NOTE: Do not confuse "official" with "canon", those are NOT the same thing.
Power levels have nothing to do with them reacting to DBH. Why does that even matter?
This story takes place post-Superhero, which means they've already experienced Moro and Granolah arc. Since the Granolah stuff was just Goku and Vegeta, the rest of the cast will be surprised by what happens.

Chapter 3: The Demon King
"I wonder what we're going to see next!" Goten spoke between mouthfuls of popcorn.
"Don't speak with your mouth full, Goten!" Marron reprimanded him.
"Hopefully, whatever it is can be more exciting than what we've seen so far." Trunks said lazily.
"Welp, looks like you're about to get your answer." Mai spoke up as the screen turned back on. Everyone in the theater turned their attention back to the screen.
Sitting in the middle of a grassy field was a young Goku and Yajirobe. Next to the two were a couple of bones of some creature.
"So, we're still sticking to our older days, but what's with the skeleton?" Bulma asked.
"Oh yeah! I remember this!" Goku exclaimed, getting everyone's attention. "Yajirobe ate one of King Piccolo's kids."
"HE ATE THEM!?" Piccolo screamed, actually surprised by it. The Pilaf Gang grew nervous, realizing there was a good chance of them appearing during this.
"King Piccolo!? I didn't know you were a king!" Goten turned to Piccolo. Some members of the audience were not aware of the history their group possessed.
Gohan shook his head. "No, Goten, that's not exactly true." While Gohan wasn't completely knowledgeable on what went down when his parents were kids, he knew that Piccolo wasn't always good.
"What exactly are we about to see?" Krillin asked. He was a bit nervous, since this would've taken place after he was already killed, but his death was likely going to come up.
Piccolo huffed, knowing he was going to have to explain. Digging deep into his own memories, he had a feeling of what was about to be shown. "A fight or maybe two of them."
"You're in danger, ya know!" Goku informed the swordsman.
"That doesn't matter. I'll just eat anyone else who comes." Yajirobe responded.
Beerus looked disgusted. "What a weird appetite."
"Are you sure you should be saying that Lord Beerus?" Whis giggled.
"Shut it, Whis! I don't eat anything that isn't already cooked and prepared!"
"They're after that thing around your neck, you should give it to me." Goku explained, pointing at the Dragon Ball Yajirobe had around his neck.
"Why? Then I won't get any more food. I'm hungry!"
"Who's collecting the Dragon Balls?" Videl asked.
"King Piccolo, so that he can acquire his youth back." Tien answered. The tri-clops still felt responsible for being unable to stop the wish from being granted.
"Safe to assume that with his youth, King Piccolo would have his maximum strength back?" Gamma 1 spoke up.
"You would be correct." Piccolo responded.
"You know you sound just like my dead friend, Krillin." Goku noticed the similarity.
"Dead?" Marron and 18 glanced at Krillin. The cyborg was only aware of Krillin's deaths at the hands of Freeza and Buu, not a third one.
"Now that you mention it… Krillin and Yajirobe do sound alike." Yamcha said.
"No we don't." Krillin argued.
"I don't sound like anyone!" Yajirobe yelled. Then, he thought about it for a moment. "But if I do then this guy must be good looking."
"No, he's short and has no nose."
"HE'S A MONSTER TOO!"
"HEY! What's that supposed to mean!?" Krillin yelled at Goku, who was laughing.
Marron rubbed her nose again. "I'm once again thankful that I have my mom's looks."
"I'm leaving, you can go that way." Yajirobe grumbled, already sick of Goku.
"See you again!" Goku waved happily.
"See you again? I don't want to meet you again." Yajirobe grumbled.
"Yeah, but I need that ball, and others will be coming for it too." Goku repeated.
"Why? What's so special about it?"
"Well, you need to collect all 7-" Before Goku could finish explaining, a green monstrous-looking creature flew down towards them.
Even after all these years, Krillin could feel his bones shaking slightly as he stared at the demon that killed him as a child. It was like Freeza all over again, there was really no moving past the fact that you've died so easily before.
"Are you okay?" 18 asked softly, noticing the fear gripping her husband.
"Y-yeah, I'm fine." He smiled, appreciating her comfort.
Goku's eyes burned with anger. "He's the one who killed Krillin! You're gonna die!"
Marron and 18 were shocked to see that Krillin had been killed a long time ago, and that one who did it looked so creepy. "No wonder you look so spooked." 18 gripped his hand to give Krillin some comfort.
Their daughter quickly came over and gave her father a hug. "Are you okay, Dad?" she asked, worried for him.
The monk smiled at his daughter. "I'm just fine, sweetheart. Thanks for looking out for me."
