Chapter 13: Rides, love, and stupidity.
"Oh. My. God."
"Don't you dare Vic. Don't you even dare."
"I'm sorry honey bee, but that is calling for me!"
"Victor Stone!" Karen screeched. Victor chuckled uncontrollably as he ran towards the large concession stand at the amusement park.
Victor wore a large grin on his face at the sight that laid before him. In his eyes lied a large, and I mean LARGE Chile dog. About ten pounds to be exact. It sat proudly on a mountain of fluffy white bread while the thick clump of chile rested on the meat.
Victor's mouth was watering more and more by the second, thanks to this glorious sight.
"Sparky! You just ate a funnel cake! You better not be thinking about eating that damn hotdog!" Karen scolded. Victor- who was still focusing on the hotdog- numbly nodded.
"Well, look at you my boy! If you drool anymore, they'd have to put Niagara falls out of business!" A voice chuckled.
Victor and Karen both looked behind the counter to see a man in about his fifties. He wore a pair of glasses and a red and yellow striped shirt with baggy jeans. On top of him being old, he was bald. The man smiled down at them as he climbed out from the back and made his way to the front.
"I see you've taken a liking to my challenge." The man named Michale said. Both Karen and Victor rose their eyebrows.
Challenge?
Seeing the confusion on their faces, he grumbled to himself and pointed at a small colorfully decorated chalkboard sitting beside the hotdog in the corner.
'CAN YOU TAME THE DOG? Test yourself by eating the full power of two pounds of bread, seven pounds of meat and a pound of our patented chile under 30 minutes! Win the challenge and you get a free T- shirt saying that you have overcomed the Dog and a picture of you on the board of champions! Do you have what it takes to tame the dog?'
"The dog?" Karen blurted out after reading the sign. Michaela nodded his head vigorously.
"Yup! Our hot dog is a giant, and only the best can tame him! So big boy, wanna see if you have what it takes to tame the dog?" Michaela mischievously asked pointing at Victor.
Victor grinned. "Hell yeah! I can take that dog down easily!"
"Oh no you don't! Your going to get sick eating all of this damn junk food! " Karen objected sternly. Victor looked at his girlfriend with a pout, but she wasn't buying it. He crossed his arms and let out a huff.
"Damn stubborn, girl."
"What was that?"
"Uh- I said, Damn beautiful girl." Victor quickly changed. Karen smirked and gave her boyfriend a quick kiss on the cheek making him flush a bright red.
"It's fine that you can't eat the hotdog. I would ask your lady, but most females don't stand a chance." Michaela stated with a smirk.
Karen stopped smiling and turned with cold eyes to Michaela.
"Well, I'm not like most females." Karen retorted. Michaela's smirk doubled.
"On the contrary, a thin radiant figure such as yourself, could not possibly be able to devour one of my hotdogs." Michaela ranted. Karen felt steam come out her ears
"Ha! There's not a man in the world that can tell me what to do!"
"Oh really now?" Michaela mused. Karen felt the fire in her eyes grow more ablaze.
"Your damn straight! I'm eating one of those monstrosities you call a challenge, and I'm going to win it!"
Michaela grinned widely at her and began to usher Karen to a picnic blanket covered table. She huffed at him and took a seat as Michaela ran to the back and began to prepare Karen's 'challenge'. Victor sweat dropped at his girlfriend. What was she doing?
Victor looked at his girlfriend uneasily. "Uh- um, baby, are you sure you want to do this?"
"Hell yeah I want to do this." Karen grunted. "Most females can't do this, my ass..."
Suddenly, a ten pound Chile dog was placed in front of Karen. Karen, who was surprised by the massive amount of food, squealed in shock. Looking up at Michaela, Karen saw he held a large grin while Victor wore a nervous smile and encouraged her with a thumbs up. Just as Karen was about to dig in, Michaela ran to the counter and brought out a large golden bell, on which he rung loudly gaining near by attention.
"Ladies and gentlemen!" Michaela bellowed. "We have a challenger! I repeat, we have a challenger! Come down and watch, to see if Karen can devour the dog in time! Will she be victorious?! Come and find out!"
Several people- most likely interested in watching somebody consume so much food- began to watch and create a small crowd. Karen gulped in nervousness, as she stared at the large proportion in front of her.
"Don't worry Bee, you've got this!" Victor encouraged. Karen gave a sheepish smile, before a timer was placed in front of her, startling Karen.
