Ben 10: Alien Rebirth
Chapter 47: Back to Bellwood
We see several cop cars chasing after a stolen bank truck!
The thug driving, "these frigging pigs won't let up!"
His partner, "just keep driving! We can lose 'em at the next intersection!"
Suddenly, a loud thump was heard and felt from atop the truck!
The driver, "what the Hell?"
Suddenly, Feedback jumped on top of the hood!
He smirked at the thugs and said, "howdy boys. Mind stopping this car?"
The thugs screamed as the truck drove out of control down the road!
Feedback gave a smug grin before she used his tail to break the windshield. He then proceeded to poke bot thugs, eliciting two electric shocks that knocked the criminals out cold! Feedback pushed the crooks aside and jumped into the divers seat before slamming the breaks! The truck stopped after a few moments. Feedback jumped out and started climbing up a fire escape on a nearby building as the police surrounded the truck and apprehended the criminals.
As Feedback got to the building roof, he saw the others all there already. How convenient.
Kevin, "nice work."
Feedback, "yeah. Feedback rules! So what's next? Ben 10 is ready to keep saving the day."
Max, "well, I hope you're ready to do some writing."
Feedback, "huh?"
Max, "tomorrow, we're headed back to Bellwood. School is back in a few days."
Feedback's single eye went wide as he yelled, "OH MAN!"
….
About a day later….
We see the Rustbucket pass by a sign that reads, "Welcome to Bellwood."
Ben had a solemn look on his face as he sat with Gwen, Hope and Kevin. Summer was almost over. And now he was back in Bellwood. Boring ol' Bellwood.
Kevin also had a look of worry. Their first stop was gonna be bringing him back home. He was worried about the reunion between him, his mom and his step-dad. He was worried; would they be angry? Of course they would. Why wouldn't they be? He left in the middle of the night after losing control of his powers.
Gwen saw Kevin's worried look and patted his hand, hoping to comfort him a little.
Kevin gave a small but grateful smile in return.
He said, "thanks, cutie."
Gwen blushed and quickly retracted her hand.
Soon, the Rustbucket stopped in front of a certain house.
The look on Kevin's face made it clear that this was his house.
Max, "come on Kevin. We're here."
Kevin nodded as he got up, saying goodbye to all the others before he followed Max out of the RV.
Xylene and the others all watched from the windows of the Rustbucket as Max and Kevin walked up to the front steps.
Kevin stood behind Max as he rang the doorbell.
After a few moments, a woman with black hair, wearing a pink shirt and gray jeans answered.
This was clearly Kevin's mom. Pamela Levin-Hackett.
She said in mild shock, "Max? What're you doing here? It's been awhile."
Max, "I know. Sorry I haven't visited in so long. But I've got a very good reason to be here."
"What is it, honey?"
Appearing next to Pam was Harvey Hackett, Pam's husband and Kevin's step-dad. He wore a blue flannel, black jeans and was balding slightly.
He said, "oh! Max. It's good to see you. What brings you here?"
Max took a breath before he moved aside to reveal Kevin and said, "I found your son."
Pam and Harvey gasped in shock.
Pam, "K-Kevin?"
Kevin, "h-hi mom…. Hi Harvey…."
Kevin stood there awkwardly, half expecting his mom and step-dad to start yelling at him for being gone for so long. But Kevin gasped as he was suddenly pulled into a hug by his crying parents.
Pam cried, "we were so worried about you!"
Harvey cried, "we searched everywhere we could to find you!"
Pam cried, "we're so sorry for the things we said when you lost control!"
Harvey cried, "we never meant to push you away!"
Kevin began crying as well as he hugged his mom and step-dad close. The two sat there, holding one another and crying for s solid two minutes.
Everyone in the RV cried at the heartwarming reunion. Max shed a few years as well as he smiled at the family.
Pam told Max, "thank you…. Thank you so much, Max."
Max, "Devin was like family to me. I wasn't gonna rest until his son was back home. And neither did Ben. He was the one to help Kevin."
Ben smiled as he heard his grandpa's words.
Harvey said, "thank you so much. This means a lot Max."
