Together We Make Shadows

Summary: The Death Eaters are after a book called the Millennium Tome, but they've run into a problem. The tomb it's kept in requires teamwork from a dark magic user and a light magic user. They've tried forcing a light magic user to help them gain what they desire without any luck due to both magic users needing to co-operate. Will the Death Eaters get the book or will a still recovering teenager get in there way once again?

Chapter One

It had been a couple of months since Seto Kaiba had returned to Japan after his long capture in England, his physical wounds had long since healed and physically there was nothing wrong with him but he found he was still having times he was trapped in his own mind and everything was hazy, he still had uncontrollable muscle twitches over his whole body and could only walk for a short amount of time, the doctors could come to no explanation to why and usually told him it was stress from his job, recent capture or past trauma, related to his coma from a few years ago which was just as unexplainable as his current condition to the doctors at least or some mental condition and recommended he see a psychiatrist. The magical doctors that had seen him before he left where constantly surprised that he could even walk in the first place and according to them he should be trapped in his own mind constantly and it was a miracle that he could function at all. The other students at school had got used to seeing him in a wheel chair and his vacant stare when he was trapped in his own mind which thankfully didn't happen too often but was still frequent enough that it no longer concerned his teachers at school, Mokuba on the other hand hadn't it scared and worried his little brother every time he went into a state where he was trapped in his own mind.

The younger boy was trying to be strong for his sake and it hurt him to see Mokuba in emotional pain because of his suffering. He'd never overly considered that his own suffering caused his brother suffering, in the past all he'd ever really considered was his brothers own health and not his own, he really hadn't seen his own health as being important, he honestly didn't care if he lived or died, as long as Mokuba was safe, healthy and happy. A part of him was still amazed that people cared about him and had gone looking for him, Yugi was border line having to repeat second year because of the amount of school he'd missed in order to help search for him not to mention the schooling he'd already missed because of duel tournaments and Millennium Item mishaps. Joey had told him that it hadn't been the same without him in the most insulting way possible which he'd been all to happy to return the insults smiling the whole time they were trading insults, he was all too happy to trade insults with the mutt and way glad to see that he wasn't treated any different from the blond haired teen. Ryou had run up and hugged him so glad to see him back safe and well before remembering that the CEO of Kaiba Corporation didn't like anyone touching him. Embarrassingly he apologized. Over his shoulder he could see the possessive spirit examining him and only returning to the ring after Ryou had stepped back. He'd always been able to see the spirits; not that he'd admit it to anyone but had found it harder to distinguish between who was the physical person and who was the translucent spirit form. When he was in a room of other people it was easy to distinguish but whenever he was alone with Yugi he couldn't always tell.

He sat in the back of the classroom by himself in his usual spot, he'd had to kick a new student out of his spot on his second day back at school, he'd attended his first day back at school with the second year students since he'd missed to much school to progress to the third year but the teacher of the class and the other students had been so distracted by the unhealthy billionaire that they allowed him to rejoin his third year class which wasn't as hectic for the school since the third year students where used to attending classes with him. He was happy when the school came to him with a special deal that he could graduate if he managed to attend enough school this year and did homework, assignments and tests for both second and third year. Since he was no longer doing Kaiba Corp business everyday and the fact that he didn't want to be at school longer than necessary he agreed to do the two years of school in one year, only reason he hadn't done multiple schools years sooner was he felt like he was a normal person attending the public school and doing work with students his own age, he clung to that slight normality since everything else in his life was anything but normal. It was one of the reasons he denied magic existed for so long, he wanted normal and magic was anything but normal, it just added another factor to his life that wasn't normal.

He caught Yugi glancing in his direction; the other boy could read him and could always tell when he wanted to just be left alone though he still had a tendency to bug him when he wanted to be left alone, sometimes the other boy felt that he shouldn't be left alone even though that was all he wanted and considering his state of mind and health it was probably for the best that Yugi was around at those times. He smiled at his first true friend to let him know that he was currently alright. It was a quick true smile and Yugi always brightened up whenever he'd send a true smile his way. He'd always had trouble making friends and was happy to say he currently had two true friends. Yugi and Luna. Then Joey and Ryou who he'd realised where friends on coming home. And then his acquaintances that he wasn't quite sure if they were considered friends or not especially considering how cold he was to them Tea Gardner, Tristan Taylor and Duke Devilin. Then there was Ishizu Ishtar, he didn't know what to make of her either, he didn't consider her a friends, she was a business contact but he'd allowed her in closer than most of his business contacts, she called him a friend and she irritated him, but if he ever needed help with anything she'd be there, insisting that magic was real the whole way.

