" Adam … he-he is your baby "he stated quietly as he kept cracking , Aria yet was looking at him in absolute silent , she had no idea when she started crying as she felt her cheeks getting wet . Ezra ran a hand through his hair as he prepared himself from saying the next words
" is he mine too ?" he asked desperately as he was waiting for her to response , he was swallowing hard as the tears kept falling , he didn't even tried to stop them because he knew he would fail .
"yes" Aria whispered so quietly that it was almost inaudible for anyone to hear but she knew Ezra did.
Standing in the dark , Aria froze , she had no idea what to say or do , they only thing she witnessed was Ezra who was standing in front of her shocked , he couldn't speak , he couldn't think , in thirty seconds suddenly he became the father of a one year old boy , his mind was traveling everywhere , he had met his own son and he didn't even notice , how could he be so stupid .
He didn't even care about the tears were keep falling from his eyes , he just stood there with his eyes on the ground , he didn't know how to react , this was Malcolm's situation all over again with only different that Malcolm wasn't actually his son but Adam was , Aria also had tears in her eyes , she was waiting for any kinda reaction from Ezra . he ran a hand through his hair as he was walking around the roof furiously , he kept taking deep breath to prevent himself from having a panic attack , ever since he found out about his brain tumor he could simply lose his control and explode but not this time.
"Ezra … please say something" Aria pleaded him as he stood in his place and looked at her who was crying silently .
" wh-why didn't you tell me ?" he whispered as his voice was cracking , he didn't have enough strength to speak.
Aria remained silent , she didn't have a reasonable excuse that why she didn't tell him about his own kid .
" YOU LIED TO ME" he yelled angrily as Aria took a step back and made some distance between them .
" I didn't have a choice " she mumbled under her breath as Ezra looked at her surprisingly as he frowned while his eyes were widening
" you didn't have a choice ? you could say me when I met him yesterday ! … you could have told me when we talked about your accident ! … or the accident was another sick lies of yours too ?" he responded madly as Aria answered him back quickly
" no no I swear everything I told you was true ! –" Ezra cut her off as he scoffed
" yeah except for the part you forgot to mention that I have a son " Ezra said sadly as Aria burst in tears , she knew once he finds out things gonna be tough but she didn't think it would be this much .
" I'm sorry " Aria whispered as she was trying to wipe the tears with the back of her hand while Ezra was standing in front of her , biting his lip as he was trying to relax himself .
" I … I wanna see him " he spoke up several minutes later as Aria looked at him , she didn't know what to say but she didn't have a right to prevent him from seeing his own son .
" he is not here … he went back to rosewood yesterday " Aria explained quietly as he listened carefully , he rubbed his forehead before responding.
" fine … we'll go to rosewood … now " he ordered as Aria looked at him with hesitate , she didn't know what to say and she didn't think it was a good time for him to meet Adam when he was this angry but she knew she couldn't stop him .
" Ezra we can wait –"
" no I don't wanna wait … we're leaving now " he command as Aria simply nodded .
They both headed to the dorm so Aria could pack a few things as Ezra was preparing his own stuff . she wasn't expecting this at all .
As Aria was busy packing her stuff quickly she heard someone opening the door and came in as she turned around saw Spencer who was looking at her back . she easily noticed the tears in Aria's eyes as she got closer to her as Aria looked away , trying not to look weak in front of her friend but she knew it wasn't possible in her condition .
" what happened ?" Spencer asked as she saw her friend burst in tears while she hugged her quickly and stroke her back . Aria was sobbing nonstop .
" he … he found out " Aria mumbled as she held Spencer tight .
" I'm so sorry … what did he do ?"
"He … he got furious at me … for not telling him and … he wants to meet him , we're going back to Rosewood now " she responded as she left Spencer's embrace and zipped her suitcase .
" couldn't you guys wait a little ? I mean if you leave now you will get there in the middle of the night "
" I told him the same thing but he won't listen to me … I texted my mom and told her to keep Adam up until we get there " she answered as she picked up the suitcase and headed for the door .
" okay but call me when you get there " Spencer asked as Aria nodded with a weak smile and gave her friend one last hug .
After she reached to the front door she saw Ezra standing at his car while his back was pressing against the car door , he stared at the ground as his mind was traveling everywhere , Aria could tell he wasn't paying any attention as she approached the car and cleared her throat , Ezra took the hit and looked up at her as he took her suitcase from her and placed it in the car trunk .
Their ride was extremely quiet , Aria wanted to explain everything to him but she knew he was mad at her so he wouldn't probably listen to her .
He was driving quietly on the road as he bit his inner lip , he always does this whenever he gets nervous , he had no idea how he was going to face his son, sure he had experienced this before with Malcolm but this situation seemed new to him again .
Aria sighed and pressed her head to the car window as soon as she saw the Rosewood sing in the road , she noticed Ezra was anxious too as she felt his breath became heavier and heavier . after two years of being away he was finally back , he didn't feel good about this , he left the town in the worst possible condition , he never thought that he would be back in here again .
