Chapter 8: Halloween

Despite the Howler and helping to save Neville's life things were normal at Hogwarts. The spell that Doctor Fate had put on Julius body helped to keep him from having headaches. And Julius was quickly becoming a student that all of the Professors, including Snape, predicted would become one of the finest. Not that they had any problem with Hermione. Well maybe the fact that she kept answering questions that were meant for other students.

The same couldn't be said about Harry Potter.

Despite being in Slytherin he was still friends with children of some of the old Wizarding families that he had been around since his birth. The three main ones that he associated with decided that they wanted to make Dumbledore's life hard. They hardly ever applied themselves and made it their mission to prank anyone that they wanted. Their target was Hermione Granger, since she dared to breathe air.

One day, between Potions and the Ravenclaw Common Room, Harry decided that he was going to hex her skirt to come off her body. This made Julius so mad that he hexed Potter to lose all of his hair. Where he found the spell, no one really knew. It wasn't dark, but it showed what Julius would do to help his friends. Snape had to give Hermione a Calming Draught because of what had happened.

Dumbledore wasn't impressed and gave Potter a month's worth of detention. Meaning that little Potter would miss the Halloween Feast. One of Potter's other friends attacked Neville Longbottom with a Leg Locker Curse. Julius removed it, of course, but it took twenty minutes for Draco to calm him down.

"Oh I'm going to get him back someday," Julius vowed.

"Just make sure that it doesn't cause you to get another Howler," Hermione said.

"Oh don't worry, I won't make that same mistake again," Julius vowed.

Halloween came around and it was a very important day. It meant that they had mastered the basics and was ready to move onto the really hard work. They were learning the Levitation Charm; which Julius had been practicing in his room. Everyone in Ravenclaw had their own room and that was where Julius decided to practice most of his spells.

"Now, don't forget that nice wrist movement that we've been practicing! Swish and flick, remember, swish and flick. And saying the magic words properly is important too-never forget wizard Baruffio, who said 's' instead of 'f' and found himself with a buffalo on his chest."

Julius just waved his wand and the feather, which they had been practicing, went up into the air at once. Everyone else in Ravenclaw had the same result and Julius didn't know if Flitwick was on the verge of crying or not. By time the lessons had ended Julius was looking forward to the Feast more than anyone else.

"I think I'll sneak some Halloween cookies to some of my dad's friends," Julius told Hermione.

"I doubt they'll be any good," Hermione said to him.

"Well I can, at least, try."

When they entered the Great Hall, however, Julius saw that Constantine was there. He wondered if his father knew that the occultist was even in England. Dumbledore was all smiles but he saw that McGonagall wasn't happy.

"Happy Halloween, everyone," Dumbledore said. "My good friend John Constantine has come to allow some students to talk to their dead love ones."

Oh God, he hoped another Howler wasn't coming his way.

"I doubt that I want to talk to my dad," Draco said. "Couldn't stand the man even when I was old enough to know him."

He had appeared behind them, which made Julius jump. Despite knowing that his father could appear like that, it was still a bit unnerving.

"I would like to see my mother," Julius said. "I'm worried that-."

"She wouldn't accept you as a wizard," Hermione finished and Julius nodded.

"So who wants to go first?"

Julius raised his hand and he saw Constantine smiling at him. He walked up and Dumbledore showed Julius what to do. Then Constantine brought up his dad mother. Harley Quinn was dressed in a smart suit with a white lab coat. Nothing on her face except basic lipstick and her hair in a tight bun.

"Mummy," Julius said.

"Oh Julius," she said, smiling at him. "Is that my little baby boy."

"It is," he said.

"My, you've grown so much," she said.

"You don't look the same way that you normally do," Julius told her.

"Well the dead have more clarity than the living does," she said. "So what have you been doing."

Julius told her all about finding out that he was a wizard, about living with his father, and told her all about the friends that he made.

"I'm glad that your doing so well," Harley said. "And a wizard. I guess this doesn't come from Bruce's family."

"No, it comes from yours."

"Well I guess I was special after all," Harley said, smiling. "Listen, Julius, I need to tell you something."

"What?"

"Tom Riddle, or Lord Voldemort, isn't dead. The man that killed me is still alive."

The staff, minus one, looked shocked.

"Please son, be careful," Harley begged. "Please, I don't think I could bare it if you died and joined me."

And then she faded away to nothing.

Julius didn't miss the look that Dumbledore gave to Quirrell.

True to what Draco said Lucius Malfoy's ghost didn't appear and Draco didn't have a talk with him. It was clear that the subject of his father was a sore one. He also couldn't get over the fact that his mother had warned him that Voldemort wasn't dead. Great, another horror that he would have to face in the near future. He would have to have a talk with Fate or Zatanna about this. He did, however, give some cookies to Constantine to give to the league.

"I'll talk with the other magic users about this," he told Julius. "Just stay focus on your studies."

Julius promised that he would.

The league was filled with some of the most powerful users of magic that ever existed and Julius felt that he could put his mind at ease. But, still, he knew that Voldemort wasn't going to rest until he tried to kill him again. He just needed to stay focus and keep his guard up.

"We have a problem," Constantine told Batman and Batgirl.

"What happened?" Batgirl asked.

"I raised Harley Quinn's soul from the Underworld and she told her son that Tom Riddle is still alive."

"You did what?"

"It was part of the Halloween Feast," he said. "And don't send that child a Howler. Dumbledore invited me to come and allow students to talk to their dead love ones. Julius raised his hand first and Harley told him that she was proud of him. She was shocked that the magic gene came from her family. And then she told everyone that Tom Riddle wasn't dead."

"Get ahold of all the magic users," Batman told him. "We need to be ready if Tom decides to try and attack my son."

"Right on it," he said. "Oh want a cookie."

Batman looked at him, but Batgirl took a couple.

"Thanks," she said and Constantine left.

A/N: Yeah, Voldemort is so screwed. Next up: Most of the Justice League comes to what is the first match between Ravenclaw and Gryffindor. And, no, Julius won't be going to the match between Gryffindor and Slytherin. He'll just hear about it.
