Sorry for the wait. Finally got a new chapter up and hopefully you enjoy it.
Chapter 2: Result, Main Street And Saving
-With Tyson And Others-
Tyson was fidgeting his leg fast while he watched the television where the voting was soon going to be announced. It was live voting at that moment which was advertised a lot in the different news media places. It looked like it didn't go unnoticed as they could see millions of votes already gone in. All of them had voted yes for the answer to allow Christian and others live but Tyson wondered if it was a good idea for them to say everything what they just did.
'Looks like they left out some crap at least,' Tyson said.
'What do you mean?' Max asked.
Tyson moved back and forth nervously, 'You know… Like that small kid Kai bit. I don't like either way that they said so much anyway,' Tyson rubbed his neck.
'Better this way than finding out about it later,' Kai knew from experience what most likely would happen when hiding secrets, 'Do they even know about it?' he wondered about it too though.
'No. Your out of control episodes are not known to them or did you not realize it when the General came?' Christian stated bluntly.
'I did but they could have try find out about it themselves. It's not exactly a secret anymore,' Kai reminded when Dickenson touched him on the shoulder.
'I'm taking care of it. I contacted the China police, Walter and the others about it and they understood. They won't hide it but they won't make you look like a heartless killer, neither of you,' Dickenson explained.
'It's just going to give them fire against us some day,' Christian stated out matter-of-factly.
'Any future scenes?' Rick asked but Christian shook his head in denial.
'Oh right. You could just check what the results is, couldn't you? Would you?' Tyson asked happily but got a death glare from both Christian and Kai.
'What? He could do it you know,' Tyson continued.
'He won't do it if it's not necessary,' Kai spoke slowly and hit Tyson on the head, lightly.
Tyson rubbed his head, 'Ouch. Sorry.'
'Tyson my boy. It's not up to us to tell them when or how to use their abilities. Besides it looks tiring when Christian does it,' Dickenson added. Tyson nodded understanding and turned back to the television just in time. They were about to announce the results.
'This is the voters total results from around the world. It's 58 percent against 42 percent. 58 percent of voters said yes,' Mr. Kane announced and Tyson jumped up happily while others sighed relieved.
'Don't get too excited yet. It's more for yes answers but not by much,' Emily reminded them and Tyson stopped jumping.
'Since the result is leaning towards yes answers that will happen. They are to be treated equally and same human laws will apply to them. Killing humans on their own is not allowed, instead for their need for blood is going to be done through blood donations like BBA is doing but that will be taken little further. For example volunteering people can donate blood in the hospitals as well and it will be sent to the BBA for them.
While for human's view, we are not allowed to hurt or kill them. They are allowed to move outside like everyone else. Since they are many who don't support this, we advise you to just stay away from them. There is no need to go attack them and instead you can protest other normal ways like any other. Just to be clear,' Mr. Kane spoke like to a small children.
Mr. Kane turned straight towards the camera, 'I would also ask you, Christian and others not to use your abilities among humans unless it's absolutely necessary and a must. More needs to be talked about and agreed upon on but those are done in the governments like any other agreements.'
'That's much is clear. Nothing surprising,' Tina stood up and stretched her hands high up. Eddy closed the television after the live was shut down.
'Do you want to go outside tonight or something? You can do that now,' Max asked.
'It would be nice actually not be stuck in this building,' Mike tapped his own chin, 'But is there a place we can go without getting hit?'
'If they do that, you can sue them you know. They are breaking the law then,' Kenny said with a smile, 'It might be just with small fraction now but no one is allowed to hurt you like anyone else.'
'That's really ensuring… not,' Mike snorted.
'We are out anyway. We want to go sightseeing since we are here,' Mariah stated happily before walking in front of Christian.
'Was it true that… Ray was a ghoul and he just… turned into dust when you killed Erik?' Mariah asked with sad tone in her voice. She was still disturbed about this and the fact that there wasn't even a body anymore made her feel helpless.
Christian opened his slowly and glanced at Mariah with calm eyes this time, 'Yeah.' Christian simply stated since there wasn't anything else he could say.
'Right. Thank you though. At least now he can rest in peace, somewhere,' Mariah nodded before running after Lee and the rest of the White Tigers. All Starz also said their goodbyes and decided to do the same thing and go look around the town.
