A/N: Prompt from flightlessbird-emu; actual Finchel romance. Thanks!

On their second date, Finn brought her a marigold. "I found it in my mom's garden," he explained, his free hand sliding along the side of his head as if he was nervous but didn't want to show it, "I thought it was pretty, so, so, here."

Accepting it, Rachel smiled. It didn't smell like much, but that wasn't what mattered. Setting the flower aside into the nearest glass easily filled with water, she took his hand. "Thank you."

Smiling back at her, relieved, Finn nodded.

On their fifth date, he brought her a rose, pink and just blooming. "Here," he announced with more confidence, his lips curved up, "Because you're just as beautiful."

A blush spread across Rachel's cheeks. "Thank you," she took the rose, breathing it in, smiling as it tickled her nose, "It's wonderful." Putting it into another glass of water, this time she easily laced their hands together.

About to say something, Finn, instead, smiled, nodded, and kissed her cheek.

On their eighth date, he brought her a lily, white and pure. "It can't compete with you," he grinned, cheeks dimpling, "But it has to try, right?" His fingers slid along hers as she took it, and he leaned in to kiss her.

Kissing him back, Rachel sighed, practically melting as the stem swung in her grip. "I, let me press it," she managed as she pulled back, barely able to look away from her boyfriend's face long enough to gently set it between the pages of her diary.

"That supposed to keep it for a while?" Following her, sliding his arms around her waist as she closed the diary, Finn pressed a kiss to her hair when she nodded, only moving back enough to offer her his hand as he tugged her out of her room. "C'mon," he beamed, clasping her hand tightly, smiling at her as if he never wanted to look away, "Let's see if we can last longer."
