Spoiler warning: this chapter contains spoilers from A new Boy in Berk: Defenders of Berk chapters 13 and 14
The lost brother
Bucket and Mulch are the Vikings in charge of taking care of the animals in the farms, and going out to fish
I really like those two, even though Bucket seems scared of me sometimes, he's still really nice
The two of them went out on a fishing trip but they didn't come back when they were supposed to. At first, no one got worried, sometimes they suffer some setbacks that make them arrive a bit later
But, when two days passed and they didn't return, so Stoick sent Hiccup, Astrid, Snotlout and Blake to investigate with us of course
"We're getting pretty far north" Astrid said
"Bucket and Mulch have two days overdue, we have to keep searching" Hiccup said
"Bucket and Mulch don't look for trouble, what could've happened to them?" Toothless asked
"Maybe they got hit a glacier or something" Stormfly suggested
"Or maybe a shark attacked them" Hookfang suggested
"What do you think, Thunder?" Toothless asked but I didn't say anything
"Thunder, are you there?" Hookfang asked
"Oh, sorry. I was just… thinking" I said
"About what?" Stormfly asked
"This area… it looks… familiar" I said
"At this point I fear that they might have been attacked" Blake said
"But you don't really think Bucket and Mulch are up here, do you?" Astrid asked hugging herself trying to stay warm
"You can't take the cold, Astrid?" Snotlout asked
"No, I just don't have a heated seat like you do" Astrid explained
"That's right, you don't, no one else does" Snotlout said before snapping his fingers, so Hookfang ignited a bit to keep Snotlout warm
"Actually… you're not the only one" Blake said confusing Snotlout "With just riding Thunder I'm surprisingly warm, so I haven't been cold"
My internal body temperature it's bit high, so it's really hard for me to be cold. I don't know how but I'm seem to be warming my rider, benefits of being a Skrill I suppose
"Looks like they're in trouble" Hiccup said, we all looked down and saw how a Bucket and Mulch's ship was being attacked by a Berserker ship "Let's go, bud"
We started to fly towards the Berserker ship and when we were close enough, Stormfly shot spikes to some Berserkers
"Nice shooting, Astrid" Hiccup said before looking at Snotlout "Snotlout, light them up"
"You don't have to tell us twice" Hookfang said
Hookfang and Snotlout flew down and destroyed the plank between the two ships, the Berserkers got up and aimed their crossbows at them
"Oh no, you don't" I said before shooting them a lightning blast "Toothless, want to do the honors?"
"Sure I do" Toothless said before shooting a plasma blast that sent the Berserker ship back and forcing them to sail away
Minutes later, Bucket and Mulch were telling the riders what happened
"We thought the Berserker ship hit an iceberg, so we came into help" Mulch explained "Then, they attacked us"
"But why would the Berserkers attack you?" Blake asked
"Because we saw 'it'" Mulch said
"It?" Hiccup and Astrid asked
It? That could be anything literally
Bucket and Mulch took us where they saw "it" but I was more focused on Toothless who was rolling on the snow enjoying himself
"Seriously? first the grass and now the snow?" I asked
"Hey, you might find snow common since you lived on the north, so let me be, okay?" Toothless said as he got up
"Not just any dragon, it's a Skrill" I heard Blake say
"Wait, a Skrill?" I said looking at him and saw something trapped in the ice a Skrill but… he looks so familiar "Impossible" I gasped after I recognized the Skrill "I'll get you out"
I ran towards the ice and began to hit it with my wing claws trying to break the ice
"Whoa, Thunder, calm down" Blake said trying to push me back
"I must help him! I must release him from the ice!" I said but Blake hugged me and began to pet me
"It's okay, it's okay" he said I slowly started to calm down
"Thunder, what happened?" Toothless asked
"I-I… tried t-to free that Skrill f-from the ice" I said
"I think Toothless means why did you act like that?" Stormfly asked
"I thought you said you didn't want to have another Skrill around" Hookfang said
"T-this… is different… I-I-I… know that Skrill" I said
"Then, who is he?" Toothless asked but I just looked away sadly
"Why would the Berserkers be trying to dig it out?" Astrid said
