Heila and the others sat down in the chair and looked at Flora.
"We're listening." Heila said with a small smile to relax her.
"This was originally created so the princess wouldn't lose all of her power when she is married." Flora began to explain.
"This was after the whole Drake thing right?" Layla asked.
"Correct. When she broke it off with him, she had her freedom to do whatever she wanted." Linus added.
"Then we knew that when a woman is married, her job immediately goes to her husband." Anubis explained in a disappointed tone."No matter what the occupation is. Whether it be a shop keeper or a CEO." He added sadly.
"That seems dumb as hell." Musa said with a hint of annoyance.
"So the women working in the shops," Sky started to ask.
"Single. In the rare occasion fiancee." Linus answered.
"Linphea seemed like a understanding and progressive planet." Tecna said in shock.
"It was once upon a time. Then my backwards grandparents got involved and things just didn't change. Until now." Flora said with confidence.
"And this law that you are creating will change that?" Stella asked with a curious look on her face.
"Only if we can get it passed. The point of the law is to make it so that a women can have her own records. On Linphea, everyone has a public record. When a woman becomes married, their record goes to their husband. In her record contains everything from their accounts to their resumes." Flora explained.
"So the law will release the records back to the women." Brandon said as the wheels started to turn in everyone's heads.
"Meaning that they can have their jobs after they are married." Timmy added.
"Including when they are divorced or widowed." Linus added.
"That's actually a great plan." Riven said after he thought about it.
"But the council will never vote for a public known law. Why, however, is a different story?" Flora said with a small sigh.
"And now Drake knows about the law and threaten to expose it." Anubis added while looking at Flora with an odd look.
"What does he want?" Nabu asked.
"One million dollars by tomorrow." Linus answered which made Flora slightly cringe.
"What!?" The gang shouted in shock.
"There's no way we can pay him by tomorrow. We are dead broke." Flora said while she leaned on Heila for comfort.
"What are you going to do?" Bloom asked.
"We don't know. We need to shut down the bill and stop the vote. The council votes tomorrow. The day before the ball." Flora said while she emphasizes on the before.
"Flo, I think I have an idea." Heila said with a small smirk.
"Babe. I don't want you involved with this. He told me to warn you to watch your back. I'm worried about your safety." Flora said with concern in her voice.
"Don't worry about me my flower. I'll be okay. This will have a happy ending for everybody, but him." Heila said while kissing her temple in comfort.
"I'm listening." Flora said with an intense look on her face.
