LET'S CONTINUE WITH THE STORY!
"Touko?! Dammit, she isn't here!"
Cheren searched the market frantically, looking around for the brunette. He couldn't find her anywhere; she never told him where she was going, and she was gone. Someone had probably stolen her, kidnapped her. Why would anyone do that? With a frustrated hiss, he watched as Liepard ran forward with no Touko by his side. The Pokémon was panting, shaking its head as if to call him forward. Running with his Pokémon through the now barely crowded area, he followed his partner. Cheren didn't care about the bags anymore; he handed them to someone who was begging for food. Touko was his top priority, and he had failed to keep her as that. He failed his promise to N, as well. With a quick halt, the purple-and-golden-furred Pokémon placed a paw forward, showing an area where only grass grew. Cheren frowned.
"Liepard, Touko isn't here! Why . . . what is that?"
Crouching, he grabbed a piece of paper. Inspecting it, he flipped it over only to his dismay: it was the list. Touko had been there. Lifting his gaze, he let his fingers trace the blades of grass, noticing they were slightly crooked as if something were pressing them against the ground. Someone had pitched a tent there and left quickly. Candle oil was dried in the grass. He touched it. It was slightly warm. Standing up quickly, he looked around. Nothing seemed out of place; everyone was walking around normally, as if it were a simple, careless day. Beginning to run, Liepard followed confusedly as they headed out of the market area and toward the hotel. Dialing a number, he pressed his phone to his ear. It rung several times, until someone finally picked up asking who was calling.
"Suzuki, it's me. I need you to come to the hotel as quickly as possible. Bring your son and your Pokémon. Please, it's an emergency and . . . and I trust you."
"W-what's going on?"
"I'll explain everything when you come to my hotel room. My room number is sixteen. Quickly, please," Cheren breathed, hanging up as he ran faster. Liepard kept up with an easy trot, hissing whenever its trainer turned a sharp turn. Finally reaching the hotel, Cheren went inside his hotel room, looking around. Everything was exactly the same way they left; Touko didn't play a joke and sneak back. Sitting on the edge of the bed, Cheren rocked slowly with panic. Touko was officially kidnapped by some creep who took her away from him. But, who would know about her? Plus she had her Pokémon—even Samurott could have taken down a simple person with his strength. Or . . . did this person know about them? Cheren growled, clenching his teeth in anger. He didn't care about the details; all he needed to do was find Touko and bring her back in less than two weeks. But if the person knew about her having a Legendary Pokémon, what kind of crazed ideas will stir in his mind? Would he (or she?) dare steal Reshiram and try to control it? As if—it only obeyed Touko's commands. Looking over toward the small kitchen, he stared at the egg.
"Liepard, did . . . did you touch the case?" Cheren questioned, noticing the egg was tilted inside its container. Looking back at his Pokémon, he watched his partner shake its head. Standing up and walking towards it, he looked more closely. Maybe it was hatching? Oh great, all he needed was a baby Pokémon alongside the trouble he had now. Someone knocked on the door and the prince walked back to the main area, opening it to reveal a worried Suzuki with John in her arms.
"Cher! I missed you!" John exclaimed. Suzuki placed her son down before entering, watching as he hugged Cheren tightly around the legs. With a giggle, he ran toward the bed to jump on it, finding Liepard lying in front of him. They stared at each other, John observing the Pokémon with interest. Cheren motioned Suzuki to the kitchen; she followed quietly. Leaning against the counter, he sighed, placing his hands behind him. Suzuki crossed her arms, standing before him as she waited for the story to unfold.
Letting her head roll slowly from one shoulder to the other, the brunette lifted her head up with a groan. She tried to pull her hand up, but something was tightly grasping it behind her. Tiredly opening a single eye, she turned her head to the side. In the dark area, she saw her hands were tied together with a thin rope. It was wrapped multiple times, lessening her chance of escape. Touko groaned again as she leaned forward, her body aching. She gagged, noticing the wretched taste in her mouth. It tasted like alcohol and something bitter. Clenching her jaw, she lifted her head up to look around. The room was dark, except for large tubes that connected the flooring to the ceiling. They glowed a pale color. She noticed Pokémon inside them. They lay on the ground, bodies shaking with pain.