"Dig him out, actually" Blake said at least my rider understands
"What do you mean by that?" Snotlout asked
"This Skrill looks similar to Thunder, in fact, the only difference that I can see between them is the color of their scales, so this Skrill could also be a male" Blake explained "But I haven't seen a female Skrill, so I could be wrong"
"You're not wrong, that Skrill is a male" I said
"That doesn't answer the question" Astrid said crossing her arms
"We'll have to find out" Hiccup said
"Oh great, now we have to dig him out?" Snotlout asked
"Actually, I have a better idea" Hiccup said looking at Toothless
Instead of braking completely the ice, we just broke a part that still had the Skrill inside and carried with some ropes back to Berk
The first thing we did when we arrived was taking the frozen Skrill to the academy where the other riders were amazed
"I say we smash it" Snotlout said slamming his fist into his palm
"I say we blast it" Tuffnut said as he and Ruffnut sat onto the frozen Skrill
"I saw we blast it then smash it" Ruffnut said
"You're not going to do that with him!" I roared
"Thunder, seriously what's gotten into you?" Toothless asked
"You've been acting really weird" Meatlug said
"I guess you deserve to know" I sighed "That Skrill in the ice… he… he… he is my brother"
"What?!" all of the dragons asked
"Y-your brother?" Stormfly asked
"But… you said he died" Belch said
"That's what I thought, but… he's here… my little brother… we'll be together again" I said almost crying
"You're the oldest of your siblings, aren't you?" Stormfly asked
"Indeed, I'm the oldest. My sister was the second oldest and as might you have already guessed; my brother is the youngest" I said before trying to break the ice once again "And that's why I must free him"
Then, Blake walked towards me, so I stopped what I was doing in order to talk with him
"Thunder, you know that Skrill, right?" Blake asked, so I only nodded as an answer "Is that Skrill your mother? Your father? Maybe your brother or sister?"
"He's my brother, please, we've got to get him out" I pleaded
Blake looked back at Hiccup and Fishlegs
"Alright, I'll train the Skrill but only because it seems to be Thunder's family" Blake said "But I'll have to take a closer look"
"We've got you covered" Fishlegs said looking at Meatlug "Lava blast"
"Meatlug, I won't let you hurt my brother" I said blocking her path
"Thunder, it's okay. She's just going to melt the ice a bit" Blake said
"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing" Meatlug said
"Alright, but… please be careful" I said
Meatlug walked towards the ice and threw up some lava on it melting it a bit
"Well, now I can tell that this Skrill is a male and he also seems to be younger than Thunder, so he probably hasn't been in there for too long" Blake said
"So, you can train him?" Astrid asked
"Please say yes, we've got the perfect name for him" Tuffnut said
"Yeah, Thunder 2.0" Ruffnut said
"At least could you think in a better name for my brother?" I asked angrily
"How about 'Storm'. Is that a better name?" Toothless asked
"Technically that name is already occupied" Stormfly said glaring at Toothless
"Right, sorry" Toothless said
"First: yes, I can train the Skrill and second: his name is not going to be Thunder 2.0, but we should probably tell Stoick about this since this could also mean trouble" Blake said
"You're right, we should tell him right away" Hiccup said before he, Fishlegs, Astrid and Blake started to leave
"Thunder, are you coming?" Blake asked
I don't know what to do, I don't want to leave my brother but I need to know what Stoick is going to say about this, so I accompanied my rider
We went to the Great Hall were Stoick and other Vikings have reunited in order to talk about the Berserker attack against Bucket and Mulch
"I think we know why Dagur's men attacked Bucket and Mulch" Hiccup said as we walked towards them
"Go on, son" Stoick said
"Blake got a better look at the dragon Bucket and Mulch in the ice" Hiccup said
"We found a dragon!" Bucket said excitedly before looking at Mulch "Can we keep it? I've always wanted my own dragon, Mulch"
"Uh… sorry for telling you this, Bucket… but… it's a Skrill" Blake said gesturing at me
"Uh… hi" I said awkwardly
"Oh… I don't want one of those" Bucket said before looking at me "Ah! Skrill!"
