Chapter 12: Do we have a Deal?

Tsuna flinched as the door was kicked open to admit one furious skylark. Hibari was emitting a deadly aura and had his tonfas risen to strike. Fortunately, his gaze was locked on Mukuro and not Tsuna… yet.

"For your pathetic attempt at an illusion," Hibari said, glaring at the pineapple. "I'll bite you to death." The Cloud Guardian raced forward and lashed out. Despite the fact that Mukuro had no idea what Hibari was talking about, he prepared for the inevitable battle.

Mukuro jumped back with a smirk and summoned his trident out of thin air. The weapons clashed with a loud clanging noise, both Guardians refusing to give ground. Mukuro began taunting the enraged Cloud as they began to battle.

"Guys! Stop fighting!" Tsuna yelled, forgetting that only Mukuro and Chrome would be able to hear him, and Mukuro wasn't exactly in the listening mood. Chrome just gave her boss a weak smile but knew his attempts to make peace were futile. The female Mist Guardian turned around when she felt a presence at her side. She relaxed immediately when she found it was only a Vongola staff member, maintaining as far a distance as he could from the ongoing fight.

"M-miss Chrome, the other G-Guardians are here," he said, voice shaking from fear. Chrome frowned at the unexpected news, but nodded anyways. Sighing with relief, the man retreated from the room at an impossible speed. She glanced at her Boss who had heard the man speak as well. Tsuna tilted his head in confusion as to why the others would be at the Vongola mansion.

The standoff between Mukuro and Hibari had ended and the two leapt back from each other and began circling again, searching for another opportunity to attack. At almost the same time, four other figures burst through the large doors and into the room.

"Are Hibari and Mukuro having another EXTREME fight?" Ryohei asked, eyes lighting up.

"Come on, guys! We shouldn't fight in the mansion," Yamamoto said, though even he wasn't stupid enough to try and jump in between the Mist and Cloud.

"Don't you two dare wreck the Tenth's mansion!" Gokudera growled, already reaching for his dynamite.

"LAMBO-SAMA WANTS TSUNA-NII!" The Lightning Guardian bawled.

"Kufufu, everyone is being so noisy," Mukuro smirked, abruptly stopping the fight and dissolving his trident. "Looks like our fight will have to wait until later, skylark." Hibari glared at the pineapple and very reluctantly put away his weapons. As much as he was loathe to admit it, this room wasn't adequate for a full on battle between the two Guardians. Already, the walls and furniture looked like they'd been in a tornado.

"What are you herbivores doing here?" Hibari growled, irritated at their interruption.

"Why should we tell you?" Gokudera glared back at the Cloud guardian.

"Now, now," Yamamoto said, stepping between the two. He turned to Hibari. "We came because we thought something might be going on about Tsuna's death."

"Took you long enough," Mukuro said, folding his arms across his chest.

"Wait, so he's visited you too?" Yamamoto asked, looking surprised.

"Visit? I meant the events surrounding his death," Mukuro said, looking confused.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, it's obvious he was murdered." This statement was met by cries of surprise and outrage from the other Guardians.

"SOMEONE MURDERED THE TENTH?!" Gokudera roared, eyes burning. "WHEN I FIND OUT WHO DID IT I'LL BLOW THEM TO PIECES!"

"Tell me who murdered my little brother!" Ryohei yelled, for once agreeing with Gokudera.

"LAMBO-SAMA WILL KILL WHOEVER KILLED TSUNA-NII!"

"Why didn't you tell us?" Yamamoto asked, looking deadly serious for once.

"We thought it was obvious," Mukuro said, tilting his head. "The entire event was just too suspicious. Why else would you be here?"

"We wanted to talk about something else entirely," Yamamoto admitted. "But this topic is much more serious. Who would attack Tsuna?"

"Excuse me," Chrome's soft voice caused everyone's head to snap around; they had forgotten she was in the room. "Why don't we just ask Boss what happened?"

"W-wait, Chrome!" Tsuna yelped. "Is this really a good idea?"

"What do you mean?" Gokudera asked, frowning. "You want to have a séance or something?"

"No, we could just ask him directly," Chrome said, pointing to where Tsuna stood.

"But there's nothing there," Ryohei muttered, squinting as though something would show up if he concentrated.

"Lambo-sama doesn't see anything!" The Lightning Guardian announced.

"I hate to agree with Turf Top and the stupid cow, but the Tenth definitely isn't there," Gokudera said, frowning.

