"So you were here?!" a female voice shouted that made them both jump.
Yuta was trying to catch his breath, his blood had gone to the ground because he thought they were going to attack him again, but when he saw who had arrived, his face began to recover its color and his heartbeat began to calm down.
Also, his beloved looked annoyed with the one who had arrived
"Mai!" Maki answered twisting her mouth and crossing her arms. "What the hell are you doing here? Awww! Don't tell me you cared about me and you came looking for me?" She said out sarcastically.
"Fuck! If I've been looking for you idiot, it's because dad already sent someone for us, we have to go!" Mai dragged those words when she saw the guy who was next to her sister
She stared at him
"Oh, where have I seen you before?" — Throne her fingers — "I know! You are the boy who was hidden behind the menu! The one who was with that bunch of scandalous" Mai released with a big mocking smile, while she placed her index finger on her cheek
"I..." Yuta couldn't speak
Mai burst out laughing—"Hahaha, don't tell me that because of this 'dirty'"— Mai pointed at Yuta while she was looking at her sister — "that's the reason why you ran out of the clothing store"— she looked at him, from his head at the feet, analyzing each part of he
Yuta was saddened by those words, since his face was still dirty and a bruise began to mark his cheek with a faint purple.
Also part of his clothes were still full of dust due to the blow that Maki had given him, so he just finished brushing off the dirt that he had in his pants and wiped his cheek once more with the sleeve of his shirt, cleaning the dirt in the process. A small trickle of blood that had come out of his lip
"Apparently your taste in men is lousy 'big sister'" Mai commented looking at her sister —"He looks like a drug addict!"—
Maki grumbled a little, a slight click came out of her mouth and after taking a breath, she answered him without further ado.
"It's not what you think, Mai!" She placed her hand on Yuta's shoulder. "It turns out that..." Maki look into Yuta's blue eyes and give him a nice smile.
"That he and I have just met in these parts... since this boy is lost and I was just giving him instructions on how he can get out of here" Maki lied as she did not stop smiling at him
"Huh?" It came out of Yuta's mouth, who was a little confused by that explanation and even more so when he felt her hand on his shoulder, it made him feel butterflies in his stomach.
She was very close to him, but the couldn't get carried away by his feelings at that moment.
"RIGHT? Yuta?" Maki moved her head and eyes a little so that he would go along with the flow
That black-haired man took that hint
"Oh! Yes yes of course... we just met hehe and she was just telling me how to get out of this labyrinth of old streets" he said scratching his head and a nervous giggle invaded him
Maki also smiled as she patted Yuta again.
Mai narrowed her eyes, she didn't believe that explanation.
"What's your last name?" Mai ask sharply.
"My my what?" Yuta stammered.
"Tks! In addition to being dirty, are you deaf?" Mai rolled her eyes.
"I asked you what is your last name!" — Mai raised her voice — "I had never seen you around these parts and we don't know if you are an ally or an enemy, so what is your last name?" — she asked again with a tone of voice that denoted annoyance
"Tsk! Do you really care to know that about him?" Maki questioned, crossing her arms.
"I care because 'A surname always defines the person' and you know it more than anyone else" Mai answered her sister
Yuta swallowed, he couldn't believe that those two could be twins.
Up close, they both had very identical features, but it was very remarkable that their character, apart from their hair, were the complete opposite, since they were very different and clashed with each other.
Yuta looked at his beloved for a moment, she with her simple look behind her glasses gave her too much peace and her smile gave his courage
Yuta didn't want to reveal her real last name, he didn't want to get in more trouble with those two if he talked too much, so he said the first last name that came to his mind.
"Okkotsu" he answered with too much confidence without taking his eyes off Maki.
"Uh?" Came out of Mai's mouth as she looked at those two
"My name is Yuta Okkotsu, a pleasure!" He leaning forward slightly.
"I've never heard that last name around these places" Mai answered, crossing her arms.
"It's because he's not from here, right?" Maki asked with a smile and placing a hand on her hip
"Oh yeah!" Yuta tried to sound convincing as he stood upright. "It's just... I just returned to Kyoto after spending a few years in Morocco," he smiled and put a hand to his cheek, scratching with nerves as he tried to sound convincing
Mai only twisted her mouth and again looked at him from head to toe.