The original gang smiled at the sweet scene, all of them remembering the feeling of despair that Krillin's first death had brought them. Especially Goku, who was happy that he got to avenge his best friend's death.
And now Krillin would get to see it too.
"I know you! I killed you!" Tambourine exclaimed, surprised to see Goku was still alive.
"What does he mean by that?" Chiaotsu asked.
"When I first chased after him, I was clouded by anger. There was nothing I wanted more than to get revenge for Krillin, but I couldn't focus correctly. I would've been dead if I didn't find Yajirobe's food and eat it!" Goku explained.
Roshi grumbled at his star student. "Which is why I told you not to chase after him. Nothing good comes from being blinded by your own anger."
Vegeta stiffened a bit after hearing that.
"You think you could kill me, that could be a joke! I'm gonna wipe the floor with your face!" Goku declared.
"C'mon, Goku, kill him already! I'm hungry!" Yajirobe shouted from the sides.
"And eating is all he cares about…" Bulma grumbled.
"So you think you can beat me? Don't you remember what happened last time?" Tambourine reminded the monkey boy. "I'll beat you and kill you. Just like I did to your cloud."
"Stop blabbering, let's get started." Goku said.
Gohan wasn't used to his dad being so serious, not that there were moments he wasn't, but there was only one time that he could remember his dad being this angry. Which was back on Namek after Freeza killed Krillin.
It was funny in a twisted sort of way of how Krillin's death was one of the biggest sources of his father's fury.
Tambourine huffed. "Fine, but I will kill you like your bald headed friend."
"So it was you! Now you've pissed me off!" Goku's fury skyrocketed. "Don't worry, Krillin! I'll avenge your death!"
"I don't think I've ever seen you so angry before…" Chi-Chi frowned. This was a side of her husband that she wasn't used to.
"Really?" Goku hummed in thought. "Guess, I've never been that angry much, huh?"
"Yeah, but that's probably what makes it all the more terrifying when you do get mad." Yamcha jokes.
"Should've seen him on Namek. I think that's the highest peak of Dad's anger, even more than when the Tournament of Power happened." Gohan thought.
Tambourine didn't take him seriously. "So you really want to die. Fine, but I warned you-" Before Tambourine could blink, Goku vanished from his sight. The young Saiyan blitzing around him with speed the demon couldn't comprehend. His daze was broken by Goku's elbow bashing into his jaw, then a flurry of strikes into his chest, and an uppercut that sent him flying.
"Take this!" Goku kneed the demon in the back of his skull, knocking him into the ground. Seeing his opponent was down, Goku gave a peace sign. "Peace."
Whis hummed, satisfied with Goku's quick and effective strikes. "Though, I do recommend making sure your opponents are down for the count, Goku."
"Sure thing, Whis!" Goku exclaimed. The angel knew better than to expect Goku to remember what he just said.
Tambourine struggled to his feet. "How can he…"
"Huh? You're still alive?" Goku asked, surprised.
"How could this happen to one of Piccolo's children? How could a human do this!?" Tambourine questioned with disbelief.
Dende finally decided to ask this question. "If he was one of your children, then why doesn't he look Namekian?"
"Technically he's not my child, he's one of the children of the Demon King Piccolo, who gave birth to me before I fused with Kami. To answer your question it's due to the evil energy King Piccolo fused with the eggs, creating monstrosities that lacked Namekian features. Especially the regeneration factor." Piccolo explained.
"I'm confused." Goku said.
"Nobody expects you to understand." Vegeta told him.
Tambourine attacked with a mouth blast, but Goku dodged the attack before it hit. The demon stared at the young Saiyan as if he was some kind of monster. He attempted to escape, flying through the air.
"Goku! He's trying to fly away!" Yajirobe cried.
"You're not getting away! This one's for Krillin!" Goku declared. Taking out his Power Pole, Goku used it to extend into the air after Tambourine. "KA! ME! HA! ME! HAAA!" The blue beam caught Tambourine with ease, obliterating the demon instantly.
"Yeah, Goku/Dad!" His friends and family cheered for their friend's triumph over the demon.
Krillin turned to his best friend with a grateful smile. He knew that Goku had avenged him in some way after they were brought back to life, but it felt even better to see that his killer was brought down. "Thanks, Goku."
The Saiyan from Earth returned the smile. "You don't have to thank me, Krillin. There was no way I was going to let him get away with that."
Dr. Hedo was muttering to himself. "It's like the hero avenging his lost comrade by defeating the main villain! A true superhero!"
Hercule stared at the screen, surprised that the viewing was still going. "Uh? Wouldn't it end after Goku won?"
Bulma shrugged. "I mean, that's not a wrong assumption, but I don't really know when or where they'll end. But even I figured this one would've stopped at this point."