Driving slowly Ezra parked in front of Ella's house as he turned off the engine and looked outside , they've been on the road for 4 hours and they both surely were exhausted .Ezra glanced at his watch and saw it was already 1:30 am , a sad expression came and sat on his face as he thought that Adam might be sleeping right now .
Aria broke the silent in the car by opening the door and getting out of the car as she started walking towards her mother's house . tears falling from her eyes repeatedly but she didn't care , as she glanced her back and saw Ezra getting out of the car while he was waiting for her permission to come closer , she thought it would be the best for them if she talks to her mom first then she lets Ezra in .
Moments later after she rang the bell , her mom opened up the door as Aria came in and passed the yard to the front door , taking few deep breaths she finally encouraged herself to open the door as she witnessed her little boy sitting on his carriage as he was sucking his thumb , a happy expression sat on her face as she saw her son , on the other hand Adam who recognized his mother immediately after Aria's appearance started making happy noises as he was trying to move in his carriage so he can go to his mom .
Aria chuckled as she saw Adam's effort for her , she took a few steps as she knelt down on her knees so she would be in the same level as Adam was , she placed several kisses on his forehead as she wiped away tears .
"Aria?" she heard her mom calling out her name from her back as she stood up and walked to her mom , she hugged her tight as Ella responded by stroking her back and kissing her hair line .
" where's Ezra ?" she asked as they both pulled away while took a short look at Adam who was currently playing with his little toys , trying to figure out their shape .
" he's waiting outside " she simply replied as her mom sighed in sadness .
" well … I leave you two alone with your baby " she said as she grabbed her purse while Aria was looking at her confusingly .
"where are you going ?"
" umm… I'm going to the brew to Zack … you can have the whole place until tomorrow … don't worry " she notified as she walked out from the back door while Aria nodded .
She took another long breaths before walking out to tell Ezra to come in .
After she reached to the main door she saw Ezra standing outside as he was rubbing the back of his neck , Aria signed him as he took the hit and walked towards her , after stepping inside the yard Aria closed the door quietly , no words needed to exchange as they both walked to the front door , after Aria opened the door again she noticed that Ezra stopped walking as he was swallowing hard and looking at her with hesitate , eventually after a few seconds of struggling , he finally managed to walked closer as they both headed inside the house .
His eyes were glowing as he saw the little boy in front of him , he was speechless , wordless , he didn't know how to react , this was purely one of his greatest moments of his entire life as he saw baby Adam playing with his toys as the baby glanced up and looked at him curiously , tears of joy , happiness fell from his eyes as he saw how eager Adam was for him to come to him , he probably recognized him from yesterday when he was playing with him , without taking any steps … he gave Adam one of his best smiles as his heart was melting in his chest for this little boy , his son , his only son . Aria yet was standing behind Ezra as she was grinning from her baby's attraction towards his dad .
After seconds of looking Ezra finally dared himself and walked closer as he knelt down in front of Adam and watched him as Adam was growing impatient for him to hold and touch him , the sound of Adam's laughs filled the room as Ezra began talking to him.
" hey buddy …" he was beyond happy that he couldn't even finish his sentence . Ezra bit his bottom lip and looked at his tiny fingers which were approaching his face as Ezra gasped when he felt his cold fingers , brushing against his skin , he chuckled himself as he saw Adam trying to stick his fingers into Ezra's mouth , Aria yet let out a soft laugh as he saw the little boy's action . eventually Ezra realized he didn't need to talk to his son , he already knew his father , the closeness and attraction between them was extremely high .
Looking at his back , he saw Aria who was still standing on her feet as she was enjoying the view , he realized maybe she was right , maybe she was scared of telling him the truth or else she would never lied to him .
" can-can I hold him ?" Ezra asked her hopefully as she looked at him back with a smile .
" you don't need my permission Ezra … you're his father" she responded as she was holding back the tears , Ezra yet happily nodded as he turned around and hugged the baby as he set him free from his carriage while he sat him down on his lap as he supported him by keeping his hands on his sides , he placed a small kiss on the top of his head as he smelled the sweet scent of a baby shampoo from his soft delicate hair .
Adam who was happy that he was free from his carriage started chuckling as he was playing with his toys in Ezra's lap . Aria yet decided to leave father and son alone together for a few minutes as walked to the kitchen and poured herself a glass of wine , she really needed it but still , it didn't go bad as she thought it would , besides her fight with Ezra earlier that night , he seemed to be matched with Adam and the feelings were mutual for Adam too . even though he was only a year and five months … he could tell the difference between people .
In five minutes Ezra's life turned completely different , before tonight … he was a single guy who was diagnosed with brain tumor but now … he was a father of a one year old boy who seemed to be a lot like him .
