CHAPTER 18

I do not own Doctor Who and I am not making any profit off of this.

DEADLY REUNION

After being reunited with Merry again when she was saved from the Silence, Clara was trying to have a normal day at home for once to make things up to her for being away so much. The only thing out of the ordinary was Jenny who was now living with Clara in order to keep an eye on her in case the Silence returned. The Doctor had insisted on this and for once Clara hadn't fought him.

She actually liked this arrangement a lot better than she would have if one of her boys were there with her instead. She didn't mind Jenny being around because she was very easy to get along with and didn't cause her any trouble. She actually stayed out of her way unlike other Time Lords that she could mention who would be constantly babbling about how bored they were. Jenny actually understood that Clara wanted some time alone with Merry and respected that.

It didn't hurt that she wasn't completely mad either. She could actually count on Jenny to just act like a normal person. She didn't have to watch her at every moment to make sure that she wasn't doing things like rewiring her outlets and being about to blow up the house for instance.

As Jenny sat in her living room watching television (she was completely hooked on that time traveling show with Clara's favorite actress in it and constantly complained about how her own favorite actress had only been in one episode), Clara and Merry were playing video games against one another in the next room. Unlike Artie and Angie, Clara was actually able to present Merry with a challenge.

Well, she lasted longer than they had anyway.

"I can't believe that you beat me again! I'm a Time Lord so you'd think that I would always be the winner plus I was quite the gamer when I was young. That's where Oswald for the win came from. I could beat anyone. I was the video game Queen!" Clara complained.

"Not anymore," Merry said with an evil grin.

Clara laughed and hugged her as she said, "Well, if I had to give up my crown, I can't think of anyone better to give it to."

"At least you gave me a little bit of a challenge. I was starting to get bored with how easily I could beat Angie and Artie. I think that they were getting mad about it too. I actually started to let them win just to keep them playing," Merry admitted.

"Don't do that, Merry. Don't ever hold yourself back in any way. Other people might not like it, but if they're really your friends they'll learn to accept it. That doesn't mean of course that you should stand out so much that you attract attention. We don't want people to know that you're an alien after all," Clara said.

"So I should always do my best except for when it might get me noticed. Okay, that's not a mixed message at all," Merry said.

"Stop being such a little smart aleck. That's my job. You know what I meant," Clara said as she kissed her cheek.

Merry smiled at her and nodded as she said, "I just like to know how far I can push you."

"I know. You remind me so much of me that way. I was always a little troublemaker too. I was never as bad as Theta and Koschei though. Now those two were always like two firecrackers just waiting to go off. Most people stayed away from them because they didn't want to be too close when the inevitable finally occurred. I didn't though. I enjoyed never knowing what was going to happen next. I loved waiting for the explosion," Clara said with a smile.

"I know the feeling," An unfamiliar voice suddenly said behind them.

Somehow before Clara could even turn around Jenny was suddenly right there next to her standing in front of her and Merry in a protective fighting stance. Clara was definitely impressed. She had never even seen her move.

"Oi! Don't get your knickers all twisted into knots, Soldier Girl. I'm not here to hurt them. If I was, I would have already done it by now," The newcomer said.

"No, you wouldn't have. Trust me," Jenny said.

Clara watched with fascination as the two of them stood face to face with one another. The newcomer was a young girl in her teens with her dark brown hair tied up behind her in a ponytail and wearing a black leather jacket that was covered with a myriad of different badges of all sizes and shapes. She was wearing what Clara immediately recognized as a time ring on her arm but she could tell that she was completely human and not a Time Lord. She smiled as one of her echoes' memories was triggered, and she started to remember exactly who this was.

"Oh, I like you already. You're downright wizard is what you are. I bet we'll become great mates, you and me. If you don't kill me in the next few minutes, that is. I'm Ace by the way. It's not as easy to kill someone if you know their name is it? At least I hope that it isn't anyway," Ace said.

Clara smiled as it all fell into place for her now. She remembered Ace from Ice World. Well, one of her echoes did anyway.

"I don't want to kill anyone if I don't have to. I always try to find another way. I hope that you'll agree with me on that and leave these two alone," Jenny said.

"Honest, Soldier Girl, I'm not here to hurt them. I'm actually after someone else. Well, technically it's something else. I followed his trail to this area so he must be around here somewhere," Ace said.

"It's okay, Jenny. She's one of the Doctor's companions. One of my echoes met her once," Clara said.

