A/N: I am just really curious, what do you guys think about this fanfiction so far? Just a fair question to ask to my readers. Thank you to the readers who sent a review :) Cheered me up considerably.

Happy Valentine's Day to all of my readers. I am currently in LA with my girlfriend and her family. I hope you guys are enjoying the romantic holiday too :)

As Jack took a step into his house, he felt quite happy to find his living room lit despite of the late hour. He felt exhausted from the long day so he was pleasantly surprised just to know that there was someone was at his house- perhaps it was Elsa waiting for his return. It would be very nice if she was in fact waiting for him. If she wasn't, that was just as fine. It was much better than have nothing waiting for him at the end of the day.

Cautiously, the actor tiptoed into the bright room and smiled warmly to find his refined guest sleeping carelessly on the sofa with a stapled stack of paper loosely hanging by her thin fingertips. Jack quickly stepped towards where Elsa was peacefully resting as the paper slowly slipped out of her grasps and quickly caught the stapled paper.

His bright blue eyes gazed across the paper and realized that it wasn't an ordinary stack of paper. It was a script. On the first page, at the centre of the page, it lacked a title. However, it spelled:

Jack would have immediately placed the manuscript back, however one of the characters' names caught his eyes. He made sure that Elsa wasn't stirring before escaping to the kitchen. James Eugene Miles was the character he auditioned for tonight and it was a role he truly desired to play as a growing actor.

He casually brewed himself a relaxing cup of tea while leaning against the wall. He was shocked to learn that Elsa already earned herself a position in the new drama. He wasn't aware that she had interest in this particular field of work- but how would he?

They've recently become friends. No, the two of them were sitting on the borderline of friendship. They haven't done anything except work and the only reason why she was in his house was due to their unfortunate situation. Nevertheless, if he were to gain this role, he would be able to know her better as a professional actor and as a person. It would be such a thrill to be able to work with her. He'd seen her outstanding works before the Frozen fiasco, although her singing talents from the Disney works caused a shiver to slither throughout his body.

The prospect of working with her, made him excited already. The thought made him pray even more that he managed to earn the new role. Jack took the cup of steaming hot tea to the dining room and placed it next to the manuscript. Before he sat down to read the script, he quickly draped a thin blanket over Elsa so that she wouldn't get too cold.

He returned to the dining room and began to read and imaged to be 'James Eugene Miles'. To a start, he could imagine Elsa's soft voice say...

I knew of a man, an excellent man. He was the most incredible man I ever knew. He was physically and emotionally scarred. He had eyes that could pierce through anyone and uncover whatever secrets lurked in that person and a mind that was unparalleled and brilliant in its ways. He was also the biggest liar and a manipulative user. A man who used everyone like a chess piece. He was a man I loved and the man who died today... and this is how I met him.

Elsa stormed past several doctors and nurses who were busily doing their jobs. She called out to the blond woman who was wearing her dark green uniform and shouted, "Doctor Beckman!"

The doctor turned around with a sullen face and red, swollen eyes. Elsa met the young woman when her current, sole-living victim, James Eugene Miles, and his now deceased family members were quickly brought to this hospital in a critical state due to a horrific car accident. She was no doctor, but she was aware of their devastating situation.

Elsa was informed how Mr. Miles's wife, Rebecca Miles, broke most of her bones because she was sitting in the passenger seat. Hence, most of her body collected most of the impact when their car collided to an eight-wheeled truck. Rebecca Miles lost lots of blood, therefore her skin was deathly pale. A worse fate befell on Mr. Miles' poor 5 year old son, Riley Miles, who was securely strapped into his safety seat in the back of their car. When the truck twisted over and crushed the family car, the adults were lurched out of the car at the first collision, however Riley was found half-crushed. When the little boy was helicoptered to the hospital, his state was too horrific to describe. Yet, James Miles's condition was equally bad as his son's.

He was the victim of the collision impact while his flesh got torn by the broken shards of glass. Nobody knew how he managed to remain conscious throughout the chaos, yet when the truck driver called for emergency, the man found Mr. Miles' shattered body protecting his son's body. The father must have crawled over the blazing car and pulled his son's body away from further harm. It explained his gruesome second degree burns which licked across his frontal upper body.