He got back to reality As he was busy thinking about his life when he realized that Adam was sitting on his lap peacefully while he was looking at his father's face , in return Ezra gave him a sweetest smile that he had on his plate which made Adam laugh hysterically as he was holding Ezra's index finger with his tiny hand .tonight was truly Ezra's one of best nights and worst nights of his life .
After several minutes of playing with Adam he realized that Aria wasn't with them anymore , he looked around as he didn't see her . he looked down at his lap as he saw Adam sleeping quietly in his arms as he was sucking his thumb , a soft smile came across his face as he placed a chaste kiss on Adam's forehead .
" Daddy loves you Adam " he whispered in Adam's ear as he placed another soft kiss on his forehead and got up .he carried Adam to his crib in the room next to him as he closed the door , he walked out as he saw Aria sitting on the swing in the yard . he hesitate to go and join her but he knew that they needed to talk especially after everything that has happened in New York .
Aria on the other hand was lost in her thoughts , after all this time she finally managed to introduce his son to his amazing father , and before that she managed to win Ezra back again , she was grateful though , knowing that she doesn't have to hide Adam anymore , but she probably lost Ezra in the way . it's going to take a long time for him to trust her again , to believe her , or that's what she thought .
She was so busy thinking about her situation that she didn't even notice that Ezra walked to her and sat next to her on the swing , she didn't dare to look at him as she stared at the ground as she did so , Ezra yet was looking down for a few seconds before he took a deep breath and looked at her through his shoulder , Aria did notice his gaze on her but she didn't looked at him. eventually after staring at her for several minutes he gave up and looked away as they were both sitting in silence , the only voice that could be hear was the sound of the wind .
"first word ?"he asked few seconds later before he took a deep breath and looked at Aria who turned her face to see him , she knew what he was implying .
"gross" Aria stated as they both let out a soft chuckle .
" I was feeding him peas and then he spitted them and said his first word for the first time … then I realized that he was just like you ... you didn't like peas either " she continued as she was recreating the memory with a smile sitting across her lips as Ezra was listening to her , he smiled her back as they were both looking at each other .
"what about walking ? … can he walk?" he asked eagerly as he was willing to know every single detail of his child quickly .
" yeah he can … he started crawling when he was about five months old and then … he took his first steps when he was ten months along … we were all a bit shocked " she finished , remembering the night , it was her birthday and after blowing out her candles and share a cake with her family and friends suddenly Adam started walking in front her mom , it was purely one of the best nights of her life .
" was it hard … to give birth to him ?" he asked sincerely as she met his sky colored eyes again , she could drown into them .
" it was hard but it worth it , I was in coma for half a day because I lost a lot of blood " she finished wiping away her tears that she had no idea when started falling from her eyes , noticing her failed tries ,Ezra reached for her soft cheek and wiped away every single tears of hers with his thumb , he should be mad , he was mad but he couldn't stand the idea of seeing her breaking down like that .
" Aria why didn't you tell me ?" he whispered calmly as he kept brushing away her unstoppable tears .she couldn't handle it anymore and burst in tears and sobbed hysterically , he didn't bother stopping his own crying as he observed her .
"I'm sorry , I really am , I looked for you everywhere I could but eventually I thought maybe you didn't wanna be found … maybe you didn't want this ,us ,and I had to except that … but I didn't know you were doing this for me , I didn't " she explained between her sobs as her voice kept cracking , Ezra on the other hand couldn't blame her , he gave her a wrong expression by his disappearance .
"and then it became hard for me to search you because of the pregnancy but I swear Ezra I never wanted to hide him from you … I just needed to time to figure things out and – " she kept rambling as Ezra cut her off by pressing his pointer finger to her lips , she remain quiet as she stared at him sadly waiting for any kinda reaction .
" I get it … I just don't get why Ali never told you where I was " he mumbled under his breath but immediately cursed himself as he realized what he just said .
"wh-what?" she stated confused as her brows frowned and looked at Ezra in shocked for few moments .
"Ali knew where you were ? all this time ?" he sighed , by now he thought Ali would have told her the truth . taking a couple deep breaths , he finally replied .
He opened his mouth to talk but they both got distracted by the sound of the glass smashing from inside the house , they both shared a concerned looked before getting up and rushing inside , without thinking straight both of them headed to Adam's room , opening the door only to face emptiness inside the room as Adam was no where to be found , Aria started catching her breath as she felt a panic attack in , she looked around the room repeatedly but her son wasn't in there .
"where-where is Adam ?" she pleaded as her eyes got wet again and looked at Ezra desperately , he was no better than her .
Noticing a paper on the bed , Ezra walked towards the bed and grabbed the paper as he unfolded it and read it , he sighed in frustration and looked at Aria sadly .
" what a lovely family ! only one member is missing … again !now you have to watch your son pays for his parents' mistakes "

Who took Adam ? how did Ali know about Ezra being gone ? what's gonna happen when their world crash down.