"STOP CALLING ME TURF TOP, OCTOPUS HEAD!"

"Then stop calling me octopus head, stupid turf top!"

"We really shouldn't be fighting now…" Yamamoto sweatdropped as he pushed the two apart. He glanced back at the couch where Chrome had been pointing. "Are you sure Tsuna is here?"

"Y-yes?" Chrome asked, confused. "Can't you see Boss?" He was still sitting there, plain as day from her point of view, and Mukuro had seen him earlier.

"Perhaps their senses are just too dull, Chrome dear," Mukuro grinned. The rest of the Guardians, excluding Yamamoto, shot the pineapple a glare.

Hibari rolled his eyes at the herbivores antics and stared at the couch. He could make out a vague outline of a person, but nothing more than that. The Cloud gritted his teeth at the thought that the male Mist Guardian could do something that he couldn't.

"Why can't they see you, Boss?" Chrome asked Tsuna.

Tsuna rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. "Well, I was going to tell you and Mukuro, but then Hibari came down and… well, it just didn't happen. I am dead, so don't get confused about that, but I made a deal."

"Did you make a deal with a demon?" Chrome gasped, suddenly worried.

"Er, I don't think so. I just talked to a lady at the receptionist desk." Tsuna sighed as Chrome looked even more confused. "Just don't worry about it. Anyways, I can visit you all on Earth for seven days and to settle any unfinished business. I think today is my…fifth? Time is kind of weird when you're dead."

"But why can only Mukuro and I see you?" Chrome questioned.

"Well, actually, no one is supposed to be able to see or hear me," Tsuna explained. "You two just have heightened abilities that let you hear me." Chrome nodded in understanding.

"What'd he say TO THE EXTREME?" Ryohei asked, eyes darting between Chrome and the empty space she was staring at.

"He says Chrome and I have heightened abilities," Mukuro relayed with a grin.

"He also says he doesn't have much time left on Earth," Chrome said, making many of the Guardians stiffen.

"What?! How much time does he have?!" Gokudera spluttered.

"This is not okay TO THE EXTREME," Ryohei yelled.

"LAMBO-SAMA DOESN'T WANT TSUNA-NII TO DISAPPEAR," Lambo started crying.

"Quiet down, herbivores," Hibari said, sharply cutting off all the chaos the other Guardians were creating.

"Well, this is interesting." Tsuna jumped at the sudden appearance of a new voice near his ear.

"Jack?!" Tsuna yelped, turning his head to see the blonde reaper sitting next to him on the couch. The teen looked mildly amused with the whole situation.

"What's wrong, Boss?" Chrome asked, wondering what made her Boss react so suddenly.

"Relax, they can't see or hear me," Jack said. To prove his point, he got up and waved his hand in front of Chrome's face, getting no reaction from the girl, before returning to his original spot. "As far as they can tell, you're just talking to yourself."

"Great," Tsuna groaned, burying his face in his hands. "Now, not only am I dead, but I'll look crazy too."

"Boss?"

"Er, it's nothing, Chrome," Tsuna said, trying to recover. "Maybe you should try and explain my situation more to the others…" he suggested. To his relief, the female Mist Guardian nodded and headed towards the others. Tsuna turned back to the reaper. "So what deal are you trying to make."

"I can tell you who killed you," Jack announced calmly, as if he'd just said it was rather warm outside. Tsuna gaped at the teen.

"Really?"

"Please. This kind of information is child's play for us reapers to get our hands on."

"What do I have to do?" Tsuna asked, knowing that there was probably a catch. The reaper's red eyes seemed to glint and he smirked.

"It'll cost… one of your remaining days."

A/N: *holds up shield to protect self from various bricks and rotten produce* Hi guys! It's been a while, huh? *dodges more rotten produce* yeah... I've had a lot of weird stuff going on, but I finally managed to write another chapter, so that's good right? I'm really sorry!

Btw, I haven't watched/read any KHR in a REALLY long time, pretty much since the series ended (that was a very sad day), so now I may be a bit off on writing any of the characters... Sorry about that too ^_^'

Anyways, I hope I'll be able to update this story more and maybe wrap it up soon...

So please leave a review so I'll stay motivated to keep updating and tell me what you like/ don't like/ have ideas for! Also, I think you guys should tell me who you think ordered Tsuna's assassination... I'd love to hear your thoughts~
