Chapter 18: Drama mama

Hell to the no.

All fucking night she seethed to herself as she watched all of them have fun. They didn't deserve all of the joy and laughter they were having. No, not when she was here.

Kitten growled rather loudly as she watched Karen and Victor sway to the music. The king and 'queen' dance. Yeah, bullshit. She was Kitten Moth and she was supposed to be homecoming queen!

"Um, Kitten! You're holding onto my hand too tight now! Please let go!"

Kitten released one more hiss and slowly unlatched her claws off of Mandy. All of Kitten's goons were gathered around their leader watching the dance floor. Of course pink being the most prettiest color, all girls wore it.

Kitten's dress being glitter pink though. You have to show your dominance with a little sparkle, right?

"Um, Kitten?" Britney timidly began. Kitten turned to the blonde with a raised eyebrow.

"Kitten, are you ok with not being the homecoming queen?"

"Fuck no!" Kitten screeched, scaring all surrounding guests in the sudden intensity in her voice. She pointed a well manicured finger at Karen and Victor, "I was supposed to be homecoming queen! ME! I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE! But here we have some slut wearing my tiara!"

Kitten stomped her right heel and pointed another finger at Wally and Artemis who sat with Connor, Jenn, and Garth laughing. "All of those nincompoops over there think they're so cool because I haven't pointed out all of their flaws. I need to dig deep with them and find out all the lies they're trying to hide!"

"Woah, Kitten maybe you're being a little-"

"I'm NOT finished so don't interrupt me Mandy!" Kitten snapped. The angry blonde turned to Kori and Dick next who were sitting at the stage steps leaning against eachother and slowly rocking to music. "Kori and Dickie-poo think it's so cute to be the perfect couple! I just need to find some dirt to keep those two apart and then I can have Dick all to myself! No Kori ever again. By the time I'm done with all of them they'll never want to show up at this school again!"

"How are you going to find dirt for them? They're all pretty nice." Britney commented. Kitten rolled her baby blue eyes.

"You have to dig deep to find out what's up with them. C'mon girls, we're going to finish this night off with a little snooping..."

Mandy and Britney both looked at each other with a contorted face. Neither of them had no idea what Kitten was up to, but both knew it wasn't a good thing if she was in one of her tantrum moods. A mad Kitten was a scary Kitten.

. . .

"I need to go the bathroom Star. I'll be back in a second." Dick promised as he stood from the stage steps. He wiped his pants a bit before walking across the dance floor to reach the bathroom. Kori stared longingly across the room at him.

She felt so alive right now. Nothing could ruin this night. She was with her boyfriend, she was surrounded by her friends, she was loving everything about this day. Nothing bad, and nothing dramatic.

After a few minutes of sitting alone, she sighed. It didn't take long to get Kori bored.

Suddenly, a chill crawled up her spine when she heard a deep raspy whisper in her ear. "Hello cutie."

Kori nearly jumped to the ceiling as she glared at Xavier and clutched her chest. "Xavier! I nearly had a heart attack! Oh X'hal..."

"Sorry." Xavier chuckled. He slowly sat down beside her and leaned back. "I didn't mean to scare you princess. I was just wondering what you were doing by yourself out here."

"Oh." Kori acknowledged. "I'm not by myself. Richard just went to the restroom. He'll be back soon."

"Ah, so your boyfriend left his pretty lil girlfriend all alone at a dance. Not a smart choice if you ask me." Xavier informed with a fake sigh in disappointment. Kori shoved him with a giggle.

"Stop it! He's just in the bathroom!" She laughed. Xavier gave a goofy grin at her and stood up. He extended a hand at her and bowed foolishly.

"If it's alright with your almighty boyfriend, can I have a dance?" Xavier asked with a raised eyebrow and a smirk. Kori bit her lip and glanced at the restrooms.

"I suppose it wouldn't be a bad thing..." Kori mummered. She slowly placed her hand in his and the two walked hand in hand to the dance floor.

. . .

"Hit that guy with the red sweater!" Wally yelled enthusiastically.

"Ten bucks says he can't do it." Artemis suggested, whipping a ten dollar bill out and placing it on the table.