"Oh . . ."
Gagging more, she flipped her head to the side to vomit. The taste was terrible, her throat burned, and her body ached with pain. Could the situation get any worse? Touko moved back in hopes of positioning herself more comfortably. Breathing slowly, the princess closed her eyes again. Why was she here? Why did this person treat her with such disrespect? Wait—the man said he wanted the gadget that she bought from the market, the small device that could change a Pokémon to a more powerful state. But why did he dare take her and tie her up like a prisoner? Touko would have easily gone back to the hotel and given it to him if she didn't know what his real purpose was for it. Touko shook her left leg weakly, feeling small objects roll around. Her Pokémon were still with her. Opening her eyes again, she let them stare forward to be met with the man she talked earlier with. He stood tall, holding something in his right hand. A notepad, probably. Adjusting his glasses with his free hand, he gave her a smile.
"Touko, you're awake. I thought I gave you too much, but it seems like you are doing better than I expected. Enjoy your nap?"
She kept her mouth closed. With a small hum of amusement, he looked to his side to stare at the tube. He pressed a hand to it, head tilted in a menacing way.
"These Pokémon are ones I have stolen over the years—strong, powerful Pokémon that can easily help me in taking over areas gradually. I've created a device that can control Pokémon and force them to destroy or take what I desire. But what I really need is the Mega Ring that you bought earlier this month. With that, I can easily trick Pokémon and control them in an even more powerful form! With all of them controlled, I can capture Legendary Pokémon and then from there, I can take over the world! Do you know how long I have been working on this? Years! And it's all thanks to Ghetsis that I have the knowledge of Pokémon and how to seize them."
Touko lifted her head to stare at him sternly. "Ghetsis?"
"Ah, so you can speak to me. Yes, Ghetsis and I worked together, before you and N were even born. He taught me everything in the library and then from there, we experimented on Pokémon. Oh, how the faces changed from innocent and joyous to pained and angry! Then N came to this world, his mother passed away, he grew older. . . . We noticed how his love for Pokémon was so pure. They trusted him. You know what we did, Touko? We took that amazing opportunity and searched for Zekrom. N spoke to the sleeping legend, and when fire expanded from the stone, Zekrom woke and stood before us. Ghetsis took the Pokémon to destroy your home. He wanted to see how powerful Zekrom was, but sadly, Ghetsis faced the danger of it all when he met your family. Luckily, I was able to escape with everything I could grab and . . . vanished."
"You're sick," Touko growled.
"Hmm, indeed. But after getting the information on how well N was doing after the terrible incident, it surprised me. Someone so young had to witness your father taking a Legendary Pokémon and destroying a place where people lived, knowing his father died in it all. N became alone with his adopted sisters, but he masked all the pain and made the kingdom grow and flourish with contented people. They trust him; they know his heart isn't evil. Interesting, isn't it? That can make an excellent story, so in the far future everyone can know exactly how we all felt and what we saw. I, Colress, can make my own story if I wanted to. I, a scientist, desiring power, capturing the world with his own hands, enslaving a princess for his own pleasure," he murmured excitedly. Touko felt her neck giving out and she let her head dip to her chest. She was breathing heavily, body shaking with panic. A crazy man stood before her. What he said—every single word—made her want to curl into a ball. He was terrible, disgusting, crazy. . . .
"Y-you . . . what possessed you to . . . do s-such a thing?" Touko questioned in a raspy voice. Walking forward, Colress firmly grabbed her jaw and pulled the princess close, angered.
"Everyone has their own destiny, don't they? Don't question me," Colress hissed. She let out a whimper, feeling his hand move to her throat, but he didn't hold it as firmly as expected. He moved his hand away with a laugh, beginning to walk away. The man waved, his shoes echoing.
"I'll give you dinner later; I'm busy right now with an experiment. Good-bye, Touko."