Goku looked down at the Dragon Radar, confused as it seemed like another Dragon Ball was heading towards them. "It's here!"
"What? Who's here? There's no one!" Yajirobe looked around the field.
Goku looked up, gasping loud enough to get Yajirobe's attention. "IT'S UP THERE!" Right above the two was King Piccolo's airship.
"What the hell's that thing!?" Yajirobe yelled.
"Master Piccolo, we have arrived at your destination!"
"What the? That voice sounds familiar, though it's a little mature." Trunks said. He and the others didn't notice how the Pilaf Gang tensed up after hearing Mai's voice.
Piccolo was the only one to side-eye them, knowing their full involvement with King Piccolo's return.
"Piccolo?" Yajirobe questioned.
Goku grinned in anticipation. "Seems the Demon King is paying us a visit!"
"You're way too happy about that." Krillin sighed.
"It's Goku, what do you expect?" Yamcha smiled.
Suddenly, remembering who Demon King Piccolo is, Yajirobe was quick to hand the Dragon Ball over to Goku. The samurai ran away from the eventual battle to save his own skin.
"Yeah, that's much more like the Yajirobe we know." Yamcha said.
King Piccolo descended from his ship, landing in front of Goku. The old Namekian was dressed in a black dress with the demon symbol on the front and a billowing white cape.
"That's not Mr. Piccolo!" Pan yelled. That evil looking monster looked nothing like the Mr. Piccolo she knew.
Videl smiled, patting her daughter's head. "Exactly, Pan! Our Piccolo is just a green grouch, not a bad guy, right?"
"Right!"
"OI!" Piccolo yelled at the two, making them laugh.
"Okay, so since he's finally here can someone explain what this guy's deal is?" Cheelai asked.
Roshi spoke up first, having first hand experience with the Demon King. "The Demon King Piccolo was an extraordinary force who wreaked havoc upon this world many centuries ago. It was only thanks to my Master Mutaito, who sealed King Piccolo in an Electric Rice Cooker, with the Mafuba that the world was saved." Roshi explained. "How he managed to escape is beyond me."
Once again, nobody noticed the Pilaf Gang's nervous twitches, regretting their choices of almost dooming the world to anarchy. Well, Mai and Shu regretted it, Pilaf simply regretted that he didn't just steal the Dragon Balls for himself.
Piccolo spoke up next. "Demon King Piccolo, my father, was the other half of Kami. The two originally were a single Namekian, a different version of me. But I cannot recall the name that I used to have, so I still go by Piccolo." The Namekian warrior tried to clear up that confusion. "The original was so devastated by the evil that humanity possessed that he split himself into good and evil. Thus, the birth of King Piccolo."
"And you're his reincarnation, right?" Tien asked.
"Yes, Demon King Piccolo placed part of his soul into the egg that would hatch the original Piccolo, thus creating his reincarnation." Piccolo answered.
Beerus yawned loudly. "As nice as this history lesson is, can we get back to the show?" The God of Destruction's word was law, so everyone turned back to the screen.
Goku glared at King Piccolo. "You're the guy that killed Krillin and stole my Dragon Ball, aren't you!?"
"I suppose. You have another Dragon Ball in your possession." King Piccolo noticed. "You must be strong since you were able to kill my demons."
"They were the appetizers. You'll be the main course! You're dead!"
Vegeta grunted in annoyance, suddenly thinking back to Goku Black calling him an "appetizer".
King Piccolo laughed at the kid's ignorance. "Ha Ha Ha! You don't seem to know my ferocity! It's true that you are a little young for that."
"Are you famous or something!?" Goku demanded.
"It's been a while since I wanted to kill someone so badly. You don't seem to deserve my wrath!" King Piccolo said sinisterly.
"Shut up, you jerk!" Goku charged him, catching the Demon King off guard with his speed. The young Saiyan landed several hits against the Namekian, but was forced to stop to avoid getting grabbed. Wrapping his tail around the demon's wrist, Goku went in for another punch. However, Piccolo countered with his own punch, but Goku recovered with a double back kick.
Broly paid close attention to how Goku fought, wondering if he could replicate how his friend fought even without his tail.
King Piccolo stood up, recovering from the hit. "I never thought that someone would be able to knock me down. Now I understand how you were able to beat my warriors."
"Of course, it's the Saiyan who was able to stand against him when the rest of the humans couldn't." Vegeta said.
"True." Tien had to admit it. "Goku's insane growth and power was the only chance we had against King Piccolo, especially when I couldn't do it myself."
King Piccolo tossed off his dress and cape, revealing his dark GI underneath. "There's nothing left to say. You deserve…what's going to happen to you! I'm cruelty incarnate!"