Pam began to lead Kevin inside, eager to catch up with her son.
Harvey and Max shook hands and talked for a few minutes before Max returned to the Rustbucket.
He said, "next stop: Gwen's house."
….
A few minutes later….
Max dropped Gwen off at her house. Gwen had shared a loving hug with her cousin, grandparents and Hope before they brought her to her house. Gwen shared a happy reunion with her parents and brother. Ben and Ken shared a hug. Gwen's parents were shocked but happy to see Xylene with them. And Gwen's family was very friendly towards Hope.
After a brief visit, now it was time to bring Ben back to his own house.
As they drove to Ben's house, Ben and Hope talked.
Ben, "so, where are you gonna stay now?"
Hope, "Max offered me a place at his house."
Ben, "cool. Then I guess I'll still be able to see you once summer's over?"
Hope smirked, kissed Ben on the cheek and said, "count on it, sweety."
Ben gave a dumb grin.
Soon, the Rustbucket arrived outside of Ben's house.
Max, "we're here. Grab your stuff, Ben."
Ben nodded as he grabbed his bag, and made sure his watch was hidden by his wristband. Max and the others thought it best that Ben's parents not know about the Omnitrix for now.
The four of them all walked over to the house. Despite the fact that summer was almost over, Ben was happy to see his parents again after so long.
Xylene looked nervous as well. This was the first time she had seen her son in a long time.
Max gave a knock at the door.
After a few moments, the door opened up. Ben's dad, Carl, was the one who answered. Ben shared his dad's green eyes and brown hair. His dad wore a white shirt and black pants.
He smiled and said, "dad. Son. So good to see you."
Carl hugged his dad and son close. But that's right when he noticed Xylene standing there.
He asked in shock, "mom?"
Xylene smiled and said, "hello son. It's been awhile…."
Carl grew an overjoyed smile and hugged his mom close.
Carl, "I haven't seen you since Ben was born."
Xylene, "I know. I'm so sorry I took so long for me to return for a visit."
Carl, "I'm just happy to see you again."
Xylene, "well, you'll be seeing me a lot more now. I'm staying on Earth with your father for a very long time."
Carl smiled before he saw Hope.
He asked, "who's this?"
Max, "this is Hope. We met her during the trip across the country."
Carl, "where are her parents?"
Max, "it's a long story. One involving…. Supernatural events."
Carl assumed this involved magic or aliens, which he knew about by now, given his dad being a Plumber, and his mom being an alien.
Xylene said, "she'll be staying with us for now."
Carl, "I see. Well, why don't you all come inside? Sandra just made some cookies."
Ben smiled from ear to ear and quickly sped inside.
Hope chuckled and thought, 'that's my boyfriend.'
Ben sped into the kitchen, where his mom had just placed a batch of cookies down on the top of the stove.
Sandra Tennyson had shoulder length blonde hair, blue eyes, and wore a red sweater and black mom jeans.
When Sandra saw her son, she smiled and said, "Ben!"
She went over and hugged her son warmly.
Sandra, "I missed you so much, sweety."
Ben, "I missed you too, mom."
Sandra then saw the others enter.
She went slightly wide-eyed when she saw Xylene and Hope with her husband and father in-law.
One long explanation later, and Sandra was caught up to speed on everything. She already knew about aliens and the supernatural as well due to being married to Carl, and her mother in-law being an alien.
Ben, Max, Xylene and Hope told Ben's parents about what happened over the course of the summer. This included the Omnitrix.
Ben's parents were shocked to learn their son was now wielding a watch that gave him the abilities to transform into countless aliens across the galaxy.
But Ben promised, "I won't use the Omnitrix unless a situation calls for it. Like if someone like Vilgax or one of the Negative 10 members comes back to attack me. The most I'll use it for in the meantime is to help in certain situations. Like say using Greymatter to solve a problem. Or XLR8 if I'm late for school. But I'll make sure no-one finds out about my secret identity."
Sandra, "well, we appreciate you telling us all this, Ben. We're glad you trusted us enough to tell us."
Carl, "you seem to have really matured over the summer."