He watched as a few of his classmates played duel monsters and other games while waiting for the teacher to turn up. He hadn't really been in the mood to duel since two of his favourite cards had been destroyed as well as several of his cards from his father. He wasn't in the mood to rebuild his deck and working out a new strategy without his favourite cards. Yugi and Mokuba where the only two that knew about the destruction of his cards, he'd kept them all even though he couldn't use them in a duel, a part of him hoping that one day they could be repaired. He had considered having Luna repair them with modern magic but it didn't feel right to repair them with modern magic, it felt like it would be an insult to his cards, the part of him that was the priest of Egypt that he constantly pushed out which had been awakened by his treatment while captured whispered that the cards could be healed with the shadows. A power he'd tapped into multiple times in the past, subconsciously and more recently consciously. It still scared him, the shadow magic, he didn't like the unknown and that was exactly what the Shadows where. The feeling of magic made him uneasy, he didn't like it.

He glanced over at the new student in their class, the one he had to kick out of his chair on the second day back, he was loud and obnoxious and something about him rubbed him the wrong way. He got along with Wheeler like a house on fire as well and also got along with Yugi and most of his other friends. For some odd reason he didn't get along with Ryou Bakura and would often make the other boy cry, seeing Ryou cry made him feel like he was watching Mokuba cry and just wanted to go over and beat the person causing his brother pain. It was odd he'd never been like that around Bakura before, and found himself thinking the same way about Yugi. Like they where his family. The only thing he could think of was the fact they both contained the same form of magic that he himself had, and was curious to know if he would feel the same way about the Ishtar siblings the next time he saw them. He couldn't see why the new student didn't like Bakura he was quiet and normally kept to himself and tried not to do anything to upset anyone, unless he was controlled by his other personality and so far Kaiba hadn't seen any sign of the half Japanese boy changing personality, the spirit seemed to stand nearby glaring at the red headed English teenager. The boy's sister who was in second year didn't like Bakura either. They had started school sometime after Christmas and where living with their older brother. From what he'd heard the girl didn't want to leave her old school.

"Slytherin basted" he heard the new student say under his breath.

He glared at the new student, he knew that word. It was the one of the houses of the school that Luna went to, the house that Draco Malfoy was in. It would explain a lot if the new kid did go to Hogwarts, he had no road sense and got excited when he saw normal everyday items such as mobile phones, traffic lights, battery charger, twist ties, plastic zip lock bags, vending machines, cd's etc ... Maybe the spirit knew the other boy was magic and why he hadn't swapped with Ryou as often.

"Honestly Ronald, I don't like him either but you have to careful about what you say. Remember what Bill told us, a lot of students here know English so you have to be careful no matter what language you speak in." the new student was being scolded by a girl in a younger grade that was his sister. Both had flaming red hair and freckles.

Concentrating on the students he could sense a similar feeling off them as he got from the accountant in his London office. It took slightly more concentration then if he'd been healthy, heck if he'd been healthy he would've sensed without even trying. The same feeling from the Death Eaters who'd kept him as a prisoner for four months, the same feeling that Luna had. Magic! It was a lot harder to deny magic was real after what had happened to recently.

"What are you looking at!" the girl shouted at him in English, he wasn't aware if she knew she was speaking English or not, then again she might be using a translation spell, Yugi had one put on him after a couple of days at the Hogwarts hospital wing when things had quietened down enough and the staff realised the young Japanese boy spoke limited English.

"I'm just trying to work out why you don't like the Bakura" he'd b been tempted to say schizophrenic freak. He replied to her in the same language, glad his speech was only slightly slurred today. As far as he was aware neither them had meet his psychotic personality yet, just the annoying sickly sweet one who constantly wants to make friend with everyone.

"You can speak English" Ron exclaimed in absolute shock. "I thought you where you know ... dumb."

He laughed at him with one of his evil laughs and followed up with a twitchy grin. "I'll have you know that I'm the number one student in the whole school, even with my current health issues."

"If you're the number one student how come you're repeating the second year?" The girl taunted him. "You're meant to be in my class and I heard that the only reason you're in my brothers class is because you where disrupting classes."