"Are you sure about this?" Stoick asked
"Oh, we're sure" Fishlegs said as he ran towards us
"Besides, I ride a Skrill, so I'm sure I'd recognize one anywhere" Blake said
"We've better continue to discuss this outside" Stoick said as he leaded us outside with Gobber following us
"The legend says the lightning comes from a Skrill's mouth and thunder from its… uh… you know" Gobber said
I feel like I should be offended by that but I'm going to take it as a compliment
"Does it really work that way, Thunder?" Toothless asked
"No, Toothless, it doesn't" I said rolling my eyes "You should already know this"
"Just want to make sure" Toothless said
"Blake, remember me to never get behind Thunder" Astrid said
"Hey!" I said
"It doesn't work that way, Astrid" Blake said "Skrills drew lightning from clouds and redirect it, they can also hit multiple targets at once, that's why they're feared dragons"
"They can also store the lightning in their body and use it later" Fishlegs said
"That's why Thunder needs to find a storm every now and then" Blake said
"I've heard enough, we need to get rid of that Skrill. It's just the excuse Dagur needs to go to war" Stoick said
"What? No! he's my brother" I said
"Wait, if you give me the chance, I can train the Skrill that way he'll be an ally. Besides, Thunder seems to know him, so that can be an advantage" Blake said
"But why would you want to train him?" Gobber asked "That dragon is probably just a carcass by now"
"Actually, because for a Skrill's internal body temperature, they can be frozen alive for decades" Fishlegs said
"And who's guarding it?" Stoick asked
"Oh no" Blake said
Minutes later we were running back to the academy, it could've been easier to fly back but Toothless and I wouldn't be able to carry everyone on our backs
"So, let me be clear, that dragon is still alive and you left Ruffnut, Tuffnut and Snotlout to guard him?" Stoick asked
"Okay, that sounds much worse when you say it" Hiccup said
"Let's just hope the Skrill is still frozen when we arrive" Blake said before an explosion was seen at the academy "Ugh, too much for that idea"
"I'll check how things are" Toothless said as he ran faster, so we continued to run
From the distance we were able to see how a dragon came out of the academy and was about to fly away
"BROTHER!" I roared making him stop allowing us to arrive "B-Brother… i-it's you… y-you're out of the ice" I said holding my tears but they weren't tears from sadness they were tears from happiness
"Brother? Is that you?" my brother asked
"Yes, it's me, I'm your big brother" I said happily "We have finally reunited"
"Brother" my brother muttered before growling "I'll kill you!"
My brother shot a lightning blast at us but we all dodged it
"Brother, what are you-?" I didn't manage to finish my sentence because my brother pounced at me and pinned me to the ground
"I'll kill you for everything you did" he growled before I released myself
"Wait, you don't understand" I said as I got up
"I understand that everything bad that has happened to our family is your fault" my brother said before trying to attack me
Then, I saw how Blake started to get close to my brother
"Blake, wait, this is between me and my brother" I said trying to stop him
"Don't worry, Thunder. I know what I'm doing" Blake said as he continued to walk towards my brother "Hey, there, boy. I know you might be angry and confused but I'm not going to hurt you"
"Stay away from me, human" my brother said almost biting Blake, so he gave a few steps back
"Brother, please, just let me explain" I pleaded
"Shut up! I don't want to hear anything you say" my brother growled
Then, Blake got close again and began to swung it left and right
"Blake, what are you doing with that… dagger? That… shiny… and pretty… dagger" I said
"What… is going on? Why do I feel… tired and calm?" my brother asked
I quickly found out what was happening, Blake was using that dagger trick to hypnotize us and keep me and my brother calmed
I shook my head and snapped myself out of the trance but my brother still seemed hypnotized
"That's better, just stay calm" Blake said as he stretched his arm towards my brother
"What are you doing?" my brother asked before Blake started to pet him "This… feels good"
"See? I'm not going to hurt you, we're not enemies" Blake said
"We're not enemies? If you say so… it must be true" my brother purred as he enjoyed the petting
"We should put you a name, how about… Spark?" Blake said
"Spark? I… I like that name" my brother said
Suddenly, Snotlout and the twins came out of the academy on their dragons
"I've got this" Snotlout said before making Hookfang shot a fire blast at my brother who snapped out of his trance
"Look out!" my brother said before pushing me and Blake out of the way before protecting himself with his wings
When the fire light out, Spark looked angrily at Blake
"You disgusting human" my brother growled before flying off
"Brother, wait!" I yelled but he was too far away "No…"
"Snotlout! What were you thinking?! I almost trained the Skrill!" Blake yelled angrily as he got up "And how did he get out of the ice?!"
"Their fault" Snotlout said pointing at the twins
"We're sorry, Thunder" Toothless said as he came out of the academy "We tried to stop him"
"Why did he look so angry at you?" Stormfly asked
"I… I don't want to talk about it now, Stormfly" I said as some tears came out of my eyes
"Thunder, your brother is really dangerous. You know we can't just let him go like that, do you?" Toothless asked, so I glared at him
"Toothless, we have been friends for a very long time but if you put a single paw on my brother, I won't hesitate to rip the rest of your tail off!" I growled before looking at the other dragons "And the same goes for you!"