Ben smiled, "I went through a lot during the summer. Made many friends. Foes….", he looked at Hope, "very strong bonds."
Max, Xylene, Carl and Sandra smiled very proudly.
After another few minutes of meeting, Max, Xylene and Hope decided to head to Max's house, (which was mostly used for storage.)
Hope gave Ben another kiss on the cheek before she and Ben's grandparents left.
Ben then settled back into his room. It was still a little messy, but that was to be expected given Ben's age. There were various posters on the wall for Sumo Slammers, Captain Nemesis, Kangaroo Commando, etc.
Ben looked down at the watch and smirked. Perhaps a little help from XLR8? No, Ben decided. He could clean his room without super powers.
But soon, Ben smiled. He was happy to be home….
….
A few days later….
Ben was currently being driven to school by his parents.
It was his first day back to Hell, as he thought but would never say in front of his parents.
He was just glad Hope and Kevin would be at school with him.
Soon, Ben's parents dropped him off, his dad hugging him and his mom kissing his forehead, much to Ben's embarrassment, before he got out of the car and walked towards the school.
He already saw Kevin and Hope best the entrance. Kevin looked a bit surly, while Hope was conversing with…. Gwen?
Indeed, Gwen, her brother Ken, and a young Asian girl were talking to her. This was Julie, one of Ben and Gwen's shared friends from school.
Ben walked over, "hey everyone."
Hope smiled, "hey sweet."
Hope kissed Ben on the cheek, making him blush with a big dumb grin.
Julie giggled as Ken said, "hey Ben. Good to see you again."
Ben, "hey Ken. So, did you and Gwen get transferred to this school?"
Gwen, "yep. Mom and dad figured it'd be better for me and Ken to be here with you and Hope."
Ben, "well, looks like we'll be spending even more time together during school."
Gwen, "looks that way."
"Hey! Tennyson!"
Ben groaned as the group turned to see Cash and J.T approaching them.
Kevin, "who're these clowns?"
Gwen, "Cash and J.T. Long time bullies of Ben."
J.T, "you better be ready for a whole nother year of pain, Tennyson."
Kevin stepped forward and said, "go chew an eraser, dude."
Cash, "and just who the Hell are you?"
Kevin cracked his knuckles, "I'm Kevin Levin. And until the bell rings, you're in danger…."
Cash growled, "do your worst, freak."
Ben, Hope and Gwen glanced at one another and thought, 'oh shit.'
….
Cash and J.T were hanging from a tree branch by their underwear. The other kids who were bullied by Cash and J.T all laughed at their predicament.
Ben, a very smug looking Kevin and the others all went inside to begin their first day of school….
….
Meanwhile….
Something from space entered Earth's atmosphere and crashed right outside of Bellwood!
Emerging from a small crater formed in the ground was…. A black and red Galvanic Mecamorph!
It was Malware!
Malware growled, "so this is Earth? Ugh. How pitiful. Now…. Where is Ben Tennyson and the Omnitrix…."
….
Later that day….
Ben and the others had just finished school and were heading out.
Ken was gonna go spend some time with Julie after school to work on some homework together. Kevin was picked up by his mom and Harvey.
Ben and Gwen decided to go visit Max and Xylene while escorting Hope home.
Gwen had called her and Ben's parents to inform them of this before they walked all the way to Max's house. The Rustbucket was in the driveway. But upon approaching the vehicle, they heard screaming coming from the woods behind the house!
Ben and Gwen yelled, "Grandpa! Grandma!"
Hope, "come on!"
The three ran into the woods. After a full minute, they found Malware lifting up Max by his shirt as Xylene laid on the ground, groaning in pain.
Malware yelled, "I grow tired of your games, Tennyson! Where is this Omnitrix?!"
Max, "I keep telling you, Malware! I won't tell you where Ben is! You're a living computer! How can't you figure that out?"
Ben quickly dialed up the watch and yelled, "hey! Ugly!"
Malware turned towards Ben as he slammed down on the Omnitrix, transforming into FourArms in a flash of green light.
FourArms, "lookin' for me?"
Malware dropped Max and growled, "the Omnitrix! Give it to me!"
