AN: Hello, everyone. I am currently on a short trip to meet my relatives, parents, and close family friends. It has been fairly well so far, but in all honesty, some moments have been quite difficult.. and at night, right before I go to bed, I would reread everyone's reviews in order to cheer myself into a much better mood. So I really wished to express my gratitude to you, my dear readers and fans, a big round of a thank you. Thank you for reading my new chapters, reviewing, just making me smile and feel happy for what I do and who I am. :) There is my long list to whom I owe my thanks at the bottom of the story.
You know so many of you reviewed for the drama idea. I think it's finally time to intertwine my two fanfictions [Truth is Indefinite] into this story. You will receive the actual "scene" in one part of the chapter and the actual "shootings" of the "scenes" in another section of the chapter. You'll see what I mean... and I quickly apologize for the long wait for the drama idea to begin! I sincerely hope that each of you enjoy it to the fullest.
It had been a few weeks since Jack's little party had occurred and much of the details remained secretive as only the invited and the single unwanted guest knew of the story. A lot of them never discussed the topic and returned to their lives- which included Jack and Elsa. However, they now sat in a room with other famous actors and actresses as they were fortunate enough to be selected as the new cast of the drama which yet did not have a proper title.
Nevertheless, the spacious room was fully packed and muffled coughs were the only sounds in the room. The lights lit brightly above everyone and they keenly stared at each other, knowing they would now be a team to create the new show, and politely smiling at each other if they recognized the person. Around the large, rectangular, wooden table sat the actors and actresses with their managers sitting directly next to them, and at the front of the room stood the directors, writers, designers, and crew members.
Before the director coughed and started to introduce herself, Jack softly smiled at the actress who sat across him and the blond actress returned the favour as they already discussed the news of working together. They kept their cool, professional façade although they internally grimaced as they immediately noted another actor whom they knew fairly intimately in a bad way. Then the director, who was well-known for her brilliant artistic work, rose from her seat and formally gave her introduction to the awaiting people, "Hello. My name is Alicia Kain and I would like to thank everyone to be available today. Today we are here to start a new program and to make it one of the best drama series in our industry. In order to fulfill our dreams, we were all carefully selected for this task. It would be an honour for myself and for everyone to work with each other. Fortunately, everything has now been formalized as the managers and the talents have signed his or her contract for the first season. So I would like everyone to introduce themselves and then we will be discussing the starting plans of this huge project."
The actress sitting to the right side of the director stood from her seat. Jack cocked his head in interest as she was a new talent whom he had not known of until today. She was fairly tall, he estimated that she was 5'6", and she was fairly attractive with her luscious, long, wavy, hazel hair hanging loosely past her shoulders. It would be interesting to work with her since he wasn't aware of her skills and she looked fairly young- perhaps 25 years old? In her high pitched voice, she calmly said "Hello. I am Amanda Malik and my role will be Detective Jane Gareau. It will be a pleasure to work with you all."
Jack quickly glanced at Elsa as he realized that the actress would work more closely next to his friend. It was most likely that Elsa would help the young actress grow during their work. Then an older looking man- probably around the age of 28- with short golden hair, started his introduction with his thick British accent, "I am Jasper Dagger and I will be playing Detective Simon Fanner. Let's work hard to make this a success."
Next in line, a man who Jack didn't like much, stood up and avoided eye contact with him before stating, "My name is Santino Miller. I will be the character Detective Nigel Carmons." Then Santino quickly sat back down and stared at the woman who most likely wanted to sit far away from him despite the pleasant smile plastered on her face. Instead of paying further attention to that man, Jack turned his eyes on Elsa, who stared back at him. He could tell that she was holding her breath as neither of them were aware that Santino would be working next to them.
On queue, she confidently stood and announced her position, "Hello. I am Elsa Menzel and I will be playing the role of Head Detective Melissa A. Hudson. This will most definitely be an interesting drama and I look forward to working with everyone." The end of his lips twitched slightly because he knew why she was stressing on the word interesting and he agreed with the statement. It would be an interesting challenge in many ways. It was a very suitable word, indeed. He already suspected that this new task would be difficult for her, but he had every confidence that she would succeed because she was a proud, noble even, as one of the best actress in the acting industry. There was no way she would make the error of mixing her personal feelings while working. Otherwise, how would she have completed her last Walt Disney film? Elsa would not have an issue in this project either, he trusted her and thus, felt eased even if Santino was going to be part of the new drama series.
