chapter 15
The students were all playing outside. They were tossing a ball back and forth. They were having a lot of fun. The ball came Medix's way. "I got it," Medix said running back to catch it.
Then the ball landed in front of him.
"Hey where did it go?" Medix asked.
"Medix the ball landed right in front you," Hot shot said.
"Hey what is going on?" Cody asked.
"Is something going on?" Graham asked.
"The ball landed in front Medix and he didn't see it," Scorch said.
"Not mention he has been sitting closer to the board in class than usual," Whirl said.
"Medix is everything alright?" Cody asked.
"I don't know," Medix said.
"Medix it is important to speak up if something is wrong," Graham told him.
"I have been having trouble seeing," Medix said. "Things are kind of blurry lately," he said.
"I think you should tell your uncle so you can get your eyes checked," Cody said.
So Medix came up to his uncle. "Uncle Ratchet, I have been having trouble seeing things lately," Medix told him.
"Okay we better get you to he eye doctor." Ratchet said.
Medix was taken to the eye doctor. There were some tests that were taken. Then Medix looked through a special device to tell what kind of lenses he was going to need. "Can you see?" the doctor asked.
"No," Medix said.
Then he changed the lenses for him. "I can read it all," Medix said honestly.
"You need glasses Medix," the eye doctor said.
They came to an area full of glasses. "All you need to do is choose the frames you like," the eye doctor said.
Medix looked at all the different frames. He tried on a few. Then he tried a round frame pair that was red. "I like these," Medix said.
"They look good on you," Ratchet said.
Then the lenses were made and Medix got to wear them out. "Wow I can see everything," Medix said. "Look at all the leaves on the trees, the clouds in the sky, it is incredible," he said.
Medix came back to the school. "Hey guys," Medix said.
"Wow you got glasses," Hot shot said. "I like the color," he said.
"You look good in those," Whirl said.
"Nice choice in frames," Hoist said.
"You look good in red glasses," Wedge said.
"You a rocking those frames," Brushfire said.
"I bet now you won't miss a catch so easily," Scorch said.
Medix was able to see the board clearly and able to do his work. He was also able to catch the balls too and make a good throw. Medix was also able to see what was coming too. However there were some kids in Milford who teased him and called him names.
Medix was upset. "Everything alright Medix?" Graham asked.
"Some of the kids in Milford they were making fun of me," Medix said. "They were calling me names because of my glasses," he said. "It was so upsetting," he said.
"I can understand that," Graham said. "Keep in mind Medix anyone who would make fun of you for that or anything for that matter is a jerk," he said. "They think by saying stuff like that makes them cool or better than others or makes them feel better about themselves." he said. "So try not to let it get to you," he told him.
"I guess you are right about that," Medix said.
"I know I am right about it," Graham said.
"Yes those guys are just jerks don't listen to them," Hot shot said.
"Yeah they don't know what they are talking about," Hoist said.
"We like your like glasses," Whirl said and the others agreed with it.
"Thank you," Medix said.
Medix accepted about wearing glasses and now he doesn't care what others think.