'Alright. It's up to you to do whatever you want. BBA will keep an eye out for news and for other things. In the meantime, do what you want. Sun is setting in couple of hours and I also would suggest everyone to go out. Split up and have fun,' Dickenson smiled and stepped out himself.
'You people make this sound so easy,' Lara said and Tina pulled her up.
'Let's take a nap and wait for the sun set. I'm planning going outside. Besides we don't have to go out from the front door,' Tina pointed out.
'What do… Oh, right,' Tyson recalled the time he was on Rick's back, 'Just go outside from the front door and then jump and run fast?'
'It was a joke,' Tina blinked and pulled Lara with her.
'They seem to spend more time together than usual,' Rick noted before cracking his own neck, 'I'm going to go sleep too. Being up this early is tiring.'
'Do you want us to wake you up?' Sara asked and Rick narrowed his eyes at her.
'You actually want to do what Dickenson suggested. Fine,' Rick sighed before vanishing in front of their eyes in a snap.
'He could have just walked you know,' Tyson grunted disappointed.
'Do you want to practice Tyson? We have time to kill now before going out,' Max asked and took his green blade out.
'Is… Mike going to sleep?' Tyson asked and slowly turned to Mike who looked puzzled before a light pulp lightened up in his head.
'Most likely since I can. I and Sara were the ones who usually moved outside during the daytime already and are more used to it than others. But since not need for that like normally, I might as well take a nap. It beats you trying to defeat me in pin pong,' Mike turned around and stepped away.
'I could have won against you!' Tyson called out after him as Christian stood up.
'Boss is going to take a nap too,' Dizzy said.
'Dizzy! Stop it,' Kenny warned her and closed the laptop lid quickly.
'You should too Kai. Who can tell how much strength we will need out there,' Christian stated.
'You're not going to fight anybody. Why do you say that?' Tyson questioned.
Kai turned towards him since Christian was already walked away without turning around, 'Because it takes strength to keep ourselves in control too. It takes energy from humans too when trying to keep emotions calm.'
'Tyson. There is a very big chance that we will come across people who oppose them and won't be too bothered by the fact that hitting them with something isn't allowed to do. Kai and others need to keep their cool and not get too angry,' Kenny said sadly.
'What else can they call them than monsters?' Tyson pondered.
'Killers? Anything not human? Don't ask me but we will hear that,' Max tried to think of something but didn't come up with anything creative insult words.
'Whatever. See you later,' Kai said before heading towards his own room. He had trained Tyson and others again but hadn't accepted the official opposition to be Bladebreakers captain again even though Tyson called him that. It wasn't the right time yet for Kai either since it didn't feel the same anymore.
-That Evening-
Tyson and others were standing on the main hall waiting for Kai and others after sun was down enough. It wasn't pitch black because of the street and store lights. BBA main hall itself was almost empty. There were few kids running around but were preparing to leave anyway. While sitting down Kenny was going through their plans for the evening one more time. They would most likely walk on the main street with big stores to be on sight of security just in case someone decided to act out of line, from human side mostly.
'Over here!' Tyson yelled when he noticed Sara coming from the door with others closely behind her.
'Have you waited for long?' Sara asked.
Tyson shook his head with a smile, 'No. Kenny was just going through the plan here and White Tigers have gone ahead couple of hours ago themselves. It's just you and us.'
'Not worried?' Mike popped his head behind Sara with a smirk.
'What is there to be worried about?' Tyson stated.
'Don't take this too light Tyson. There are lot of people against them. We could meet trouble outside,' Kenny reminded and Tyson just patted Kenny on the back.
'You worry too much. If we encounter something, we'll just leave,' Tyson added.
'Hey Kai… how did you manage them when you were human?' Rick asked loud enough to Tyson to hear.
'What that supposed to mean jerk?' Tyson growled with wide angry eyes.
'Stop it. You need to realize Rick is messing with you,' Kai pushed Tyson slightly back.
'He could stop it too,' Tyson grunted when they saw Dickenson coming towards them. He gave them door cards to open the main doors of the building.
'With these you can get inside when coming back. Do enjoy your evening and be careful,' Dickenson said.
'Let's go!' Tyson grabbed Kai's arm and pulled him towards the front door. Sara, Tina, Mike, Kenny and Rick followed them straight behind while Max walked slower. He glanced behind him and saw Christian following them with neutral expression. Max went next to him.
