Alright, so about the hole "3 chapters to the games" thing. If you can count, that's two chapters to the game, but I lied. I can't count... If you finish this chapter and then hit next chapter, then the games will start. So technically, one chapter left... Whoops.

Doctor Whooves sat in District 12's ready room with Bright Darkness, his fellow tribute and close friend. Bright Darkness was a rather chipper 16-year-old filly with good motivations. She had pitch black fur, and dark eyes, and her light purple mane went well with it. She was almost impossible to see in the dark, or even in twilight. But even with her deceptive name, she was a kind natured person, and helped with keeping Doctor Whooves and her alive on many occasions.

"So," Bright Darkness started, "We better check out the training scores."

"The TV will turn itself on," Doctor Whooves responded, "It's mandatory remember?"

"Oh lighten up," Bright Darkness joked, "We've worked hard for this. We trained almost endlessly, and we deserve a little break. Besides we need to see what our enemies can do…"

"You're talking like we're a team," Doctor Whooves said glumly, "You know we aren't."

"I know," Bright Darkness slumped over. She wanted to be on a team with this great pony, but she couldn't. It would compromise their position.

The TV suddenly turned on, and the pony announcer went onstage to talk about the training scores. Starting with District 1, of course.

"It's finally time," the pony announcer started. He sat down in his chair and continued, "It's time for the 27th annual Pony Games' training scores. For years, we've been doing this, and I can't believe it has been 27. I'm so utterly excited for this moment."

"Let's get this over with," Doctor Whooves, "You tried to get a low score right?"

"Of course," Bright Darkness said in response, "But you can't stop me from trying a little, high scores are a good thing."

"Not in our position," Whooves remarked.

"Shh," Bright Darkness interrupted, "He finished rambling."

"So for District 1," the pony announcer said onscreen, "For the lovely lady from that District, Rarity, the training score is a whopping 9 out of 12. Quite impressive. And for the colt of the District, Dusty Autumn, a 7. Quite the starters."

"Rarity would be a challenge," Whooves said, "I hear she's one of the careers."

"What about Dusty Autumn?" Bright Darkness asked.

"And District 2," the announcer said before Whooves could answer, "The tall and buff mare from 2, Tena Nightingale, a strong 9. Just like her teammate Rarity. Speaking of which, Rarity and Tena are the first two careers to be mentioned." The announcer dragged on for a little while about the careers, until he finally continued. "The colt from District 2, Shining Armor, got an 8. He must not have been quite as great as the others."

"These numbers aren't looking in our favor," Bright Darkness mumbled.

"District 3," the announcer continued, "Our beautiful Trixie. The magician of them all, has a foreboding, 11. The second highest score possible. She must have some dark secrets up her sleeve." A picture of Trixie was shown, just as all of the other tributes' pictures were shown. But this one stood out, it showed Trixie's face, but her eyes laughed. It was as if she knew she would win the games already. "And then the colt, or should I say, dragon, Spike, has a low 5. Let's hope he can run fast."

"11?!" Bright Darkness started freaking out, "This is so bad! What if we don't survive?!"

"Calm," Whooves stopped Bright Darkness, "Down. We will survive. That's the plan."

"District 4," the announcer said with glee, "Rainbowdash, one of the few ponies that volunteered as tribute, got a 10. Right below our leader right now. And the strong handed Big Macintosh, got an 8. These first few tributes seem a deadly threat to all who challenge them."

After District 4, the announcer mentioned Twilight and Scootaloo, who both got a 6 for their slightly pathetic performance. The announcer dragged slowly through District 6, but eventually brought up Applejack, who also got a 6, and Dainty Almond, who sadly got a 2. In District 7, Hot Shot received an 8, Silver Spoon a 5. District 8 was a rather sad district, where Soarin' got a mere 6, Diamond Tiara a 3. Names went on and scores were called until District 12 would finally be accounted for.

"Finally," the announcer still managed to hold a smile, "District 12. Our lovely filly is Bright Darkness, with her agile strength received a 7. And lastly, Doctor Whooves, the best of the best. He got a 12."

"Oh no," Whooves gasped, "This is bad."

"Oh my gosh!" Bright Darkness smiled, "I got a seven! This is great!"

"No!" Whooves said, "They know! The position is compromised. It's too late to abort!"

"Should I attack," Bright Darkness asked, "I can turn into anything."

"No," Doctor Whooves responded bravely, "They obviously don't know a thing about you. Don't do anything. You'll be fine, but we have to stay apart. If we join forces, it will be obvious."

"What about your teammate?" Bright Darkness asked.

Doctor Whooves sniffed, "Sweetie Belle? Only one can survive, Bright Darkness, she and I are simply going to die."

Now, I hope you all enjoyed that chapter. So many characters. Don't worry, when the games start, the character count will go down a lot. Muahahahaha! But I'm sure this will still be enjoyed!

"Don't go, please," I said.

"No, I must go, my people need me," the anonymous reader answered.

"But I need reviews," I said.

"Goodbye," the anonymous reader said as he left, leaving me crying alone in a corner. Don't leave me crying alone in a corner, because then I won't update the story. Reviews are important.
