Here's the new chapter! Hope you enjoy! P.S. I'm so happy I got over 100 reviews after the last chapter :)
Susan woke up to someone shaking her. She groaned in her sleep, drowsily. She said with a cracked voice, "A few more minutes, Caspian."
To her dismay, when she cracked her eyes open, Edmund was standing above her. She felt to see if Caspian was next to her and he wasn't. She was scared he ran off or something. Edmund had a worried look on his face as he said, "Susan get out of bed, Lucy's missing."
She got up off the ground as fast as she could. She ran out and saw Caspian and Peter already up and ready to go. She noticed it was still very dark outside and thought it was midnight or early morning. She asked, "What's going on? How didn't you notice she was gone Peter? She was right next to you!"
Peter rolled his eyes. "I'm sorry I was sleeping Susan."
She put her arrows on her back and held tight to her bow. Caspian had a sword in his hand and looked at her confused. He said, "Where do you think you're going?"
"I'm going to find my sister."
"Susan we need someone to stay here. Aren't you tired and want to rest?"
Susan looked down and said softly, "I don't want you to leave me. I don't want to be without you."
Caspian took a few steps closer to her and put a finger under her chin to look at him. "Hey. I'll be back very soon. I know you want to help, but being here for the crew is so much help."
Susan looked into his eyes and whispered because of proximity, "If you're not going with me, go wake up Frederick and take him with you."
On that note, Edmund saw Caspian turn to him, and Edmund started to walk to Frederick's tent. Caspian turned back to look at Susan. He kissed her hard on the mouth, and Susan smiled into it, Caspian did too. When he pulled away, he saw the worry in Susan's eyes. He knew the last time he left her, he was whipped. She kept the same worried glance as she said, "Be careful. We still don't know this island yet."
"If we're not back before the sun is in the sky, send a search party. And promise me that you won't be apart of that party, Susan."
Susan nodded her head and sighed. "I promise."
They both heard footsteps and saw Frederick walk towards them having a panicked-worried look to him. Caspian kissed Susan's forehead and smiled one last time at her before running into the forest with Edmund, Peter, and Frederick. Susan wanted to go back to sleep and realized it would be her first sleep by herself in two years.
Lucy was being carried by giant, she thought she was dreaming. She's only had these kind of things happen in dreams, but this was Narnia. She was silently sobbing, for the first time in a while, she didn't know what to do. She was stuck. She just hoped that her family would wake up and notice she was gone. Lucy felt like they were going somewhere very far away from camp.
Eventually, the huge beast put her down, and she tried to run away. But the giant would put his huge hand in front of her, so she couldn't run away. She was so frustrated, she sat down and cried. The giant saw her grief and tried to touch her. Lucy yelled, "Don't touch me! Don't you ever touch me again!"
The giant sat still while she cried, it was like the giant didn't know how to react. It couldn't understand English, but it knew what emotions were.
The men ran through the forest yelling for Lucy. Until Edmund spotted a giant foot. They all crowed around it in awe. Peter and Edmund only remembered creatures this big since the golden age. Edmund asked, "Do you think whatever this is, might have taken Lucy?"
They all looked at one another thinking about the question, and Frederick spoke first, "It could be possible. I mean Lucy wouldn't have wondered off far into the forest without telling anyone. That's just not her."
They all nodded and Peter said, "Well, let's just follow the footprints then."
They all started following the footsteps, what they didn't know was the giant took long strides. And what would take the giant about a few minutes to get to would take the men hours running.
After an hour, they stopped for a break. Peter said out of breathe, "It's a good thing Susan didn't come. I don't know how you talk Susan into doing things, she can really stubborn sometimes."
Caspian smirked. "I guess I have a charm on her Peter."
Everyone else laughed and Caspian said, "But yes it is a good thing. She keeps pushing herself too hard, and she's creating something inside her."
Peter nodded his head. "I know. Louise would try and do everything, because she wanted to prove she could still do things while pregnant. I mean she's pregnant, she needed to calm down."
Caspian completely understood what Peter was saying. Edmund said, "Aww brotherly bonding, it's utterly adorable."
Peter and Caspian said in unison, "Oh shut it Ed." Frederick tried to hold in his laughter, but it didn't work.