"Oh yeah!?" Goku wasn't afraid. "You don't seem like much!"
"Mistake number one." Whis chimed.
Before Goku could blink, King Piccolo kicked him into the air. "HIOOOH!" The Demon King's fist spiked the boy back into the Earth, so hard that Goku's body created a hole in the ground. Reaching into the hole, Piccolo lifted Goku by the scruff of his GI. "Heh, still breathing?"
"Of course-"
POW!
Chi-Chi turned away from the screen to avoid seeing Goku get brutalized. The Ox-King tried to comfort her.
"I hope dad's fine." Goten said.
"Huh? Yeah, I'm fine." Goku replied.
"No, Dad, that's not what he meant." Gohan sighed.
Goku bit King Piccolo's hand, forcing the Demon King to drop him.
"You always resort to biting people." Krillin pointed out.
Goku grinned. "It's effective, nobody ever sees it coming!"
Goku, littered with wounds, struggled back to his feet. All the while, King Piccolo laughed with diabolical giddy. "Heh heh heh! Perhaps you should try to run away!"
"Dammit!" Goku cursed.
"It's stunning! You're stronger than other humans, your speed and strength are incomparable!" King Piccolo complimented him. "Whatever it is, I'm going to have to kill you! Too bad for you! But the thought of it makes me glad!"
The next several moments consisted of a brutal beatdown, King Piccolo refused to give the child any chance to breathe. Goku could barely keep up with the Demon King, his chances of winning dwindled by the second.
Almost everyone in the audience felt disturbed, most of them weren't used to seeing Goku get beaten down so easily.
"Stupid old geezer!" Chi-Chi cursed at King Piccolo.
Goku prepared to use the Kamehameha, scaring King Piccolo for a brief moment.
"Huh? Why did he look scared for a moment?" Lemo asked.
"He assumed that Goku was going to use the Mafuba, which was the only way to beat him at the time." Piccolo answered.
"KA! ME! HA! ME! HAAA!" King Piccolo took the attack head on, a wide smile on his face. When the dust cleared, Goku stared in horror at the unscathed King Piccolo.
"Happy?" King Piccolo asked. When Goku didn't respond, the Demon King simply continued. "Fine…enough kidding around! Time for you to die!"
"Kick his butt already, Goku!" Hercule yelled.
The Saiyan from Earth laughed. "Hehe…sorry." He apologized, confusing some of the audience members.
"He's strong…there's no way I can win!" Goku realized.
"Can you avoid this!?" King Piccolo charged up his power, building up energy in his hands. "TSUAAAH!" A powerful energy wave was launched at Goku. The young Saiyan jumped to avoid the attack, but it left him open for the next one.
"WHAT THE…!?" Goku was hit with the full force of the blast. His body dropped with a loud thud. There was an unnatural stillness to him that unsettled Yajirobe, who was watching from the sidelines.
King Piccolo placed his hand on Goku's chest. "His heart stopped. He's dead."
"YOU ACTUALLY DIED!?" Bulma screamed.
"No, I lived past this." Goku responded.
"But you did! Even if it was for a few seconds, he did kill you!" Bulma exclaimed. "Even then, we all thought you were dead."
"Really?" Goku blinked, surprised.
"When you didn't come back after chasing after Piccolo's minion the only thing we could assume was that you died as well. You took the Dragon Radar, we had no way of finding you, and suddenly King Piccolo made his declaration of sending the world into complete anarchy." Yamcha explained. "We didn't know you were alive until after you stopped him."
Goku nodded his head, sort of understanding that he caused his friends a lot of worry with his own reckless actions. He figured it was fine since he was alive and everything turned out alright. But…
"Sorry, guys." Goku apologized. "I never really explained anything as well as I should've, so my bad."
His friends all shook their heads. "It's fine, Goku. Everything turned out fine in the end, but just make sure to let us know when you're doing alright. A little call wouldn't hurt." Krillin said.
Goku grinned, nodding his head with enthusiastic vigor. "Sure!"
Chapter End
NOTE: I hope you all enjoyed this chapter. If you're wondering why I didn't bother much with the Pilaf Gang (And why I'll continue to not do so), it's because of two reasons:
1. I'm incredibly lazy.
2. Too much of a pain in my ass.
Word of warning, I won't be updating this fic and a good chunk of my others for a while, because I want to pour all of my energy into finishing my personal favorite fic Priestess 10 before the summer ends. Once I finish that one, I'll be back to continue this one.
If I fail to accomplish this, I'll be shattering the bones in both of my legs (Joke).
Next Chapter - Z-Fighters get bullied by Vegeta's dumbass friend.