"We better find Spark before the Berserkers do it first" Blake said
"Who's Spark?" Snotlout asked
"The Skrill, I named him" Blake said
Sometime later, we were flying around Berk trying to find my brother
"Any idea about what we do when we find him?" Astrid asked
"Calm him down, tame him, train him and make sure Dagur doesn't use him against us" Hiccup said
I swear, if Dagur hurts my brother I will destroy him
"Oh yeah, that sounds easy enough" Astrid said sarcastically
"Skrills have weaknesses too. For example, they can't use their lightning in the water" Blake said
"That's a start" Hiccup said
"No, a start would be having any clue were that stupid dragon is" Snotlout complained "We've been circling the island for hours and I'm starving"
"Snotlout, you just said something unintentionally brilliant" Hiccup said
"Of course, I did" Snotlout said before realizing he didn't have any idea of what it was "What was it again?"
"When you wake up in the morning, what's the very first thing you want to do?" Hiccup asked
Snotlout thought for a moment before talking "Well, I usually have to-"
"No, after that" Hiccup interrupted
"Oh, eat" Snotlout said
"Exactly" Hiccup said before looking at Blake "So, what's a Skrill's favorite food?"
"Oh no" Blake said already knowing the answer
Then, we went to a farm where a lot of sheep were missing, the riders started to question the owner of the farm
"Brother, where are you?" I muttered sadly
"Don't worry, Thunder, we'll find him" Toothless said placing a wing around me trying to comfort me but I pushed it away with mine
"And allowing you al to send him away? You're crazy if you think I'm going to allow that" I said
"About that, I'm sorry" Toothless apologized "I shouldn't have said that your brother is dangerous"
"I can't blame you, the last time I saw my brother we had a huge fight. He must still be mad at me" I said sadly
"Don't worry, when Blake trains him, you two will be able to talk things out" Toothless said as he placed his wing around me again
"Thanks, Toothless" I said feeling a bit better
Suddenly, we heard a crash of thunder, so we looked where it came and saw some thunderclouds
"I guess we now know where your brother is" Toothless said
We all quickly flew towards the clouds looking for my brother
"Hold up, everybody" Hiccup ordered before a figure was seen flying through the clouds, it was my brother
"Okay, now what?" Astrid asked
"Let me get closer, I know how to calm an angry Skrill" Blake said
"I'll go with you, I don't think Spark is going to be happy when he sees Thunder" Hiccup said just before my brother flew pass us, so Toothless and I began to chase him
"Brother, wait!" I yelled
"Go away!" my brother yelled back
"How is your brother so fast?" Toothless asked
"He has always been a quick flyer" I said
"Hey, Spark, you've been asleep for a long time, huh?" Hiccup asked as he stretched his hand only to pull it back when some electricity went through my brother's body
"Spark, it's me, your old pal" Blake said trying to calm my brother down
"I told you to go away, Brother. And take your human with you" my brother growled as he prepared himself to shot a lightning blast but when the other dragons got closer, my brother got even angrier
"JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!" my brother roared as he began to shot lightning blasts at everything, so we had to fly away
"Okay, that could've been a lot worse" Hookfang said
"He won't listen I don't know what to do" I said holding my tears
"Follow me, I've got an idea" Hiccup said as he leaded us near the ocean "I'm going to dive through the clouds from above and lure Spark down to you guys, so you can get him into the water"
"What?! No! that will only make him angrier than he already is" Blake said "We need to calm him down"
"Sorry, Blake, but Spark doesn't seem to want to cooperate" Hiccup said
"What?!" I yelled "Toothless, don't tell me you support that plan?"
