Together We Make Shadows

Chapter Two

It felt so nice to feel the sun, everyday it was sunny she was outside enjoying it in her birthday suite even when it was raining and miserable she was still likely to be outside enjoying the rain as naked as the day she was born. She loved to feel the sun on her bare skin, it was total freedom and after her months of living in the Malfoy manor she found clothes constraining especially after spending months trapped in one room wearing the same outfit day in day out. Every moment she could be outside she was in the nude. Her skin unblemished even though she was a prisoner of an organisation that thrived on torturing people. She believed the only reason she remained untouched was due to the fact she was and still is a pure blood. The bright sun and the lights of the stars reminded her of her new and close friend Seto and his magic nature. Voldemort had no clue he had one of the most powerful magic users in the universe in his grasps. He was the strongest light natured magic user and no one else came close to his power in light magic. His only equal in power was a dark natured magic user who she was happy to meet in the hospital wing. Seto's closest friend and according to him his first and only true friend Yugi. There magic separately was astonishing, she didn't know how anyone else didn't feel it, it came off the pair in waves, the power was intoxicating and Seto felt powerful by himself but when he was with Yugi his magical aurora constantly mixed with Yugi's magical aurora, they where magically compatible even though their magic nature were the complete opposite. Magical equals. She didn't know how no one else felt in, but maybe they subconsciously did, people that came across Seto seemed to be intimidated by him.

"Luna sweetie, we have a guest coming over" her father called out from the window, his face still covered in ash from his fire call. Not wearing underwear was quiet common with wizards, most where starkers under their robes, but actually going around in the all natural at home wasn't, it was another reason the Lovegood family where considered strange in pureblood society.

With one last look at the sky before heading inside she smiled as at the moon and sun both visible in the sky. If Seto was the Sun, Yugi was the Moon.

Today was a day that he was well enough to walk home from school, though he wasn't walking home he was walking to his company since it had been a while since he'd last been to work and he wanted to check on how everything was going since he was well enough today, his brother would complain that since he was well enough he should play duel monsters or do something that he thought was fun, Mokuba didn't understand that yes even though working stressed him out he loved pushing himself to his limits with the technology he could create, with the facts that he learnt, with the progress the company made, he had fun running his company. What he'd considered fun had always been different to everyone else's it was why he had trouble making friends as a child, no one else found learning, reading as enjoyable as he did. When it came to the strategy games no one else liked playing with him because he was to serious, he hated diverting from the rules to make the game more fun, rules were meant to be diverted to make the games more interesting and challenging not more fun and easier. His poor mother he'd been such a difficult child.

Yugi and his friends were walking on the other side of the road to what he was, making sure that he got to his location safely just in case he collapsed but leaving him alone since he didn't really want to be with other people, he liked being alone, he found it easier to breath when he was by himself. Free to be himself rather than living up to the expectations of being the President of Kaiba Corporation or the son of Gozaburo Kaiba.

"Bloody hell" he heard the male foreign student exclaim as they arrived at their destination, he wished that the nerd patrol had left there so called new friends behind, he didn't like them and felt that they shouldn't have any reason coming with the others to make sure he'd arrived safely at his destination. Because the siblings had come Ryou ended up by himself since he tended to shy away when they were around, and he could tell that Ryou wasn't happy at the moment, no matter how much he tried to show everyone around him that he was. Heck he'd even willingly let the tomb robber in control of his body when he could no longer fake happiness. It was interesting watching the thief king fake being Ryou, he did a good job of it and was able to fake the happiness that Ryou failed to portray. It was interesting that Ryou could not fake being the thief, he'd caught the shy boy trying to act like his darker half one day when he was getting bullied by some of the school bullies who were also involved in gangs and his darker half was floating nearby laughing at the situation, not helping at all.

"Those dragons look so real, my brother Charlie would love them. What kind of place is this?" the sister had exclaimed. The siblings clearly impressed by his choice.

He wondered just how many siblings the Weasley siblings had, he'd met Bill and had heard mention of twins siblings on several occasions. In fact the twins where the most mentioned of their siblings, even more mentioned then Bill who they lived with.

"This is the main branch of the Kaiba Corporation" Yugi told the two English students. It was the first time either of them had seen the building up close, after all you could see the Kaiba Corporation building no matter where you where in the city. "They're the company that released the duel discs and stadiums that we use while playing Duel monsters as well as the theme parks."

He noticed Yugi watching him from the corner of his eye, relief crossing the slightly older boys features as he entered the building. He'd underestimated his ability to walk to the building a few times and had forced his friends to call Roland or one of his other staff to pick him up and take him home. The air conditioning in the building felt so nice, the cool temperature seemed to ease the pain from his nerve damage slightly. He was greeted by Roland a number of staff bowing politely as they recognised their boss.

"Since we're already here you and Joey should both Duel to show the Weasley siblings" Tea suggested.

They booked a stadium room and began their Duel, both siblings looking at everything with much excitement and where both really surprised when they saw the holograms.

"That was amazing, who ever invented this stuff is a genius" Ron exclaimed.

"Don't say that around Kaiba, it will go to his head" Joey replied.