"You've got 30 minutes! The plate has to be clean, and you can request a glass of water anytime." Michaela explained. Karen gave a brief nod before she focused her eyes on the food in front of her.
"Ready... Set... EAT!"
Karen grabbed the hot dog and literally almost inhaled the thing. She was definitely not going to lose to a challenge. By the time 30 minutes had passed, Karen stood confidently with a chile covered smile and an empty plate.
"Congratulations Karen! You've just become the first woman who has conquered the dog! How do you feel right now?" Michaela asked in excitement. Karen released a loud belch making some of the audience members wrinkle their noses in disgust. Ew...
"I feel like I need to work these ten pounds off of me as soon as possible." Karen muttered waddling to the counter to claim her shirt. It was a large white T- shirt that held a spartan standing on top of a defeated hotdog with a spear in hand. At the top of the shirt, it said: 'I've conquered the dog!'
Victor ran excitedly to his girlfriend and picked her up, making her squeal.
"You did it babe! You conquered the dog!" Victor congratulated. Karen giggled at him, and slapped his chest playfully.
"Of course I defeated the challenge. I'm the most stubborn girl in the world, remember?" Karen recalled, making Victor flush.
"I- uh..."
"I'm just teasing ya sparky. C'mon, let's go take a picture to celebrate!"
Victor took Karen's hand in his own, and began to walk to a near by photo booth. Karen wore a beaming smile on her face, while Victor couldn't stop thinking about how his girlfriend was simply one of a kind. Approaching the booth, Victor smiled at Karen and gently slid the curtain open to the photo booth, before he quickly shut it and backed away with a face so red that it could rival a tomatoes.
"What's wrong? Is somebody in there or something?" Karen asked a bit concerned. Victor, covered his mouth in shock and simply pointed to the curtain.
Karen, curious to the whole situation, opened the curtain slightly just to peek inside where her jaw dropped at the sight. Inside lied an oblivious Kori and Dick in a heated makeout session. When Kori released a moan and Dick pressed her further against the wall, Karen quickly dispatched the booth and wore a large smirk.
"What's wrong with you? Why are you smiling like that?" Victor asked. Karen simply trotted off with a slight laugh.
"Told ya that they just needed to makeout already!"
. . .
Time was at a stand still and every little noise was blurred out. Fireworks seemed to be going off and the feeling of being on top of the world with total elation seemed to be what they were both feeling at this moment.
Dick always wondered to himself how Kori's lips would feel against his own. Sure, he knew they would feel great, but this feeling was just indescribable. Her lips were just so soft, and the touch of them on his own made him feel invincible. The best he could describe it was him kissing an angel.
Losing breath, they both pulled away from the kiss and pressed their foreheads together with grins splashed across their faces. Gazing into each others eyes, sapphires met emeralds.
"Wow." Dick breathed with a slight pant.
"Agreed." Kori mummered still feeling that tingly feeling on her lips.
"So, uh- how did that feel for you?" Dick questioned a bit nervous. He was just praying that the experience of pure elation that he felt was mutual.
Kori, still dizzy from his kiss, giggled. "Amazing."
Dick broadly grinned at her response and leaned in to lay a light kiss on Kori's lips.
"So I'm guessing I'm out of the friend zone, huh?" Dick joked.
Kori giggled at him, before a rather disappointing thought popped into her mind.
"Yeah, but what does this mean for us?" Kori asked. Dick quirked an eyebrow.
"What about us?"
"Richard, please be honest with me. Was this... Kiss, a mistake?" Kori asked a bit nervously. She really hoped he would say no. Her heart couldn't handle it if he was suddenly using his playboy motives on her. She loved him for his heart, not to what was inside his pants. At the question, Dick's eyes hardened and he backed away from Kori making her chew her lip in nervousness.
"Are you regretting it?"
"No, no! Just- your not exactly the type of guy who sticks around with just one girl Richard. Your a-"
"A playboy?"
"Yeah that." Kori confirmed. Dick released a sigh and leaned back against the wall. Rubbing a hand through his hair, he locked eyes on Kori.
"To be honest, those girls mean nothing to me. Sure, they have pretty faces, but that's all they are to me. Just another pretty face. You on the other hand Kori, are beautiful in every inconceivable way. Your gorgeous on the outside and the inside. You have always been there for me, even when I wasn't for you. I know I've broken a lot of promises that I've committed to you, but let me say I won't break this one." Dick said with his eyes full of honesty. Kori was staring at him in curiosity and complete awe at the moment.
