A.N: Alright guys! The last chapter of The Little Green Hero. First off, I'd like to thank all the people who reviewed, whether regulars or if you only reviewed once, thanks for doing it! It made my day. I mean 83 reviews?! *dances*
Next, a special shout out to 17blanceri for helping me throughout writing this, giving me tips, and all in all being there when I needed help. You rock Melody! *virtual fist-bump*
Another shout out to jammed123 and Hailstorm for reading the entire story to the last update, and asking for more. Seriously, just…*blushes*
Lastly, thanks to all who read the story when I first posted it, and gave me a chance with it. Those first reviews gave me the motivation to continue it up until this point.
BUT, though it may be the end of this story, there is more to come. That's right people! Sequel.
Not one-hundred percent sure it'll happen or when it'll come up, but we'll see.
I have a few questions for you guys to answer at the end, since I would like to have some feedback. And…read on!
Four days later was Christmas day, and the Bounty was alive with music, color and lights. At the last minute, everyone was getting each other gifts. Nothing extravagant, but more of a token of appreciation. Holiday tunes weaved throughout the Bounty, and the tree Cole and Jay picked out was strung with lights and popcorn, (which everyone constantly reminded Lloyd and Zoe not to eat off the tree.)
Lord Garmadon and Kazuki decided to stick around for a few more days until things died down a bit. Lloyd was extremely disappointed that his father was leaving, after all this time they spent together. However, he was reminded that his father came only to make sure he was safe, and now he finally was.
On the news that afternoon as everyone was talking and laughing at the bridge, it was reported that a cavern collapsed in the desert. No bodies were found and no one was hurt, but there were signs of a battle.
Jay laughed nervously. "Yeah, I guess Zoe and I's plan kinda backfired."
Zoe looked at him. "No, really?" Her voice was dripping with sarcasm.
Jay turned a little red in the face.
Suddenly, Lloyd's pale blue eyes widened in realization. Xander was unconscious long before the battle was over. It was quite possible that he regained consciousness and escaped before the cavern collapsed. Xander could be loose in Ninjago.
Lloyd shook his head to clear his thoughts. It's Christmas. Think positive.
The channel was changed from the news to another channel full of Christmas specials, and soon the ship was roaring with laughter and smiles once more. As the sun slowly disappeared from view, the temperature dropped significantly, but no one really noticed.
At the dinner table laid a large feast cooked by Zane, with a little help from Nya, along with Lloyd and Zoe with desserts. Christmas tunes played softly and the adults quietly hummed to the music. While everyone was digging into the food, Cole stood up with his drink. "How about a toast?"
Sensei Wu nodded at his pupil from his seat at the head of the table. "A good idea Cole. Please begin."
The earth ninja nodded. "To Venom's death, who knows where that psychopath ended up, but let's just be glad he's out of our way."
"Here here!" chorused the rest.
"To Lloyd, who was a total badass throughout this adventure, taking the final shot, and all in all, being tougher than anyone of us could ever be."
"Here here!" Lloyd was blushing profusely as his father smiled proudly at him.
"To my sister Zoe, for coming up with the idea that brought Venom's demise, her recklessness actually saving our asses quite a few times, and for being the queen of insults."
"Here here!" Zoe grinned ear to ear, her hazel eyes glowing.
"To Kazuki, for bringing Lloyd back to us and helping us on the battlefield. If it weren't for him, well, let's face it. We'd still be in that cavern fighting Venom."
"Here here!" Kazuki nodded and smiled warmly at the black clad ninja.
"To Garmadon, for helping us out along the way and giving a word or two of advice."
"Here here!" The dark lord looked surprised he was acknowledged, but took it in stride. After all, his son was beaming at him, so he must've done something right. He couldn't help but smile just a little.
"Even though he's not here, to Pythor, for doing the right thing in the end, despite all the wrongs he had committed."
"Here here!"
Cole paused and thought for a moment. "I think that's it."
Everyone laughed and clinked glasses.
It was pitch black outside. The green ninja was staring out at the ocean, rubbing his arms to keep the cold away. Stars flickered brightly above his blonde head.
"Hey Twinkle Toes."
Lloyd turned as Zoe walked out and stood next to him. "Mind if I join you?"
He shook his head. "Déjà vu huh?"
Zoe blinked, confused, before realizing what he meant. "Oh, yeah, before your first mission with the others?"
"Yeah."
The pair stayed there in silence, watching the stars slowly move away as the Bounty sailed forward in the darkness.
Zoe sighed, realizing once again she was going to take matters in her own hands. She slid closer to Lloyd and took his hand in hers. Even in the low lighting she could see him blush. Lloyd shifted his feet, unsure what he should do.
Zoe's voice broke through his thoughts. "If you dare do that yawning and stretching your arm over my shoulder thing, I will break your wrist."
If possible, Lloyd's cheeks turned even redder. "Wasn't planning to," he mumbled.
The blonde shivered in the cold, as well as Zoe. They walked back into the doorway, still hand in hand, and leaned against the doorframe.
The brunette looked up to the top of the doorframe and smile mischievously. "Hey green bean. Look up."
He obeyed, and groaned inwardly. Hanging delicately above them was a sprig of mistletoe.
The sister of earth moved closer, holding his other hand. "Well, go ahead; I'm not standing here all night."
Lloyd bit his lip, but nodded. He locked eyes with Zoe, working up the courage. After a few moments, he leaned in and kissed her.
The ninja suddenly felt hot in his gi as a gust of wind blew through their hair. Her hair still smelled like lemons. A weird feeling of pleasure and discomfort flooded him. The pair stayed this way for a few more seconds before separating.
"Merry Christmas Twinkle Toes."
Lloyd grinned. "Merry Christmas."
As they walked back into the Bounty, Kazuki smiled and shook his head at the youngsters, turned away from the window, and headed back inside.
A.N: The end! Okay, here are the questions. Please answer them honestly, even if you think it'll hurt my feelings.
-What kept you guys reading this story? (in other words, what were my strengths?)
- What are things I still need to work on?
- Was anyone a Mary Sue or Gary Stu?
- Any canon characters out of character? (I felt like Garmy was in the beginning, but that was before I read more fanfics about him and learned how to portray him accurately.)
- Lastly, should there be a sequel? (I gave a hint about it earlier before Cole toasted, but should there be one?)
That's it. Before I go, I thank you guys again for sticking with me and reading this story. And, have a great day/night!
Frosti, signing off! ;)