"Whatever"—She look at him with hatred—"So it means that you're a nobody in this city since you don't have a remarkable last name... 'Boy Menu" that stupid nickname came out of her mouth, all those words seemed like a sharp dagger and poisonous
Yuta only sighed a little for that deal and his shoulders dropped from the grief
"Anyway, Idiot, it's time to go home, so let's go now" Mai ordered, looking at her sister.
"Did you forget who's the oldest? You don't give me orders and the idiot is someone else!" Maki replied to such an order and attitude from her sister. "Why don't you go home by yourself? I mean, I still don't want to go back to that residence for crazy people" she commented moving her hands.
Mai snorted loudly—"Because it was an order from our mother!"—she responded very annoyed—"She gave the condition that we both had to return at the same time or else, she would punish us and the truth is, I don't want to get in trouble because of you so move your stupid fat ass"
Maki rolled her eyes—"You two are the same... submissive and useless"
Mai grabbed her sister by the wrist "Let's go before they come for us and put us in trouble"
"Don't touch me!" Maki yelled, very annoyed, resisting her sister's tugs
Those two looked like two little girls fighting and pulling each other, instead, Yuta didn't know how to intervene in that discussion.
At that moment, both sisters thought they heard in the distance, the furious screams of a very peculiar voice, they both looked at each other for a moment and their "instinct" told them that it was time to get out of there.
"Let's go before we run into that idiot! It seems that he is not in a good mood" Mai commented pulling her sister, who managed to get out of her grip
"I agree, I don't want to put up with his screams, and let go of me damn it! I can walk alone!" Maki answered, rubbing her wrist and starting to follow her sister through an old alley, decorated with vines and flowers that came down those old walls
That seemed to be a secret passage, since Yuta barely noticed it because of how narrow it was.
It was a small alley where only one person could pass and that the large branches and flowers that adorned the wall hid it from view.
Yuta felt his heart stop hearing those words.
His mind screamed at him again, that girl who had revived his heart, the one who had made him fall in love, now he was about to leave again and the worst thing is that he still did not know her name
Both sisters began to walk one after the other through that alley, Mai was ahead, walking quickly and behind her Maki, who earlier had given Yuta a farewell smile.
"Bye... Yuta... It was a pleasure" the green-haired woman only said, entering that narrow corridor
But her heart wanted to jump out of her chest when she saw that he began to follow her again.
Yuta's legs, this time if they answered him in time, he wouldn't make the same mistake twice and that was not going after her
"Wait!"— Yuta entered that alley and reached her, brushing his fingers with her fingers to end up taking her hand—"You haven't told me your name yet... What's your name?"
Maki blushed too much at such audacity, she felt her cheeks burn and even felt her entire insides burn with emotion, but she had to be calm... she must be a "somewhat difficult" girl.
But it was useless, a big smile appeared on her lips for such words and her skin prickled at such a touch that she ended up taking her hand without turning to see him.
And there were those two... in that tiny path no more than two feet wide and two feet long, with too many flowers and branches covering their heads and giving an atmosphere of peace and a romance that was just blooming.
Maki took a deep breath and turned to look at his eyes without letting go of his hand.
"Do you really want to know my name? Wow, you are very daring "menu boy" or better I should tell you, Yuta Okkotsu" she answered with a smile
Yuta was too embarrassed by such words "It's just that I..."
He steeled himself once again —"I want to know, or Minimum tell me, will I see you again one day?"He asked sincerely
"I..." Maki was interrupted by the noise of what seemed to be shots and a great scandal in the distance.
They both looked at each other nervously upon hearing that uproar that seemed to be getting closer.
Yuta turned his head slightly to see if no one was coming and that's when Maki started walking backwards, sticking her hand to the wall, it seemed like she knew where she was going.
"There is only one way for me to tell you my name" Maki answered as she kept walking backwards and kept looking into his eyes. "Are you willing to do it for me? Are you willing to know my name?"
Yuta did not stay behind and took a few steps towards her, following her closely while she continued walking without seeing where she was going, since she was guided by her hand, which was touching the vines on the wall.
"I am! I'm willing to do what you tell me" Yuta answered with a smile.