"Ten bucks says he can." Rachel countered with her own money being placed on the table.

"Ha! My girlfriend thinks I can do it so I know I've got this!" Gar shouted happily, fist pumping his right hand that held a sling shot.

Gar, Rachel, Artemis,Wally,Jenn, Connor, and Garth all sat at the large table continuing their game of slinging peanuts at people. If you hit your target : you won money. If you missed your target :you lost money.

Simple.

"Should we really be doing this?" Garth asked as Gar pulled back the rubber band. Jenn shrugged at him.

"Well if you want to get hit by the peanuts again, then..."

"Oh hell no! Gar fire away!" Garth interrupted with a shake of his head. Gar and Wally snickered at him.

"Here we have the wild Gar hunting it's prey with a sling shot and several peanuts." Wally broadcasted. Gar snickered at him and pulled back the rubber band. Wally continued, "Here we have a crucial moment in the hunt. The wild Gar has only one shot to hit it's prey and if he misses then the lad will go hungry tonight."

Gar snorted at him and released the rubber band making the peanut fly across the room. As it soared, Wally stood from the table and it all felt as if everything was in slow motion when the peanut bounced on the the target of the red sweater owner and slid into his shirt.

"IT'S GOOD!" Wally screamed. Gar stood up and began to dance ridiculously while Rachel smirked at a scowling Artemis and claimed twenty dollars.

Before long, Gar's victory dance was put at a hault when their 'target' stomped to the table.

"What the heck are you guys hitting me with?!" Yelled a very angry Craig Felix. Before anybody could answer, Wally and Gar beat them to it.

"DEEZ NUTS!"

Craig went wide eyed and red faced, Gar and Wally clutched their stomachs in pain at their own laughter, and Conner made the whole thing worse by yelling,"Ha! Got him!"

Now everyone at the table was dying in laughter. Craig soon realized his rage was to be ignored and fled the table in a wave of embarrassment. Gar leaned on Rachel, dying with tears of mirth escaping his eyes. Everybody was radiating immaturity, but none of them could care less.

"D-dudes!" Gar cried in between laughter. He pointed a shaky finger towards the bowl of nuts and laughed,"I'm so done with you Wally!"

"Me?" Wally claimed with a snort of laughter following. "I'm done with you!"

"I'm done with the both of you." Connor chuckled. The whole table erupted in laughter once again at the ridiculousness of the boys.

"Oh man." Jenn sighed with a light laugh. "I'm surprised that you guys haven't raided the buffet table yet."

"Excuse me. Back it up. Boop. Boop. Boop. Did I just hear buffet table?" Wally asked. All laughter was gone from his voice, but his eyes gleamed of a kid that just witnessed the toy aisle in a grocery store.

"Yeah, it's over there by the stage. They put the food out on the table after the king and queen announcements."

Wally was long gone before Jenn could finish her sentence. She blinked one second and she saw the track star across the room shoving mounds of butterfly shrimp into his mouth. Garth saw this too and turned a light shade of green along with Gar.

"Hey guys!"

Connor and everybody else looked over to see Dick jog towards the table with a worried face.

"Hey, have any of you guys seen Kori?"

"No." Rachel droned. "Last time I saw her she was with you by the stage."

Dick gave a frustrated growl,"I know, but she's gone now."

"Well, maybe she's outside or something. It's pretty hot in here with all these people crammed inside a gym." Artemis suggested. Dick clicked his tongue and nodded with a dash towards the doorway.

"She's not outside." Connor denied. Everyone glanced at him curiously.

"What?"

"She's on the dance floor with that guy Xavier. I can see her." Connor informed. Jenn jumped up and stretched her neck to see if she could make out Kori's figure in the large crowd.

"Where? I can't see her!" Jenn pestered, poking him in the shoulder to coax an answer out of him. He glared at her hand and smacked it away with a grunt.

"She's beside the big guy with the green tie."

"Which one?" Rachel asked.

"The one that looks like boogers?" Gar added with a raised eyebrow. Connor sighed at him and nodded.

"Yes, the one that looks like boogers."