"The same Seto Kaiba you ... we go to school with" Ginny asked them, not believing. She didn't know much about muggle technology but she knew enough to know that what she'd just seen was state of the art. Her father would have a field day if he ever got a chance to see any of this technology. "At school he doesn't really seem like someone who could come up with this type of thing."

"He seems like there something wrong with him" Ron exclaimed bluntly.

"Yugi, you should show them your duel with Kaiba from Battle City" Tristan commented. "It was from before Kaiba got sick."

"Let's go back to my place after our duel to watch it" Yugi agreed.

Seto Kaiba was wondering why he even wanted to come to work in the first place when he saw his workload. So much he had to catch up on, and was grateful for Roland to for filling in for him, unfortunately there were certain things that only he could do and it wasn't the exciting part of work, it was the boring and mundane. He was going to have to borrow one of the Millennium Items from Yugi to get through his work load. He also knew it was time for him to stop for the day, it was taking longer for him to finish typing out complete sentences and at the rate he was going he'd be there all night just trying to complete a page.

"Roland, prepare a car. I'm going home" He told his advisor.

"Yes Mister Kaiba" the older man replied. "Are you able to stand sir?"

He nodded and was still feeling pretty good about walking to the lift and out to the car. Roland had really been a big help, it was nice to know that he had someone who he could rely on without worry of ulterior motives. It had taken a long time to be able to place trust in anyone other than himself, he'd been hurt to many times in the past by people he'd wrongly placed his trust in.

He heard his employees whispering as he walked past, questioning if the company was alright since he hadn't been there long that day. He was glad that he didn't need the wheel chair that afternoon, the whispering would've been even worse if he had. As much as he pretended that the words his staff and others said about him, it hurt when what they said was negative and even when they said something positive about him he'd question if they'd really meant what they'd said.

He was almost home when he felt the now familiar sensation of modern magic as well as the even more familiar shadow magic contained to the millennium items and its wielders. "Stop the car" he instructed his driver as he looked in the direction the magic was coming from. It was the local park where he liked to walk in the afternoons when he wasn't feeling sick.

He witnessed a green flash of light that was associated with the killing curse he'd witnessed a few times during his capture and then the crack that was associated with appartating. The tingling sensation of fresh magic disappeared, but the lingering feeling that magic had been cast didn't. In the sky was a green skull floating in the air, the mark of the Death Eaters, a group he never wanted to see ever again, but if he did see them, he was going to make them pay for what they'd done to him.

He walked to where the green skull was floating above, his driver looking uncertain as the young boss walked away. He heard another group of people running towards the location; Yugi and his friends who were on their way back to the Game Shop after duelling. He wondered if Yugi could feel the modern magic, and if he could, could he tell the difference between modern and shadow magic?

"Stop, it's really deadly" shouted out the frantic voice of the Weasley girl.

"You don't know what you're getting into" her brother agreed. Fear apparent in both their voices.

Both sibling where on high alert looking around nervously, both now holding onto sticks which Seto knew for a fact where there wands. It was pointless, whoever caused the skull in the sky was long gone, and he highly doubted they'd be back anytime soon.

His heart constricted when he saw what was just before them. The lingering feeling of magic was coming from a bright green skull like hologram which was floating in the sky. The skull left a cold like feeling of dread and misery the closer they all got to it. Other people in the area where walking past not even noticing the skull or the body of the person lying just below the skull. It was like they couldn't even see him. Yugi wasn't affected by whatever was keeping everyone else away, much like himself. Joey to an extent only seemed slightly affected. Tea and Tristan on the other hand stopped for a moment with a glazed look of confusion coming over their features. It was only for a moment, both stopped and glanced at their hand and then back up to Yugi before running after the short teenager who was now holding the body and crying for the person to wake up. Laying below the green skull being cradled in Yugi's arms was his classmate and friend Ryou Bakura. He recognised the cold look in the other boys eyes and the pasty colour of his skin. In a morbid way it was fascinating how much he looked exactly like his mother when she'd died, he'd even managed to land in the same pose as her when she'd died. Kneeling next to the body was a clearly shocked spirit of Ryou Bakura.

"They killed me and took the Millennium Ring" he cried to his friends even though they couldn't see or hear him. He'd always assumed that Yugi was able to see the spirit of the ring after all he could see both the spirit of the ring and the spirit of the puzzle and he didn't even posses a Millennium Item.

Looking at the student who he'd gone to two different schools with the Millennium Ring was if fact gone from both the body before him and the spirit, he couldn't sense the item nearby at all, the only one he could sense was the one belonging to Yugi. He'd noticed in the past that the spirit always wore the same as the body and had wondered about that in the past, though at the time he'd been trying to convince himself that he had was insane, which wasn't too farfetched. He'd been diagnosed as insane by a psychologist after his step father died and was suspected of the man's murder. He didn't take the psychologist series because they committed suicide not long afterwards.

Yugi was crying at Bakura, telling him to wake up, shaking his arm, Tea comforting Yugi though she herself looked on the edge of bursting into hysterical tears. Ginny was telling him it was no use, Ron was pale looking around on high alert.

"His souls just been taken in a shadow game right, we can get it back right Yugi" Joey asked in disbelief.