They both couldn't stop looking into each other's eyes as they slowly chased each other, their hearts beating too fast, their blood rushing through their veins at such adrenaline.
For a moment, they both stopped and faced each other again, their breaths about to be cut off perhaps by a kiss, if either of them dared to give it.
Emotions were on the surface, they couldn't stop looking into the eyes
Maki felt that her heart would jump out of her chest and she didn't want her cheeks to be painted red again... she couldn't explain why she felt so attracted to him if she had only known him for a few minutes
But at the same time, she wanted to check if this boy had told the truth and if he was serious.
"Then will you tell me?" Yuta asked without stopping to see her eyes approaching his face to hers
For a moment, Maki could swear she felt the tip of his nose on her nose and his breath fall on her lips.
"Of course I'll tell you" Maki smiled and walked backwards again, moving her face away little by little
"My name begins with M for I'll see you tomorrow and continues with A from here to this time..." — answered the green-haired girl, reaching the end of that wall — "only then will I tell you my name"
"Tomorrow? I'll count the hours until sunset to see you again" Yuta answered taking a few steps towards her.
Again they were facing each other, but this time, Yuta went further, bringing his hand to Maki's cheek.
She was not putting up resistance and when Yuta was finally going to bring his lips to Maki's lips
They were abruptly interrupted
"Hurry up! I don't want "he" to see us here!" Shouted her sister, very furious of her coming back for her
Mai pulled Maki forcefully, making her take a step out of that alley and when she was about to turn to her sister
That green-haired girl took a step forward as she could and getting up on tiptoes, she got close enough to Yuta's face with a big smile, touching her lips very gently with his, it was as if a soft and very slight breeze had collided against her skin
Yuta could swear that, up close, that girl was the most beautiful in the universe and that he could consider it the best kiss he had just received.
His face was completely dyed red and hearing the following made him the happiest boy in the world at that moment.
"See you tomorrow, Yuta!" Maki said, saying goodbye with a big smile.
Then her face, just as it came, quickly receded as Mai yanked her away from him, taking her hand.
"Gross!" — Mai said wrinkling her nose when she saw her sister in fall love— "Let's go, but now!" — She took her sister out of that alley
"I'm coming!" Maki shout
"Don't be late and don't get lost!" Maki whispered, she looked at him one last time and waved her hand goodbye.
Yuta was about to catch up with her again, he really didn't want to let her go.
But when he came out of that alley full of flowers, both sisters began to run with all their might.
"God! What happened to that guy's face?" Mai asked running
"Long story! You just run, I think I already heard Naoya's idiot!" Maki said running with all her might
And so, both sisters got lost among those old streets of Kyoto
Yuta couldn't believe what had happened and what he had done
It had been a long time since he had felt so happy, he was so excited that he began to walk backwards the way he had come
He was euphoric, he felt a great energy going through every part of his being... he just felt alive
"Is this a date? I do not think it is! And if it is? God! She said that she will be here tomorrow at this time, right?" Yuta did not stop talking or stop walking backwards
"Oh my goodness! What have I done? Miguel is not going to believe this! Should I tell the others? Maybe not to avoid getting into trouble... What happiness I feel! She is so beautiful! Have I fallen in love? What is this I feel in my chest? She is beautiful! I feel like I love her!" He said so excited that he couldn't believe it
But he was so distracted that as soon as he reached the end of that alley, he turned around so excited that he didn't realize that someone else was behind him.
Yuta collided with a tall man, with long hair tied in a half ponytail that ended in a bun at the back and flashy bangs fell in front.
This subject was dressed as a priest, wearing a golden rakusu, under it he wore a dark-colored yukata and for shoes he wore white tabis accompanied by zõris
Yuta was so careless, that in that blow against him, he felt as if he had crashed into a wall, he even closed his eyes from the pain —Ouch!—
"So you're the one who was causing a ruckus around my sanctuary" said that man.
"I'm sorry!" Yuta shouted, still without opening his eyes and moving his hands to try to defend himself in case that person wanted to hit him.
That man let out a slight laugh—"Hahaha You don't have to apologize, I won't hurt you"
Yuta opened his eyes suddenly, but to his surprise, that man had bent down a little to see his face up close.