"What promise?"
Dick grinned at her, and took her hands in his own. "Kori Anders, my shining Star. I solemnly promise to you my heart and soul. Sure, you're my best friend, but I want us to be something more. I want to be able to trust you with my heart and hopefully you will trust me with yours. I promise to you that I will keep your heart safe with me and it will always be loved. It's weird how I've actually loved you for so long, but I guess it just took me long to find out. Better late then never, right? Anyways, will you please be my, um my...girlfriend?" Dick stuttered blushing a beet red. Kori gasped at him, her bottle green eyes welling up with tears.
"Robin..."
"Is that a yes? Cause I really want to kiss you again."
Kori giggled at him. Grabbing the side of his face, she pulled him into a searing kiss on which he eagerly returned. Running his hands up and down her back, he pulled her closer to him. He just couldn't get enough of her.
Pulling away from him, Kori grinned at his cute face. "Yes. Of course I'll be your girlfriend my little robin."
Dick grinned a beaming smile at his new girlfriend and thought to himself how Alfred would be ecstatic about the news. Dick knew that the butler was rooting for him and her to get together, so he automatically assumed that Alfred was going to prepare his classic apple pie claiming that this was an occasion worth celebrating.
"I'm glad that you said yes. I was worried I wouldn't be able to do this anymore." Dick began with a mischievous smirk.
"Do wha-" Kori was quickly cut off by Richard's lips crashing onto her own. She released a content sigh and wrapped her slim arms around his neck eagerly returning the kiss with more passion.
Not even caring about anything outside the booth, the two love birds continued to makeout in the photo booth. Both extremely happy.
. . .
"Yes! Told you I would win you a prize."
Gar eagerly grasped the large chicken from the clerk behind the counter and proudly handed it to Rachel. She timidly took it into her hands and stared at the thing with a mixed face wondering what on earth she could possibly do with the thing. Pulling it closer to her, the large toy squawked.
"A giant chicken. I must be the luckiest girl in the world." Rachel said sarcastically with a roll of her eys.
Gar was too happy to even care. As soon as the group had split up, he had ran to a ring tossing booth to win Rachel a prize. She had rejected at first, but seeing his determined face made her wonder if he could possibly do it. After about ten dollars and twenty minutes wasted, he had finally accomplished his goal of winning Rachel a prize.
"Okay, I did what I what I wanted to do, so now you pick where we go next." Gar suggested. Rachel was surprised by Gar's kindness and wondered to herself on what happened to the immature freshman. He was very generous at the moment, picking his turn to try and win her a prize then offering her a turn then rather complaining. She was quite impressed.
"Um- how about we go to the haunted mansion?" Rachel offered. Gar shrugged at her and gave her his signature toothy grin.
"Sure. C'mon." Gar exclaimed grabbing her hand. Rachel blushed a deep red and wondered to herself on why she felt butterflies in her stomach. What was going on?
Stopping at the front of the haunted mansion, Gar released a low whistle.
"Pretty big place." Gar admired. Rachel snorted.
"It is a mansion."
The mansion was broken down and bared broken windows. The shattered glass pieces laid about the untreated lawn filled with gravestones and the mansion itself was in worse condition. The mansion was covered in moss and overran weeds while the building itself was a dark grey with peeling paint. Yup, pretty scary.
"BOO!"
Gar shrieked at the random outburst to see the supposed,'tour guide' of the mansion covered in despairing makeup making him look like an old man dying. Rachel blinked at the actor and rolled her eyes to which Gar noticed and quickly shook off the goose bumps he was getting. If Rachel could be brave, then so could he!
"Alright my brave souls, we are about to enter the mansion! Anybody who still wishes to see the light of day, must turn back now! You have been warned..." The tour guide said before cackling evilly. Rachel rolled her eyes yet again, as Gar gulped. Oh boy...
Entering the mansion, you immediately saw a stair case. Old shelfs filled with even older books were pressed against the walls while other old furniture such as a grand father clock, couches, and tables with lamps littered the place. There were portraits of old people in the dark cold room, and in the distant in possibly a far off room, an old radio played eerie music.