He could feel his mind slipping again, he tried to hold on, he wanted to argue with the two magic students a bit more and discover more about why they didn't like Ryou Bakura but it was no use. He was trapped in his own mind again.

KC

"Hey you can't just ignore me" the girl shouted at Kaiba. "I was talking to you!"

"Ginny, he's not going to respond" Yugi told the girl, sending a worrying glance over to Kaiba who was just staring with glassy eyes, his muscles still twitching.

"Gross, he's drooling" Ron stated, he hadn't really paid much attention to the wheel chair bound student other then noticing when he had an outburst every now and again and that he sometimes participated in sports. The funniest outburst had been about magic not being real.

"What just happened?" she asked with concern.

"He's not well" Yugi replied not elaborating grabbing a hankie out of Kaiba's bag and wiping the drool away and closing his eyes so they wouldn't dry out to much. "He hasn't been for the last few months. He missed too much school last year due to his health, that's why he's repeating."

"Why come to school if he's not well, why not wait till he's better?" Ron asked.

"He might never be well again" Yugi took his seat keeping an eye on the slightly younger teenager, making sure the other students left him alone. "And wanted some normalcy back in his life."

The younger sibling of the new student left when the teacher arrived, the teacher told all the students take their place and began teaching the class, ignoring Seto Kaiba's current state she'd after all she'd seen it before, and honestly class when by a lot smoother when he wasn't pointing out facts she'd got wrong and going into great detail about why she was wrong.

KC

Ronald grumbled as the teacher entered the classroom, he hated the Japanese school, the work was even harder than the work the teachers gave them at Hogwarts beside who needed subjects like maths when there was spells to automatically do the tallying for you, and learning other languages when you could just use a translation charm, home equality or whatever they called it where they taught you how to cook as sew, that what mothers taught their daughter before going to Hogwarts and during summer. And the business and computer subjects made absolutely no sense. Science was the strangest subject, honestly muggles tried to explain everything with science when it was clearly wrong, magic after all was the answer.

Every day he was here the guilt for leaving Harry and Hermione become stronger and stronger, it had been a stupid fight influenced by the horcrux and he'd realised how silly he'd been right after he'd left them and was no longer affected by the horcurx, but by that point it had been too late and his best friends had already moved on by the time he'd cooled down enough and thought everything through. Not wanting to enrage his mother he'd gone to his brother Bill and sister in-law Fleur since he couldn't go wandering around alone especially after he'd been attacked twice between leaving his girlfriend and best friend and before he made it to Bills. With how he stormed out he wasn't even sure if Hermione was his girlfriend any longer, but until he knew for sure he wouldn't date anyone, no matter how temping some of the girls at his new school where heck even some of the guys where tempting and he didn't like guys. The last thing he needed was to get her angry at him for cheating or assuming they were broken up and he hoped he hadn't burnt his bridges with Harry, it wasn't the first time he'd had a major fight with his best friend after all.

He hadn't been at Bills long when he'd been discovered by their mother, it was Christmas holidays and his mother was in a fluster and Ginny was in tears.

KC

"Ron" his sister actually hugged him willingly without being forced by their parents. "It's awful, the Death Eaters took Luna and the DA couldn't do anything to stop it, it was awful" she sobbed. "I was so worried sick about you, Harry and Hermione. I'm glad you're alright. Where's Harry, is he alright, are they both dead?"

He assured his mother and sister that Harry and Hermione where both fine the last time he'd seen them. His mother scolded him for leaving with his two best friends and for them making her worry sick about them, and then scolded him for leaving home in the first place and a finally scolding for not coming straight home once he'd left. Bill also got a scolding for keeping his whereabouts a secret from their mother.

"I've been offered a job in Japan, with Fleur being pregnant I'm considered taking her out of the country for protection. If we do go to Japan we can take Ginny and Ron with us. Hogwarts isn't safe for them anymore, no-where in Europe is safe." Bill told his mother.

"I don't want to go to Japan, I need to find Luna" Ginny shouted at her mother in disagreement before the Weasley mother could even answer.

"And I need to find Harry and Hermione, we're a part of this war to, we need to help. And I'm of age now, nothing you can do will stop me" Ron continued after his sister.

"I don't care if you're of age or not, I'm your mother and nothing you can do will stop me from protecting you in the best way I know how. You're going to Japan with your brother and nothing you can do or say will stop me from keeping you safe."