Markell was holding Rose like the world depended on it. He squeezed her tighter when the door opened. Adeline stood outside their cell with two bulky-strong men. She said, "I'm sorry Rose. I'm going to need some more of your hair."
The two men came into the cell and plucked a few hairs off of Rose's head. Adeline placed them in a cantine and drank out of it. She then magically transformed into a identical Rose. She said, "Now I just have to find out where they are."
She grabbed something from a guard's hand from what Markell could see. It was a crystal ball, she rubbed it while chanting a language Markell had no clue what it was. In the ball, she saw the island at full view with the ship in the background. It then took her to Susan, who was sleeping inside a tent unguarded and no one was with her. Adeline knew that would have been one of the perfect times to strike and cursed herself. Then it went to Edmund, Peter, Caspian, and Frederick all laughing in the forest. Then finally it went to Lucy who was crying and a giant was behind her. Adeline clicked her tongue. "It looks like Queen Lucy is in a horrible predicament."
Markell asked. "What? What do you see?"
"Maybe if we were still with them, you would know Markell. Well, I have a fake accident to plan. Goodbye,"
Markell ran up to the cell and yelled, "You better not hurt any of them Adeline!"
She smiled at him darkly, "Oh honey, I all ready have." She walked away cackling.
Rose sat on the ground and stared up at him. She said just above a whisper, "Markell we have to go back. We have to save your family."
Markell turned around. "But Rose, I have to take you home."
She sighed, "I know, but she might kill everyone."
Susan woke up a second time to someone tapping on her shoulder. Her eyes fluttered open hoping it was Lucy. But it was a crew member. He said, "I'm sorry to wake you, Queen Susan."
She smiled to make him feel better. "It's quite all right. What is it that you need?"
"All of the Kings, Queen Lucy, and Frederick are missing."
Susan played it off cool. "I know. They all left to check out the island of it's beauty. I stayed to be here for all of you."
"Thank you, your majesty. Just wanted to let you know."
"Thank you so much."When he walked out of the tent, Susan panicked. They weren't back yet and as she could see, the sun was almost high in the sky. She got up and felt the need to pace. Normally, when she would be upset with no one to comfort her, she would pace. She felt like she was going to have a panic attack, like the one in the storage room. She just remembered what Frederick told her. "Susan, calm down. Breathe. Deep breaths. It will all be okay."
Susan breathed out heavily one last time, before she walked out of the tent. She smelled the saltiness of ocean and felt the cool breeze of morning, which gave her goosebumps. She also smelled something delicious, then she remembered what that food was, bacon. Her mouth watered. She realized, there was no one to sit with to eat breakfast. She hated being alone.
She noticed Marianna eating all alone, and Marianna noticed the same. Marianna knew Susan never ate alone, she always had Caspian or her siblings. Marianna wondered where they all were. Susan felt Marianna's eyes locked on her. Susan looked at the sky and noticed in about an hour, she would go looking for them. She knew Caspian told her not come and look, but it was her family. If she lost any of them, she would never be the same again.
Edmund had been jogging, for what felt like forever. His calf muscles were burning, and the sun was soon coming up. That would mean, it would get a lot hotter. He saw Caspian in front of him stop jogging. Peter asked, "What is it?"
Caspian put his hand up to make Peter stop talking. Edmund knew this meant Caspian saw something. Caspian went up behind a bush to get a look at something. Caspian turned back around and whispered, "It's a giant or a huge troll. It's hideous. I also think I heard crying."
Frederick pushed past Caspian and looked through the bushes. He whispered, "That's Lucy who's crying."
Edmund raised his eyebrows, "Do you think she's hurt?"
Caspian pulled a sword out of his belt and Frederick started to load his bow at the same time. Peter asked, "What are doing? You can't just attack it."
Caspian replied, "We can try."
Peter nodded and pulled out his sword, and Edmund did the same. They all came out from behind the bushes quietly to surprise the giant. Then Peter slashed at it's heel and it cried out in pain. It turned around to see all four men and saw the anger and determination in their eyes. Suddenly, the giant became angry and growled. It went to pick up Peter until the giant felt something pierce it's shoulder. Frederick released his arrow and it hit the giant's shoulder.
The giant went for Frederick and felt another slash at his heel. He turned around and smashed his huge hand against the person. It was Caspian. Caspian went flying in the air and hit his head against a rock and became unconscious. Lucy yelled, "No! Caspian!"