"Here, we stand in the den of the Whitehead family. In 1957, Mary Whitehead, the youngest daughter was brutally murdered in this exact room. Rumor has it, that she was caught cheating on her husband and he took out his ferocity by stabbing her 16 times." The tour guide informed calmly. Some people began to whisper amongst the crowd before a loud blood curdling scream echoed throughout the mansion. Gar let out a small shriek, while Rachel jumped at the sudden noise.
Continuing on with the tour, the mansion was shown off in a similar fashion. Some people dressed as the family members in the portraits jumped out and scared people while screams and yelps were heard from far away or near by. The tour guide continued to give off history of the house claiming that seven people were murdered here, and some people were even tortured.
Rachel was suddenly approached by a man covered in blood who supposedly had had an accident. One of the rules of the mansion's actors were that they couldn't touch any of the tour group members. All that the actors were supposed to do was scare from afar, but never lay a finger on any of them. This man wrapped an arm around Rachel's neck making the girl go in a stunned fear like state. Obviously, Gar did not like the contact so he punched the man roughly in the jaw making him release his grip.
"Young man! Violence is not permitted on the tour! Please find the closest exit immediately!" An employee scolded. Gar rolled his eyes, but nodded anyways dragging Rachel along.
After escaping the mansion, Gar looked at Rachel timidly. "I'm sorry I got us kicked out."
"Uh- it's fine Gar. It wasn't that good anyways..." Rachel assured with a dismissive tone.
"Are you sure? Are you okay? Did that guy hurt you?" Gar rambled on. Rachel let out a small smile seeing that Gar was worried about her.
"Gar, I'm fine. It's okay really, and no that guy didn't hurt me. Thanks to you..." Rachel mumbled with a blush. Gar felt himself blush as well.
"Uh- it was n-no problem." Gar stuttered. Rachel smiled again.
"Yeah, my hero." Rachel droned sarcastically with a slight laugh. Gar grinned at that last statement and kissed her cheek making that cursed blush grace her pale face.
"W-what was that for?" Rachel mumbled trying to keep her cool façade. Gar grinned and placed his arm around her shoulder.
"In all the movies I've seen dude, the hero always deserves a kiss from the girl." Gar retorted. Rachel smirked at that and pulled Gar into a quick kiss on the lips leaving him stunned.
"Aren't the kisses usually there?" Rachel questioned with a smirk. Gar grinned in a goofy fashion and pulled her into another kiss.
"Yup! I'm guessing right now I'm the hero of my life." Gar beamed, wrapping an arm around Rachel's shoulder. Rachel gave a soft smile.
"And why is that?" Rachel inquired to Gar who's grin grew wider.
Pulling Rachel closer to him and laying a kiss on her temple, he honestly replied, "Because heroes always get the girl of their dreams."
. . .
"She's beauty! She's grace! She'll punch you in the face! It's Artemis!"
"Wally, I sware I will throw this dart at you if you don't shut up." Artemis groaned. Wally simply grinned and turned to Roy who had recently joined Wally and Artemis with Jade.
"He's big! He's bad! He's our favorite redhead! It's Roy!" Wally announced making Roy hiss at him. Jade and Wally began to laugh at the two concentrated archers.
Currently, Artemis and Roy were having a competition on who the better archer was. Roy, Artemis, Wally and Jade were at a dart throwing booth that required you to throw darts at a wall full of balloons. Whoever hit the most balloons out of Roy and Artemis was to be declared the best archer by Wally himself.
"And now, I shall announce the prize of this glorious competition!" Wally claimed dramatically. After exchanging a few words with Jade and the lady behind the counter, Wally soon held up a large bright green neon teddy bear.
"Isin't glorious suppose to be Kori's word?" Artemis asked. Wally scoffed at her.
"This is America, and I'm free to say what I want!" Wally retorted.
"What does America have to do with you, using Kori's word?" Jade questioned making Wally groan.
"Cause I'm a patriot! I'm so American that every time I get laid a bald eagle is born!" Wally claimed. Roy smirked at him.
"Is that why they're endangered?"
Wally glared at the laughing redhead and roughly tossed the large plush toy at Roy making him stumble.
"Shut up and aim straight before Artemis kicks your ass!" Wally screamed. Artemis laughed at that.
"Too late for that." Artemis said confidently, throwing a dart and popping a balloon. Roy closed his agape mouth and took a deep breath before letting the dart fly and popping a balloon.
"Okay! The score is currently tied!" Wally said in an anchorman like fashion. Jade chuckled at him and began to speak in a similar fashion.