KC

The move had happened rather quickly and before the youngest Weasley's knew it they were in Japan taking entrance exams to even be allowed to attend school. Unfortunately they both failed the exams and ended up at Domino High School which was known for its delinquents and bullies. Though not everyone was like that, some of the students attended simply because it was there local school. It was partway through a school year when they'd started school and they'd already changed school years since they'd started at just after Christmas. If he was still at Hogwarts he'd be on holidays at the moment and would've finished his schooling. Due to his and Ginnys ages he should've started in the third year and now be finished but due to his poor marks he'd been placed in second year. Not wanting the two children in the same year and getting mistaken for twins Ginny had been placed in the first year not that her scores had been much better than his own, Japanese muggle schools exams where hard. It was strange advancing year levels and not taking a long break before starting a new school year.

He glared at Ryan once again, the white haired boy had been in his sisters grade at school but had left at the end of his fourth year due to some incident with Professor Umbridge. He was a dirty Slytherin snake. The sneaky Slytherin had somehow managed to follow them to the school and alter everyone's memories to make it appear that he'd been at the school a lot longer; making himself friends with the same people he was friends with. It had to have been done with dark magic otherwise why would he be attending a muggle school in Japan? The same school that he'd been forced to attend, it couldn't be a coincidence.

It was the final class of the day time when Seto left his own mind and re-entered the land of the living, it took a moment to gather his bearings and realise he wasn't in that dungeon, that Luna wasn't anywhere around and that no one was coming to torture him, if you didn't count the teacher dropping a pile of homework on his desk.

"Glad to see you back in the land of the living" the teacher told him before she walked back to the front of the class.

Yugi gave him a happy smile, genuinely happy he was conscious again. Ron was still giving Bakura hateful glances.

He took a moment to compose himself and get control of his breathing with a shaky hand he picked up his pen and started working on the homework which had been piled up on his desk during the day and listening to the teacher talk. He had done a fair amount of homework by the time the bell rang signalling the end of school for the day.

"Do you want me to wheel you down to the gate to meet your driver?" Yugi asked him, the rest of his friends hovering nearby.

"Let's see if I can stand first" he replied slowly, the wheel chair pulled back from his desk just enough so he could attempt to stand. It felt good to move, he was stiff from sitting all day, and it's not comfortable to slip into la la land for a few hours while sitting up. As much as he hated relying on help from anyone he had to get used to it due to his current situation. Though he still tried to do as much by himself as possible, the only thing keeping him from going overboard was the thought of his brother, he'd after all promised Mokuba that he wouldn't overwork himself and he always tried to keep the promises he made to his younger brother. Yugi waited patiently as he took careful steps, giving him encouraging smiles that sickened him, waiting while he was getting his bearings. He sighed with relief that he was able to walk today. He wasn't sure for how long he'd be able to walk for but it was something, he could feel the Shadow magic that he'd got use to while he was captured easing the pain slightly. Not that he'd ever show these nerds or anyone else how much pain he was actually in, this was nothing compared to when he was being tortured or his 'lessons' from his step father and was able to mask his pain from everyone including his younger brother.

"I'll take his chair" Tristan offer. All of Yugi's friends took turns wheeling him down to the gate, or taking his chair on the days he could walk even the mutt Wheeler. He hated being so weak. He hated relying on others. It went against everything he'd been taught, and maybe in the long run that was a good thing since those lessons came from Gozaburo Kaiba. His mother and fathers lessons while he was growing up after all where different from what the businessman had taught him. His mother always told him to be kind, look out for others, do the best that he could be but don't be discouraged if he failed at anything, study hard but studying wasn't everything. All his parents had ever wanted from him was to be happy and healthy and to watch out for his brother. He defiantly wasn't happy or healthy at the moment, but he was doing his best to keep an eye out for Mokuba, and attempting to give him a happy childhood without spoiling him rotten, though it was so tempting to spoil his little brother rotten, but he knew that wasn't in his brothers best interest in the long run.

KC

Another red head was at the gate waiting with the Ginny girl who had yelled at him earlier in the day, he watched with amusement as his younger brother talked to her. It was obvious that Mokuba had a crush on the red head, though she was too old for him. He'd seen the older red head on several occasions, sometimes with a blond haired woman the boys seemed to go crazy over even though she had a baby. The woman he assumed was the older brother's wife and today she wasn't around.