Frederick went to pick up Lucy, and Peter and Edmund headed for Caspian. The giant felt angrier and picked everyone up and put them where Lucy was. They tried to run, but the giant stopped them by placing his hands in front of them. Lucy moved to Caspian to feel his pulse. She sighed of relief when she felt a heartbeat.
Lucy tried to break the silence. "At least I'm not alone now."
Peter said, "Lucy, please don't ever wonder off again without someone."
"I don't think now is the best time to lecture me Peter."
Edmund watched as the sun started to come up and said, "Don't worry, our search party is coming soon."
Susan saw the sun reached the sky and turned towards the forest. No one was coming out, and she didn't hear any noises or rustling. She stood on one of the tables and yelled, "If I can have your attention please?"
She saw everyone's heads turn towards her in eagerness for her to continue. She yelled, "Thank you! It turns out that King Peter, Edmund, and Caspian, Queen Lucy, and Frederick are all missing."
She heard people whisper and talk quietly among themselves. She yelled, "I need people to come on a search party with me and the rest of you stay here and take care of camp! If you want to come, can you please stand?"
A few men stood and so did Marianna. The rest stayed seated. She yelled, "Thank you! We may not be back until a few hours! For all of you staying here, enjoy yourselves!"
When the search party joined Susan, She said, "Go get weapons. I don't want anyone going unarmed. You never know, it may come to the worst."
When they all had their weapons, they joined back up with Susan. She lead the group into the forest and searched for any clues. Marianna yelled, "Queen Susan! I think I found something!"
Susan rushed over to where Marianna was. There was a huge footprint, that belonged to something not human. Susan looked at Marianna and Marianna asked, "Do you think we should follow these?"
Susan thought for a second. "It would make sense, Lucy missing, something must have taken her and the men followed these footprints to find her. It's worth a try."
After an hour of jogging, the search party took a break. Susan felt her feet aching and her shoulders tensing up. She also felt very tired. Marianna sat next to Susan and asked, "Are you okay?"
Susan said without making eye contact. "Yes, I'm fine."
"Queen Susan, you don't need to fret over Caspian's relationship with me. I feel like our relationship is the same one with you and King Markell. We hugged because King Caspian felt like I needed reassuring. We smile at one another because we're friends. Do you understand?"
"Yes I do. Thank you for confronting me about it professionally."
Susan stood up and yelled, "Is everyone ready to go?" She didn't hear any no's or groans, so she started to take off again.
Lucy was sitting next to Caspian, who was still unconscious. She would feel for a pulse every once in a while to calm herself down. She watched as Frederick came and sat next to her. He asked, "Are you all right? Are you hurt?"
"I'm fine. I think Caspian is the one we should worry about." She looked down at her brother-in-law. He had blood coming out from his forehead. Frederick pulled Lucy in for a hug. She let out a deep breath in his arms.
It was getting very hot in the forest and Peter watched out with Edmund to look for the search party. Edmund asked, "Do you think they'll find us?"
"If Susan's with them. I'm sure they will."
Edmund looked confused. "But Caspian made her promise..."
"Come one Ed, it's Susan. If her family is in trouble, there is no doubt that she will go with the search party to find us."
Edmund looked at Peter. "But, Caspian's charm."
Peter looked back and couldn't help but chuckle. Lucy watched as her two brothers laughed. Frederick sighed, "Only you Pevensies' can find a way to laugh in a time like this."
Lucy smiled at him. "It's what we do."
After two hours of jogging, Susan felt ready to fall over. She then thought she heard something. She looked from behind some bushes and saw a giant with her family sitting around. Then, she saw Caspian laying on the ground, not moving. She started panicking and calmed herself back down. She remembered she read something on giants a while ago. She remembered, they don't speak but they feel with emotions.
She whispered at everyone. "Put down your weapons quietly. I have a plan."
Susan walked out of the forest quietly, and everyone noticed her. Peter yelled, "Susan, don't come out here without any weapons. Are you crazy?"
The giant turned around to face her. He saw the kindness and gentleness in her eyes and calmed down. It reached his hand out to her, and Susan touched it lightly. She smiled at the giant. He smiled right back at her. She said as kind as she could, "See? Us humans aren't that bad."
She pointed to her family and said, "Please, let me have my family back. We have to leave soon."
