INT. MEETING ROOM - MARLOWE-1

The Doctor waits at a table inside a locked meeting/conference room. He taps the table.

DOCTOR
I want my pig. I want my pig. I want my pig.

The door opens. Before he even looks up...

DOCTOR
I want my pig!

Tarin freezes in the doorway, caught off guard by the Doctor's outburst. Desmond and Hoffa nearly bump into him in the process.

TARIN
The pig's fine. We gave him to Carolyn. She's feeding him carrots or something.

Tarin, Desmond, and Hoffa enter; Hoffa mostly for muscle support. Tarin and Desmond sit at the table opposite the Doctor, while Hoffa stands in the corner and looks intimidating.

DOCTOR
Really, this is all just a misunderstanding.

TARIN
We take death threats very seriously around here, Mr. Montoya.

DOCTOR
You're so literal. Don't any of you watch movies?

DESMOND
I, actually, love movies.

DOCTOR
And you don't know who Inigo Montoya is?

DESMOND
Was he a director?

The Doctor blinks, dumbfounded by Desmond's question.

DOCTOR
You and your face are not allowed to talk to me anymore.

Desmond looks downtrodden.

TARIN
Let's start with the obvious. If your name isn't Inigo Montoya, who the hell are you and how did you get here?

DOCTOR
I am the Doctor and I took a cab.

TARIN
You took a cab to the 66th parallel?

DOCTOR
Cost me thirty-seven thousand dollars, although I gave a very generous tip. Piggy had a accident on the ride up. He gets car sick.

HOFFA
The pig gets car sick?

DOCTOR
That's right.

HOFFA
The green pig?

DOCTOR
He's Scandinavian.

TARIN
Let's table the pig for a minute. You know what I find to be very strange?

DOCTOR
No, but I'm excited to find out.

TARIN
I find it very strange that you just happen to appear out of nowhere the very moment fourteen of our drills suffer major mechanical malfunctions. I also find it very strange that we found you right by one of the damaged drills.

DOCTOR
A truly vexing coincidence, I'd say.

TARIN
I don't believe in coincidences.

DOCTOR
(amused)
You'd be surprised.

Tarin explodes out of his chair, runs around the table, and grabs the Doctor by the neck. He then yanks the Doctor up to his feet and pushes him back to the wall, where he gets in the Doctor's face.

TARIN
Who sent you?! Was it Greenpeace?! What did you do to my drills, you eco-terrorist bastard?!

Desmond and Hoffa pull on Tarin to get him off the Doctor.

DESMOND
Tarin, let him go!

DOCTOR
I didn't sabotage your drills.

TARIN
You're lying!

HOFFA
Come on, mate. It ain't you.

Hoffa pries Tarin away from the Doctor and holds him until Tarin's calmed down.

TARIN
We're going to find out who you are. We've already sent a photo of you and your fingerprints to the military. If you got a library card in Katonah when you were in high school, they're going to find you, and then we'll know everything there is to know about you. They're going to check your face against every database in existence; NSA, CIA, MIB, FBI...

The Doctor chokes a bit before catching his breath.

DOCTOR
Tell them to check with the FBI first, if they want to save time.

Hoffa releases Tarin and the three men stare at the Doctor with increased interest.

TARIN
What?

The Doctor straightens his clothes then walks around the men. He sits back down in his chair.

DOCTOR
The FBI. You've got to admire an organization whose acronym is an anagram for a word that means "to lie". It's like, "we're going to lie to your face and don't really care if you know it". You want to know who I am? Ask them, and when it all hits the fan, I suggest you duck and cover. There's a storm coming the likes of which none of you have ever seen, and I'm the only one who can save you from being sucked out with the tide and dragged to the bottom of the sea.

They stare at him in stunned silence.

TARIN
A storm?

The Doctor nods.

TARIN
What kind of storm? What's coming, Doctor?

The Doctor's expression turns grim.

INT. TARDIS

Rose enters carrying a broken leg from her desk as a club. Sweat beads on her forehead glisten in the light emitted by the power core. She steps forward on her tiptoes and sticks close to the walls, looking this way and that for the Doctor she now believes to be an impostor.

She accidentally knocks into a pile of tools lying haphazardly along the ground. A "clank" rings out and she freezes. When no one comes, she heads for the door leading into...

INT. TARDIS - THE DOCTOR'S ROOM

The Doctor's room is a bit smaller than Rose's, or perhaps it just looks that way. The entire living quarters is made up of four levels. The top level is plush padded with lots of pillows, presumably the sleep area. A laboratory table stands on the bottom level, with the next level up serving as a kind of storage area for potions and technology to service the lab table. Various trinkets and keepsakes decorate the third level including, but not limited to, a musket, a lightsaber, a vortex manipulator, a question mark umbrella, a Sontaran communicator, a Dalek eye stalk, and framed photographs.

Rose sneaks in hiding the leg to her desk behind her back.

ROSE
Doctor - or whoever the hell you are - are you in here? Possibly asleep? Please be asleep. Of course, if you are asleep, you probably just woke up when I called you. I should stop talking. Doctor?