"Kaiba" Mokuba yelled out with glee and ran to him giving him a hug. "I'm happy to see you're able to walk to the car this afternoon. How was the rest of the school day? Did you ..."

He trailed off. "I was trapped in my own mind most of the day" honestly he told the younger boy, he could see the heart break in his brothers eyes. He wanted to lie to his brother so he didn't have to see the heart break every day but he didn't want to give the boy false hope. He needed to be honest when it came to his health so that everyone around him knew what to expect, lying would only hurt Mokuba in the long run.

"Seto, this is Bill Weasley." His younger brother introduced him to the relative of the two foreign students. "He's an archaeologist working with the Domino museum, they've added a few new items to the Egyptian display. Can we go see it please?"

He didn't particularly want to go, after the walk from the school to the front gate he was ready to go home and have a sleep. But one look at his brother pleading eyes he gave in, visiting the museum was educational and it gave his brother a chance to interact with other people, even if those other people where Yugi, Wheeler and their friends. Mokuba really needed to find more friends his own age, but he knew that Mokuba had an easier time getting along with older people. Maybe he should encourage Mokuba to spend more time with Rebecca Hawkins and Wheelers younger sister, they where both his age, his brother also needed some male friends his own age. Oh well, at least his younger brother actually got along with other people unlike himself.

KC

He ended up going to the museum with his brother, Yugi and the rest of the dweeb patrol. He just couldn't say no to his younger brother and he did promise himself that he'd spend more time with his brother which didn't involve work.

"What's he doing here?" Ron asked in a rather rude tone of voice as they entered the museum.

"I have no clue, I wasn't expecting to see him at all" Ginny replied, equally shocked to see the person at the top of the stairs.

The person at the top of the stairs waved happily and ran to greet them ignoring the two young red heads.

"Yugi, Bakura, guys" he greeted everyone giving the two duellists he'd named a hug.

"Marik, we had no idea you where back in the country" Yugi greeted him happily.

"Ishizu and I arrived yesterday, my sister has something she needs to show to yourself and Kaiba. We were going to wait till the weekend to show you, but since you're here now it doesn't hurt to show you now" the Egyptian boy glanced over at him clearly shocked by his health. He was still standing for the time being but was shaking where he stood and a lot thinner, dark bags under his eyes and skin a lot more pale then battle city which would've been the last time Marik saw him.

"I heard that your sister got a job teaching" Tea pointed out as they walked into the museum, making friendly small talk.

"She's teaching at a boarding school in Europe they're on holidays at the moment. I had to go along with her. It was odd going to school after being home schooled all my life, very big difference between being taught at home by my brother and sister then being taught by strangers. I still have one year left because my sister decided that going into final year straight up when the exams are hardest wasn't for the best.

KC

In the museum itself was Ishizu talking to a man that he clearly remembered at the hospital after the accident which had killed his father, the man was Bakura's father. Bakura didn't particularly look like he wanted to see his father and it was obvious why, he looked at his younger son with so much pain in his eyes. Bakura did after all look like his mother and it was obviously too much of a reminder, his own brother looked just like his mother but to him he was thankful to see a part of her still living in his younger brother even though his did miss her greatly. There was a woman with them as well holding a baby the one he'd seen at the school on several occasions Bill Weasley's wife, Bakura's father was clearly flustered by her. All the boys as they came in seemed to be just as flustered. Ryou's blushed with much embarrassment which seemed to be more from his father's reaction to the woman, Joey and Tristan both leered, Yugi looked away slightly flushed and Mokuba walked right up to her and asked the strange woman to marry him, Tea looked like she was going to blow a fuse. He didn't get why all the others were acting like that around her, sure she was pretty but so where a lot of other women. Mokuba ran back to him with embarrassment and buried his head into his shirt, trying to hide from the strange woman and everyone else in the room; he found it amusing to see his brother so clearly embarrassed.

"Fleur" Bill walked over to the lady who had everyone's affection and kissed her on the cheek. "This is my wife" he introduced her. "She doesn't speak Japanese and out daughter Victoire."

"It's a pleasure to meet you all" She said in French, not that the dweebs had understood what she said. He wasn't sure the Mokuba could understand either; he knew his brother could speak English, Chinese and German but wasn't too sure if he could speak French.

"Kaiba, I'm glad to see you looking a lot better than the last time I saw you" Ishizu told him. "How have you been overall?"