"Are you sure?" Jenny asked.

"Yeah, she's harmless," Clara said.

"Oi! I am not! You take that back. I'm extremely dangerous when I want to be. Right now I just don't want to be. If you don't believe me, then take a look at this," Ace said as she took two aerosol cans out of her backpack.

"What's that going to do? Make us cough on the fumes?" Clara joked.

"There won't be anything left of you to cough if these go off. These are filled with Nitro-9. They're my own homemade explosives. Like the name says, they're much better than Nitro," Ace said with an evil gleam in her eyes.

"Oh, cool! Can I hold one?" Merry said with a fascinated look on her face.

"No! You're not going anywhere near them, young lady. Put those away, Dorothy. They shouldn't even be here. This is my home!" Clara said in an upset voice.

"It's Ace not Dorothy. Dorothy is a naff name. No one calls me that, got it? Don't get so uptight. It's not like I was going to give one to her. I may like explosions but I'm not stupid. I just wanted to prove a point is all. I'm not harmless. Not in the slightest," Ace said defensively.

"Yes, I can see that. You're more talk than anything else," Jenny said smiling.

"You want to find out, Soldier Girl?" Ace said in a threatening voice.

"Stop with the empty threats, Ace. I've already figured you out. If you're one of my Dad's companions, then you won't hurt anyone if you don't have to. He only takes certain types of people along with him as a rule. Clara's right. You're not dangerous at all to us. Even if you were, I could still take you," Jenny said.

"Your Dad? The Professor is your dad? I mean I know that he had a family once, but I thought that they were all dead," Ace said in surprise.

"I was dead but I got better. That's how tough I am," Jenny said with an amused grin on her face.

"Alright you two that's enough with the tough girl contest. You're both tough, okay? There's no doubting that. I know I certainly don't doubt it anyway. So why don't we get to what's really important here, Ace? Who or what did you come here to find?" Clara asked.

"How do you know me anyway? You seem familiar but I don't really remember you," Ace said with an uncertain look on her face.

"No, no one ever does. I'm Clara Oswald. I travel with the Doctor just like you only I'm with a future Doctor instead of yours," Clara said.

"Clara. Yeah, that's right. You're that girl that helped me save the Professor from that scumbag Kane's soldiers that were going to ambush him back on Iceworld. You died though stopping them. I saw you die. You were completely disintegrated," Ace said in shock.

"Don't remind me. I have enough nightmares as it is. That wasn't really me, Ace. It was one of my echoes created when I jumped in the Doctor's timestream and was almost torn apart. It was like a temporal clone of me I guess you could say," Clara said.

"What?" Ace asked confused.

Clara sighed as she said, "Just like Jenny, I got better."

Ace nodded as she said, "You sound pretty tough yourself. Okay. I'll tell you what I'm here after. I just hope that the two of you can help me catch him before it's too late."

After Ace told Clara and Jenny her story, Clara's eyes widened* in alarm as she said, "We've got to find her right now!"

As Clara apologized to Merry for running out on her again, Merry said, "It's okay, Mum. I don't take it personally. This is just how your life is. You're a hero. It's what you do. At least I got to beat you in a few games anyway."

"Merry, are you sure that you're alright?" Clara asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Go on, Mum," Merry said.

"Jenny's going to stay here with you, okay? Try not to drive her too mad until I get back, okay? I'll be back as soon as I can. Oh, and Merry? I'm no hero," Clara said as she grabbed Ace's arm while Ace prepared to use her Time Ring to go after her target once more.

"You could have fooled me," Merry said meaning it.

Clara smiled at her and then she and Ace were gone. Jenny hugged Merry and kissed her forehead.

"You're absolutely right, Mer. I think she's a hero too," Jenny said.

"I don't just think she is. I know," Merry responded.

Meanwhile at Tish's house, Tish was talking to Martha and Mickey while they were visiting when she suddenly received an unexpected visitor.

"Rose, what are you doing here?" Tish asked in surprise as the Moment appeared in her living room.

"Nothing. I just thought I'd drop by. I just love seeing old friends again. Don't you?" The Moment said as she gave her a meaningful look.

Tish was immediately alarmed as she realized that she was giving her a warning about the future. What in the world could she mean though? What old friend was coming to see her, and what about that was so bad? Or was she misunderstanding her completely?

"Mistress, I've finally found you at last. It's so good to see you again," A familiar voice from the past said.