"I'm sorry, Thunder, but I don't see any other solution" Toothless said "The more time your brother stays out here, the chance of him being captured by the Berserkers increases"
"Alright, I'll do it for my brother" I sighed
"And how exactly are you going to find Spark in the clouds?" Astrid asked
"Toothless doesn't need to see something, remember?" Hiccup asked
"Does that work in the clouds?" Astrid asked
"There's only one way to find out" Hiccup said before Toothless dived into the clouds, so we waited near the ocean until we saw how my brother flew near us
"It's working" Astrid said as we began to chase my brother
"Time to give this dragon a bath" Tuffnut said
"I'll bet he hates it much as we do" Ruffnut said
Barf began to let out some gas but before Belch could spark it, a fire arrow did it creating an explosion
"We're under attack!" Astrid said
"Toothless, look out!" Stormfly warned, allowing Toothless to dodge some arrows
"Is that…?" Hiccup asked looking down
"Dagur" Toothless growled
"Let's get out of range before they reload" Hiccup suggested before Fishelgs flew pass him
"Already ahead of you" he said
"Let's go, bud" Hiccup said as they all flew away leaving my brother in the clouds
Minutes later, we landed at a sea stack
"Hey, Snotlout. Are you okay?" Hiccup asked
"Ha, he's better than okay. Did you see that lightning bolt to the head?" Tuffnut asked
Snotlout tried to say something but only some blathering came out of his mouth
"Hookfang, what happened to him?" Meatlug asked
"Spark hit him with a lightning" Hookfang said not sounding worried at all
"Tuffnut's right, he's better than okay" Astrid said as Snotlout blathered again "And makes more sense than usual"
"Okay, he's out of it, so the rest of us will-" Hiccup got interrupted by Snotlout's blathering "Snotlout, we have no idea what you're saying"
"Sure we do, he said 'I'm perfectly fine'" Tuffnut said confusing everyone "What? I speak post-lightning Snotlout"
"How many times as he been hit by a lightning?" Blake asked
"Apparently the enough times to have his own language" Toothless said
"Often enough" Tuffnut said and Snotlout blathered "Oh, really? 12 times?" then Snotlout blathered again "He said 'enough talk. Dagur's all mine and Tuffnut is the toughest of us all' he implied the last part"
Hiccup groaned and facepalmed himself annoyed "Alright, he stays but we still need to catch Spark and get him into the water"
"No! that's not going to work" Blake said "If we try to force Spark into the water, he'll see us as a threat"
"Spark is too dangerous, we'll have to send him away when we catch him to make sure Dagur doesn't use him against us" Hiccup said
"What? Toothless, that is still the plan?" I asked
"Well… uh…" Toothless hesitated
"Stormfly? Is that still the plan?" I asked but Stormfly didn't say anything, so I looked at Meatlug, Barf, Belch and Hookfang "Did you all agree to send my brother away?"
"Thunder, we don't have a choice" Toothless said
I felt how my heart shrank. I can't believe it, my own friends had agreed to send my brother away behind my back… I… I… I feel so betrayed
"What did you just say?" Blake asked "Hiccup, if Toothless was considered as a threat to the point where your father must banish him from Berk, would you be willing to do anything it needs to avoid it?"
"Of course, I would" Hiccup said "Besides, technically that has already happened"
"Well, I'm trying to do something similar. I'm trying to avoid that you guys sent Spark away just for being what he is and I'm trying to avoid that Spark gets used as a weapon by the Berserkers because I know how it feels" Blake said
"Blake, as much as I don't like the idea, we don't have a choice" Hiccup said
"Thunder, are you okay?" Hookfang asked
"What do you think?!" I yelled "Of course, I'm not okay. Not now that you all have shown your true colors"
"I should've known you wouldn't listen" Blake sighed "Fine, I'll do it all by myself and if one of you hurts Spark, you'll regret it"
"I can't believe I considered you my friends, especially you, Toothless" I growled angrily before flying off
"Thunder, wait!" Stormfly said but I ignored her
Blake and I flew through the clouds looking for my brother without luck, in all that time tried to calm down but I couldn't, just thinking in what the others had planned behind my back makes my blood boil in rage
"Don't worry, Thunder, I know Spark is your family and I will reunite you with him" Blake said giving me some head pats, I must've growled without noticing
"Thank you, at least I can still trust you" I said feeling a bit calmed
Suddenly we saw a pretty big explosion in the distance, an explosion that can only be made by a Zippleback
"Hiccup, I should've seen it coming" Blake muttered angrily
I flew towards the explosion being careful to avoid being hit by it. Luckily, Blake and I saw my brother but we also saw Hiccup and Toothless chasing him
"You know what to do, don't you, Thunder?" Blake asked
"Sure I do" I growled as I started to fly towards my brother but when Toothless shot him a plasma blast, I shot a lightning blast, when both blasts collided, they canceled each other out and created a huge explosion
Then, Hiccup and Toothless looked up and saw us
"I warned you, Hiccup!" Blake yelled before I shot another lightning blast at Toothless
"Thunder, what are you doing?!" he asked
"I must protect my brother, Toothless, and if in order to do it I must fight with you, so be it" I growled before realizing that my brother had flown away, so I began to fly behind him
Thunder, get me closer to him" Blake said, I nodded as an answer and began to fly faster
"You really don't know when to stop, do you?" my brother growled before Blake jumped from my back and landed on my brother's back "GET OFF ME YOU HUMAN!"