Bright light streamed in as Colress opened the door, but it vanished as quickly as it had come when he shut the door with a bang. It was silent; Touko leaned forward. The rope kept her in place, and she noticed her feet were tied to the chair's legs. Her body shook as she coughed, and she moaned with pain again. The damn psychopath went too far with her body. The cloth he pressed against her mouth must have contained some strong drugs. She still felt lightheaded from it, the taste never fading. Looking up, Touko stared at one tube. A large body leaned against the thick glass, its tail coiled around its body, the tip burning a fire. It was a Charizard. Her mouth hung open slightly. Touko tried to think of what to say. Would the Pokémon even hear her with the glass blocking them? To add on, was the Pokémon being controlled now, or was it resting from the pain it was receiving?
"H-hey."
It didn't budge. Clearing her throat, trying not to vomit again, Touko called out louder. His wings twitched in response, his large head turning to the side to eye her suspiciously. Giving a small smile, Touko turned her head away.
"Are you hurt?"
He growled in response, smoke blowing out of his nose. So he hears me—that's good. I wonder how he got here, she thought. Sighing, she slouched forward, her eyes closing. She hoped to relieve her pain. She felt it everywhere in her body, and being lightheaded at the same time wasn't wonderful either. She groaned, moving back so she rested her body on the chair. Even if Touko tried, there was no way for her to call out to one of her Pokémon so they could come out of their Poké Balls. They wouldn't be able to help. Opening an eye, she noticed the Charizard staring at her intensely. She lifted her head, urging him to turn toward her.
"I'm stuck like you, you know? Did you see Colress pull me in here?" Touko questioned, clenching her jaw as her body ached. The Pokémon shook its head, looking to the other tubes that stood around him. He curled his lips, growling as he stood. He had to bend his head, since it didn't give him enough room to stand tall, but he jabbed his claws forward, hitting the glass with power. Touko watched as he roared, blowing fire. It engulfed his body, soon vanishing as he stayed still. He stared, teeth bared. Looking over at Touko, he dropped his growling lips to sit back down. Pressing his paw to the glass, he blinked at the princess slowly. She nodded, understanding what he did. The glass wouldn't break; it didn't have a single scratch. Colress meant business. He wasn't going to let a single Pokémon escape from his grasp; they were simple tools he didn't dare let others see.
Moving her arms, Touko tried to adjust her wrist in the rope, feeling her hands becoming numb. Looking over her shoulder to the other side of the room, she examined the boxes piled around. Labels read "Poké Balls, Potions, and Lab Equipment". She looked to her left, noticing a table with a box, stacks of paper, and an old chair. To her right, the room expanded to a large hallway full of other tubes with Pokémon resting inside. Obviously, in front of her were Charizard, a Stoutland, and the door to freedom. A storage room was all; nothing wonderful she could use to escape. Inspecting Charizard's tube, she noticed a simple electronic pad standing beside it, probably to type in a code. Maybe if she watched Colress move his hands along it, she could figure out how to let Charizard out so he could help the others escape.
"Charizard, do you ever watch him type in the code?" Touko questioned. He stared at her before nodding slowly. She smiled. He knew the password—all she had to do was escape from the rope and just type it in. Looking around at the other Pokémon, she stared back at the Fire-type.
"Do you think you can destroy the others if we ever escape?" she asked again. He perked up, nodding slowly in agreement. Sighing, she leaned against the chair to close her eyes, wanting to sleep some more. The pain still wasn't going away. Maybe resting would help her think the situation through better. . . .
"Your gardens are very beautiful. They bring out the beauty of this part of Unova, especially with how interesting the flowers are. These are apple trees, aren't they? Why do you need them?" N asked, lifting a hand up to grab a late apple. Pulling it off, he looked at it curiously, noticing just a small area was still green, but it was ripe to eat. Touya grabbed another, frowning as he noticed part of it was rotten. Pitching it to the side, he looked at the other trees.
"Well, my mother loves apple trees—she enjoys when they bloom and how beautiful the flowers are before they transform into apples. The gardeners know how well my mom loves the flowers bashed together with others, how colorful they can be," he informed, walking forward into the maze. N followed, keeping the apple in his hand. They walked together, Touya keeping his right arm out to let the bushes touch his fingertips. N looked up at the sky, watching as clouds slowly drifted in a lazy way, the sun beginning to deepen away high above them.
