Leon and Mila continued following Ramon, keeping their eyes on him to make sure he didn't escape as well as watching out for more infected wolfs roaming around the maze. "Are you sure he knows where we're going? Cause it feels like he's just getting us more lost." Leon murmured.
Mila rolled her eyes and the three continued walking with Hewie. Ramon took them around another corner and Leon and Mila saw that they were out of the maze. They walked up some stairs leading to a balcony, heading back inside the castle. Mila turned and made a smug smirk at Leon. "You we're saying?" Leon scoffed at her.
"Now, if you don't mind-" Before Ramon could get away, Mila grabbed him by the collar of his coat, pulling him back.
"Nice try."
"Release me! You got what you want!" Ramon hissed angrily at her and squirmed trying to get away from her. Neither of them heard someone approaching and Leon felt a gun pointed in his back.
"Put your hands where I can see them." A woman's voice spoke, revealing herself.
Mila saw a dark-haired Asian woman with short hair, wearing dark shades, dressed in a red slit dress and black high heels. "Sorry but following a lady's lead just isn't my style." Leon replied. Just as Mila pulled out her weapon, Leon quickly reacted and knocked the gun out of the woman's hand. She quickly grabbed him and pushed Leon back and pulled out a knife. The woman was met with a knife to her neck when she had hers on Leon's.
"bit of advice, try using knives next time. It's better for close encounters." Leon told her. She flashed a smirk at him, taking her glasses off.
"Leon, long time no see."
"Ada. So, it was you and I'm guessing what I've heard about you was true after all." Leon said.
"About what?" She asked, innocently.
"You, working for Wesker." Mila's eyes widen.
"Wesker?" She growled and glared at the woman, aiming her gun at her.
"Mila, put your gun down." Leon told her. Mila glanced over to him then shifted back to Ada.
"She's working for Umbrella!"
"Let me guess, Leon, your new partner in crime?" Ada asked Leon.
"Where's Wesker?!" Mila demanded. Ada laughed.
"Wouldn't you like to know?" She taunted. Mila
"Don't toy with me bitch." She growled at Ada. Ada turned to Leon.
"You better control your dog, or I will." She warned him.
"Mila, it's okay. Trust me on this. She and I go away back." He said to Mila. Mila still didn't lower her gun, keeping her eyes on Ada.
"Anyone who works for Umbrella, isn't good. There's no reason to trust any of them." She told Leon.
"I am asking you to trust me." Leon insisted again. Mila stared at him for a moment, silently, then shifted her gaze back to Ada then back to Leon again. She had her finger on the trigger, about to squeeze it. Shoot! Umbrella took your family away from you! You have to make every single one of them pay, including Wesker! But Mila couldn't move her finger. She couldn't do it. She sighed and finally lowered her gun and looked at Leon.
"Fine. But don't come crying to me when you get a bullet in the head." Mila told Leon and put her weapon back into its holster. Leon nodded and made a small smile. Ramon glanced up at her.
"I'm sensing a bit of tension going on." He smirked.
"It's nothing to concern your little head about." Mila retorted. Ramon narrowed his eyes, glaring at her.
"So, you have been doing your homework, Leon." Ada said to him.
"Why Ada? Why work for them?" Leon questioned her.
"What's it to you?" Ada smirked. Mila glared at her.
"Answer him."
"Why are you here? What is it that you're after?" Leon asked Ada. Suddenly, there was a bright flash on the ground when Ada had dropped her glasses. She quickly ran while Leon and Mila we're blinded by the light and escaped.
"See you around!" She grabbed her gun off the floor and hopped off the balcony.
"Ada!" Leon shouted but she was already gone. But so was someone else.
"Damn it! My eyes!" Mila hissed, rubbing them, and slowly blinked her eyes to see that Ramon had disappeared.
"And Salazar's gone! Just great!" She shouted.
"We need to get to Ashely before he does." Leon quickly told her.
Ramon had made it back to the throne room, closing the door behind him. "I finally got away from them." Then Ramon saw Mila appear in his mind as he could not get rid of her. There was something different about her. She certainly wasn't normal that's for sure. Yes, she was beautiful he had to admit that. Deadly and intimidating. He even found it surprising that she didn't look at him with disgust, like everyone else who only saw him as a freak. Why though? Why only her? The more he thought about it, the more it drove Ramon insane. He gritted his teeth, growling in frustration.
Then he saw his two bodyguards in front of him within an instant, rushing towards him. Ramon pushed past them, shoving the two verdugos out of his way, heading towards his throne. "You two are useless! What use do I have for you if you let me get captured!" He shouted, furiously, berating them. "Now to find the girl and bring her to me. We must begin the ritual before he arrives-" Before Ramon could order his two bodyguards a voice interrupted him.
"Ah, there you are my old friend." Ramon's eyes widen, startled by the voice and saw Saddler, walking towards him.
"Lord Saddler! Why are you here!?" He sputtered. The two verdugos were silent and kept their eyes on the man as he approached. Saddler stopped in front of Ramon and brushed his hand on Ramon's cheek.
"I've heard that the Americanos have made it to the castle along with the girl. I was worried that they might become too much for you to handle, considering how they've took care of the priest Mendez." Ramon stared up at him in shock and gulped.
"Mendez is dead?" He asked. Saddler nodded, pulling his hand back.
"Yes. It was they who slayed him. Do not take them lightly. If anything happens to the queen plaga, she won't be able to produce us with more plagas, then all of our efforts will be lost."
"I will not let you down. I will continue to guard the queen plaga as you wish." Ramon told him. Saddler placed his hand on Ramon's shoulder.
"Your parents would be proud of you." Ramon felt a swell of pride in his chest and smiled up at Saddler. Would they though? Ramon could barely even remember his mother and father as they had died when he was very young. It was his housekeeper and butler, who had been with his family for three generations, looked after him and been by the young Castellan's side ever since he was born. It was Saddler, his only friend, who opened his eyes to his family's dark sin about the las plagas. The first Castellan shamelessly hid the secret from the people of Valdelobos by sealing the parasites in the ruins the castle was built on top of.
"You think so?" Ramon asked him. Saddler smiled.
"I'm sure of it! With your father's unfortunate passing, your mother was alone to run things on her own and taking care of you. If it wasn't for her, who willingly invited me into your home, you wouldn't be here right now. It was her sacrifice to allow me to plant the las plagas into you and cured you of your illness. But left physical changes to your body." He spoke.
"And with you helping me and allowing me to show the world this gift, you are achieving your parents' dying wish."