It was miraculous how the three managed to survive their trip towards the hospital. It was the brilliant effort from the emergency dispatchers. Everyone managed to survive for several days, until a few days ago. According to the doctor, it wasn't a surprise that their health suddenly collapsed, it happened often to those who suffered that extant of harm to their body. However, today it was proven by the Head Pathologist during Mrs. Miles' and Riley Miles' autopsies that their cause of death weren't natural, but homicidal.

The pathologist discovered a fatal dosage of nicotine in Rebecca and Riley's bodies. Elsa was certain that Riley never smoked due to his age and because the pathologist found such a lethal amount of the chemical in the boy, she had a hunch that Mrs. Miles didn't smoke either. Although she had zero testimony to back up her theory. Nevertheless, homicide was homicide and because she was informed of the accident a few weeks ago, she was once again in charge of this case.

Elsa asked, "So how is Mr. Miles?"

Dr. Beckman faintly replied, "About James... he had a panic attack when he realized that his family went into critical shock. After he got sedated, he fell into a coma. My other colleagues and I believe that it was caused by his current health condition, plus the stress and repetitive trauma."

Elsa felt sick, and tried to remain professional as she asked, "Has any harm been done to Mr. Miles? We must give him protection in this state."

Dr. Beckman replied, "Yes, that day when his family members got murdered, he was taken out for medical wash. His burns are severe and his body must be cleansed every day, otherwise he may get infected. We are assuming that his burns will leave permanent scars too. When we came back to his family's private room, it was already in a state of chaos. When he became conscious of his family's conditions, he went berserk... Almost animalistic."

Elsa jotted everything the doctor said and demanded, "May I please go see Mr. Miles? He will be placed into immediate protection custody by my unit. I will get Detective Fanners and Hopkins to come and talk to the other doctors and nurses."

The doctor nodded her head and led her to the private room and Elsa was already bothered how vulnerable Mr. Miles was. There wasn't any nurses or doctors by his bedside after all he went through and that disturbed her greatly. It was also extremely upsetting to see Mr. Mile's unconscious state. His limbs were bandaged just like upper body.

Dr. Beckman whispered, "James burns must be treated again, but because he is one of my friends, I am not allowed to treat his wounds. I will send his nurse to come and redo the gauze and bandages... thanks for coming in today Head Detective Hudson."

Elsa nodded and said, "Thank you for co-operation. I will be taking charge of his protective custody today."

Before the exhausted doctor left the room, she smiled weakly and said, "Please talk to James. It may help him some way. It's never been scientifically proven, but perhaps it is helpful for his mind to hear someone talk to him."

Elsa held her breath and hesitantly said, "Of course."

The doctor finally left the room and the room felt hauntingly lonesome. Elsa sat next to Mr. Miles and she greeted, "Hello Mr. Miles. I'm Head Detective Hudson and I will be protecting you from now on... I'm sorry for what has happened to you and I vow to find the murderer who is responsible for your wife and child's deaths."

This is how I met James Eugene Miles and this is how we met. For 3 years I talked to him by the bedside and I felt that I've gotten close to him throughout those years as I started to address him by his first name.

SCENE.

Jack couldn't help, but wipe a tear out of his eyes as he read the script for the first time. To his surprise he heard Elsa's actual voice behind him say, "It's really sad isn't it?"

The actor slowly sighed and said, "Yes, it is... I am sorry that I read the script without permission. It's just that I auditioned for James' role today and I wanted to really get in touch with the character. I didn't get to see him conscious yet, but I still feel strongly connect to this character. Emotionally at least..."

Elsa smiled gently, "Really? I hope your audition went well... if you want we can practice with the script right now. It'd be a great help for me."

Jack smiled back, feeling more calmed by her presence and nodded. She sat next to him and he stared deeply into her pale, blue eyes while she began to say. "I knew of a man, an excellent man. He was the most incredible man I ever knew..."
