AN: Hey guys! I know I left last chapter on a cliffy so here is the next one! Please continue to review, follow and favourite because it is your support that drives me to keep writing!

Tris' POV

Blinding light and a steady beat is what I wake up to, only to realize that steady beat is my heartbeat. I also feel a great amount of pain coming from my thigh and fingers woven in between my right hand. I dismiss the pain for now and look over to see Tobias asleep upright in a wooden chair pushed up against the bed.

I try to sit up a little but my slight movement stirs Tobias.

"Oh my god you're awake."

"What happened?"

Tobias begins to explain that there was a fight between Brendon and James, leading towards Brendon dropping his gun and it firing at my leg. Well that would explain the throb in my thigh. Brendon is now being made factionless for starting the fight with James, ending like this.

"I'm going to be able to train still right?" I ask.

"That's up to the doctor Tris." Tobias says as he kisses my knuckles.

Just then a male doctor with various tattoos on all parts of body I can see except his face.

"Ah Tris you are awake, fantastic!" he exclaims. I'm just going to run a couple more tests on you, then give you some pain medication and you are free to leave. But you will be on crutches until I feel your leg is stable enough to continue walking naturally, with that being said, I suggest no extreme physical activity for at least a week."

Well this guy just became my new worst enemy. Actually Peter and Brendon still hold that title.

"What about initiation?" I ask

"I suggest taking it easy for the remainder…"

He gets interrupted by his pager beeping like crazy. He says a mumbled an apology and left the room. I assume to deal with whatever is happening. We sit in comfortable silence waiting for the doctor to come back in. We wait for about 25 minutes until he comes bursting back through the door with an excited look on his face and holding by what looks like some kind of cream or ointment.

"Sorry about that huge delay but you are in luck Tris! Every month Erudite sends us some new medication they created that they want us to try and see if they work like they are intended to! This time the sent this healing salve that is suppost to speed up healing process to as little as 3 days! Would you be willing to try it?"

I contemplate it for a minute or so weighing out the pros and cons and I realize what do I have to lose? Either my healing process stays the same as it would without it or it lessens to 3 days.

"Sure why not? I got nothing to lose now." I reply

Tobias has been quiet up until now when he says it could be dangerous, he never has trusted the Erudite. I think it has to do with the fact Eric came from them.

"All the other medications they have sent us have all had a huge success, except for one which didn't have any reaction. I think you should give it a chance."

"Fine. Let's do it. If it helps Tris get back on her feet soon, I'm up for it." Tobias agrees.

He gives us the salve and explains to us that we should apply it directly to the wound every 6 hours then wraps it. I still have to walk with crutches for the 3 days though. He applies it to my wound and it hurts like a bitch, but it quickly subsides and is replaced with a cooling sensation. We thank the doctor and we walk (hop in my case) back to the cafeteria seeing it is time for dinner. We walk in the door and everybody's eyes flash to us and the happy laughter is replaced with quiet murmurs. Tobias puts a calming hand on the small of my back and urges me forward.

Once we get to our table, conversation has started to flow again with the exception of our table. Christina is the first to speak.

"What the hell happened?"

"Brendon and James, 2 of our initiates, got into a fight during target practice and Brendon dropped his gun, triggering it to shoot straight into my thigh." I explain.

"Oh my god are you going to be okay?" Uriah asks.

"Yeah I'll be fine, the Erudite made this cream that is supposed to speed up healing to 3 days, I'll just be hop-a-long for 3 days though."

We continue to eat our dinner with idle chatter and laughter. Tobias' hand rests on my thigh under the table so no initiates can see. We finish eating and head back to the room, climb into bed and instantly fall asleep.

Next Day

Today we are starting the fights. We had to get up in the middle of the night to apply the cream to my wound, and then we both couldn't fall back asleep so we made the pairs.

James vs. Maria

Chloe (EW) vs. Chloe's minion (Abbie)

Jazz vs. Joe

David has no partner, because of Brendon being made factionless.

To be completely honestly I'm excited for Chloe and her minions fight. Currently we are waiting for the initiates to arrive and just chatting with each other.

"How's the leg?" he asks.

"Surprisingly better. It is no longer to sharp pains, more like a dull ache now, which I can cope with."

"That's great! That means you can maybe still play the paintball game in a couple days."

"I totally forgot about that! Oh I will be playing no matter what."

"Not if you are still hurting." Tobias says with a quick peck on my lips.

I glare at him and kiss him back, but longer for more than a peck. We get lost in each other until we are interrupted by a couch followed by snickering. We turn and see all the initiates with mixed expressions. Tobias just continues to go on with the days events like nothing happened. I turn the board to reveal the pairs. Of course both Brendon and James look like they have it in the bag, Chloe and Abbie turn to each other with gaping mouths. Everyone else looks pretty neutral.

Time Skip because I really hate writing fight scenes

In the end the winners are: Maria, Abbie and Jazz. We dismiss them for the day, seeing as we continued fighting through lunch. I apply the cream, get some dinner and go straight to bed. Walking with crutches wears me out more then I want it to.