FourArms, "like I haven't heard that before."
FourArms ran forward and punched Malware a good twenty feet away!
FourArms, "Gwen! Hope! Help Grandpa and Grandma. I'm gonna purge this virus from the system…."
Malware rose to his feet.
FourArms, "so you're Malware? That Mecamorph my grandparents faced multiple times?"
Malware said, "indeed. And you're my target. Their grandson who has the Omnitrix!"
Malware ran at FourArms, and the two began fighting in the forest. Malware throws punches and creates rocky structures out of the ground to send FourArms flying. Malware shoots an energy beam which FourArms just about manages to dodge.
FourArms, "aright, fine. I wanted to do this the easy way, but the hard way is okay, too."
FourArms lifts up a tree and prepares to swing it at Malware.
FourArms, "FORE…. Arms. Hehe. Still got it!"
Malware liquefies himself to avoid getting hit.
Malware, "this is the great Ben Tennyson? Bearer of the Omnitrix? Grandson to Max Tennyson, the greatest Plumber in history? Savior of the univ-"
FourArms suddenly smacks Malware into a tree.
FourArms, "and don't you forget it, buddy. You think you're the only crazy alien that wants the Omnitrix I've ever dealt with? Pff. It's gonna take a lot more to surprise me."
Malware, "indeed."
Malware places his hand on the Omnitrix and begins copying its schematics. FourArms struggles. The Omnitrix times out, turning FourArms back to Ben. Ben notices that he has changed back.
Ben, "aw, man!"
Ben tries to activate the Omnitrix, but it is timed out.
Malware, "any last pithy quips or clever observations before I destroy you, Ben Tennyson?"
Ben, "okay. If you're gonna stand there blabbing at me, Malware, at least pop a breath mint, will ya?"
Malware is clueless as the Omnitrix recharges.
Ben proceeds to slap down on the watch, transforming in a bright green light!
He had turned into Feedback!
Feedback, "oh yeah, Feedback!"
Malware attacks Feedback, but he dodges. Feedback tackles Malware and absorbs his energy. He then blasts him far away, probably into the next county; with an electric blast.
Feedback, "HE SHOOTS, HE SCORES!"
Feedback jumps into the air, and then times back into Ben, causing him to fall onto the ground.
Ben, "HYAAA", he jumps up, "yeah, you better run! Ow…."
The others approach.
Max, "he'll be back. I know it…."
Ben, "yeah. I'm sure he will. But it's gonna take everything he's got before he can stop us."
Ben smiled at his family and girlfriend, who smiled right back.
This clearly wasn't the end of their adventures….

And originally Ben wasn't gonna reveal his secret to his parents in this chapter, but I decided to change it. Ben won't get Feedback after losing him until Omniverse.

Guest: yep. This two parter was fun to write. I loved having Feedback appear in it. I'm glad you liked how I named Driscoll and made him a former mentor to Max, as well as how I started Kevin's redemption arc. I plan to have him help during Race Against Time, Destroy All Aliens and the Malware arc. My main plan is to adapt most of the various Omniverse flashbacks as a montage leading up to when Ben loses Feedback. Yes, I plan for Hex to start his redemption during the Aggregor arc. I'm not sure how I'll redeem Phil yet. I made sure to show how Dr. Viktor ended up in Zarkovia. Viktor: The Spoils will play out differently to canon. Especially since Kevin won't go after Viktor in Absolute Power: Part 1. And yeah, this chapter tackles some of the events of Goodbye and Good Riddance, but it plays out more like its own episode.

Yeah, so this chapter takes a few things from Goodbye and Good Riddance, showing Ben and the others returning home from the summer and settling back into life in Bellwood.
But instead of Vilgax showing up and attacking Ben's house, we get Malware attacking the Rustbucket while Ben and Gwen are visiting, building up the events with him and Feedback.
Also, originally I was gonna have Ben keep the Omnitrix a secret from his parents, but as I worked on the chapter, I realized it didn't work. So I had Ben tell his parents about the watch, but promise to only use it when necessary.
Next up will be Race Against Time...