Tish and the others turned to see K-9, her K-9, come rolling into the living room out of nowhere.

"What the? What is that?" Martha said in surprise.

"Hey, it's the tin dog! Remember him, Rose?" Mickey said with a smile.

"How could I forget, Micks? I still say that the Doctor must have been going through a disco phase or something when he came up with that thing," The Moment said as for a split second she actually forgot that she wasn't really Rose.

She was shocked at how easy it was.

"Hey, don't make any cracks about my K-9. He's a good boy. Aren't you, K-9?" Tish said with a fond smile on her face.

"Affirmative, Mistress," K-9 said as he wagged his mechanical tail.

"Wait a minute. Your K-9? I thought that he belonged to Sarah Jane," Mickey said.

"Oh, did he give her one too? Yes, I suppose he did. He gave Leela one after all," Tish said as she became sad for a moment.

"What is it?" Martha asked.

"I was just remembering how good a friend Leela was. She left Gallifrey just before Rassilon tried to kill me. She had finally had enough of it all when her husband died. I suppose I can't blame her. I guess she's probably dead now. The Time Lords were already extending her life while she lived there," Tish said.

Then she suddenly turned to look at K-9 with suspicious eyes as she said, "Which reminds me of what happened to you, K-9. How are you here? I saw Rassilon destroying you with his gauntlet right before he tried to kill me. He turned you into scrap metal. How could you possibly survive that?"

"Yeah, Tin Bot, how did you survive? Don't use the "I got better" line either. Jenny and I have already copyrighted that one," Clara said as she suddenly appeared with Ace.

"That's him, Reincarnation Girl. I've been following him for a while ever since he tried to kill the Professor. The Professor gave me this Time Ring and told me to stop him before he found this person named Romana in the future and tried to kill her too," Ace said.

"Why didn't the Doctor just bring you in the TARDIS?" Clara asked not sure that she wanted to know the answer.

Ace looked guilty as she said, "He was badly hurt by this tin scumbag. He appeared out of nowhere pretending to be friendly. Then he just shot him, and the Professor went into what he said was a healing coma. Before he did, he told me that it was up to me to stop this thing."

Tish pulled out her sonic screwdriver and looked at K-9 in alarm as she said, "How did you survive being destroyed, K-9?"

"I was rebuilt and given new programming by my new master, Ex-Mistress. I serve Lord President Rassilon now. He ordered me to execute you in the event that you somehow survived his assassination attempt. He knew that you would never expect me to betray you," K-9 said.

"I don't know whether you've heard or not, Tinny, but we beat Rassilon a while back. Your boss is permanently out of commission now so you're doing all of this for nothing," Clara said.

"Tinny?" The Moment said with a smirk.

"Shut up," Clara said with a frown.

"I know this already because I was designed to be his revenge against you, Ex-Mistress, in case he was to ever fall to you in some way. I was hidden away deep in the vaults of Gallifrey and programmed to activate on the event of his death. As soon as his hearts stopped beating, I was reactivated and immediately started to search for you. I couldn't find the correct version of you from after his death so I found the nearest version of the Doctor Master, a past version it turned out, and stole your biodata extract through his TARDIS' connection to the Matrix on Gallifrey in order to help me find you. I then used that to lead me on the correct trail to you. Now that I finally have, I must kill you as my master ordered. I . . . am sorry, Ex-Mistress," K-9 said as a gun came out of his nose and he prepared to fire on Tish with it.

"K-9, you don't have to do this. You're more than just a machine. I know you are from spending so many years with you. You're a living being with a personality and consciousness all of your own. You can fight this. You can override his programming. I know you can," Tish said even as she slowly moved her sonic screwdriver to a setting that would instantly blow out all of his circuitry.

She didn't want to use it unless she had no other choice though. K-9 had been a good friend to her for a very long time. He was like family to her.

"He's not dead anyway, K-9. He's been turned human. That's why you couldn't detect his hearts beating anymore because now he's only got one of them. He's not dead so you don't have to do this," Clara said as she tried to talk him out of it.

"This information is irrelevant as he no longer exists as a Time Lord. He is still for all intents and purposes dead," K-9 argued.

"That's funny. I was human once and I certainly wasn't dead. I was different but not dead," Tish said.

"You cannot stop me by trying to change my mind, Ex-Mistress. I must follow my programming," K-9 said.

"Oh, must you, K-9? Really? I thought I taught you better than that. Never, ever blindly follow what someone else told you to do. Always think for yourself first," The Doctor said as he and the Master suddenly rushed into the room.