"Ohhhhh...dude! Now I see her!" Gar exclaimed excitedly.

Amongst the dance floor, Kori and Xavier swirled in a pale teal lighting swaying to the slow song playing. She spun gracefully and looked like a blooming flower, while he, Xavier clobbered a few steps, but managed to keep pace with her.

"Oooh, Dick isn't going to be happy about this." Gar observed loudly. Silently, nods were made.

"It doesn't matter if he doesn't like it." Rachel disagreed. She pointed back at Kori, "Kori's her own person and she can dance with who she pleases. They're just friends and Dick needs to stop being so protective over her. She's not a little girl."

"You're right." Garth agreed. "She's not a little girl, but Xavier is somebody she shouldn't be hanging out with. He's a criminal and rumors are floating around that he might be that Red X guy everyone's been talking about on the news."

"No way!" Jenn denied in shock and awe.

"Mmhmm." Garth confirmed. He leaned into the back of his chair,"All around school people have been saying that he's responsible for that warehouse being burnt down."

"Cool." Gar mummered to himself.

"Whatever. Either way it goes, if Dick sees this he's gonna think there's more to it then a simple dance." Artemis quipped up. Rachel sighed sadly as the blonde stood up ready to leave.

"HEY GUYS!"

Artemis glanced up to see Wally run towards the table with a mouth full of shrimp. His eyes were wide and wild and if he didn't look crazy enough, his hands were waving dramatically in the air.

Connor groaned,"What?"

"Dudes, I just saw Legs out there with Xavier!" Wally exclaimed. He pointed repeatedly to the two dancing and looked back at the table to await the shocked faces.

"Uh, yeah." Rachel replied nonchalantly,"We already know genius. While you were stuffing yourself silly, Connor pointed them out."

"He did?"

"Yup. Looks like this time I was faster then you West." Connor taunted with a smirk. Wally sneered at him with crossed arms, but quickly forgot about the act.

"What do we do? Should we get her?" Wally questioned.

"No. You go outside and distract Dick. He's out there looking for her and sooner or later he's going to find out she's not out there. Let Kori finish up her dance. I'm sure the songs almost over anyways." Rachel instructed. Wally gave a two finger salute and walked to the exit.

"You really think Wally can distract him? I'm sure he can annoy him, but making sure he stays in one place?" Connor asked. Rachel shrugged.

"It's whatever. He'll buy us a little more time until the songs over."

"Yeah or until disaster strikes and Kitten makes a scene." Gar grumbled.

"Hey...speaking of Kitten, has anyone seen the wicked witch of the west?" Garth asked.

Jenn huffed at him,"Pfft, who cares? As long as she's not bothering me then I'm good."

"Me too." Artemis agreed. "Out of sight, out of mind."

. . .

"Kitten! Are you sure this is a good idea?!"

"Oh shut up Mandy! Don't be such a baby!" Kitten teased.

All three girls stood inside the dark hallway of the left wing of the school attempting to break into the nurse's office. Kitten held a large crowbar in her slender hands while Britney and Mandy stood beside her as lookouts.

"Are you sure about this Kitten?" Britney prompted nervously. She gulped and looked around the silent walk way.

"Ugh, yes!" Kitten grunted. Finally, with an extra hard tug the door came loose.

The wooden door opened with an eerie creak and Mandy glanced back an fourth nervously. Silently, The three girls walked inside and closed the door softly.

"Mandy, go get the key from the desk." Kitten demanded. Mandy quickly turned the flashlight on her phone on and walked towards the desk.

"Why are we here again Kitten?" Britney asked for the umpteenth time. Kitten growled.

Idiots! She was surrounded by them!

"We're here to get Kori's little friends personal records." Kitten replied hastily.

"Psst! Kitten!" Mandy called. She shined the light to her other hand that held a gold chain. "I've got the keys."

"Give them to me! Hurry up before somebody comes in here!" Kitten ushered. Mandy quickly tossed the keys to Kitten.

"Okay, now I just have to find the..." Kitten soon trailed off as she came face to face with a medium sized filing cabinet beside the blue sink. She grinned wickedly and kneeled before it, opening the bottom drawer.