'Are you feeling bothered? You can stay here if you want,' Max asked.
'No, it's fine,' Christian stated and they speeded up to catch up to others.
At the same time Tyson was preparing himself as they stepped outside. He didn't know what to expect from it but it was calmer than he thought. People just got looks from worried to curious. Tyson decided to lead them to the main street right away either way and in there everyone started to look around different stores.
'This is cute,' Tina pointed out a small doll on the window. Lara next to her leaned forward and smiled too a bit, 'I can agree with you. I didn't know you liked dolls.'
'You don't know everything about me,' Tina chuckled. On the other side of the street Tyson was drooling over cakes.
'You just ate man,' Max tried to knock some sense into Tyson while Kenny was holding his laughter behind them. Mike was just watching Tyson with amused look and didn't hold back his smirk. Christian, Kai and Rick were just standing behind them. Rick did sometimes glanced at the windows of the stores couple of times.
'You two are clearly related. It can be seen a mile away now,' Rick noted after noticing both of them having crossed their arms.
'What's your point?' Kai moved his arms down and into his pockets annoyed.
'Relax. Nothing to be ashamed off,' Rick said.
Kai watched Rick's expression too, 'You're not much of a smiler either.'
'Nothing to be happy about,' Rick simply answered. They followed others as they moved to other stores. It was like no one else was noticing it but humans around them were avoiding them like a plague. After few minutes they arrived to stores with stuff outside of them, like an open market. It was near a tall office building which was open all night and people working there overnight too.
'Kai!' Tyson called out, 'Can you eat fruits?!' he yelled from the fruit stand.
'Yeah but it doesn't taste of anything,' Mike replied.
'I was asking Kai dude, but that sucks,' Tyson picked up a fruit and paid for it only.
He took a bite of it while walking towards Kai, 'What does blood taste to you? When I have licked a wound on my own finger or something I taste iron.'
'Same actually. Why?' Kai questioned.
'No reason. Just curious,' just as Tyson stated that Christian whispered something.
'What did you say?' Max asked.
'Trouble,' Christian spoke when he suddenly threw his hand back and caught a big rock. Everyone turned around and saw a group of angry men.
'Get out of here monsters!' first one yelled.
'I think that's our cue to go,' Tina spoke quietly and Lara agreed.
'Did you hear me? You don't belong here!' man continued.
'Are you drunk or did you not watch the television? Everyone was told to leave them alone and if you don't approve, keep a way,' Tyson protested but Kai grabbed his arm.
'Don't bother. There's no use,' Kai didn't want to cause trouble and knowing Christian's experiences, this was not the time to do this.
'Fucking brat! They are monsters and nothing changes that!' another man added. People were already watching them closely.
'You…' Tyson tried to shout something back when he felt another arm on his shoulder. Looking back he was surprised to see it was Christian.
'Remember Tyson, to humans vampires are monsters since they are in someway above them in the food chain in one point of view. At the same time though, humans can be monsters too,' Christian's tone screamed cold and sharp and men seemed to back of a little.
'Humans are not monsters killing people!' man argued back.
'No? What about the people who have killed their own child? A friend? What about serial killer killing people with no reason? Massacres? And you're telling me humans can't be monsters,' Christian broke the rock between his fingers and crossed his arms again. Kai glanced around him and heard people talking among themselves.
'He's right about that.'
'But humans are still humans. Right?'
'They are both right.'
'Both sides have points.'
'Humans can be cruel too.'
Tyson placed his hands on his hips this time and tried to look tough, 'Why don't you just leave and enjoy your evening away from us. We are not causing trouble here.'
'How can we when… Aah!' man began when something exploded a few blocks away causing screams around them.
'What the heck was that?!' Mike shouted as people calmed down a bit.
'There!' Sara pointed towards the office building. It was on fire and it was spreading.
'Holy crap!' Tyson started to run towards it.
'Wait! Where are you going?!' Max yelled as others followed closely behind them. They soon arrived in front of the building and the scene was horrific. Entire building was engulfed in flames and buildings main structure was failing. People were still running out of the building as firefighters were trying to control the flames.
'Kenny?! Any idea?!' Max asked.
'A minute!' Kenny opened his laptop and started to write something, 'Looks like the gas pipe near the main power station exploded.
'How do you know that so fast?' Tina asked.