"Your mother is very interesting, did you know that? Touko takes after her very much," N murmured. Touya looked to his side, smiling.
"Yeah, it's a good thing, too. Touko needs to be strong to rule this part of Unova. After all, I'm already married and ruling another kingdom with my wife. Since her parents died several years ago, she had to rule the place for a while by herself." He looked forward. "She knew she couldn't keep up by herself, so she decided to search for a husband. Surprise, surprise, I too wanted someone, and at a party my mother hosted, we somehow met. We began to meet more, and before I knew it we got married. It's a simple life we have, you know?"
"That's a lovely story," N said, chuckling. Touya smiled, a faint blush on his face. Looking up at the sky, he sighed softly. The wind was barely blowing, but it still felt chilly, and warning for winter was coming. Even if the weather was becoming cooler, it was still beautiful outside and enjoyable to be in. Lifting his arms up, Touya stretched before turning around to stop in front of N. The older man stopped, looking down at the brown-haired king.
"Hey, how are your Pokémon doing?" Touya questioned. N smiled before placing a hand in his pocket, feeling around for his six Poké Balls. He grabbed the one with different patterns, knowing it was Zekrom's. He rolled it carefully around his fingers, looking down at the ground.
"They're well, but Zekrom has been on edge for a while now. Something has happened to Touko—he senses it," he murmured. Touya looked worried now.
"How does he know?"
"Since Zekrom and Reshiram were once one Pokémon, they can still understand each other's emotions. It's rather hard to explain the entire situation, but Zekrom is sensing both Touko and Reshiram are in serious danger right now. Reshiram is feeling uneasy and angered at the same time; probably what Touko is feeling right now, if not worse. Touya, if I could leave right now it would be marvelous, but I can't. I need you to go and see how they're doing, please. I'm rather worried myself—we barely have anytime left before your mother begins the punishment," N spoke, pulling the Poké Ball out. Touya leaned forward, lifting his hand to stop the other prince from moving any further.
"So hold on for a moment here! Let me get this straight: You want me to go to wherever Touko and Cheren are, see if they're all right, make sure they have Shaymin, then come back all the way here just to tell you? First off, I have no idea where the hell they are, and second, are you crazy?! Someone has to watch you, and I'm responsible for you! Plus, I can't just leave my wife and say I'll be gone for a few days looking for my sister!"
"Zekrom knows the way; he flies quickly. I'll just be in my room waiting for your return. How is that hard?" N asked, lifting the Poké Ball to his face. He looked at it before kissing it gently. Zekrom's face appeared, red eyes staring intensely at his Trainer. N stared back, smiling.
"Uhh, very hard? Didn't you just hear me? I have a wife and a kingdom to look after! I have no—N . . . what are you thinking?"
"For you to ride on Zekrom and bring back Touko and Cheren. I have a feeling they have a Shaymin, but something or someone has gotten in their way. It's quite easy. I'll explain everything to your mother if you are worried, of course," N said, looking back at the younger man. Touya waved his arms.
"No, I'm not scared of my mom! It's just . . . my wife, and . . . well, tonight . . ."
"What about tonight?" N questioned.
Touya blushed and looked at the ground. "N-never mind. Just, explain the situation, okay? Please? Tell her I'll make it up to her when I come back, and I'll be the best king ever. So . . . release the beast or whatever, hurry up . . ."
Throwing the Poké Ball up, Zekrom flew into the air, electricity flying around him. He roared, stretching his limbs as he took flight. Staring down, he eyed N for a command. Touya's jaw dropped, staring up at the Legendary Pokémon. For the past two months of watching N, he had never seen the legend in person. With its large body with such power that can destroy an entire region if possible, Touya didn't know how N could handle such a Pokémon. He swallowed nervously, looking at N as the green-haired prince looked at him with a smile. The king never knew what went through his friend's mind; it was a mystery when he smiled like that . . .
