I don't own Harry Potter, just playing around.
Right, I am SO SO SO SO Sorry for taking so long in getting this chapter up. It was a pain to work with, though I sorted it out (mostly) believe it or not I actually got part of the next chapter written for this one.
I think this chapter should be for laleo who basically reminded me to go back to it.
I have tumblr - duochanfan . tumblr . com I put updates of fic, and snippets of new ones, and to ask questions about my fics and to prod me for updates if I seem to be taking too long.
Time Paradox
Chapter Twenty-One
A Holiday
Harry looked around the main playroom and smiled, there were so many happy faces around him and he couldn't help but to do so. He looked around a little more closely and grinned when he spotted Tom under a pile of the younger children that were climbing all over him. He was a site to see and one that Harry was happy to see more often that not. It just showed how different Tom was to Voldemort. Harry walked over to his husband and waited for the other to notice that he was there.
"Oh, Harry, hey." tom grinned as the children started to move around and away from him a little.
"Hello Love." Harry smiled down to him as he offered a hand to the other as the last child climbed off him.
"And what brings you around the little trouble makers?" Tom asked as he took the hand and was pulled up off the floor.
Harry grinned and said softly, so the children that were still wandering around them wouldn't be able to over hear, "well, I was thinking that maybe its time to that all the children on holiday with us. I know that I for one would like one and nearly all the children here haven't been on one. Those that have went with family before they died." He told him as he looked at the children that was now playing with Minnie.
Tom thought for a moment and then smiled, "well, it sounds like a good idea, but how would we be able to manage all of them in a large place?" he asked, thinking about the logistics of it all.
"Well, I want Minnie to come for starters, Richard and Leyna have already said they would come. I am thinking about asking Nick as well. He's feeling a little left out of things at the moment. And I know that Mathew and Faith would be coming with us as well. Since I asked them all, to make sure that we have enough adults to go around the children. I am thinking about asking Simon as well, if he and Michelle would come with us. So there should be plenty of adults to go around the thirty-four children we now have here." Harry said as he did his best to answer the question that Tom had asked him. It was something that he too had thought about when he decided it would be nice for them all to go on holiday.
"All right, if you can get them all to come then I will say yes to a holiday, though I would like to know where you think we should go. To somewhere like Rhyl or Brighton?" Tom then asked him.
"No, somewhere a little more further away than that. I was thinking Southern France, I know that the Potters have a nice place there, that would be large enough for us all to go and be able to stay there. Since they have offered the place to me often for a holiday for just us two." Harry said with a grin to his husband.
"All right then, ask them and then we shall see." Tom told hi, smiling at the thought of being able to take the children on a nice summer holiday away from England. It would be nice for them to see the world a little more.
"Will do." Harry grinned as he looked around the playroom and to the children that were in there, there wasn't that many with in there at the moment.
"Well, go, go and see." Tom said as he shooed his husband away from him.
"Okay, okay, I'm going." Harry laughed as he then went off to ask the others if they would be able to go with them on holiday during the summer.

It was not two hours later that Harry walked back into the play room to find Tom sitting in the reading corner reading a story to the kids. Harry smiled as he went over there and joined the children on the floor and listen to his husbands soothing voice as he read the book aloud to the children. It was a few more minutes until Tom finished as he then looked tot eh kids and the three helpers, including Minnie then ushered the children away so they could get ready for lunch.
"Well, glad to see you back, Husband, but may I ask something?" Tom said with a smile on his face.
"Ask away Husband?" he joked back with a smile on his own face.
"Well, did you enjoy the end of the story?" he asked, as he chuckled at the puzzled look on Harry's face.
Harry would have thought that he would of asked about what everyone said about coming with them on a holiday for the children. "Yes, I did, though you may have to read it again to me later on." Harry smiled back as he mind caught up to Tom's.
"Right, also I want to ask if they have said yes to coming and would it still be all right for us to use the manor in France for the holiday?" he then asked, the question that Harry was actually waiting for and expecting.
"They all said yes and Simon and Michelle said it will be fine to use the Manor for the holiday and that we should go for a round two weeks nice it would be nice to have a longer holiday for the children." Harry answered him.
