"Are you ready?" Big Macintosh asked Rainbowdash. They were standing on their pedestals that would lift them into the games.
Rainbowdash walked onto the pedestal quietly in response.
"I'll take that as a yes," Big Mac joked. It was obvious enough he was trying to keep a happy face on. "Remember the plan."
"Run into the cornucopia," Rainbowdash said as she looked forward into nothingness, "And don't look back."
"Good."
Suddenly, clear tubes surrounded them, and the pedestals slowly lifted them out into the open. The games were about to begin. Rainbowdash looked around as soon as the pedestal finished rising. In the center of all of the tributes was a large tower, about five stories tall. The gamemakers didn't hesitate to decorate it. It had diamond encrusted windowsills and stained glass art on the windows. The twenty-four archways leading inside were made of gold, and the stone walls shined like the sun.
Behind Rainbowdash, there was a set of large mountains looming over the tributes, and another not too different on the exact opposite side. The mountains blocked the rising and setting sun, which would mean longer nights, and much shorter days. She looked to her right, where there was nothing but a dry landscape, the curve of the earth was easily viewed because no terrain blocked the sight of it. There seemed to be holes scattered throughout the dry and cracked ground. To her left, was a beautiful forest. The trees pierced the cloud layer wonderfully, and snow laid inside the woods clutches. It was a winter wood.
The countdown for the games to begin reached twenty seconds. Rainbowdash looked at her allies one by one, making contact with each of them. Tena, Big Macintosh, Shining Armor, Rarity. They all seemed to be on her side, but she knew she couldn't trust them.

Suddenly, everypony ran for their lives. The dragon flew for the hills and Doctor Whooves and his friend ran for the dry, patchy ground. All the others seemed to go to the forest. Rainbowdash flew inside quickly, and flew up to the very top floor. She found nothing of use at the bottom floor. A few scattered food items, a rusty knife, and a backpack with gaping hole in it, and a jacket. Nothing of importance. At the top floor she found a very shiny trident that she decided to make her own.
"Hey wait up," she heard a shout from behind, "You're the only career who can fly." She looked down to see Shining Armor leading the way up the stairs, with Tena following behind. Rainbowdash flew down next to them.
"Sorry slow poke," Rainbowdash joked.
"Hey guys," Tena said as she pointed to a scared looking pony, hanging from the ceiling on a rope. "I wonder how that happened?" Tena got out an axe and held it up to the pony's throat.
"No don't," the pony quickly said, "This place, it's booby trapped." The rope was starting to snap.
Tena's eyes widened. "We still can't let him live," She said happily, "I get first kill." A cannon went off as the pony's head was chopped off. "Pity for him." A cannon sounded. And soon after, another cannon.
"Maybe we should take heed to what he said," Shining Armor sneered, "Instead of ignoring it." He walked forward a brick moved under his foot.
"Get down!" Rainbowdash fell onto the ground in a hurry as arrows whizzed over their heads.
"See?" Shining Armor remarked.
"So," Big Macintosh stood up after the arrows were finished, "How do we get down alive?"