"Calm down, I'm your friend, remember?" Blake asked
"I'm no friend of a human!" my brother grolwed
"Brother, he's a good human, let him help you" I said
Hiccup caught up with us, so Toothless shot three plasma blasts but my brother shot three lightning blasts
"Thunder, distract Hiccup and Toothless" Blake ordered
"Stay away from my brother!" I roared before shotting them another lightning blast
"Thunder, please, I don't want to fight you!" Toothless said before realizing that my brother was behind him "Uh… so… you're Thunder's brother, huh? It's nice to meet you"
My brother kept trying to get Blake off his back as he also shot lightning blasts at Toothless but then, an explosion hit him, the responsible were no other than Barf and Belch
Yoo-Hoo, remember us?" Tuffnut asked
My brother looked angrily at them and began to chase them but when he was about to shot a lightning blast, Toothless placed himself between them and shot a plasma blast
The explosion was pretty big and my brother was sent flying towards me, so he slammed into me
I don't know what happened after that, but when I recovered, I found myself in the middle of the ocean, my brother wasn't too far away
"Brother" I said weakly but before I could to anything, a net warped around me before I got pulled up to a ship, my brother was also pulled up to the ship
I quickly noticed who was the one that captured us, Alvin the Treacherous himself
"What's going on?" my brother asked
"Let's take these beasts to Outcast Island, I've got plans for them" Alvin ordered
"Who is this human?" my brother asked
"He's Alvin the Treacherous, being captured by him is not good" I said "We have to get out of here, brother"
"Don't call me that" my brother said "I'm not your brother anymore"
"What?" I asked "But… brother… I-"
"I'm not your brother anymore! Don't you understand?!" my brother said, even though he just said he's not my brother, I can't think of him as a stranger… it's impossible for me
"W-w-why would you say that?" I said almost crying
"You've always been responsible for everything bad that has happened to our family and now our parents and our sister are gone, all because of you" my brother said "I hate you"
Those words… those three words… those words were the worst words I could ever listen… I… I felt how my heart broke in a million pieces… my own brother hates me
All I want to do is… cry… I just want to cry… I… I feel like I've lost everything
Of course, I couldn't allow myself to look weak in front of an enemy, so I had to hold my tears in all the way to Outcast Island
When we arrived, the Outcasts took us to the arena and locked me and my brother in different cages, they weren't to far away. In fact, they were in front of each other
When the Outcasts left, I walked to the deepest part of my cage, collapsed on the ground and… I began to cry
It didn't matter how much I tried to stop, I just couldn't. After at least ten minutes of crying, I started to calm down a bit, so I got up and looked at my brother's cage
"Brother… I know you don't want to hear me… but… I need to tell you something" I sobbed
"I don't want to hear it, Thunder. That's how humans call you, isn't it?" my brother asked as he looked at me "You are truly pathetic and you called yourself my big brother, you have even allowed a human to ride you"
"Just listen… please" I pleaded almost bursting into tears again "I know you blame me for everything bad that has happened… I shouldn't be surprised considering how I behaved when we ended up alone"
"What are you trying to say?" my brother asked
"I'm sorry… I'm sorry for everything…" I sobbed "After I thought you died… I couldn't stop crying… I cried for the whole night… if we get out… kill me if you want… but… please… don't hate me… I… I never stopped loving you, brother"
"Too late, I'll never forgive you, and I'll always hate you" my brother said as he walked to the deep part of his cage. I collapsed on the ground, cover myself with my wings and continued to cry
That night, I was able to calm down, but then the Outcasts pulled me and my brother out of our cages, my brother was trying to resist but I didn't to anything but to look at the ground sadly
What took me by surprise what that Dagur and the Berserkers where also here, that must mean the Berserkers and Outcasts have made an alliance to destroy Berk but… I don't really care now
My dragon friends probably hate me too, and my rider… I don't have to be a genius to know that he must have died after that explosion, if me that I'm a dragon felt weak after it, a human should be even worse
Mildew also was here but like I said, I don't really care now
Then, Dagur walked towards my brother
"The Skrill, dragon of my people, so beautiful, so furious" he said
"Let me go!" my brother yelled
"The only thing a dragon understands is a staff to their heads" Mildew said as he prepared his staff to hit my brother but Dagur stopped him
"Touch them with that stick and I'll make you eat it" Dagur threatened "You have no idea with what you're dealing with, do you? because if you did, you'd drag them out of the storm"