"Romana, are you alright? Jenny told us what was going on, and I came as fast as I could," The Master asked with a frightened expression on his face.

"I am so far. That might change soon though," Tish said.

"I'll take care of this thing for you. I'll gladly blow it to bits. I've always hated that stupid thing. It looks like it came out of a junkyard," The Master said as he pointed his laser screwdriver at K-9.

"Koschei, no!" Tish shouted.

"What? He's going to kill you," The Master said confused.

"Then why hasn't he? He's fighting it, Koschei. Give him a chance before you blow him up," Tish said.

The Master hesitated and then nodded as he said, "I will but only for you. The minute he looks like he's going to attack though I'll blow him apart."

"Oi! I'm doing that, whoever you are! He hurt the Professor. He's long overdue for some payback for that," Ace said.

The Master looked at her closely for a moment and then laughed as he said, "Oh, it's you. I remember you. You're the one who likes to blow things up. I'm surprised that that rusty bucket of bolts that the Doctor dares to call a TARDIS survived having you and your chemistry set onboard it for so long. I kept hoping that you would blow yourself and him to smithereens. I think it would have been ironic if one of his precious Earth girls was the one to finally kill him."

As he laughed at that, everyone gave him the evil eye especially Tish which made him say, "Sorry. Force of habit."

"You've changed your face but I know how you are. You're the bloody Master. I'd know that rotten laugh anywhere," Ace said with her fists balled up.

"Not now, Ace. He's kind of sort of on our side now. I think. We need to focus on K-9 not the Master. He's the real threat here. Blimey! I never thought I'd ever hear myself say that," The Doctor said in disbelief.

"Professor? What are you now, ten years old?" Ace said in shock.

"You're being generous, Ace. He acts five to me," Clara joked.

"I'd say two," The Master chimed in.

"Oi!" The Doctor protested.

"Can everyone focus on the tin dog please? He's about to kill my sister," Martha said in a horrified voice.

"No, I don't think so, Martha. K-9's a good boy. He won't kill Romana. Will you, boy? You know that she hasn't done anything to deserve it. You know that this is wrong. Don't you?" The Doctor asked.

K-9 continued to hesitate as he said, "I – I must obey my programming. I – I . . ."

K-9's head started to smoke from the effort that he was putting into fighting his programming. Tish was certain that they had won in that moment.

Then she was proven to be horribly wrong as a new voice came out of K-9's mouth, the voice of Rassilon.

"Not so fast, my dear Romana. I knew that there was a chance that you might talk even a reprogrammed K-9 out of killing you because loyalty to you is too deeply ingrained in his circuitry. So I built a hidden back-up plan into his mind just in case. K-9's brain has just been shut off. He's purely a machine now. A machine dedicated to one purpose: your destruction," Rassilon's voice said through K-9.

"Tish, look out!" Martha said as she suddenly ran in-between Tish and K-9 and pushed her out of his way.

Martha then fell to the ground a moment later as K-9 shot her in the back with his laser.

"No!" Mickey screamed as Martha lay there unmoving.

"Martha?" Tish said as she stood there in complete shock.

She was now a perfect target for K-9 who was about to fire at her again. This time though she was saved by Ace who used a baseball bat from her backpack to knock K-9's head off!

"That was for the Professor, Tin Man!" Ace shouted.

Romana never even registered what happened. She was too busy scanning Martha with her sonic screwdriver while Mickey wept over her.

"Tish, is she going to be alright?" Mickey asked.

Tish looked at him sadly as she said in a hesitant voice, "Mickey, she's . . . she's about to . . ."

"No! You can't let that happen! Please help her!" Mickey pleaded.

"Don't worry. I will, Mickey. I'm never going to stand by and let her die if I can help it," Tish said as her hands started to glow with regenerative energy.

"Romana, what are you doing?" The Master asked in surprise.

"I'm giving up one of my lives for my sister," Tish said.

The Master now truly saw just how much Martha meant to her. He realized now just how much being human had meant to her and still did.

He added this realization to how much he knew that he loved her, and he knew what he had to do.

"Tish, let me do that," The Master said.

"What?" Tish said in disbelief.

"Let me do it," The Master insisted.

Then everyone looked on in amazement as the Master laid his glowing hands on Martha's body, and the energy from one of his lives flowed into her just in time to keep her from dying. She was instantly healed and sat up looking at him in absolute incomprehension as she realized what had just happened.