He felt the sorrow and grief as she said that. He didn't want to hurt this kind woman. She was the nicest anyone had been to her. He let her walk to her family, and they all hugged her. Susan ran and bent down next to Caspian. She touched his face. She yelled at the giant with plead in her voice. "Let us go!"
The giant felt like he knew what was going on. He nodded, and Peter threw Caspian over his shoulder. They all walked away except for Susan. She walked up to the beast and said, "Thank you." She kissed his fingertip and the giant smiled. She walked away smiling at him.
Susan said to her search party, "Let's go."
They all got back to the camp around high noon. Susan and Peter being the eldest decided to stay on the island until Caspian woke up. Susan know the giant wouldn't come up on the beach. They advised everyone to not go into the forest. Peter put Caspian inside their tent, and Susan stayed with him. She held his hand and rubbed it soothingly.
After an hour, Peter came into the tent and asked, "Still not awake?" Susan looked down at Caspian and shook her head.
He sat down next to her and said, "I can watch over him for you. Go get some sun or rest for a little."
"No. I want to be there for him when he wakes up. He's always been the first person there when I wake up, so I want to be there for him."
Peter nodded his head. "I understand. If this was Louise, I wouldn't want to leave either." He got up and walked out of the room.
When he came out of the room, Marianna came up to him and asked, "Is he okay?"
"I don't know. He's not awake yet, but he just hit his head." Marianna nodded her head and walked away.
Lucy sat by the edge of the beach with the water touching the tips of her toes. Edmund sat next to her and said, "You need to sleep Lucy. I highly doubt you slept at all last night."
"I'm fine, Ed. Really,"
Edmund pursed his lips. "So you wouldn't mind swimming in the ocean for a bit?"
"No thanks, I'm too tired...Crap." She covered her mouth.
Edmund laughed, "Got ya. Man I'm good."
Lucy rolled her eyes and walked away, while Edmund was still laughing.
Susan was sitting next to her husband, and her eyelids felt like the heaviest things ever. She fought to keep them open a while longer. She gave in and closed her eyes. She heard a familiar voice say, "Am I really that boring?"
Susan's eyes popped open to see deep-brown ones looking at her. She wrapped her arms around his neck. He groaned a little from the pain in his head. She kissed his forehead and pulled back to see his face. Her arms were still around his neck. She said, "See what happens when I'm not with you? You get hurt."
He smirked, "But you know you were needed here."
"I know, but I'm just glad you're okay."
Caspian then realized everything that happened. "Wait! How did I get here? Is everyone okay? Are we still on the island? How late is..." Susan cut him off with a kiss. She smiled at him.
"Everyone's fine. It's almost sunset, and we are still on the island. I didn't listen to you and came with the search party. I'm the one who actually rescued you."
He smiled at her and Susan questioned, "What?"
He smiled brighter. "You just cease to amaze me Susan." She smiled back, and started kissing him passionately. He fell back on the ground, and she was on top of him. Susan was unbuttoning his shirt and pulled it off of his head. They heard someone come into the tent. Susan turned her head back, and it was Marianna.
Marianna had her mouth open in shock. Susan got off of Caspian turning the brightest red she ever had. Marianna said, "I..uh...King Peter...said I could come in. I'll come back later."
She ran out of the tent. Caspian laughed, "I guess privacy is a very rare thing for the two of us."
Susan hid her face and handed Caspian back his shirt. Caspian put it on and said, "Come on Susan we're married. We can do stuff like that."
"I know. I'm just so embarrassed. I've never done anything like that in front of anyone."
Caspian chuckled. "Let's just be thankful it wasn't Peter." Susan giggled at that.
They both heard screaming. They looked at one another and ran out of the tent. Caspian still had a banging pain in his head but ignored it. Lucy was the one who screamed. She was pointing out to the sea and saw a body on a piece of driftwood. Caspian and Peter swam out to the ocean and got the body onto shore. They put the female body on the sand, and she choked out water and gasped for air.
She looked up at the Kings and Queens. Edmund asked the same thing everyone was thinking. "Rose?"
Uh Oh...We all know who this is. I hope they find out eventually. This was a faster update, Yay! I've been hearing from a lot of you, you hate Marianna. I mean she just has a little crush...lol, is it bad I don't really like her either? Chapter Question: Since we know Adeline will tell them Markell is dead, how do you think they'll react?