'Because of the place where the explosion happened and what people are saying online already. It could be something else but that's the cause they are thinking now anyway,' Kenny stated.
'Oh man…' Tyson was sweating bullets as he watched the scene. It was clear building might collapse soon and cause more harm.
'Can't you do anything? Stop the fire?' Tyson turned to Kai.
'Huh?' Kai was baffled.
'You heard me! Christian said you can control fire!' Tyson shouted.
'A little bit only. This is way too big and don't yell so loudly,' Kai growled.
'No use of stopping him. Everyone heard him already,' Mike pointed around them.
'What about you then? Rick can stop time or something!' Tyson continued.
'Stop it Tyson! Do you think they even want our help in the first place?' Kai questioned when a small kid stepped closer to them. It was clear child was saved from the building considering how the child looked.
'Please… Save my daddy. He's still in there. Please!' child suddenly dashed forward and took a hold onto Christian's hand, 'They said on the tv you were their leader and the strongest! Please, help my daddy!' child cried with big tears in the eyes.
Christian narrowed his eyes and watched the kid for a moment before sighing deeply, 'Rick, would you hold it for me?'
'Seriously? Fine,' Rick grunted and raised his two hands towards the building his palms towards it.
'His hands a glowing!' people yelled as Rick's hands showed light glow and got another shock. Flames stopped moving and rubble stopped in the midair.
'10 minutes only,' Rick said and Christian nodded. Without an effort Christian left running and jumped straight to floor 50. In there glancing around Christian quickly scanned the entire building up and down and found luckily only couple of humans still trapped. They won't be getting out on their own anymore. Closing his eyes he started to use his force ability and began lifting humans up and towards outside through the windows or other open spaces.
'Look!' outside people yelled when they saw humans floating down calmly, one of them being child's father.
'Daddy!' kid dashed towards him and jumped into his arms.
'Get away from the building! Now!' firefighter yelled when he turned to Rick and others.
'How much longer?!' he yelled.
'Under five minutes! You humans better run fast!' Rick shouted back. Stopping time for big building was more difficult than he first thought. Christian also was taking his bloody time. Finally, they saw Christian jump down right on his feet.
'Let go now,' Christian said while he created a visible force barrier around the building. After Rick dropped his arms down, the entire building started collapsing in front of their eyes but barrier kept the rubble and fire behind it.
After only couple of minutes Christian dropped the barrier firefighters started to stop the remaining fire from spreading.
'That's enough of that, don't you think?' Lara asked and Christian nodded. People didn't say anything and just moved away as they headed back towards BBA when the kid called out.
'Thank you so much! I'll never forget this! Bye!' kid yelled with happy voice. Christian didn't react and continued walking but Tyson waved back and ran after others.
'They are really powerful, aren't they?' a survivor stated, one of few who Christian had saved.
'I hate to say it but without them, damage here would have been a much worse. Straight up disaster. Collapsing building would have destroyed the stores and other buildings around it,' firefighter said.
-With Tyson And Others While Arriving To The BBA-
'Thank god that's over. Wanna do that again?' Tyson asked but got punched on the head.
'We have no idea what the consequences are going to be from this! We were meant to not cause trouble,' Kai grunted.
'Last time I checked you saved people just now. Well, Rick and Christian but that doesn't change it,' Tyson rubbed his head.
'Tyson,' Christian stopped walking and turned to Tyson who looked puzzled.
'I know you mean well but I don't want to do that again,' Christian said.
'Why? I know it might seems like cheating but helping people would show them you mean no harm,' Tyson pointed out.
'It doesn't work like in the movies,' Christian continued walking towards the doors of BBA. Tyson watched Rick, Mike, Tina and Lara follow Christian inside without a word.
'What's their problem?' Tyson growled.
'Try to understand. It's not in their nature to go around like Spiderman saving people. We need to give things time to move on their on speed,' Sara stroked Tyson's shoulder slightly, 'See you later.'
'Bye,' Max replied as Kai and Sara left too.
'They have a point Tyson. We can't rush this,' Kenny said.
'Yeah, I know,' Tyson did agree with others. It was difficult to watch people treat them badly after helping them already so much.
It was little quick at the end but it's Christian. Hope you liked it.
I might have problems with alerts again and FF not sending them to my email despite the setting being on. But despite that I do enjoy reviews when I see them.