The next actress was a woman whom Jack had seen a few movies and he was mildly surprised to see her in the group for the actress only played roles for movies. She was a seasoned actress, as he was aware that she started acting around the same time his sister- maybe they knew each other too. He quickly surmised that she had seniority over him and yet here she was and she smiled before the group. She introduced herself cheerfully, "My name is Erica Tanner and I will be the Dean of Medicine, Lisa Hopkins." As she sat back down, a lock of her black, curly hair slipped from the back of her ear and she quickly tucked it back, then smiled again. Maybe, he would go talk to her afterwards since the woman was in the same group as him as a doctor in the drama.
Unlike Erica Tanner, the next person in line wore a very serious expression and Jack guessed that the actor was around the same age as him. In a loud voice, he announced, "I am Mark Omar and my role will be that of Doctor Henry D. Epps." As quickly as the man rose from his chair, he landed him bum back down then glanced to the actor sitting next to him.
In contrast, the man, who happened to be Jack's friend, grinned sweetly and slowly sat up. He glanced at each person before speaking in his usual soft voice, "Hello. My name is Ricky Butler and I will be Doctor Daniel Lovelace." Jack smirked at the character's name as he believed it suited his friend's personality traits. Ricky had always been a quiet man, who preferred to listen rather than talk loudly, and very much a gentleman. However, despite his soft persona, the man could change into his chosen character the moment the camera clicked to record his performance. Jack respected him quite a bit.
Now it was his turn and every eyes turned to gaze upon him while he stood up. Each actor and actress before him all were fortunate to grab a spot as the main cast, but they were also acutely aware that he held the position as the main protagonist which the drama would encircle. Jack took each case of his job seriously, but he knew this would be the most important and long lasting job which he would never fail and slack away from. Thus, he stood tall and in a clear, audible voice, he said, "I am Jack Pine and my role is Doctor James Eugene Miles. It is my utmost pleasure to work with you all. Let us work hard and bring out the best of each other. Thank you."
His curt introduction, caused everyone in the room to smile up at him, and then he sat back down with a sincere smile across his face. As Jack relaxed onto his leather chair, he noticed Elsa smile at him and he smiled back at her with a slight nod of his head. Then their attention swiftly turned to the woman next to him. The actress looked slightly younger than him. She was tall and had an athletic built with her long, straight, chocolate brown hair tied in a ponytail. She smiled at him too, before standing up to say, "I am Katelyn Morrison. I will be the wife of Doctor James Miles, Rebecca Miles."
Jack chuckled lightly as he heard the word, wife, it was an amusing idea of him to have a wife as he was a single man. He supposed that was the perk of his job- to have a wife and he would most definitely chat with her later. He deemed it necessary, considering their roles as a couple- or rather, a family. Then he stared at the young lad, who looked as if he was merely six or seven years old, and grinned at his future son.
The youngest actor in the room stood up proudly as if not to lose to any of the adults. The boy said, "I am Max Charles. I am playing Riley Miles, the son of Mr. Miles." Jack felt even more amused as he wouldn't mind having a boy cute as him to play the role of his son. It was amazing how the directors managed to scoop up a boy who looked much like him when he was a little, mischievous lad. The child had two little dimples by his cheeks and bright blue, innocent eyes which were slightly covered by the fringe of his dark brown hair. Yes, he could easily pass as his and Mrs. Miles' son. It would be believed that he got his hair from his mother and his blue eyes from his father. In a way, it reminded Jack of the times when Benjamin was such a little boy which caused a small smile to form on his lips again. It would be easy to pull of an act as a doting father.
Then the meeting continued on as they discussed the future plans of the drama series. The genre would mainly be criminal, but there would be a subtle sophistication from the medical genre. It would be dark- a bit of a tragedy. There would be love, romance, and scenes that adults would enjoy- which covered a part of Jack's and Elsa's contracts. There would be anger and death. It would be dramatic, but realistic as well. Jack smiled smugly on his seat as he quietly mused, it will be brilliantly enticing. And the drama would begin next week.