She climbs to the second level to search for the Doctor, but doesn't see him overhead. This brings her to eye level with the third level keepsakes. The first one that catches her eye is a red and orange flame painting of the Doctor riding a charizard. She has only a few moments to mull over the thought of the Doctor riding a real-life Pokemon before a nearby photo catches her eye.

Rose reaches out and grabs a framed picture of herself and the Doctor in front of the The London Eye ferris wheel. They're both smiling and look quite happy... in the picture. The Rose holding the picture looks confused and panic-stricken.

ROSE
We've never been to London.

A noise from outside the room startles Rose. She drops the framed picture and it falls to the bottom level. She raises the desk leg up, ready to strike.

ROSE
Doctor?

She walks back over to the door.

On the ground, the glass over the picture is cracked.

INT. TARDIS

Rose pokes her head out and looks around. When she doesn't see anyone, she comes out, still walking on tiptoes. Her hands are wrapped so tightly around the desk leg in her hands that her knuckles are white.

ROSE
Doctor, where are you?

She hides the desk leg behind her back and walks over to a communication station. She speaks into the microphone and her voice projects all over the Tardis.

ROSE
Doctor, could you come to the control room for a minute? I need to ask you something.

She waits.

ROSE
Doctor?

She waits. Only quiet. She walks over to...

INT. CHANGING CLOSET VORTEX - TARDIS

Rose enters to find Doctor Two still unconscious on the ground next to the frame. She looks at him, confused.

ROSE
Doctor?

She approaches... kicks his feet with her toe.

ROSE
Taking a little nap on the floor, are we? Now, just stay there and-

From behind, Theelia the Brygosan appears and knocks Rose over the head with the same helmet she used to fell Doctor Two.

Rose falls to the ground, unconscious.

INT. TARDIS

Rose wakes up in the command center, seated on the ground, her hands tied behind her back and to a railing. Next to her is Doctor Two, not yet awake, his hands also tied behind him and to the railing.

At the command console, Theelia tries everything she can to make sense of the Tardis' systems. Judging by the way she kicks it again and again, she appears to be a slow study.

DOCTOR TWO
Ho, hey, HOOO!

Doctor Two's eyes open and he looks up, annoyed.

DOCTOR TWO
She's not going to want to help you if you kick her there. Someone kicked you there, you wouldn't be terribly inclined to help that person, either.

Theelia looks over at him, aghast. She makes an expression like she just ate something sour.

THEELIA
I understand you.

DOCTOR TWO
I find that hard to believe.

THEELIA
And you understand me! Oh, how horrible.

Doctor Two looks over at Rose.

DOCTOR TWO
Are you all right?

Nervous, Rose nods.

ROSE
Yes.

Theelia walks over and grabs the desk leg from atop a shelf. She uses it to bash Doctor Two in the side of the head. Rose yelps.

ROSE
Oh!

Doctor Two slumps over, unconscious for a second time.

THEELIA
I can't. I just can't.

Theelia drops the desk leg and walks back over to the command console.

THEELIA
I can't bare the thought of listening to that man's... words.

She looks back at Rose.

THEELIA
You. You look like a Time Lord, but you aren't one of them, are you?

ROSE
No.

THEELIA
I remember you from the Cybermen ship. You set me free. To think of someone other than yourself is not a typical characteristic of a Time Lord.

ROSE
You're welcome?

THEELIA
What were you doing on that ship? Did they attack you?

ROSE
No. We attacked them.

Theelia laughs.

ROSE
I'm serious.

THEELIA
There are only two of you.

ROSE
They had a bomb they were going to use against Earth.

THEELIA
Is that a space station?

ROSE
It's a planet. My planet. We were there to steal the weapon before they could use it.

THEELIA
Ah. The Time Lord wanted the weapon for himself.

ROSE
It's not like that.

Rose looks at Doctor Two next to her, suddenly unsure.

ROSE
At least, I don't think it's like that. Things are a little confusing right now.

THEELIA
Do you know how to operate this vessel?

ROSE
No.

THEELIA
Would you tell me if you did?

ROSE
Why do you want to know?

THEELIA
I want to take this ship back to a point in time when my people were at the height of their power, hand over the technology to our ruler, and use it to both eradicate the Time Lord race and conquer the universe.

ROSE
Oh. Then, no, I wouldn't tell you.

DOCTOR TWO
It wouldn't work, anway.

THEELIA
Oh! Ew! There's that sound again.

Theelia runs over and grabs the desk leg. Doctor Two does his best to cover up as she approaches to attack him.

DOCTOR TWO
You can't travel back during the war because it's time locked!

Theelia tries to reach over him and hit him with the desk leg.

ROSE
Will you stop hitting him?

THEELIA
I can't listen. I won't listen. A Time Lord's words are like poison.

Rose kicks the desk leg out of Theelia's hands and it falls into Doctor's Two's lap. He cups his body around it and holds it out of Theelia's reach.

DOCTOR TWO
If you'll just listen to me for two seconds, I'll-

Theelia puts her hands over her "ears" and raises her voice.