"And why exactly?" Mildew asked
"They draw their power from lightning, smelly old man" Dagur said
Before Mildew could answer, a lightning hit my brother allowing him to shot a lightning blast at Dagur but he moved, so the blast hit Mildew instead
It was a bit funny, it almost made me chuckle
Then, the Outcasts put us back into our cages before Dagur walked to my brother's cage
"Don't you worry, baby. When we get you all harnessed up, you'll be free to strike anyone you want or more precisely, anyone I want" Dagur said
"You're crazy if you think I'm going to let that happen" my brother growled before Dagur looked at me
"Don't think I don't recognize you; I know you're the dragon of that new boy of Berk. You're lost without you master, aren't you? Don't worry, I'll gladly be your new master" Dagur said
Then, the Outcasts and Berserkers left, so I just laid down and began to fell asleep as I continued to cry
After I while I woke up when I heard how the door of my cage opened, before I could do anything, a Berserker put me a leather collar with some ropes and pulled me out of the cage before getting rid of my saddle, the only thing I had to remember my rider
When I was taken somewhere by the Berserker, I was able to see how more Berserkers entered my brother's cage
We were taken to a Berserker ship where Dagur seemed to be waiting
"Sir, we've got the Skrills" a Berserker said
"Well done, now let's sail towards Berk" Dagur said
I don't know what happened but the Berserkers with some pulls from the ropes made me and my brother fly against our will
Then, we started to sail away but after a while, the ship stopped and Dagur cut a rope revealing me and my brother
It turns out that Alvin found out what was happening and stopped Dagur from leaving with me and my brother
Alvin growled in complete anger, he grabbed a sword and jumped onto the Berserker ship
"I'll cut you to pieces!" Alvin yelled as he knocked Dagur onto the floor
"Why don't you try?" Dagur asked as he got up
Dagur slammed his exe towards Alvin who blocked it, they both began to swing their weapons at each other until Alvin pushed Dagur into the mast
"Give me back my Skrills!" Alvin yelled as he charged towards Dagur
"They were never your Skrills, Alvin" Dagur said as he hit Alvin's chest with his shoulder "They're ours! They're always been ours!"
They continued to swing their weapons at each other until they clashed into each other, Alvin and Dagur tried to overpower each other until Dagur hit Alvin on the head, pushing him back
"Take that!" Dagur said as he kicked Alvin's face but he quickly recovered, he even was able to disarm Dagur but he dodged every attack
"You can't run forever, boy!" Alvin said before Dagur jumped onto his back and towards the Berserkers who were holding Thunder's and Spark's ropes
"Oh, I think it's time you do some running" Dagur said as he took my brother's ropes
Then, he pulled them down forcing my brother to absorb some lighting and shot a lighting blast at Alvin who dodged it but he also fell to the floor. However, he couldn't stay there because Dagur made my brother shot another lightning blast
Without having a place to run, Alvin jumped into the sea
"Tired of running? Want to try some swimming?" Dagur asked as he looked at Alvin "That won't work either"
Alvin dived underwater just before Spark shot another lightning blast electrifying the water
"Well, that takes care of that" Dagur said before realizing that Savage and some Outcasts boarded the ship "Savage, I have a one-time offer for you and your men. You can join me or you can join Alvin"
Savage and the Outcasts looked at the sea where Alvin had dived and saw some dead fish, then they looked at me and my brother
After a while, the fleet for invading Berk was ready
"The fleet is ready to sail to Berk, sir" Savage said
"Excellent! Now that this whole Alvin thing is behind us, we can lure Hiccup and his Night Fury into battle!" Dagur said
"Why wait?" a voice said
We all looked where the voice came and saw Hiccup and Toothless
"We're right here, Dagur, me and my Night Fury" Hiccup said
"Toothless?" I asked
"Don't worry, Thunder, we'll free you and your brother" Toothless said
For some reason Dagur punched Savage out of the way, and grabbed the ropes attached to my brother
"Me and my Skrill against you and your Night Fury?" Dagur asked as he pulled the ropes "I like it"
Dagur once again pulled the ropes forcing my brother to shot a lightning blast at Hiccup but he dodged it and began to fly away, so Dagur followed him
Then, I saw how someone was charging at the Outcasts and Berserkers, it was my rider! But… how? I thought he died at the explosion
I was happy to see him but the Berserkers pulled the ropes attached to me forcing me to shot a lightning blast
"Blake, look out!" I said before shotting my blast at him
Luckily, he dodged it but I didn't have time to recover before being forced to shot another lightning blast
