Hey everyone! Once again, thank you so much for your continued support. We have a couple suggestions, so I'll be listing them out here. As always, a shoutout to our last reviewer, MyWriterBlock, first person to review twice.
1. Howlers. You'll start to see those, including one in this chapter.
2. Children being super powerful. You'll see a few new things, but not too much.
3. Ship ideas. Any ship ideas that come in will be reviewed, and most of them will be done. So Drarry and Pansmonie ships are completely okay, and you'll see when they come in.
4. No soulmates other than the kids. Voldemort, Snape, none of those are allowed.
5. The second task will be somewhat like a how to take care of kids thing.
I don't own Harry Potter, and so on, and so forth. Please read and review. Thanks!
I looked across the table at the 4 champions. Fleur was the first to talk. "Miss Mallow, we'd like to talk to you."
"I assumed that." I said, letting a hint to a smile creep onto my face.
"It's about MSP. And the Triwizard Tournament." Fleur finished, annoyed.
MSP was the widely accepter name, because saying MSP 20 or so times a day was so much easier than saying magical soulmate pregnancy the same amount of times.
"You said that champions are more likely to have MSP." Victor Krum continued from where Fleur had left off.
"We wanted to know if the tasks would be changed." Cedric added, Harry, who stood to the side, nodded. He was one of the people who's pregnancy had already been confirmed. None of the other champions were pregnant, to my knowledge. Actually, the only students who were pregnant were from Hogwarts, or at least, the ones we knew of.
"The judges are working on that issue. Most say the tasks do, in fact, need to be changed. However, the final task will remain the same. The second task has already been changed, and they're working on the first. It will have the same theme, but not the exact same challenge. That's all I can say, because that's all I know, at this point. Is there anything else I could help you with?"
I was so absolutely tired. I didn't want to deal with that right now. I had kids asking me questions all the time. And that was before the official chaos started. Anyone pregnant were always tired. Extremely tired. Cramps and aches were chronic problems. Emotions ran on an all time high. I was losing my patience and my sanity would be next.
Potions class. The literal worst time of the day. Those were the main thoughts of Ron Weasley as the Gryffindors and Slytherins filed into the classroom. Only Ron, Professor Snape, and a few Slytherins would be acting with their regular emotions. "Antidotes." Snape said.
Ron pulled out the ingredients to brew his antidote, but that wouldn't really be his job. Neville seemed even more tense than normal, and he shook, especially his hands, every time he made eye contact with anyone. Dean and Seamus had gotten into an argument this morning, over what, Ron wasn't sure, but they kept glaring at each other. Hermione looked like she just wanted to fall asleep and be done with it. Patarvi Patel had morning sickness so bad, she couldn't come to potions. Lavender seemed fine, for the moment. It was about 20 minutes into class when Snape called for silence.
"We will be stopping here and not working on antidotes for today. Extinguish the fires under your cauldrons, please." That's when Ron noticed something was wrong. Something was burning.
"Professor! Lavender's hair! It's on fire!" Sure enough, Lavender had fallen asleep at her desk, and her hair was just to the point where it could catch on fire. And catch on fire it did.
Ron ran over, and pulled Lavender away from the other cauldrons. Harry lifted his hand to do a spell. "Akwa-, no wait, aqua-, it's agwa-" Harry yawned, and laid his head on his desk. Luckily, he had already put out the fire under his cauldron. Lavender shifted, and Ron set her on the floor, and began to stamp on her hair, trying to extinguish the sparks. Daphne from across the room hurried, even with the extra weight of her smallish pregnant stomach, over to grab a bucket of water. By the time she got back, there was pretty much no fire. Ron grabbed the bucket, and poured it on Lavender, just to be safe.
Snape extinguished the last of the fires, made sure none of the potions would explode, and then came over. "Class dismissed." He whipped his cloak back around him, and stomped off to his office.
"Lavender. You okay?" Ron asked once they'd left the classroom.
"Yeah." Lavender said, touching her hair gently.
Harry was still asleep, so Ron and Seamus helped him stumble towards Gryffindor tower. Lavender headed up with the boys. Hermione went towards the library, Neville towards the greenhouses, and Dean towards his homework, leaving a group of absolutely bewildered Slytherins behind. Finally Pansy shrugged, and led the group back to the Slytherin common rooms. Later, the whole school would laugh about this incident. It turns out magical journals would spread gossip fast as well as regular news.
Sometimes I felt like taking this job on was a bad idea. I'd made no improvements on getting through the enchantments that caused the pregnancy. There were so many things I didn't think through. My mini de-stressing rooms were in constant use, usually with a waiting least 3 kids went to the hospital wing every day for different reasons. It was becoming too much, and I hadn't even gotten started on the howlers. If I thought those were bad, students parents would come visit on the Triwizard Task days, and the Yule ball. It could only get worse, at this point.
I'd opened my most recent howler, and was paying very little attention to it, as I did paperwork, and decoded enchantments, or attempted to, while the writer of the letter grew more and more resemblant to a banshee. "Letting my kids get pregnant…you're all irresponsible…they aren't ready…explaining this to my husband…your letter."
Then, like always, there was a knock on my door. "Come in!" I hollered. It was Ginny.
"Hello Miss Mallow. I would tell you that you have a Howler, but I think you might already know." She said, gesturing to the owl that had just come in the window.
"I've been getting them all day." I said, picking up the next one, and laying it on my desk. At this point, I'd just let it open itself.
"You've received one from my mum."
"What makes you so sure?"
"It's her who's screaming right now."
"Alright, that's good to know. The howlers I've been getting are very impressive. I don't think I've heard her draw breath yet." I remarked. "So, why are you here to see me?"
