Chapter Four: The Meeting Part One

A.N.- I am so sorry for the long wait! I ran out of inspiration and I was having trouble with school for a little bit. Between school and Fanfic I had to put school first so sorry and here is your next chapter! Don't forget to read the ending by the way.

Nobody's POV

By lunchtime the next day the future superheroes acted like how they normally would. Kim, Grace, and Julie sat by each other talking about who knows what. Across from them were Milton, Jerry, and Jack, who were doing, well, who knows what. Donna was texting who knows who while taking halfhearted sips from the fruit punch (literally the ONLY edible thing from the school lunches). In other words, they were all doing their own thing. If only they knew that they would be in the same place in a few hours from now…

Kim's POV

Ugh. Finally out of that cave of a classroom. I raced towards my locker only to find Jack leaning on it in boredom. I wasted no time running over to him and poking him in the head. Nothing. I poke him again but harder. Still nothing. What's wrong with this boy?

I looked over his shoulder to see him staring at something. Or someone, I should say. I squinted my eyes to see Chelsee Morgan's long brown hair as she searched for something in her locker. Chelsee was a really nice girl as long as if you haven't angered her in any way. Long story short, she was the kind of person that proves revenge is best served cold. In addition to that she's one of Donna's henchmen, already making her a little more evil. Funny, she's the nicest of the posse. The boys think she's hot because she curls her brown hair everyday, which looks pretty good, I'll give her that. But now Jack's apart of that entourage. Great. They can spend their time collaborating on hair supplies or something for all I care.

I slammed my fist an inch away from the back of Jack's head so that he could move. It worked and he practically fell into the student stampede. Before he could get trampled I offered him my hand, which he took quickly. I couldn't let him get a black eye on his beautiful brown orbs- wait what are you talking about Kim? Back to the point. My 2nd degree black belt of a friend blocked my locker and paid the price for it. I also happen to like him. Maybe just a little bit. Well, just a smudge.

"Are you OK, Kim? You look angry and confused all at the same time." Jack asked.

"I'm fine. Just needed you to move because you were leaning on my locker. You know that, right?" I asked.

"Of course I do. You're my best friend! I'm supposed to know where your locker is!" Jack cheered happily. I smile on the outside but a piece of my heart got chipped off on the inside. Ouch. That kind of hurt. Let me just admit that I like Jack now and save myself the insane inner conscious arguments most people who like someone have.

Like this one? To contribute to this conversation, since you took my role of convincing you that you like Jack, I'll take the role of convincing you otherwise. Got it?

Shut up.

Make me.

Hmm. I have one mean inner conscious.

Deal with it.

Shut up.

No.

SHUT UP!

Nada.

OK this just got weird. Now all I need to do is find a valid excuse for missing cheerleading today.

"KIMMMMMMM! CAN YOU HERE ME?" Jack impatiently asked.

"Huh? Oh sorry. You were saying?" I urged him to continue, embarrassed.

"Well I need to go home and I won't be able to go to the dojo today. Bye Kimmy." Jack said. I started to ask why he needed to go home when I saw his smirk and realized what he had called me.

"Don't call me Kimmy, Jack!" I yell annoyed but he is already walking down the hallway.

I sigh. That was a pretty hot smirk.

No it wasn't and you know it. Inner conscious Kim says.

I sigh again. When will this annoying voice stop?

Donna's POV

I sighed in annoyance as I applied another layer of red lip-gloss. I could see Jack and Kim talking from across the hall. One benefit of having a locker right across from the hottest boy in school is that it's easy to spy on him and get info on what's happening. Right now I'm just annoyed with stinking Kimberly Crawford.

'Oh Kim is so hot. She's so nice.' This is what I hear almost every single day in these messed up school hallways. I'm sick and tired of her stealing my spotlight. I tried to be patient; I even had a whole system planned out. It was the kind where you had three strikes and you're out. I'm not one for baseball but oh well. First she is chosen to be cheer captain after Grace resigns. Strike one. Then she decides to join the school news paper after I auditioned. Strike two. Now she turns the school against me, turns Jack against me, befriends Jack AND flirts with him? That's strikes three to seven. Like, seriously? Four strikes in one? Ooh, she's good.

Now, back to the real matter at hand. How can I get out of cheerleading and make it to the forest? I mean, cheerleading is one thing but outdoors? Nuh uh. I usually wouldn't dare step foot in those filthy plants and itchy insects. But for some reason, I was intrigued. This was the most passionate I've felt about anything in a while. If you know me then you would know that I don't like to be kept out of the loop. The last time I did that it cost a person's life.

Throughout this internal conversation with myself I was walking to the gym and nearly slammed into the door. Heh, heh, let's pretend those last few seconds didn't happen. I reached for the door but another hand beat me to it. I looked up to see a pair of angry brown eyes that belong to the "innocent" Kimberly Crawford.

"Shove off, Tobinsky." Kim practically growled as she opened the door and walked inside. I walked in after her happily. She was pissed and I'm loving it!

"What the hell's your problem today Kimmy?" I asked her in a taunting voice. She slowly turned around and rushed back to me, her face as red as Spiderman's costume.

"What did you just say, Tobin? I didn't hear you. I need to make sure I heard right before I threaten to pummel you six feet under." She said in an unusually calm voice as she inched towards me. Moving backwards I suddenly crash into something cold and metallic. Aaah, it's cold. Cold, cold, cold, cold- "Tobinsky, are you even listening?" Oh, forgot about her for a second.