"Wow, you do have an ugly wound on your cheek" said that priest, carefully observing this boy's face
That man had a warm smile on his lips and a very peculiar glow came out of his violet eyes.
Everything happened so fast that Yuta felt confused by what was happening and what that man would say, would make his blood go to the ground with fear.
"Sanctuary? Is this a sanctuary?" Yuta seemed confused that he didn't know what to answer "Sorry if we bothered you…I…She!"
"You're a Gojo, right?" asked that man looking directly into his eyes and holding his hands
This one gave off such a strange vibe, but at the same time comforting.
"Eh? What?" Yuta's eyes widened and he freed his hands from that guy —"How...how does he know?" He asked in a low voice, he was completely nervous
He wanted to run away from there, but his legs did not ration him
He realized what he had answered because of his nerves, so he tried to correct it—"Of course not! I'm not a Gojo! My last name is Okkotsu!"
He had used his mother's last name in front of those twins to avoid getting into trouble, but it was surprising how that priest knew that information and more than Yuta had never seen it before.
"The blue of your eyes is very characteristic of your clan and you have some facial features very similar to those of Satoru" said that priest hiding his hands in his sleeves.
"Wh... How do you know my cousin?" Yuta questioned, very concerned. "Are you an enemy or an ally?" He felt his heart beating so desperately for fear again
At that moment, that priest looked towards one of the alleys that were linked to that place.
Those voices that seemed to be getting closer for a while now were heard getting closer and closer like heavy footsteps.
It seemed that that priest recognized the voice of the one who came that way.
"Come, follow me if you want to be safe!" He comment opening an old door that was somewhat hidden among the branches and vines
"Eh? Why should I follow you? And first of all, who are you? And secondly, why do you know my family?" asked Yuta scared
"You should follow me because if you stay here, your family's mortal enemy could kill you if he finds out who you are... besides, you're injured and at a visible disadvantage, so come quickly, you can trust me" the man commented, staring at him with a smile.
Yuta just swallowed saliva and looked at where that priest had looked moments before and, ultimately, several men who seemed to be armed were coming down that street.
Yuta did not think about it anymore and entered that sanctuary together with that mysterious man
It seemed that the words of both Maki and that priest were true.
Naoya was passing by outside that place, grumbling and swearing about what had happened to him in that other sanctuary where he had found Satoru and incidentally, where Utahime kept rejecting him.
Yuta took a slight breath while sitting on the ground, he had experienced too many emotions in that afternoon that had not yet ended
That priest discreetly looked through the thick branches, the passage of those Zenin outside their enclosure
"It's very rare for Naoya to pass by here... I guess Satoru made him angry" replied the priest, looking through the branches.
"Who is Naoya?" Yuta asked, still trying to catch his breath.
"A detestable subject, I recommend that you never cross his path because he is and will be for you, a mortal enemy" the priest replied as if that were a premonition
That group of people quickly moved away, their voices and footsteps were no longer heard in those streets.
"Thank you for 'Saving me' if you can call it that" — Yuta began to say still on the ground — "By the way... You still haven't answered my question... Are you an ally or an enemy?" — He stared at him — "What's your name?"
That slanted-eyed man just smiled
"My name is Suguru Geto..."— he began to walk into the sanctuary —" Come, I'll buy you a cup of tea while I answer all your questions and by the way, we heal your wounds... you can tell that girl hit you with everything" He comment with a friendly smile
Yuta felt confused, but something made him follow that man
Would that priest be an ally or an enemy? There was only one way to find out...
To be continue...
Notes:
I hope you liked it
I apologize if it took me too long to update this fic
I've been busy and by the way a little sick, but I'm doing much better now
As I said, Geto will also be in this story. Will he be an ally or an enemy? They will know soon
Also, in this story Mai will play an important role.
About the alley where Maki and Yuta almost kissed, I took it from an emblematic place that he adored in my Mexico, more specifically that it is located in Guanajuato and is called Callejón del beso
That place has a very interesting legend that perhaps could also be captured here
Like I said, this version was going to be a bit different and maybe change a few things from a previous chapter to fit in with what's to come.
Also, here I will try to make these two meet and see each other more days before their real last names are discovered ... not like in the original work that everything happens in three days
Anyway, later there will be a little more GojoHime in this story
I hope you continue to like it
we keep reading
