Chapter Fifty-Two:

One Last Thing

SMG4, X, FM, and SMG3 arrived back at the grounds of Peach's Castle, finding the corrupted memes waiting for them. The group stared back at the memes, and the enemy stared back at them. Thankfully, SMG4 had his camera ready, it was time to make some spicy videos with some very spicy memes that would end the corruption.

"Okay, X, FM, let's do this!" SMG4 declared, "Meme machine activate!"

And the meme machine was... SMG4, X, and FM climbing on top of each other with SMG4 on top, holding his camera. He turned it on and smiled widely; "Hey, fans. Today, I'm gonna show you some spicy memes! CHAAAAARRRGE!"

The trio charged, as one of the monkey memes charged towards them with a screech. SMG4 held up his camera, making sure that the meme was in view, and then, a flash of light washed over the monkey and reverted it back to normal. The SMG4 meme machine ran around the castle grounds, avoiding attacks from memes, and making content with them.

One-by-one, each and every meme was recorded and purified of the corruption. Every Ugandan Knuckles, monkey and frog-related meme reverted back to their original state without trouble.

However, Toad got caught up in the insanity as a beam of light hit him, causing the walking fungus to turn into a very ugly human toad. SMG4, X, and FM acted quickly and used their meme machine powers to revert Toad back to normal. Sort of, he wound up having big legs in the process.

"Okay, SMG3! You're on!" SMG4 called, tossing SMG3 the phone.

All the memes looked at the king of the Internet Graveyard, who clicked the portal icon on his phone, summoning the portal to the Internet Graveyard without incident. "Okay, kids!" SMG3 called, "Let's go home!"

The memes all piled into the portal with a holler, and headed back to the realm they belonged in. SMG3 was about to leave, but he turned back to face SMG4 one more time.

"SMG4..." He said, "You're alright for a mortal enemy."

With that, he walked into the portal and returned to the Internet Graveyard, leaving SMG4 behind with a happy smile. He and the others spent some time cleaning up the grounds from the mess caused by the battle with the corrupted memes, soon, the area was spotless as if the calamity with the corrupted memes had never happened.

After everything that had taken place, it was time to wind down and for friends to part ways for now. X and FM waved farewell, wishing SMG4 good luck, and they headed off on their own while SMG4 called back; "See you soon!"

Ready to relax, the meme man turned to Mario and the others on the roof of Peach's Castle. "This 10-year anniversary took a weird turn, didn't it?" SMG4 remarked.

"Mama mia." Mario quipped, "I saw God. When I nearly had a Game Over."

"YeAh?" Bob stepped in, "But, WhY wAs He TrYiNg To ToUcH YoUr No-No SqUaRe?"

"And what does this have to do with destroying universes, bro?" Luigi inquired.

"And what's with all the USBs everywhere?" Tari asked.

"And are there other SMGs out there?" SMG4 questioned, "I can't believe there might be."

"There's so many mysteries to figure out." Axol remarked.

"If it means more action just like tonight, I wouldn't mind!" Saiko said excitedly.

"And we can solve it all together!" Boopkins quipped with enthusiasm.

SMG4 smiled, and turned to a nearby camera; "That goes for all of you! Thank you for ten years of SMG4!"

"Woomy, woomy!" Heavy Squid laughed.

Everyone all agreed that it was time for a long rest before they found themselves dealing with more misadventures or dangerous world-ending scenarios. After battling an evil virus bent on the destruction of the universe and using Mario to do it, the entire SMG4 gang could use a good night's rest and, perhaps, a little vacation.

As the Mario Bros headed home to get ready for bed, with Tari, Axol, Saiko, Boopkins, and the others doing the same, SMG4 looked towards the horizon with a smile. Despite all the drama, his ten-year anniversary had been fun to the end, the battle with Zero may as well cap it off.

However, SMG4's smile faltered once Zero came up, and questions began to fill his mind even more. 'SMGs, Avatars, Guardian Pods.'

It was time to find some answers, and there would be no rest until he'd gotten them. His mind burning with more questions, and many theories relating to everything that had happened, SMG4 headed inside Peach's Castle to gather his thoughts and sleep on them...

The End

In the cathedral, SMG3's Guardian Pod glowed, surrounded by the wreckage from the battle, untouched and immobile.

The screen on the USB showcased the green question mark, then it started to flicker, and a warning light began to flash. A danger sign cropped up, flashing bright red, and a message soon began to flash alongside the danger sign:

'WARNING! ANTI-VIRUS SUBSCRIPTION ABOUT TO EXPIRE SOON!'

Somewhere in a different world, inside the USB, a creature growled as it fought against the anti-virus field as it tore at it's being. An eyeball floated around, surveying its surroundings, and a conscience began planning its escape. No USB would hold it forever, soon, it would break out, and the avatar would be in his grasp once again.

Elsewhere, SMG1 and SMG2 stood atop a mountain, surveying the strange energy afloat in the air. SMG1 held out his hand, and SMG2 took it. A glow surrounded them, and then, the strange energy came their way.

"Meme energy..." SMG2 breathed.

"Not just meme energy..." SMG1 said, "The power to control it..."

However, it would be ages before anybody else saw what the two SMGs could do with such a great power...