"Yes Mr. West, at the moment, out two competitors are tied, 1 to 1. At this point of the challenge, it is very crucial to make sure you have precise precision. One wrong move, and it could be all over." Jade joked. Wally and Jade began to laugh hysterically at the other as the two archers glared at them. Finally realizing their frustrations, Jade covered a still laughing Wally's mouth and covered her own to stop the muffle giggling.
Artemis rolled her eyes at the two chuckling teenagers and looked back at the wall. Aiming at a balloon the color of Wally's hair, the balloon popped at the sudden contact of the dart.
"Your move carrot top." Artemis slyly stated. Roy scoffed at her and stuck his tongue out.
"Watch and learn blondey." Roy remarked, throwing the dart and it popping two balloons.
"Ooh! Burn!" Wally and Jade yelled simultaneously at the steaming Artemis.
"Oh yeah? Watch this!"
Roy was chuckling when the sound of not one, not two, but three balloons popping reached his ears. His eyes widened at the smirking Artemis and he silently growled.
"Beat that."
"Damn! Artemis got you on check Roy!" Wally exclaimed with a giggling Jade. Roy huffed at him and calmly threw another dart making a ballon pop.
"Alright ladies and gentlemen, let's go to Jade for the score." Wally anchored nudging Jade. Jade smiled.
"Yes, our very own Roy and Artemis have gone above and beyond in the competition. Roy stands with the score of 4 and Artemis with a score of...5!" Jade exclaimed making Artemis smirk at Roy. Roy glared at the fellow blonde and picked up another dart.
"Alright blondey, I hope you know I won't go easy on you anymore." Roy declared making Artemis roll her eyes.
"Good. Then neither will I."
"Alright, with the score of 4 to 5, the competitions have seven more darts to fire. Whoever has the most popped balloons, wins!" Wally announced.
Darts here, darts there, and nothing, but the sound of popping rung. Jade and Wally were so lost in who was throwing darts, that they almost forgot to count targets. As soon as Jade had seen the final dart be tossed, she whistled loudly making the two archers look at her.
"Okay, hands down! It's time to see who won this thing."
Wally ran to the woman at the counter and asked her to count which balloons were hit by whom. She nodded, and began counting, as the redhead waited patiently while trying to ignore the bickering from the two archers behind him. Finally getting a response, Wally grinned ear to ear and skipped back to the two competitive friends.
"And the results are in! Roy, you end with a score of 14! Artemis, you end with a score of...16! Congratulations Artemis, how do you feel?" Wally asked shoving an imaginary microphone in her face. She smacked his hand away and smiled.
"I feel good baywatch." Artemis responded cooly. As Roy grumbled about Artemis being lucky to Jade, Wally rose an eyebrow.
"Baywatch?"
Artemis grinned at him and gave him a hug, on which he blushed."Yeah, baywatch. I know you'll always be there for me, and you'll always have my back. I know I can trust you, so I'm going to call you baywatch."
"Oh. I kinda got my hopes high thinking it was a short version of you calling me your babe." Wally joked. Artemis smacked his shoulder in a joking manner making him laugh.
"Whatever West, whatever."
. . .
"Don't you have enough goldfish already Garth? This is like, your fifth one."
"Shut up Connor, I'm concentrating!"
Connor rolled his blue eyes at Garth, who was currently throwing a Ping pong into a small bowl. When the group had split up, Garth had sighted a game that sparked his interests. It was a simple game where you tossed a ping pong into one of the many tiny fish bowls that littered the table from afar. If you got the Ping pong into a bowl, you won a gold fish.
Connor grumbled to himself as Garth gave a hoot of victory when he claimed another gold fish.
"Yeah! Hey Connor, what should I name this one?" Garth asked holding up a bright orange fish.
"How about, I don't care." Connor suggested. Garth frowned at him.
"Whatever. So what do you want to do now Connor? Connor? Um- Connor?"
Connor payed no attention to Garth calling his name as he focused on a sight in front of him. Right before his very own eyes stood Meagan Morse. His ex-girlfriend. What really twisted the dagger in his chest was that she was with her new boyfriend Logan.
Megan was a short girl with straight brownish red hair and freckles. She had a nice skin tone and was pretty thin with brown eyes. Logan was a tall boy who was a dark tan and had piercing brown eyes with black hair. Logan had his arm wrapped around Megan's shoulder while she giggled at something he had said and chewed on a clump of cotton candy.