THEELIA
Ah! Ah! Ah! I can't hear you! I won't hear you! I won't listen! No, I won't! Never! Never! Never!

DOCTOR TWO
This is intolerable. Rose, when she stops, I need you to tell her that we can't travel back to the war, because it's time locked, but I might be able to help her save some of her people, presuming she let's us go.

THEELIA
Ah! Ah! Ah! No! No! No!

ROSE
Hey! HEEEEEY!

Rose tries to get Theelia's attention. When Theelia finally turns around, Rose motions to Doctor Two, who clamps his lips shut.

ROSE
See, he's not talking. He's shutting up. No more talking.

Theelia stops yelling and pulls her hands down from around her "ears".

ROSE
Wow, if I knew that was all it takes to shut him up, I would've done that a long time ago. Listen, we can't travel back in time to the war because it's time locked.

THEELIA
What is "time locked"? It sounds made up.

Doctor Two starts to open his mouth to explain, which prompts Theelia to go for her ears. He shuts his mouth quickly, and instead whispers into Rose's ear.

DOCTOR TWO
(whisper)
Tell her...

Rose listens and repeats.

ROSE
There are only two points in time that are impossible to reach via time travel; the very beginning of time and the very end. That's because those two points along the timeline are rigid. They cannot be changed. But, a very long time ago, the Time Lords discovered a means by which you could anchor other points along the timeline to the beginning and end of time itself, thereby making that link also rigid. This would make it impossible to travel backwards or forwards in time to any point along that rigid section. It was a way to protect important moments in history, and also the Time Lords themselves, because nothing that exists in that time period could ever be wiped from history.

Theelia considers Rose's words and looks dejected.

ROSE
You can't go back and change the fate of your people, but you can fight for a better future. There's an art ship.

Theelia looks confused.

DOCTOR TWO
(whisper to Rose)
No, not an art ship, an ark ship.

ROSE
An ark ship, arK, with a "K". ArrrK. Hard "kuh" sound.

She turns to Doctor Two.

ROSE
Ok, I get it, you don't have to make me feel stupid. I thought you said "art". Freakin' sue me.

THEELIA
You know of the ark ships?

Doctor Two whispers more to Rose.

ROSE
He knows about one ark ship. On Earth. Earth?

She looks at him.

ROSE
Where on Earth?

DOCTOR TWO
In the arctic, under the ice.

Theelia covers her "ears" when she hears Doctor Two's voice.

THEELIA
Ah! Ah! Ah! Can't hear you! No! No! No!

Rose and Doctor Two ignore Theelia.

ROSE
You never told me anything about any ark ship on Earth.

DOCTOR TWO
Well, why do you think I hang around Earth so much? Why do you think so many interstellar species are drawn to your little drip of a world?

ROSE
Honestly?

She looks down at "herself".

He looks at her and rolls his eyes.

DOCTOR TWO
Don't flatter yourself.

THEELIA
Ah! Ah! La! La! La! I won't listen until he stops talking! La! Ah! La!

DOCTOR TWO
Tell her, I'll take her to the ark ship if she let's us go.

ROSE
She's not going to let us go.

DOCTOR TWO
Well, we have to give her something, or she's just going to kill us.

ROSE
Kill you, maybe. I'm not a Time Lord. You are.

DOCTOR TWO
A distinction she didn't seem too concerned with when she knocked you unconscious.

Doctor Two can't take it anymore. He screams once, then shuts his mouth. He sucks his lips all the way in to show Theelia that's he's truly and totally "clammed up". Theelia notices and stops screaming.

THEELIA
Remind me to gag him.

ROSE
We're all out of cheesesteak. Listen, he says he can take you to the ark ship, if you'll let us go.

Theelia walks over and grabs the desk leg back from Doctor Two. She wields it like a club.

THEELIA
I have an alternate proposal. You tell me where the ark ship is and I won't bash your brains in with this club.

Rose and Doctor Two share a glance. He shrugs.

ROSE
(to Theelia)
Deal. Let me up.

THEELIA
Fine, but don't you try anything.

Theelia steps around Rose and unties her hands. She stays behind Rose, ready to swing at the first sign of trouble.

Rose rubs her wrists and stands, wary of Theelia behind her. On her way to the command console, she makes sure to walk towards the protective panel that covers the energy inside of the core. In a swift move, before Theelia can react, Rose pulls on the handle and it opens, exposing the fire within.

A beam of gold energy lashes out and takes hold of Theelia. She screams in agony. Rose then shuts the panel and catches the desk leg as it falls out of Theelia's hands. Theelia looks at Rose, partly in shock.

THEELIA
What-was-?

ROSE
Good night, bitch.

Rose swings the leg around like a baseball bat and clocks Theelia over the head. The Brygosan goes down like a bag of stone.

Meanwhile, on the ground, Doctor Two looks up at Rose, his mouth open.

DOCTOR TWO
You opened the panel? You shouldn't be able to do that.

ROSE
Surprised?

DOCTOR TWO
Extremely.

Rose tilts her head to one side and shakes it.

ROSE
See, shouldn't have said that.

Rose walks towards him and prepares to take another swing.