"Touya, please return Touko safely"—he looked at Zekrom—"and my friend, please find Reshiram and Touko and return them, alongside Cheren and Touya."
The Pokémon lifted his head, eyes staring down. He moved lower, claws stretching as his mouth opened. Touya stared at the sharp teeth that appeared, blinking. Was N serious for letting him ride a Legendary Pokémon that scared him to death? Zekrom looked like he was about to eat something!
"Is this your command?" he growled, gaze never leaving his master's. N nodded, lifting his hand to point to the sky. With a small nod of approval, Zekrom leaned forward, his web-like arm touching the ground. Red eyes staring at Touya, he closed his mouth. After he stepped on the Dragon-Type's hand, Zekrom lifted him to his neck, where he sat down. Grabbing the Pokémon tightly, Touya felt every movement as the Pokémon rose higher into the sky. Touya stared down, N waving.
"Have a fun trip, Touya—may Arceus be with you!"
"Oh, he better be with me!" Touya cried, holding the Pokémon as he flew away quickly. N dropped his arm to his side, watching as Zekrom flew further and further away. The sun made the sky an orange color, pink hinting on the clouds in such a wonderful way. Once his Pokémon was out of sight, he turned around, walking towards the castle slowly. His smile fell from his lips; he listened as his shoes clacked against stone. Opening the back doors to the castle, he entered.
"My, my . . . I'm alone once more. Hmm, now how will I explain to the queen herself about this situation?" he thought out loud, walking down a hall towards the flight of stairs. Guards stood near the doors, heads held high. They never moved when N passed, walking up the stairs. Once on the second floor, he turned left towards where the Queen's room was. Large paintings hung on the wall, and he looked at each one. He never went down the hallway to Touko's mother's room, so he stopped at each picture. Flowers, mountains, and villages were painted. Simple, ordinary paintings, but one caught his eyes near the room of the queen: it was Zekrom and Reshiram, flying around each other to form a circle. One side had electricity, dark with black clouds, while the other had fire with soft clouds. In the middle was a small stone in the shape of a heart.
"N, what are you doing down here alone?"
He ripped his gaze from the painting, seeing as the queen stood before him. Pressing his hand in a kind manner, he lowered his head. She tilted her own, walking forward to look at the painting as well.
"That is a very old picture, dating back when the castle was first built upon these lands. If I remember right, Zekrom is trying to represent darkness and pain, while Reshiram represents light and happiness. But with both together, life forms, and love will always be stronger than the two. Interesting how people thought then compared to now, don't you think?"
"It is, but somehow we all think in the same way. Ma'am, I need to say that Touya has ridden Zekrom to where Touko is. My Pokémon was sensing something was wrong, so please, pardon Touya's disappearance. I'll stay in my room until he comes back with Touko and Cheren, if you would like," N murmured, lifting his head. She stared.
"Touya has left the lands?"
"Yes, Your Majesty."
"If he is after Touko with Zekrom, he should be fine. Even though he may act nervous, he is strong. N, how would you like to eat breakfast with me in my room in the morning? I would like to . . . talk, if it is fine," she said. His eyes widened slightly, noticing her smile.
"P-pardon?" N stuttered. Maybe he heard wrong?
"I would like to have breakfast with you in my room. While Touya is bringing Touko back home, we can talk to each other. I'm not always going to be the bad guy, you know."
He smiled, releasing a satisfied sigh. Bowing, he agreed before walking to the other side of the castle, towards his room. Was she seriously going to become friendly with him? Did the queen not have a grudge against him anymore? Or maybe she knew Touko finally caught a Shaymin, or perhaps she understood N more than in the past. He wasn't sure himself, but was glad she was beginning to take liking to him.
A/N: Is she seriously gonna let the Queen just become friends with N now? How does she know about Shaymin already? Questions, questions, yes I know. Remember Touya's Zorua? Well, that's a secret messenger and blah, blah, BLAH. And besides, would you hate a person who did no wrong doing at such a young age? Plus Touko trusts him so she would try as well.
PLEASE REVIEW AND WAIT TILL THE NEXT ONE IS UP! Love you all Reshi's~!