"Well, shall we tell the staff first and then children, or shall we announce it when they all sit down for lunch?" Tom asked, Harry could tell that he was a little excited about taking them all on Holiday, he knew that it would be a lot of hard work but it would be nice to do it for them all in the end.
"Lets do it at lunch, I already asked Minnie, so she knows as does the two helpers, though they couldn't come, but with us and Minnie, Mathew, Faith, Nick, Richard, Leyna, Simon and Michelle coming I think we should be all right with just us in the end." Harry said wit h a smile on his face.
"Okay, lets go tell the kids. They should all be seated in the dinning room now." Tom said as the two of them made their way to the dinning room. As they walked in, all the kids were seated at four round tables. It was the summer holidays already, and Hogwarts had broken up just three days before. So all the children in the orphanage were home.
Harry and Tom walked to the front of the room and called for the attention of all the children before Lunch was to be served. The two of them knew that if they let them have their food now then they wouldn't really be able to get their attention for a little while longer.
"Right all, we have something of a treat coming for you all in about a month." Harry was the first one to say something as he noticed that all eyes were on him.
"And that treat is a holiday, to Southern France," Tom finished for him as the children erupted into cheers and yells of excitement.
"Well, I think they can't wait to go." Harry said as he looked over to them all with a smile on his face. Tom returned the smile, and knew that they would have their hands full for it all, but it would be worth it for them to take them all away for a little while and to give them all a little fun.

Harry looked around the beachfront and smiled, the children were playing in the sand in little groups as his friends were all around them all. Molly was with Tom and his little group of children, playing happily in the sand. Even he had a small group of children around him as well. It was the second day that they had been in France, and they were all enjoying getting away from the more dreary weather in England, since when they left it was raining.
"Harry!" Came the panicked voice of Michelle as she came running towards him.
"What is it?" he puzzled as he looked to the older woman, as she looked panicked.
"Kevin is gone, I can find him. I looked around and I just can't see him. He got up to go toilet and then he never came back, I just don't know where he went." She told him as she carried on looking around the beach hoping that she would be able to see the small seven year old.
Harry looked towards where the outdoor toilets were, he could see no sign of the young child near them, and they weren't that far away from where the group were spread around. Harry went over to Nick who was the closet one to him.
"Nick we have a problem, one of the kids must have wandered off. We need to go look for him." He said as he then looked towards Tom and motioned for him to come over.
Tom was soon standing near them as Harry told him what had happened and that he and Nick would be going to search for him. "I'll stay here with the kids, you go and look for him. I'll make sure that we will be able to be here for him, in case that he comes back from where ever he went." Tom nodded as he looked to the others with a small frown on his face and a lot of worry that was there as well.
Harry and Nick ran off looking around and calling out Kevin's name as they went, they needed to find the young child, and since it was a Muggle beach and not a Wizarding area, and because of that they weren't able to use spells to find the child.
Harry ran around looking at each of the children that were on the beach. It wasn't long until he and Nick came to the one place that would attract any child. It was a balloon salesmen. He went over to the man and then asked him, "Excuse me sir." He said in English.
"Sir," the man replied in English as well, though Harry could hear the French accent in his voice, "is there something that you need?" he then asked.
"Yes, I was wondering if you saw a child around here, he would look young, around four or five, though he is actually seven. He has dark red hair and blue eyes. He is pale skinned as well." Harry told him softly, hoping that he would be able to get an answer that would help him find the child.
"I saw many children today, and only two with the red hair, though only one of those had darker red." He nodded as he thought for a moment as he tried to remember where he was when he saw the child. "Ah yes, he followed me for a little while, I was near the toilets and walked this way. He stopped near the ice cream van over there," he said as he then pointed to the ice cream van that was parked a little further away from them.
Harry looked around at the children that were standing around it, and a few feet from it all was a young woman with bleach blonde hair and next to her was a child that was crying softly holding her hand. Harry looked to the child and smiled, it looked as though it was Kevin.
"I think its Kevin." Harry said to Nick who was standing next to him. "Thank you sir for your help." He then said to the balloon man.