"Oh shit, I can't let her see me like this!" Connor exclaimed, beginning to panic. Garth quirked an eyebrow at him.
"Like what?"
Connor turned to Garth and held up the bag of goldfish." Like this! Some single guy winning goldfish! It's like I'm a fish guy instead of a cat lady!"
"Woah, calm down. Why don't you pretend that you have a hot girlfriend. Then you can make that girl over there jealous." Garth suggested understanding why Connor was panicking.
"Where am I suppose to find a hot girl that would agree to do this with me?!" Connor asked. Then right at that moment, Kori walked by with Dick making a light bulb appear above both of Garth's and Conner's heads.
"Kori!" Connor called running over to the new couple. He didn't even wait for her to respond. He yanked her away from Dick making him raise an eyebrow, but just as Dick was about to open his mouth to object, Garth was beginning to explain the situation.
"Kori, I need you to pretend to be my girlfriend so I can make my ex jealous." Connor pleaded. Kori seemed hesitant at first, but she shrugged.
"I guess so. Where is she anyways?" Kori asked. Connor looked up and scanned the area around the park to see Megan and Logan at a test your strength game. Connor grinned and practically dragged Kori to the station.
The game was simple. It was similar to a tower and at the top, there was a bell. There was a target that you smashed with a hammer and if you hit the target with an impressive strength, you won a prize.
Connor wrapped an arm around Kori's shoulder as she snuggled into his chest with a smile.
"This is really awkward". Kori whispered. Connor gave a nervous laugh as the two walked towards Megan and Logan.
"Act like I just said something hilarious." Connor mumbled. Kori nodded briefly before she let out a loud melodic giggle making Connor join her with his own laughter.
"Oh Connor, you're so funny!" Kori exclaimed making him grin.
"Only for you pumpkin." Connor replied making Kori release a real laugh.
"Pumpkin? Really?" Kori whispered. Connor shrugged.
"Well we have to sell it, right honey buns?" Connor joked. Kori snorted.
"Of course babe." Kori remarked.
Walking closer to the couple, Kori laughed loudly making Megan and Logan look at her.
"Oh, Connor can you win me a prize? Please!" Kori begged. Connor- who pretended to not notice the agaped mouths of Logan and Megan- smirked.
"Of course angel cakes." Connor assured. Kori grinned and lightly kissed him on the cheek.
"Yay! Have I ever told you that I love you Connor?" Kori said, batting her eyelashes. Connor chuckled lightly.
"Of course you have. I look forward to you saying that every single day."
"Connor? Um- is that you?"
Connor pulled Kori closer to him, and turned to see a timid Megan and an impressed Logan.
"Oh, hey Megan." Connor greeted cooly. Megan smiled.
"It is you! You look great! And, um- who is this?" Megan asked nervously.
"Yeah Connor, who is she?" Logan persisted running his eyes all over Kori's beautiful figure.
Connor smirked. "Well Logan and Megan, this is my girlfriend Kori."
"Girlfriend?!" Megan squeaked while Logan went wide eyed.
"No way you can get a girl that hot." Logan blurted out loud. He quickly pressed his lips in a thin line when he received threes glares.
"Yes, I'm Connor's girlfriend. I'm just the luckiest girl in the world to have a guy so sweet and compassionate and handsome." Kori purred. Connor grinned at her and pulled her closer.
"I love you my shinning star." Connor said. Kori giggled at him.
"And I love you, my Superboy."
"Well, it was nice seeing you again, but uh- we should go." Megan rambled making a still in tranced Logan raise an eyebrow. Removing his hungry gaze on Kori, he questioned her.
"Go? But we just got here."
"C'mon Logan, we have to go do that thing we forgot." Megan lied dragging him away.
Both Kori and Connor separated from each other when they saw Megan and Logan's figures fade away. They took one look at each other before bursting into laughter.
"Wow, great acting!" Connor laughed with tears of mirth. Kori held her stomach in pain.
"Oh X'hal! Angel cake? Pumpkin? Shining star?! Connor, we are a force to be reckon with." Kori joked. Connor chuckled more.
"Mmm-hmm. Thanks for pretending to be my girlfriend Kori. You're a real friend."
"It's fine Connor. I'm glad I could help. Now how about we get the gang back together and ride that new roller coaster over there?" Kori suggested. Connor grinned at her.
"Yeah, let's go spend the rest of the day at the carnival with our family."
