(A/N) Did you miss me? (Sorry. Too soon.) Okay, first of all, sorry about the wait. It has been on my list of things to-do since the 1st of January. But I have been too busy:/. But now, it is finally up! Okay, thank you to anyone who has favourited/followed/reviewed or even read this story! Hope you enjoy:)
Chapter 3
Phineas was silent as we walked out of the hall. If you knew Phineas as well as I did, you would know that this wasn't a good sign. Usually he would talk your ear off, usually about his big ideas. But he hadn't said another word after his big... ahem... 'Outburst' let's call it.
"Phineas and I are just popping to the loo for a minute. You go on ahead." I shouted to the others as I grabbed hold of Phineas' arm and dragged him into the bathroom.
"Jeez, I swear it's only girls that can't go into the toilets alone." I heard Buford shout after us, followed by what sounded like a slap.
"Ouc... I mean, what was that for Izzy?!" Their voices trailed away after that.
"What's wrong?" I turned to Phineas after checking all of the cubicles for anyone still lurking in them from the lunch break.
He shrugged in response started to go towards the door, until I grabbed him and pulled him back.
"No, you are not allowed to be the quiet one, Phineas. That is my job!"
"I don't know what happened, Ferb. It was weird. Something... I don't know. It was like all the anger flooded over me! I've never... I didn't mean..." He sighed and put his head in his hands. "I don't know what it was about him, but he just made me..."
"Crack, dinner bell?" Buford was leaning against the wall next to us. Phineas and I looked up, startled.
"How did you get in here?" I didn't even see them enter.
"I used the door, you know, the way everyone gets in." He pointed to the doorway, where I spotted a nervous Isabella waiting close by.
"Buford, this is the boys' toilet. Why did you drag me in?!" She squeaked.
Just then the door opened and someone walked in, cleaning his glasses. He looked up and smiled when he saw Phineas.
"Hi, Phineas!" He ran up to him and hugged him. "It's been so long since I've seen you!" He squealed in excitement.
Irving. I almost didn't recognise him. Head of that annoying fan club he dedicated to us. I seriously hope he doesn't take another lock of my hair. I say a lock, when actually it was defiantly a large clump. It took me ages to hide that bald spot he gave me. I rubbed the part of my head it had come from. It was still shorter than all the other pieces of hair, but at least it blended into it now.
"H...hi... Irving. Cou...could you loosen up a b...bit." Phineas gasped as Irving loosened his grip around him.
"Wow, it's great to see all of us together again. The great six together again!" He fan-boyed for about five minutes until he realised Isabella was stood next to him. "What are you doing in here?! This is the boys' room!" He covered his eyes as if Isabella were naked. Buford was already on the floor laughing and I was trying to hide my laugh behind one of my hands. Even Phineas had a smile on his face.
"Urgh, I'm not naked Irving. You can bloody look!" Isabella groaned.
Irving wasn't satisfied with that though. He uncovered his eyes and then after staring at Isabella for another five minutes, he ran out of the bathroom screaming. That did it for me. I collapsed and joined Buford on the floor, in a fit of laughter
"Bloody, huh? Looks like you've been spending too much time with Ferb, Bella!" Phineas clung onto the sink so he didn't join us on the floor. Isabella sighed and walked out of the bathroom.
"You seem better, Phineas." I pulled myself up onto my feet and walked over to Phineas, who smiled.
"Yeah, I feel better. Thanks to Irving, I guess." He chuckled then turned to Buford "And I don't crack. Seriously, where did you come up with that?!"
"Oh, looks like you're about to do it again!"
Phineas groaned and walked out of the toilets only to storm back in a few moments later.
"Let me guess, you are going to give me a lecture about 'how you never crack and it is wrong to throw accusations around and blah blah blah'" Buford imitated Phineas. I have to admit, he really does do a good Phineas impression. It's actually kind of scary at how he can imitate everyone in our group really.
"No, look out there." He pointed to the door.
Buford and I walked towards it, and opened the door slightly. We peaked out of the crack and saw the reason Phineas had rushed back in here. Jack was leaning against a locker and talking to Isabella.
"Jealousy is not becoming on you, Phin." I turned to him and smiled.
"What?! I'm not jealous! You know why I don't want to see him, Ferb!" He blushed and started to get flustered. I put a hand on his shoulder and rolled my eyes.
"I know. I'm just teasing."
The bell went, signalling fourth period had begun.
"Oh, no! We missed registration!" I muttered. Our teacher would have our heads. Well, Buford's mostly, but she would have a good hack at me, with a little, 'oh, don't do it again' for Phineas.
Why did he have to be everyone's favourite. Even when we were young, Phineas was favoured over me with everything. Like when we accidentally became a super hero. He got all the credit for being the beak, when I was the one who saved all those people from a billboard. I didn't even get a thank you. I guess that was the reason we started to grow apart. My jealousy and ego got in the way. He is my brother, and we still tell each other everything, but none of our group is as close as they used to be. Not even Isabella seems to be as close with Phineas now. We all have seemed to split off into two little groups. We sit together, but we don't really have joint conversations. Baljeet and Phineas talk their 'nerd talk' as Buford calls it, and me, Buford and Isabella just talk about... well whatever I guess. I feel sorry for Isabella sometimes. The fireside girls gave up on her because they thought she spent too much time over Phineas. So they left her, and that led her to believe that she should give up on Phineas. Strange as it sounds, he seemed to take more interest in her after she tried to give up on her crush. It's a bit cliché really.
"Um, guys. Are you done in there? We need to get to lesson." Isabella knocked on the door, and we all grabbed our bags and headed out of the door, ready for another two hours of torture.
"How was math?" Buford ran after us after last lesson. He had skipped class and gone off with his fellow bullies. He had tried to rope Isabella and I into it, but we of course denied. I don't even know why he hangs out with half of them; he hates most of them anyway.
"The usual." Phineas muttered, obviously thinking about something else.
Isabella strolled behind, not paying attention to where she was going and crashed into Buford.
"Oh. Sorry." She mumbled, and kept walking on, in a daze.
What had happened to those two? Had they finally told each other how they felt?
As we sat on the bus, I gave Phineas my 'I-know-something's-wrong' glare, and he just shrugged.
"It's nothing, bro. Me and Isabella just..." He looked around for a minute before handing me an envelope. I studied it and began to open it, until Phineas stopped me.
"Don't... Don't read it yet." He whispered.
I looked at him, confused. I turned over the envelope and saw my name written on the front in handwriting that I didn't recognise. It definitely wasn't Phineas' handwriting. He was intelligent, and a brilliant inventor. But he definitely needed to work on his penmanship, as our English teacher is constantly reminding him.
"Phineas, what is going on?" I put my hand reassuringly on his shoulder, hoping that he would confide in me.
"I wish I knew." He replied bluntly, and then got up, and sat next to Isabella, at the front of the bus.
Next chapter coming soon I hope:) Not as long as the last wait anyway. Well, hope you all have a great week (or however long it is till the next update) and until then, see you later!:)
