Hey guys! Here's another chapter for you guys! Sorry for not updating for a long while, writers block has been affecting me and I've changed schools so I'm getting used to the larger amounts of homework and the stress so yeah, really sorry for not updating and thanks for holding on for like three months guys. And despite like the huge age gap between Loki and Heather, age is just a number.

Chapter 6

I raced off, screaming, the robots flying off. I turned at a corner and almost fell backwards in surprise. There before me stood the largest robot-like thing. It was most likely made of titanium and silver. The thing was gigantic and in it sat Thrain, like a king. I stood dumbfounded for a moment as I realised that Thrain was firing military missiles everywhere. I looked around furiously and tried to find a source of light and failed since most of the buildings were smashed through.

The only light source was the sun which was highly impossible. Still, I held out a hand and tried to reach for the light. It was causing pain to shoot up through my hand. Finally, a beam of light stretched down my hand. The beam swirled around and then it became a ball which grew and grew to form a protective cocoon around myself that lifted me off the ground. Soon I reached the top off the robot and bashed a hand through the glass that was separating me from Thrain.

Loki's POV

I slumped against the upturned taxi, raising a hand to touch my lips. A bare moment ago it Heather had pressed her lips against mine and now she had run off to fight Thrain, alone. I jumped out from my hiding place to see the team gathered in front of the huge tin man. (The Robot! Lol!) I strode forward to join them and looked up to see what had happened. Heather had practically launched an attack on Thrain, one-on-one.

"Either that girl is a bloody fool or she's brilliantly brave." Tony said shaking his head, getting ready to take off. "Tony, you might want to let her do this alone." Natasha said quietly, still focusing on Heather. "Why?"

"Well, I think she's either trying to prove herself to the team," Natasha explained, glaring at Steve angrily. "Or she thinks she's the youngest and least helpful, she should be 'sacrificed'" Steve looked rather uncomfortable. "I guess I was a little hard on her." He admitted. All of us glared at him and he finally sighed. "Okay, I was too hard on her, if she lives through this, I will apologise." He said.

"Now, what are we going to do?" Thor finally voiced out his thoughts. Before any of us could reply, a huge wave of robots surrounded us. Well we had our hands full.

"Oh Heather, please be safe." I mumbled under my breath.

Heather's POV

"ARGH!" I cried as I crashed through the glass that was separating that bastard Thrain from the rest of the world. I fell to my knees and winced as the glass shards pierced my skin. "Ah Heather Pendragon, the youngest Avenger, I have heard as much of your powers, I have been waiting for you to come." Thrain chuckled, holding his hands behind his back. He was clad in a gray pinstripe suit and a red tie. "What do you mean?" I hissed, getting to my feet, ignoring the pain spreading across my body.

"I knew that you would come look for me, young and foolish you are, you will learn slowly. Your voice can take down an entire army and that you can control light, even from the sun. I would like to propose an offer, work with me. Power my army of automatons and we can rule this earth one step at a time. What's say you? Seventy for me and thirty for you?" He asked. I stared at the man, wide-eyed. What an idiot I was, facing of this man alone. I was about to speak when I heard voices in my ear. My ear piece! It was still intact.

"We can't hold them off for much longer!" I heard a voice cry, it was Natasha. "We have to keep trying, if Heather really does end Thrain, then we have something to hope for," another voice said, Tony. "If she dies, I will end Thrain on my own and take his life with my own hands," came another chillingly familiar voice. Loki. I felt my eyes burn and closed them momentarily to stop the tears from coming. I was not weak. I could hold my own. I was not a little kid.

"I wish I spoke to her earlier. If you can hear me Heather, I'm so sorry for ever doubting you, I am so sorry," I suddenly heard a choked voice, Steve! That was when I broke.

I was nothing.

I did not mean as much as the others.

I was the least important.

I had to end it.

I finally learned how to breathe again but I still did not open my eyes. I held my hand behind my back, my fingers bloody from cuts. I reached out for any source of light and grasped it, forming it into a long sharp spear. "Thanks Thrain," I breathed. I could tell he was smiling, I did not even need to open my eyes. "Wonderfu-" I cut him off. "But I cant accept your offer, you may think I would abandon my teammates but I have a lot more values than you do, coward!" I screamed and brought out the spear, my voice piercing his eardrums as I brought the spear down on his chest and impaled him. His blood splattered on my suit and I let the light disperse as soon as the job was done.

I then gracelessly fell out of the shattered glass window, leaving Thrain's dead body in the gray room filled with the scent of cold metal and the stench of freshly spilled blood. It had taken every last ounce of my strength to kill him and I could not bother to break my fall. I let the rushing feeling of the wind cool my swollen muscles as I fell, just as the darkness took over me.

Loki's POV

We all heard the blasting scream from the gigantic monster and we all saw the shape falling to the ground. "HEATHER!" I could not keep the desperation out of my voice as I raced towards her, forcing my tired legs to move onward. Thor saw her and flew over just in time to catch her in his beefy arms. He set her gently down on the ground and we all crowded around. "Heather?" Bruce asked, he had changed back from the Hulk. "Please be alive, come on!" Tony said, shaking her weakly. "She's breathing, but barely." I barely heard Natasha whisper. "We need to get her on the Helicarrier." Steve said, but I could see that his blue eyes were clouded with guilt and pain.

A FEW DAYS LATER

Clint's POV

We got Heather safely back to the Helicarrier. She was treated and hooked up to a sort of machine. Her condition was stable but Loki, surprisingly, refused to leave her side ever since she was admitted. He stayed by her bed, would not eat and would not sleep. I passed by the other day and saw him, resting on his right hand as he held Heather's hand with his left. I could not help but smile, the cold frost giant did have a heart buried deep in his icy soul.

Heather's POV

I woke up in the Helicarrier days after I fell from the robot. I was surprised I was not dead. I thought I was in Heaven at first, being in a white room and all until I saw Loki asleep beside me, his head resting lightly on my bed. I blushed and went back to sleep.

It was Tuesday, almost a week since the battle. Steve had since constantly apologised to me and I had forgiven him after I beat him at drinking six cups of black coffee.

Thor and Loki were going to leave that day. I could not help but feel agitated as I was not going to see Loki for a very long time. I was going to miss him so much.

We all drove out and regrouped at Central park. Thor and Loki were exchanging goodbyes with the rest of the Avengers by the time I arrived on my motorbike. Loki saw me and broke away from the group. "Heather," I heard him breathe, liking the sound of my name on his lips. "Loki," I responded shakily, "I'm going to miss you." He looked down at me with his green eyes, like a cat's. "Remember the secret I wanted to share with you?" He asked. I nodded, I remembered.

I remembered the feeling of his lips on mine.

I remembered the coolness that was coming off of him in waves.

I remembered.

"Well," Loki trailed off before, he leaned in and captured my lips in his. I was caught off guard and froze before I melted into the sweet, cold kiss. His arm snaked around my waist as his stroked my cheek absentmindedly with his long pianist fingers. I reached my hands up to circle his neck. We kissed until I heard cat calls and wolf whistles just as we broke apart, when the need for air became too much. I turned to give a glare to Tony and Clint who wore cheeky grins on their faces.

"I love you." Loki said when I turned back to face him. "I have a deep regard for you too." I replied cheekily. Loki smiled that ever so rare smile of his when he leaned in and kissed my lips chastely before Thor called for him.

"Goodbye Heather, I will be back for you." Were his last words before Thor and him left.

Slowly one by one, the Avengers left, Steve the last one, giving me a pat on my shoulder before he did. I finally left, and I waited.

I waited.

And waited.

I kept waiting,

Because I knew he was going to come back.
