Amidst the chaos and destruction, the duo managed to battle their way through the demon clan members and eventually reach the entrance of the village. With every step, the demon clan members were pushed further back, with not a single sign of their overwhelming force remaining.
Finally, when the demon clan seemed to be on the verge of defeat, Gohan suggested a measure to finish off the last of their forces. It was with his idea that the duo would use a special jutsu to completely decimate the enemy forces, one that would take all of their courage and strength. Hopeless yet determined, Gohan expressed to Roshi he would need to sacrifice his life in order for this jutsu to be successfully executed.
Without a moment's hesitation, Gohan used the jutsu with all of his might, and the village was liberated. However, Gohan succumbed to the great power and force of the jutsu, and was killed in the process. A wonderful master and teacher, Gohan was remembered fondly by Roshi and the villagers. Roshi honored his sensei for his bravery, courage and sacrifice.
Gohan's death was the ultimate price to pay for the village's safety. With the demon clan gone, the villagers were now free to continue living without fear of oppression, and Roshi was forever grateful to Gohan for what he had sacrificed for their safety.
