her to cry out in pain and her nose to drip blood. I roll my eyes and yell,
"Someone take this idiot to the infirmary because she wasn't paying attention and her entire stance was wrong. You might want to prepare yourself for the recoil next time cupcake." I start to smirk a little as the blood goes down her face blending in with the multi-coloured paint still on her face. Abbie runs over to her and starts to take her to the infirmary. I look at Tobias and see him smirking a little. The initiates still stand there so I yell at them to keep shooting.
We continue shooting until lunch and dismiss them.
The rest of practice is going well until I hear some roaring on the opposite side of the room. I turn and look to see Brendon and James fighting that one is a better shooter than the other. Just as I'm about to go over there and break it up, Brendon drops his gun, I hear a piercing echo through the room, then blackness.
Hehe cliffy! Sorry for the huge delay for this chapter! I'm kind of drifting away from writing and its making me sad…anyways! Read, review and pm me with ideas, concerns etc. –TheDivergentLover