"No improvement over the past couple of months" he replied. "Your psychopathic brother said you had something to show Yugi and myself."

He was only thinking about Ishizu earlier that day, and he did get a slightly more protective feeling of her then he did before, on the other hand he didn't get that feeling for Marik who also possessed Shadow Magic and leant towards it must be a reincarnation thing.

Ishizu brushed off the insult to her brother, after all it was his normal way of talking, but Bill and Fleur looked slightly offended. Ryou's father ignored the insult since he was paying more attention to trying to ignore his son then anything going on around him.

He was hoping that they would move inside soon, he was starting to see spots in front of his eyes, but stood composed, he didn't want to show weakness, though he would have to say something soon because making friends with the pavers was going to be more embarrassing then asking for a seat.

"Yes I do, Bakura you should come as well" Ishizu told him. "You three can look at the exhibit with Mrs Weasley. Marik try to stay out of trouble." Keeping Bakrua and Marik separated was a good thing, the Thief King enjoyed stirring up the Tomb keeper just a little too much and Ryou couldn't hold the spirits personality back.

KC

He followed Ishizu and Bill to a private section of the museum. Mokuba was glad that Fleur hadn't come with them and Bakura seemed glad that his father hadn't come. Yugi had to assure his friends that he was going to be okay and that they should enjoy themselves.

They were taken to a room which thankfully had a seat, he was glad for since he knew he was at his limit for walking and standing for now but also didn't want to ask for somewhere to sit down if there hadn't been a seat. His pride could be a curse at times. He took a seat and no-one objected most of the people in the room where aware of how poor his health currently was. Everyone else remained standing even though there was still one other seat free. His brother stood next to him, giving him a worried smile. The younger Kaiba was still red in the face but slowly returning back to his normal colour now that Fleur was out of the way.

"Ryou, you attended Hogwarts till the fifth year if I'm not mistaken" Ishuzu asked him.

"Ah yes, I attended Hogwarts my father withdrew my enrolment after the end of my fourth year not fifth year due to getting picked on a bullied not only by students but a teacher as well." The ring keeper fidgeted while he spoke, slightly nervous to be speaking about the magic school.

"So you weren't expelled like all the other schools you attended" he stated.

The half Japanese boy shook his head no. "I only received the ring after I'd left Hogwarts."

"I got news recently that he who shouldn't be named is looking for information on how to create the Millennium Items, and he will use any method to get the information required." she informed them all.

"How did he get his soul back?" he asked, he was wondering if he'd returned with the fragmented pieces he could detect when he'd sent the snake mans soul to the underworld.

Ishizu went on to explain how he'd split his soul which confirmed his theory. "The good thing is that there is one less soul fragment to search for and he's also in a weakened state at the moment."

"Six fragments in total"

"His snake and that boy both contain his soul fragments" he mentioned after a while.

"Which boy? How could you possibly know something like that?" Weasley asked with much interest and concern at the same time.

His mind of the incident was currently hazy yet his head had been so clear when the incident happened. "Harry Potter" he finally answered after much thinking to try and work out if he had the right name or not. The shadows shifted slightly as if to confirm that yes Harry was the name of the boy.

Weasley gasped. "If Harry has a soul fragment that means there's seven."

"When I was in possession of the Millennium Items I could detect the different soul signatures."

"There are currently two methods of finding the information used to create the Millennium Items." Izhizu told them. "One is finding someone who's a reincarnated of a person with the knowledge."

"And the other method?" Yugi prompted.

"Locating the Millennium Tome." Ishizu told them, the three teenagers weren't surprised that response was expected.

"Finding a reincarnation is pretty much impossible so we can rule that method out" Weasley told them sounding optimistic.

The four re-incarnations shared a glance that wasn't missed by Weasley.

"He may already have the information he's looking for" he replied thinking of the mind intrusion. "He spent four months going through my memories; I'm not sure what he accessed." He didn't think the evil overlord had managed to get any of that information about his past life but he couldn't be certain since those memories where fuzzy.

Bakura gasped in fear as did as if a puzzle piece had just put itself into place the older teenager looked at him with understanding. "I had no idea that's what happened to you" Bakura exclaimed. "It all makes sense now, I knew I recognised your symptoms. It's from the cruciatus curse isn't in."

He nodded his head confirming what Ryou had suspected.