"You are welcome." He nodded as he then walked away and carried on selling his balloons.
Harry and nick rushed over to them and as soon as Kevin spotted Harry his face lit up as he screamed out, "Harry!" the child let go of the woman's hand and rushed over to the wizard.
Harry picked him up with ease and held him close; he couldn't believe how scared he was when he heard Michelle say that he was missing. It felt as though his heart had gone into his throat and lodged there. As soon as Kevin was in his arms that feeling went away and there was nothing but relief and some anger at the child for walking away on his own. He knew better than to do that. Though a lot of children were like that at times he knew that.
Nick walked over to the woman that had been holding Kevin's hand and smiled in greeting. "Hello Ma'am, thank you for keeping the child out of trouble." He said softly.
"It was no trouble," she replied with a smile on her face, "he was so scared and crying for some one called Harry and another called Tom." She told him.
"Yeah the two of them run the orphanage that Kevin lives in. It's a nice place and I am helping them out at the moment with watching over the children as they are on holiday here." Nick told her, "oh how rude of me, I'm Nicholas Malfoy." He said as he introduced himself to her.
"I'm Cassiel Boloing." She smiled to him, "I went to Beauxbatons." She told him with a smile.
"Ah, I went to Hogwarts." Nick nodded, it was one of the easier ways of being able to say that they were a witch or wizard by telling of what school they went to, since there weren't that many of them around in the European countries.
"Well, what a small coincidence." Cassiel smiled with a small laugh.
"Come over and meet Harry properly, and I think we should be able to introduce you to Tom as well. And maybe some of the other children as well." Nick said as he led the young woman over towards Harry that was still holding Kevin in his arms and telling the small child off for walking away when he was told that he wasn't to do that at all while they were away since they were in a strange country.
"Harry, this is Cassiel Boloing" Nick said as he then added, "Cassiel, this is Harry Potter-Riddle. One of the ones that help runt he orphanage, though his main job is an Auror."
"Nick…" Harry said a little puzzled as to why he would say that to a Muggle.
"She is a witch Harry, you don't have to worry about it," Nick grinned to his friend.
"Nice to meet you." Harry then said as he nodded his head towards her.
"I think it might be nice if she came with us, so we can introduce Tom to her." Nick suggested, though Harry could tell that there was something else in the suggestion for the other.
"All right." Harry nodded as he let down Kevin so the younger one could walk around. Harry took hold of his hand and the group went back to the beach where Cassiel was introduced to the others. Turned out that she was going along the beach after quitting her last job and that she was looking for another one. Tom was the one that suggested they take her on part time to help them all out with the children, since Kevin had taken a shine to her.

It was the last day in France and Harry was standing next to Cassiel as they watched over the children as they ate their dinner. It was a nice happy scene as well, since the children were talking all excited, but a little of it was also saying that they were down about leaving, since it was obvious that they had all enjoyed their holiday.
"Thank you for letting me work with you and the children, it was so nice, and it wasn't something that I thought I would be doing either." Cassiel said as she smiled to Harry.
"You're welcome, the kids lover you, that is why Tom and I agree, if you wish, you could join us on the way home and work at the orphanage, we are always looking for others that would be good with the kids, since we know that some of them will leave us at times. But Tom and I would like to offer you a full time position; it will mean living in the orphanage as well, since we have two that do that already, Minnie, who is here with us on holiday, and Sarah and she is our cook, though she couldn't come with us. We prefer humans to house elves, as it gives a more homely feel to have meals cooked by Sarah, her children are all grown up and starting families of their own." Harry said a little rushed, since h would really like the other to be able to take the position.
"Well, I don't know what to say," she said as she paused to think if over for a few moments, "I think I will take it though. I love the children that you have, they are all so happy."
"Then welcome to our mad little family." Harry smiled to her, Cassiel smiled back; she couldn't believe that there was going to be such a large change in her life just because she helped a lost child on the beach.
Hopefully the next chapter wont take me over four years to write, well, since I already have some of the next written, it shouldn't. Thank you for the reviews, I love them all, and I do hope you are still reading this story, even though its been here for ten years! (can't believe that time has gone by that quick.)