"I suggest you head to the gym. You're fucking late." I sneered at her. I just wanted her out of my personal bubble.

"You're also fucking late Tobin. Just stay out of my way today and we'll get through this practice, okay?" I nodded in agreement and she smiled.

"Good. For once Tobin, you understand." Kim stated. She had started to change by then.

"That's not true!" I exclaimed as I angrily threw off my own shirt. It was Chanel but I was too angry to care. Kim looked at me with a neutral look but I could sense some shock behind her façade. By then we had both changed into our shorts and were tying our sneakers.

"Woah, Tobin calm down. I never thought you had it in you. Well, people change. I'm out." Kim said as she looked at her watch and left the room. I sighed, threw my bag into a locker, and followed the footsteps of the girl.

When I walked into the gym I was greeted with my team who were crowded around a figure. I fumbled with the hem of my tank top as recognized the blond haired beauty who had threatened to murder me less than two minutes ago.

"I'm sorry guys, I've told you already. I can't do today's practice." Kim reminded them regretfully. Grace marched up to Kim, who flinched at her best friend's red face.

"We need to do the pyramid today. The pyramid! We need a third support with strong arms like you to keep us up! The last thing we need is another pyramid fail, meaning that we need you so that we don't use Karen like last time, Kim." Karen's blue eyes flashed angrily at Grace, who stuck her tongue out in retaliation. "It was your fault and you know it, Karen."

I stared at the group as they bickered and temporarily forgot about the cheerleader trying to leave them. God, what's wrong with this group and anger management? We are so dramatic. Either way, I'm the head cheerleader, for pete's sake [1]. I cleared my throat and grabbed the attention of the girls.

"Guys, not only is Kim leaving, I am too." Everyone gasped but I brushed them off, continuing my lie. "Sadly both of our mothers are forcing us to attend a potluck-"

"You guys aren't attending a potluck. Kimmy over here"- Kim winced at the nickname- "Would have warned me." Grace has her head stuck so far up her-

"Grace," Kim (who I'm glad is going along with this) interrupted her angry friend. "It's not someone you know AND this was a last minute thing. My mom just sent me a text right before practice and I'm assuming the thing happened to Donna."

"Exactly. Kim whacked the nail. Hit the nail. Whatever the saying is! All we're trying to say is that we need to miss today's practice. Okay? Comprende? Good. Adiós! We're late!" With that, I grabbed Kim's wrist and dragged her out of the gym before more questions could be fired at us. Kim jerked away from me when we walked out of school.

"What was that, Tobin?" Surprisingly, Kim was not being mean, but was curious. "You were being… nice and –never thought I'd say this- helpful. Where's the evil queen I knew fifteen minutes ago?" I scowled at her.

"Don't get used to it Crawford. I needed to get out. You needed to get out. You and I both know that without the head cheerleader's consent, it would have been twice as hard." I made sure to emphasize my position as head cheerleader.

"Oh Donna, you know how to ruin the greatest of moments."

"Look at you, miss I-just-called-a-girl-an-evil-queen." She shrugged.

"Where are you going, Tobin?" As if I'm going to tell her.

"None of your beeswax, Crowford. Now ca-caw out of here so that we can finally go our separate ways." That was my nickname for her when we started seventh grade because her last name reminded me of a crow.

"Well, see you tomorrow… I guess." I don't know why I said it, but the words flew out of my mouth. Kim sent me another look of surprise before nodding in reply. It was like back in sixth grade when we were really close.

With that, we both went separate directions. What we didn't know is that we would be seeing more of each other before the day was done.

*[1] The cheerleader thing is a little mixed up, since in the first chapter I say Kim's the head cheerleader. I'm working on fixing that.

OMG IT HAS BEEN SO LONG. SO, FOR STARTERS, I'M SORRY THAT I HAD TO BE A JERK BY PUTTING THIS OFF FOR TWO YEARS! DANG, IT HAS BEEN LONG AND I'M SO GLAD I UPDATED. I WENT ON A SERIOUS CASE OF WRITER'S BLOCK FOR THIS STORY IN PARTICULAR. I HAVE OTHER STORY IDEAS THAT I'VE BEEN WORKING ON BUT I DIDN'T POST THEM SINCE IT WOULD FEEL REALLY WEIRD FOR ME. I'M SO GLAD I COULD COME BACK TO THIS STORY. READ THE OTHER MESSAGE BELOW THAT I PRE-WROTE FOR YOU GUYS! GOSH IT FEELS GOOD TO BE BACK.

Dear faithful, awesome readers,

Hi it's me Dovewoman951. It's been over a year since I've updated (aren't I kind) and I'm sorry to say that I'm going to put this story on hold. I honestly ran out of juice for power ranger related things and got bored with the subject. Until I have a better idea of what I want to do with the story it'll be on hiatus. I do know where I'm going with it; I just don't know how to put it in words yet. My writing won't, though. As I've stated above, I've got other bright ideas that I would love to share with you guys (before anyone else steals them, I can be greedy…). Sadly I cannot give you a possible time I will come back to this; I may never come back to it. If there's one thing I can tell you, it's that this situation will most likely not come to that. I finish what I start, no matter how long it takes or how I finish it.