"Z, Y, X, W, V, U, T, oooh! S and R!" Kitten ogled, flipping through the two letters. She grinned as she pulled two particular folders out."Hello Rachel Roth and Victor Stone."

"Kitten! Somebody's coming!" Britney alarmed.

"Shit!" Kitten cursed. Turning to Mandy she began to give orders,"Put the chain back and lets take the key! We need to get this thing copied so we can get everybody else's folders."

Mandy quickly placed the chain back and Kitten closed the file cabinet. With this, Britney grabbed the crowbar and the three quickly ran out the room before they could be spotted.

Kitten's heels carried her all the way to the girls bathroom where the three breathed heavily. Kitten shook the rest of her exhausted attitude out of her system and glanced at the folders in her hand. She grinned to herself. This will teach those little pricks to make a fool out of Kitten Moth.

"Victor Stone." Kitten announced. She opened the file and began to read,"Physical is good, grades are good, home life is good, god dammit! This bastird has everything perfect!"

"Sorry Kitten." Mandy breathed heavily. She pointed a small finger towards Rachel's file. "Maybe there's something in Roth's personal records?"

"Yeah." Kitten grunted. She opened the file and began to read. Slow, but steadily, Kitten's baby blue eyes widened.

"Holy shit."

Britney glanced at Mandy and to a now jubilant Kitten. "What? Did you find anything?"

"Find anything?!" Kitten yelped. She grinned wickedly and closed Rachel's file. "I found the fucking jackpot."

. . .

"Thanks for the dance cutie." Xavier whispered softly in Kori's ear. She shuddered at his voice.

"It's no biggie. You're not that bad of a dancer."

"Pfft! That's the biggest lie I've ever heard." Xavier chuckled. Kori snorted at him and the two laughed.

"Well, I've got to go before your protective boyfriend sees me hanging out with you." Xavier joked. Kori stuck her bottom lip out and pouted.

"So soon? Why do you always have to leave all the time?" Kori asked. Xavier grinned at her and gave a two finger salute.

"I have some issues to deal with so I've got deal with them. See you later cutie. Oh! And twelve o'clock, your boy toy is heading your way!"

"My wha-"Kori turned around to see Dick scoop her up and swing her around. She giggled happily and was placed down with a kiss to the lips.

"Geez Star, I leave for a few minutes and you're gone!" Richard claimed with a smirk. Kori giggled at him and turned.

"Well I was dancing with-" Kori's words were cut off as she turned to see Xavier was no where in sight. She looked around the room, but the bad boy was gone.

"You okay Kori?"

"Hmm? Oh yes! I'm fine. Just a little dizzy I guess." Kori provided with a small smile. Richard took her hand and began to walk her to the table where the rest of their friends sat.

"Yo! Lil lady we were looking for you!" Victor boomed. Kori giggled at him seeing that his golden crown was inches away from falling off his head.

"Sorry. I was dancing."

"Well now that I'm done boogieing I want to go home."Karen said. She yawned afterwards and smacked her lips.

"Me too. My feet hurt from all this dancing." Jade agreed. Roy snorted at her.

"Imagine how my feet feel. They were the ones getting stepped on and-OW!"

Jade smirked to herself as she removed her foot from her boyfriend's throbbing one. Revenge was a bitch.

"Yeah, for the first time the Wall-Man is all partied out. I'm pooped." Wally yawned.

"Me too. I just want to take a nice long shower and go to sleep." Jenn added.

"Yeah we should all probably head out. I guess I'll see you guys Monday." Victor deemed. Karen yawned once more and nodded sleepily.

"Yeah, goodnight guys."

"Goodnight dudes."

"Night."

"The Wall-man and his woman are out. Deuces."

"Bye."

Goodbyes were made and everyone began to leave in their designated vehicles with happy thoughts. The night had been fun, but nobody was prepared for what awaited them Monday.

. . .

The sky was just beginning to brighten and the clouds from the dark night were starting to diminish. At the bus stop stood a groggy Wally and an irritated Conner.

"Where is everyone?!" Wally whined. Connor rolled his blue eyes and propped up the leaning redhead.