"No wonder Yugi said it was unlikely for you to recover fully." Bakura continued sadly. "You seemed more accepting of the existence of magic since you came back, I'm guessing that's why."

"You're saying that you're a reincarnation with the knowledge of the Millennium Tome." Bill asked in intrigue.

He hesitated and sending a glance to Ishizu, the look in her eyes he knew that she trusted Bill. He nodded his head again, depending on who was asking he'd still deny anything but this was a person who came from the magical world, someone who didn't gain or lose anything by knowing.

"Bakura, do you have knowledge of the items creation?" Ishizu asked the quiet boy.

His personality shifted. "Of course I have the knowledge of how they were created, I was there and witnessed Priest Akhenaden make the items. As much as I want the items for myself, I'm not going to let another lot come into existence. The sacrifice to create the items is too great, it's something that should've never happened in the first place and something I refuse to ever let happen again."

"What type of sacrifice?" Yugi asked, no that wasn't correct it was Pharaoh Atem, not that he knew that was his name, since the young Pharaoh had erased his own name from history. He was pretty sure if he spoke the long forgotten name everyone bar himself and Ishizu would forget and the reincarnation of Mana if one existed. The Shadows where a dangerous thing, and he didn't want to tempt fate by testing his theory out.

"Human lives" he was the one to reply.

"A whole village was sacrificed to make the first lot." The Thief King spat before releasing control back to Ryou.

Yugi looked horrified, as did Ryou. Ishizu had suspected the truth and wasn't surprised to find out a mass sacrifice had happened to make the item. "What about the Millennium Tome, do we know where to look?" Yugi asked, actual Yugi.

"We suspect that it's in Pharaoh Set's tomb." Weasley told them.

"Pharaoh Set" the other Yugi exclaimed, though only he and Yugi heard since Yugi was currently in control of the body. "Yugi, do you think High Priest Set took over after I was sealed in the puzzle?" the response from Yugi wasn't heard since he was most likely replying in his head.

"Do you know where the tomb is?" Bakura asked, actually that was wrong it was the thief king again who asked and he looked a little bit to excitable. He was getting a headache trying to track who was in control.

"We do, but we can't get in" Bill explained about the enchantments on the tomb. "Wizards have known about it for centuries, it's considered the ultimate challenge to be able to break the enchantments, but so far no one has ever got past the first one and we don't think we ever will because it requires cooperation from a wizard with light magic and a wizard with dark magic."

"What's the problem with that?" Yugi asked.

"Can you see a wizard of light and a wizard of darkness getting along with one another?" Bill asked them.

"Wizards consider those with dark magic to be evil and ones with light magic to be good" Ryou explained to them.

"Even if we get in there's no guaranteeing that it will be anywhere in the tomb." Bill stated. "It's been a few millennia since the tomb was sealed and who knows what has happened during the centuries that have passed since it was last seen.

"If his last wish was granted it should be in his sarcophagus" he told them. "And considering the Millennium Necklace and Millennium Rod where left were he entrusted them, I'm assuming the Tome will be as well"

"So are you two willing to open the tomb?" Ishizu asked the reincarnated Pharaohs.

Bill pointed out "But we need a dark and light wizards, and only have light wizards."

"Kaiba magic nature is light magic and Yugi's is dark nature." Izhizu exclaimed. "Plus I believe your interpretation might be incorrect."

"I thought they were both muggles that had knowledge of magic." Weasley pondered, looking at the two boys who he believe where muggles. "And what do you mean that it's incorrect."

"I believe it's referring to magic nature and magic nature has nothing to do with what side of the war the person fight on, it doesn't make them good or evil." Ishizu pointed out.

His headache had developed quickly and was now pounding and he had black spots in front of his eyes. He'd lost track of where he was and what they were discussing. "No such thing as magic" was his automatic response before he'd slipped into the void that was his mind for the second time that day.

Mokuba looked at his brother sadly as he called Roland so they could take him home, there was no point waiting around the museum with an unconscious Kaiba who knew how long it would be before he came to. Mokuba never did get to see the new exhibit that day and Bill Weasley was left pondering about the fact that dark magic nature didn't mean evil villain.

Authors note: Sorry for the long wait, moving house killed my motivation for all writing and a couple of negative reviews on other stories killed it even more. Part two is completed and will be posted weekly until all chapters are up unless busy with other things (aka work).

Thank-you for reading and reviews are much appreciated.