After a few minutes of fighting, I was able to see how Blake started to get tired, so I was forced to shot him again but Blake threw his spear. My blast hit the spear and when the Berserkers saw it, they jumped into the ocean
I took the chance to fly down and grab Blake's spear with my mouth before grabbing him with my paws and fly away
When we were a safe distance away, I left Blake on the ground, landed and left his spear on the ground as well
I thought he'd be furious at me for attacking him but instead of scolding me, he ran towards me
"Thunder!" he yelled before hugging me "I was so worried"
That hug… that simple hug was able to comfort me in a way I didn't think it was possible
I felt how all the sadness just disappeared, it was almost like it never existed
"I… I'm happy to see you too" I purred
This hug is exactly what I needed, I think I even dropped a tear from happiness. If it was up to me, I'd stay like this for the rest of the day
"Spark!" Blake suddenly gasped "Thunder, I know you've been through a lot but we've got to look for him and Hiccup"
I nodded and allowed Blake to remove the collar around my neck, we both know that if Blake rides me without a saddle could be dangerous but we don't have a choice
I flew off as soon as I could and we began to look for my brother or Toothless but instead we saw Barf and Belch on the distance, so I began to follow them
When, I caught up with them we arrived at iceberg and they along with Hiccup and Toothless were preparing to leave
"Hiccup, what happened?! Where's Spark?!" Blake asked
"Well, my friend, Spark-" Tuffnut began
"Spark left" Hiccup quickly interrupted
"What?" Blake and I asked
"After releasing him from Dagur, he began to chase me and Toothless but after a while, I was able to calm him down using that dagger trick you used on him and Thunder" Hiccup lied as he gave a gesture to the twins telling them to shut up
"R-really? But… why would he leave?" Blake asked
"I don't know, I was about to train him when he backed away and seemed to think in what was he doing before flying away" Hiccup lied
"No… brother" I grunted sadly but Blake started to give me some head pats
"It's okay, Thunder, I'm sure Hiccup's telling the truth, so I'm sure Spark is in a better place now" he said
Then, we started to fly back to Berk, but I must apologize to Toothless
"Hey… Toothless" I called getting his attention "I'm sorry for attacking you, you probably hate me but-"
"Thunder, I don't hate you, I'm not even mad" Toothless interrupted me "I know you were just doing what you had in order to protect you brother, I would do the same if it has been my brother"
"Thank you, it means a lot" I said "Is it true what Hiccup said? did my brother just leave like that?"
"Yes, I don't know what you told him but… he said he needed some time to think and he doesn't know if he'll return one day" Toothless said "I can promise you that I'm telling the truth"
"Very well, you are my best dragon friend, so I don't have a reason to doubt you" I said
We quickly returned to Berk and landed at the academy where the other riders and dragons were waiting for us, they all ran towards us
"Barf, Belch, Thunder, there you are!" Meatlug said
"Where have you been?!" Stormfly asked
"What happened to Spark?!" Hookfang asked
"Calm down, Thunder and I will tell you everything" Toothless said
"Actually, it's better if you tell them, Toothless" I said "I need to be alone for now"
I walked away and left the academy before looking at the sky
"Brother… wherever you are… please… take care" I said
(Toothless' POV)
Oh gods, I can't believe it, I can't believe I lied to Thunder. I feel so dirty and guilty
When we released Spark from Dagur, he began to chase us, so Hiccup and I had to trap him in that iceberg
I… I just don't have the heart or courage to tell Thunder the truth
When Blake left Hiccup told the other riders what truly happened including that we had to trap Spark again, so I must do the same with the other dragons
"Guys, I know you might have heard Hiccup tell what happened but… there's something you must know" I said
"What is it?" Stormfly asked
"Hiccup and I told Blake and Thunder that Spark left on his own but… the truth is… we had to trap him inside an iceberg" I said making them all gasp, except for Barf and Belch who already knew
"What?!" Stormfly asked
"Toothless, that too low even for me" Hookfang said
"We must tell Thunder right away" Meatlug said
"No!" I said stopping them "When I saw Thunder at Outcast Island… he looked so broken, just imagine what will happen to him if he knows what truly happened to his brother"
"Even we know that it's not good for Thunder" Belch said
"We know how important a brother is" Barf said
"That's why we must keep it a secret, Thunder can't know under any circumstance" I said
"This is for Thunder's own good" Belch said
"Belch and I have already agreed to keep it secret from Thunder" Barf said

"Meatlug?" I said looking at her

"But what if Spark returns and attacks us?" Stormfly said
"We'll have to scare him off before Thunder knows he was here" I said
