Two Blue Lines Change Everything-Ch 31
Derek ran over to the bed and pulled Kevin off of Penelope and into the arms or Dave and Hotch, he then quickly said, "baby, baby are you okay?", with tears streaming down her cheeks she nodded her head and said, "I I I'm okay, Reid walked over with the keys to the chains and started unlocking then and removing them from a very scared Penelope.
When she was free she threw her arms around her husband and said, "thank you, thank you so much for saving me, another couple of seconds and it would have been too late". Derek said, "so he didn't, he didn't?", she shook her head and said, "no, no he didn't, you all made it in time, you made it in time" as she then completely broke down in his arms.
JJ and Emily made their way over to their friend, she was safe, she was with them and she was safe and sound, they had managed to get to her before Kevin could rape her and it was all thanks to Ramona, she was now and would always be Penelope's lfesaver.
As Derek helped her up off of the bed she winced in pain and grabbed her stomach, he said, "are you alright, what's wrong?", she said, "my stomach, it it it's cramping", she looked up at Derek and siad, "the baby, oh Derek I can't lose this baby, not now", he picked her up bridal style and headed toward the door with JJ and Emily right behind him.
Kevin was currently having his rights read to him by Dave who was taking great pleasure in slapping the handcuffs on Kevin, when he snapped them shut on his wrists Kevin said, "hey that hurts, you've got them too tight", Dave laughed and said, "ohhh really, oh I'm sorry' and then snapped them a little tighter as they pulled Kevin toward the now arriving police officers.
Derek put Penelope gently into the SUV and then ran around to the drivers side and climbed behind the wheel and started the vehicle up. JJ and Emily climbed into the backseat and started talking to their friend to try to calm her down, right now the calmer she could be the better it would be for both her and the baby,
A few minutes later Derek carried Penelope through the ER doors and headed straight over to the desk, he quickly filled them in on what had happened to her, she was quickly put on a gurney and wheeled toward the back with Derek by her side but when they got to the door to her room one of the nurses said, "I'm sorry but you'll need to stay out here".
Penelope screamed, "NOOOOOOO, NOOOOOO, please let him stay with me", the doctor nodded her head and then the nurse stepped aside and let Derek into the room. He stayed by her side holding her hand during the checkup and when the doctor was finished she looked at the couple and blew out a deep breath as she readied to tell them what was going on.
She stood beside Penelope and said, "Mrs. Morgan I need for you to stay calm for me okay, the calmer you are the better, especially with you almost 8 weeks pregnant". Penelope looked at the doctor and said, "and I gonna lose this baby?", the doctor said, "right now that is a possibility but not a certainty so please stay calm and let me do a few more tests".
Penelope nodded her head yes and said, "okay doctor" as she looked between her husband and her doctor, Derek looked at the doctor and said,"is their anything that I can do?", the doctor looked at Penelope and said, "is their anything that he can do to keep you calm?", she said, "can he lay with me, I feel safe and calm when I'm in his arms".
She smiled and said, "sure, if that will keep you calm he can lay with you", Derek then stood up and watched as she scooted over, he then climbed into bed with her. She leaned against his side and laid her head down on his chest as he wrapped his arms around her, the doctor watched the monitors and saw that her heart rate and her blood pressure were getting back to normal.
She then looked at Penelope and Derek and said, "when I get the results of your tests I'll be back but if you feel any pain or discomfort please push this button" as she handed her the call light, Penelope nodded her head and said, "thank you doctor", the doctor grinned and said, "you are very welcome Mrs. Morgan".
Penelope sighed and said, "I love you, I love you so much", he kissed the top of her head and said, "and I love you and I love you", they laid there wrapped in each other arms, waiting patiently for the doctor to come back into the room with her test results.
A little while later the door opened and the doctor stepped inside, she looked at the monitors and saw that her vitals were still staying normal, she then walked closer and looked down at Penelope and Derek who were anxiously waiting to hear how the baby way, seeing the doctor standing there Penellope sent up a silent prayer,for the safety of her unborn baby.
The doctor took a deep breath and said, "Mrs. Morgan I have your test results right here", Derek looked at Penelope and then at the doctor before saying, "how is my wife, is she out of danger, is the baby out of danger?", they both felt their hearts starting to race as they watched the doctors mouth open to tell them what was going on.