She couldn't believe that the Master had just saved her life.

"You saved her. You saved her life," Tish said still not quite believing it.

"I'd do anything for you, Tish. I love you," The Master said.

Tish instantly wrapped her arms around him and gave him a passionate kiss in gratitude for what he had just done. She still hadn't completely let go of her anger at him just yet, but the Master had definitely made a good start at getting her to forgive him.

The Master smiled at her and then tried to pass out because he was now left weakened by having used up one of his lives. Fortunately for him, Tish caught him before he fell and helped him lie down on her couch.

"My kisses aren't that good," Tish joked.

"They are to me," The Master said as he smiled at her.

"Just lay there and rest until you recover," Tish said.

Then she gave him another kiss and said, "Thank you. Thank you so much. You don't know how much she means to me."

"I know how much you mean to me. That was all I needed to know at that moment. Maybe I'll learn the rest later," The Master said.

"I . . . I don't know how to feel. Part of me wants to thank you and another part still can't let what you did go," Martha said.

"You don't have to thank me or forgive me. Just consider it a small part of the debt that I owed you for what I did to you and your family and leave it at that," The Master said.

"You really have changed," Martha said in stunned disbelief.

"Not yet but I'm trying," The Master said.

"Stop talking and go to sleep, Koschei," Tish ordered.

"Yes, Tish," The Master said.

She smiled at his sudden use of her current name now and then said, "Rest. That's an order."

"Yes, sir," The Master said with a small smile.

The others now went out to let him go to sleep while Tish carried what was left of K-9 with her. She gave the pieces to the Doctor who looked at his old friend sadly.

"Poor K-9. I knew him well," The Doctor said as he held his head in his hand.

"Stop with the bad paraphrasing of Shakespeare and fix him already, Doctor," Tish said.

"Wha? Why would you want to?" Ace asked.

"He's my friend, Ace. It's not his fault that Rassilon reprogrammed him as a deathtrap for me because he's a sore loser," Tish said.

"Do you think that you can remove all of Rassilon's programming, Chinny?" Clara asked.

"Of course I can. I can do anything that old Rantsilon can do and do it ten times better. I'll fix K-9 back as good as new and then some," The Doctor said in a confident voice.

"Why do you want him for? He almost killed you and Martha. I say leave him like he is. I never did understand why Sarah Jane wanted hers either. I think he's annoying," Mickey said.

"Hear, hear!" Ace agreed.

"Pay no attention to them, boy. They just don't understand how great you are. They don't know you like I do. No, they don't," The Doctor said to K-9's head.

"Doctor, he can't actually hear you. Ace switched him off when she took his head off," Clara said as she rolled her eyes at him.

"Are you sure? It might be possible that he can even in this state, and I don't want his feelings to be hurt," The Doctor said.

The Moment laughed at him as she said, "Only you would be concerned about the feelings of a deactivated tin dog, Doctor."

Then she turned to Tish and Martha and her expression instantly changed to an apologetic one as she said, "I'm sorry that I didn't try to help, Martha. I . . . I couldn't."

"It was for Koschei to do or not do wasn't it? It was all a fixed point around his actions," Tish said in an understanding voice.

"That was why you didn't interfere before wasn't it? These were both turning points in his life, weren't they?" Clara realized.

The Moment nodded as she said, "Yes. Thankfully he's done the right thing every time. He really is on the right path to reforming himself now, and I hope that he stays on it."

"Even if he hadn't, I would have still saved Martha myself. I'm glad that it turned out the way that it did though. Now that I know that he means what he says I really think that I might be able to possibly one day forgive him. It might take a while but I think I can get there as long as I know that he'll never be that same man that did all of those horrible things again," Tish said.

The Master overheard her and smiled. It was no sure promise but it was enough to give him some hope for the first time in a long time. Maybe one day even he could have a chance at redemption. Maybe he could even have a happy ending with the woman that he loved.

Right now it seemed impossible but it could still happen one day. Couldn't it?

Even as the Master pondered his future, the Doctor took Ace and the deactivated K-9 with him to his TARDIS as he said, "Come along, Ace. I'll take you back to your Doctor in just a few minutes. Why you want to stay with Umbrella Man when you could travel with someone as cool as me though I have no idea."

"No offense, Professor, but he's my Doctor. You're okay and all but you're not him. I mean you are but you're not my version of him. Do you know what I mean?" Ace asked.