"They're all out. Vic's taking Gar and most of the girls to school, Roy's got Jade and Artemis, and Dick's got Kori."

"So it's just us?"

"Yup."

"...ugh... I'm so tired!"

Connor glared at Wally, "That's your fault. You were the one who wanted to try and finish your history project last minute."

"Well that's because it's history!" Wally retorted. "If it was science then I would have that done by the first day. Science is complex, but easily traceable to become one simple problem. "

Connor shook his head,"What about magic?"

"Pfft! Magic? There's no such thing as magic." Wally disagreed. Connor crossed his arms at him and quirked an eyebrow.

"Oh really? How would you explain somebody pulling a rabbit out of a hat?"

"That's easy!" Wally cried,"All it is is just a simple fold in the hat that blends in with the rest of the interior! You won't be able to see it far away, and if you're close then you can point out the folds!"

"But I like magic..."

Connor and Wally jumped at the new voice. It was definitely one that Wally never heard. Connor on the other hand, was frozen solid.

"And who the heck are you?" Wally asked, aiming his pointer finger at the girl and staring at her with squinted eyes. She giggled and extended her hand.

"My name's Megan. Megan Morse. What's your name?"

Wally knew the name was familiar, but he couldn't remember. Shaking her hand, he smiled,"The name's Wally West. Feel free to call me the Wall-man though."

Megan giggled at him and peered over his shoulder. That's when her brown eyes widened and a light blush flashed across her freckled cheeks.

"Connor? Is that you?"

Oh shit.

Connor turned around and with the best smile he could muster, he waved. "Hey Megan. Long time no see."

"Yeah! Last time I saw you was at the fair with your, um girlfriend."

"What girlfri-"Connor quickly covered Wally's mouth and smiled sheepishly at Megan.

"Yeah, my girlfriend. Besides that, what are you doing over here? Shouldn't you be in Metropolis?"

"Oh um, well my uncle John has a business trip here so I've got to go to school here for a little while." Megan confessed. Connor felt his eyes twitch and suddenly Wally realized who she was.

"OH SHIT! FUC-"

Before Wally could yell anything else, the loud bus hauled down the street and stopped. Wally quickly dashed to the back seat and Connor followed suit sitting with him. Megan stared at the two oddly and sat down in one of the front seats.

. . .

Wally ran as fast as he could to his locker where he would see Roy and Artemis. Sliding to a stop, he saw the two angry archers talking.

"Guys! Guys! You'll never believe what just happened!" Wally exclaimed. Roy slammed his locker shut and glared at him.

"What is it? I'm not in the fucking mood for jokes either, so it better be serious."

Wally paused at his intensity and looked to Artemis. "What's wrong with him?"

"You mean you don't know yet?" Artemis asked surprised. Wally shook his head and glanced around. There wasn't anything exciting besides people looking at their phones, texting, and gossiping.

"No...why is everyone on their phone though?"

Artemis sighed and pulled out her phone. Showing the screen to Wally, she groaned. "This is why everyone's on their phone..."

Wally glanced at the phone to see several social media sights with "Shocking news". Wally began to read the article.

'Big news at Jump City High! Big, bad sophomore Rachel Roth has been being abused by her dad for several months! How have we not figured this out? Well Rachel has been wearing makeup to cover all of her nasty bruises and marks! Gross! In other news, Roy Harper, successor of the Queen fortune has a baby on the way! I've recently discovered that Jade Nguyen is three months pregnant with the baby and Oliver Queen still has no clue about becoming a grandpa! Not for long!'

Wally looked from the phone to see Roy seething to himself and Artemis clenching her fists in anger.

"Who wrote this?" Wally asked, anger evident in his usual goofy tone.

"Kitten." Artemis growled.

"The dumb bitch posted this everywhere! Twitter! Facebook! Instagram! It's all over the school and if that's not enough, there's paparazzi surrounding Oliver's house!" Roy yelled. He slammed the locker with his fist making a dent.

"So everybody knows Jade's pregnant and Rachel was abused by her father?" Wally asked.

Artemis nodded,"The whole school, and thanks to Kitten, the world knows now."