The others had never been faced with true death before like he had. There was a difference between a dead body and one that had its soul sent to the shadow realm. This one wasn't quiet dead yet, but would be if they didn't act fast. He could already feel the old Egyptian gods of the dead stirring, they wanted Ryou's soul.

Tristan was looking through his phone, obviously trying to call emergency services; at least one of them had brains to do something other than standing around doing nothing. Heck that's what he himself had been doing, he blamed his months of capture for not reacting sooner.

"It's no use I'm dead" Bakura was crying.

"Yugi, can you see other spirits?" He placed his hand on the other boys shoulder; touching Yugi didn't disgust him like being touched by most other people did. The other Yugi was kneeling near Yugi and not paying attention to Bakura's spirit at all.

"No" Yugi replied. "I can only see the spirit of other me even when I'm in spirit form."

"Same goes for me" the spirit of the pharaoh replied.

"Pharaoh says that ..."

"I heard" He interrupted. He'd knelt down next to Bakura, and started checking for vital signs. So now Yugi, Yami and Ryou knew for certain that he could see them in spirit form. He knew that that at the very least Yugi and Yami has suspected he knew. Ryou seemed relieved to know that he could be seen and clung onto him, not that he could feel anything. He couldn't even push the spirit boy away if he wanted to his hand went right threw the white haired boy.

"I've got no phone signal" Tristan announced. "I can't call an ambulance." Which was obviously caused by the residue magic still in the air, certain magic seemed to affect technology while other magic didn't affect it at all.

"My car's nearby we'll take him to my place and get him on life support as soon as possible" he told them.

Joey and Tristan picked Bakura up and started following Kaiba to his car.

"What type of person has life support in their house?" Duke pointed out. "My family's also well off, but that's not the type of thing that we'd just have laying around home. Bet it's never been used before."

"Oh it's been used before" He replied.

"You own a second hand life support system?" Duke asked in disbelief.

"Of course not, it was new when it was purchased. Since it seems you where living under a rock, I was in a coma for three months when I was sixteen. I didn't actually need it, but the doctors didn't know that at the time when I first feel into my coma" Seto told his classmate in frustration as he got to the car. Making sure that Bakura's spirit had hopped in the car with everyone else.

Just as they were leaving another magical presence was detected, two men, they'd noticed them taking the body and where trying to intervene. Not everyone could fit in the car, the red head siblings, Duke, Tristan and Joey all stayed behind while Yugi and Tea came with him. Tea sitting in the front, since he didn't want to give up his normal seat in the back. It was stupid that even in a situation like this he didn't want to give up his regular seat in the car, his brother liked to tease him about the fact that he preferred sitting in the middle seat at the back.

News was sent ahead to the mansion as soon as they had phone service again to have the head of his medical staff onsite and all the equipment tested to make sure it was still working correctly. Yugi called his friends, but since they were walking it took a little longer for Joey and Tristan to have phone reception again. Another car sent to pick up the rest of Yugi's friends for once he'd open his home up to them, because he knew that they would hound him with constant phone calls for updates on their white haired friend if he didn't allow it.

"Do either of you know CPR?" It was probably something that he should've asked before hoping into the car. Both shook their head no and something he should've already been performing to give Ryou a better chance at living.

It was awkward but he and Yugi managed to reposition themselves and laid Ryou across the back seat and where now kneeling between the seats. It was hard as he began performing CPR on the other boy until they arrived at the mansion. The ten minute trip home seemed to last a life time, and he was feeling light headed and had pins and needles spreading throughout his whole body and the familiar twitches all began returning. He wasn't even sure if he was actually doing anything properly by the time they got home, he had black spots all across his eyes.

The staff rushed Bakura to the medical room and Yugi and Tea both escorted Kaiba back to his bedroom.

"Do you need help getting dressed?" Tea asked him a blush apparent on the girls face. Unfortunately he'd needed help at times doing things that he'd once done with ease and that included the girl standing in front of him helping him to the toilet at school on at least two occasions when none of the guys had been around.

He shook his head no. "I'm going to check up on Bakura" Tea announced with slight relief sensing that he didn't want her in his bedroom. He didn't want Yugi there either, but the smaller boy didn't leave with Tea.

"You asked before if we could see other spirits" Yami Yugi asked who was now in control of Yugi's body. "Does that mean you can see myself when I'm in spirit form."

He sat on his bed with a sigh, only six months ago he would've denied being able to see the two Yugi's. "I can see and hear you and Yugi when you're a spirit. As well as the two Bakura's. Bakura's nice sprit was sitting next to his body, crying that he'd been killed and the Millennium Ring stolen by Death Eaters. He told me that the evil spirit pushed him out of his body and took control just before the killing curse killed him. The evil spirit was no-where insight. We'll probably have wizards turning up here, the ones from the park."

"I'll call Ishizu so she can deal with them." Mokuba announced from the door way. "You get some sleep big brother, you look tired."

He wasn't sure how long his brother had been standing at the door but he agreed with what the young boy had said. He then dressed himself for bed once everyone had left his room. It didn't take him long to fall asleep since he was exhausted.
