Shadows of Knowledge

Summary: Kaiba has failed another year of high school due to how much school he's missed. Yugi and Ryou are in the same boat. The board of Kaiba Corp and his investors aren't happy. Instead of staying at Domino High School for another year SetoKaiba sets up his own school with plans to learn more about the Shadows.

Chapter Twelve

He had an issue - did he keep the magical students separated for all these extracurricular activities? He didn't want the student body to become too separated between the magical students and the non-magical students. He didn't even want them to become separated because of the different houses. He was even considering going as far as keeping the dorm rooms with mixed houses when the school got more students. He'd learnt a lot from watching Yugi and Ryou helping the Slifer students in the evening with Duel monster Strategy. How were the students who did poorly in duel monsters meant to learn if kept separated from the students who did exceptionally well with Duel Monsters. The students were helping each other with homework, playing games despite the different houses. The older students helping the younger students. The original plan was to have six dorm rooms. Three girls dorms, Three boys dorms. One of each house all on separate sections of the Island. But that would be separating the student body even more than it currently was. He was glad that he been forced to change his plans and attend his school, it had given him an inside perspective.

New plan - still have six dorms. Those dorms were not going to be Obelisk Blue boys, Obelisk Blue girls dorms etc. The students would still be in those groups depending on the duelling ability for classes. Their class results would not affect their dorm rooms. They would have the same room the whole school year, even if they went up or down houses.

Critias, Timaeus and Hermos - the legendary dragons would be the names of the new dorms. He would still keep boys and girls separated, but instead of in a separate building for the boys and girls; the boys would be on one side of the building and girls on the other side with a year level common room in between the boys and girls dorms.

Three buildings with a shared courtyard. Four story buildings. Ground floor, kitchen, cafeteria, shared a common room, toilets. The first floor the dorm rooms for the younger students; Second floor the dorm room for the 14 and 15-year-olds; Third floor for the older students. Students would stay in the same dorm group the whole time they were at school unless circumstances called for change such as bullying. Each dorm room level would have a common room and bathrooms.

"This is really detailed. The legendary dragons," Yugi said to him, having glanced over his shoulders at his new plans.

"New dorm plans. Decided that Obelisk, Ra and Slifer students aren't going to be separated by house. They will share mixed dorms. Construction on these new dorms won't be ready for next year, but hopefully they year after. Next year's students can still use these dorms until that time. I plan to still have a small number of students for next year, increasing that number to sixty students. This building can take two hundred students. This building will become the teacher's dorms when the new student dorm rooms open. I may also use this building to house special needs students like Amane who need the extra care."

Atem was filling Set in about what the Legendary Dragons were since it wasn't something from the ancient Egyptian past.

Seto watched the boat arrive on the island. A few relatives of staff members and students hoped off the boat. Being a boarding school on an island they didn't have much interaction with the outside world. Remus was down at the water edge with his wife and son. Greeting three of the people who got off the boat. He noticed Draco approaching the group with caution, before hugging the eldest of the group. He knew those people. Severus Snape. The Death Eater spy who was responsible for healing him when the Death Eaters went too far while he was captured. Harry and Hermione, the pair he'd seen at the cemetery, the Death Eater mansion and the Death Eater hideout in London.

"Can you tell if either of the Bakura siblings is a Horcrux?" Severus asked after they'd been on the island for a short while.

"It's defiantly Amane," Harry replied grimly. "We need to tell Ryou."

"He's over there; let's get this over and done with." Hermione pointed out. She didn't let Harry have a chance to work out what to say to Ryou. She walked straight to the boy who'd gone to school with them many years ago."Ryou, we need to talk to you in private," Hermione asked.

"Anything you can say to me, you can say in front of my friends." He indicated towards Seto, Yugi and Ishizu. Ryou replied, slightly confused as to why they were pulling him aside. He didn't have much to do with them when he'd been at school previously.

"It's regarding your sister," Hermione told him in a low tone, hoping to get the others to leave so she could talk in private. She really didn't want more people to know then necessary. When it was obvious that their others were not going to leave she continued. "Harry and I believe she's a Horcrux."

"My sister is a what?" Ryou asked with much concern.

Hermione went into great detail about what a Horcrux was and how Amane came to be one.

'Doesn't that make the tome, ring and puzzle Horcruxes in that case?' Seto asked Set.

'Technically no. My whole soul is bound with the tome. The same goes for Atem and the Thief. We haven't split our souls at all. Scrap that, the thief has split his soul, but not in the same way. He only takes off fragments, not actual full splits. Those fragments return to the Thief King whenever they are destroyed. That is what makes the difference. Now that Atem has his memories restored, we can also crossover at any time we wish, s long as the rituals complete. Tom Riddle cannot cross over to the afterlife till all his fragmented soul pieces have been made whole.'

'Is it even possible for Riddle to cross over? I had him devoured by Ammit. Plus the Thief King also killed him.' Seto asked his ancient self.

'The Pharaohs have the power to call back devoured souls. Since Atem and I were both Pharaohs and even Ishizu because Isis was my Queen - we can call back those souls.'

'As for the rituals, there are several mentioned in the tome. But we need to consider what we use carefully. It is not just Amane who has Tom Riddles soul fragment; Harry Potter has one as well. It's complicated enough having one living container.' Set explained to him.

"How could I not notice that before?" Ryou cried. "My sister had a part of his soul, and I didn't even notice. I normally notice things like that."

Ryou wasn't the only one who hadn't noticed, the Thief King also hadn't noticed. He'd seemed annoyed at this new intel. Seto also didn't notice the soul of Voldemort attached to her soul, and yet he'd noticed the one that was attached to Harry.

Hermione spoke in a know it all voice. "You couldn't possibly sense soul fragments. Harry can, due to his connection to You-Know-Who."

'It must be the way Amane was made a Horcrux in comparison to Harry.' Set suggested.

"Harry, do you realise you also have one of his soul fragments? That is the reason you have a connection with him in the first place." Seto informed the other teenager. He wasn't sure if Harry was aware of the extra soul or not.

"I believe Mr Kaiba is correct," Severus replied. "He who cannot be named cannot be destroyed until all the fragments are destroyed. We have the issue of removing those pieces from two living hosts."

'Looks like we have a lot of research in how to separate attached souls.' Set told Kaiba. Kaiba agreed. No way was he going to allow Amane or even Harry to remain contaminated by that monster. They would find a way that would ensure Amane's safety.
