(A/N) Wow, two stories in one day? I'm on a role! Well, I hope you enjoy this chapter! (Sorry about the wait!)
Chapter 5
"Phineas, come on! What is this about?!" I demanded in frustration. It wasn't often that Phineas bothered me, but throughout the whole day, he had not been himself. I banged on his door again. Heck, if he wasn't going to unlock it, I would knock it down.
"Please, Ferb. Just go away!" I heard a mumbled voice coming from the other side of the door.
I sighed and slid down onto the floor. "Just tell me what's going on. We don't keep secrets, we're brothers!"
Silence.
Brilliant. The great Phineas Flynn, known for his ability to talk for hours, completely silent. It was like he had a complete personality transplant. Realising I wasn't going to get anywhere right now with him, I decided to look at the letter.
'Ferb Fletcher. The Tri-State Area. Planet: Earth.'
Wait, why was it specifying planet? Had those two set up some kind of prank? Was that all it was?
It couldn't be. This looked nothing like Phineas' hand writing. It was too neat, and as a left-hander, his penmanship wasn't the best. Nor was it Isabella's writing. And there was no way she could do that. I decided to delve further into this strange envelope...
Little did Ferb know, the other three had the same idea. The whole concept both frightened and excited the young girl who had also come straight home and locked herself into her room. For some strange reason, which she wouldn't know until she opened the letter, her package felt heavier than the rest, which intrigued her even more.
'Eve said that everything would be explained in due course' Isabella recited in her head. With a deep breath, she broke the seal and read the contents, in unison to the other three males...
'Dear Buford.
Your humble assistance is required. I am afraid to inform you that your world, along with mine, is in grave danger. Four are only selected for a job so big, and these four have amazing talents. Do not panic, these talents will be revealed when you arrive and you will receive training.'
The footballer looked up from the text before him.
'I swear, if Dinner Bell is trying to pull something, I'm gonna pound him!'
The red head continued to read through the letter. Fear struck through him.
"Grave danger?!" he repeated. His face drained of colour and his heart rate increased. "What could possibly be dangerous in Danville?!"
Regardless of his fear, his childish curiosity got the better of him.
'Please take heed in this letter. You will have the choice of whether or not to attend. One of you holds the key to our dimension, and that person alone bears the choice. However, know that if you ignore this letter, you are leaving your world at serious risk and you are more than likely leading your world to self destruction.'
'One person?' He thought. 'How can you have one person to make such a big tasks. Heck, I couldn't even choose which top to wear today, and they are all the same!'
The green-haired Brit continued to read the letter.
'I do not want to concern you too much, and I cannot explain everything in this letter. Once the key bearer has decided-and if the decision is to come- then further details will be explained, and your true abilities will be shown to you.
Farewell for now.'
He turned around and continued to knock frantically on his brother's door.
"Phineas! Let me in... NOW!" It wasn't often he shouted at his little brother, in fact it wasn't often he spoke at all, but Ferb saw this as a matter of urgency. Slowly, the door opened and the British teen sat down at the edge of his bed.
"The bearer of the key? Who is that?" Ferb asked me. I had no idea, so I simply shrugged. He gave me his 'Phineas, I know that you aren't telling me something' look, and I sighed.
"No, Ferb. I really don't know! Eve didn't tell us mu..."
"Wait, Eve? The new girl? What does she have to do with all this?" He interrupted me.
"I don't know. She gave us the letters, but just told us not to open them until we got home, away from everyone else. Ferb, at this point, I know as much as you!"
We needed to find out who the key bearer was. Then maybe we could get more answers. But it wasn't me and it wasn't Ferb. So that left...
"Oi, Dinner bell. What's all this about?! You won't answer your stupid phone, so I had to call bean-pole to get your attention. What are you and girly up to? Are you trying to prank us? 'Cus if you are, Imma pound you so hard..."
"Buford, listen to me! I have nothing to do with this. Why would I send myself a letter that has terrified me?!" There was a pause on the other end of the phone.
"So, who's this stupid key-bearer thingy then? I'm guessing it's one of you two."
"Wait, you don't have a key?"
"There was nothin' in that letter or it's envelope that looked like a key, what about you?"
Ferb and I fumbled around in our envelopes to see if we could find anything, but there was nothing there. That meant that...
I finished reading the letter and I threw the envelope to one side. 'How did we know we could trust this girl? She was probably pranking us.'
I probably would have believed my mind, if I hadn't heard a loud 'thud' come from the envelope once I had dropped it. Hesitantly, I peaked inside the envelope and saw...
"A clam?!" It looked like a clam anyway. I took it out and examined it. It sure was beautiful. It was a golden colour and there was a purple ribbon draping from it. I opened it up and saw the most beautiful pearl you would have ever seen.
"Wow!" I whispered, as that was the only intelligent thing I could say at that moment. 'It was like the time I first laid my eyes on Phineas... NO!' I had to stop my mind wandering over to Phineas-land. I was over him! Wasn't I?
As I was getting lost in my thoughts, something caught my eye which snapped me back to reality. There was some engraving on the shell of the clam.
'The Key to Aliquid'
Oh my gosh! I am the key bearer!
I hope you didn't get lost in all the points of view. There may be a few more chapters where the point of view changes, or the narrator comes in. Just keep in mind, a line indicates a change in view. Sometimes even a change in tense. But it should become clear who is speaking. Hope you enjoyed:) (Also, do you like my Latin:P Let's play a game called spot the Latin, I'll throw in a Latin word every chapter, and the first to find it wins... A better Latin understanding I guess...)