The Doctor smiled as he said, "Yeah, I think I do. I'm a lucky man to have such loyal friends. Don't worry, Ace. You'll be back with him before you get a chance to miss him. Maybe you can get him to stop wearing that horrible question mark sweater when you get back. It is so not cool. I still have no idea what I was thinking. I was going through a bit of a question mark phase back then. I don't know why."

"Maybe it was a mid-life crisis, Chin Boy. You know questioning your identity and all that?" Clara proposed.

"You know. I never thought about that. If you ever want to start a new career, you'd make a great therapist, Clara," The Doctor said.

"After a couple of more years of traveling with you, I'll be able to write a book on the subject just based on my studies of you alone, Mr. Chin," Clara said with a smug grin.

"Oi!" The Doctor protested.

"Come on, Professor. It's time that you quit while you're ahead," Ace said.

"Yeah, you're probably right. She always wins anyway," The Doctor said with a warm smile on his face.

"You know you love it," Clara said as she, the Doctor, and Ace entered the TARDIS.

She was right of course.

After the Doctor left Ace back in her own time with her Doctor, he returned Clara back home to find that Jack was there with Jenny. He stiffened as he realized that Jack was waiting to take Jenny on a date as soon as Clara was back.

If I had known that he was here, I would have kept him waiting until he gave up before I came back. A week would have worked I think. The Doctor said to Clara telepathically.

Stop it, Doctor. He's a good man and you know it. Just leave them alone. Let Jenny have a good time. Clara replied.

That's exactly what I'm worried about. The Doctor said with a shudder.

Stop it! That's not what I meant and you know it. Clara responded with a frown as she elbowed him in the side.

"Doctor, I'm just going to take Jenny to a nice restaurant. She's going to love it there. Then after that, I'll bring her right back here," Jack said as he realized what was going on.

"If I decide to end it there, that is. I may just change Jack's plans. You never know," Jenny said.

The Doctor looked at her like a deer caught in the headlights as Clara smiled. She could tell that Jenny was just doing this because of the way that he was acting. She wanted to make him suffer for treating her like a child.

"Jenny, I . . ." The Doctor started to say once he could speak again.

"Don't wait up, Dad. I'll be back when I'm back. Whenever that is," Jenny said with an evil grin.

Jack smiled as he said, "You know I'm really starting to like you more and more, Jenny Harkness."

"What?" Jenny asked in surprise.

"I was just testing it out to see how it sounded," Jack said as he gave her a quick wink that the Doctor couldn't see.

Jenny smiled as she got that he was playing around with her father and decided to play along as she said, "Oh! It sounds great. You know I actually kind of like it."

Then the two of them walked out of the house together arm in arm.

Clara laughed as she said, "Don't worry, Chin Boy. They were just teasing you."

Then when she realized that there was no answer, she turned around and saw him lying passed out cold on the floor. She sighed and moved him onto her couch as she shook her head at him.

"What's wrong with the Doctor, Mum?" Merry said as she came into the room.

"He's just worried about Jenny dating, Mer," Clara said.

"Why? Doesn't he want her to be happy?" Merry asked.

"It's not that. It's . . . complicated. Merry, do me a favor. Wait till you're forty to start dating, okay?" Clara said with a smile.

Merry made a face as she said, "You don't ever have to worry about me, Mum. I'm not interested in that kind of thing in the slightest."

"That'll change one day," Clara said wisely.

"Nah, I think I'll become a video game designer instead of going on dates. That's much more fun than boys," Merry insisted.

Then she looked thoughtful for a moment and said, "Although Artie is kind of cute."

Clara sighed as she said, "Move over some, Chin Boy. I might be about to join you in a minute."

Merry laughed. She just couldn't resist winding Clara up that way. She was her mother's daughter after all.

*I could easily do a 12th Doctor type of joke about how wide her eyes are here but I won't. I love them just the way that they are.

Next: The Doctor successfully repairs K-9 just in time for an all-new adventure to start as Count Grendel disappears on the way to being transferred over to UNIT's custody. Who freed him and why? Hint: It's not the Silence. Plus just as Tish is starting to forgive Koschei something or should I say someone comes along to remind her about his past once more. Will their relationship continue to move forward or be set back by this unexpected development? Speaking of relationships, the Doctor and Clara's becomes much more serious as the Doctor asks Clara a very important question. What is it and what will her answer be? Plus of course more Jack and Jenny because I just love torturing the Doctor.
