The salvage shuttle floats in the void with stars and planets passing by. In the dark room, colors from nebula clouds reflecting on the face of the driver.

The young turian, Faron, had done something that even he himself would never understand. He saved a creature but for what, did he just feel sorry for her? He looked over his shoulder at the creature who had fell asleep. Pink and purple lights from a passing Nebula moved over her sleeping body. It had been an hour since he saved the creature and left Kai behind with his team. His mandibles moved of the thought what his family would think of his betrayal. That's what he did right? He betrayed his whole race and maybe even further by only saving that creature. He couldn't help it, his mother always had told him to help the weak and innocent ones. He heard a sigh and he peeked over his shoulder again to look at the blue haired figure, who had turned around and was holding a pillow close to her body while her hair colored purple from the light of a pink nebula cloud.

His mind had wondered further with thoughts and of his friend, Kai. Faron never met a turian that could complain as much as Kai could. A complaining turian but one of his best friends as long as he could remember. He felt his eyes become heavy and he shook his head to wake himself up he thought of this pointless war.

''if we could just talk with them and tell them opening that mass relay is forbidden, it all would be over!'' he mumbled, looking at the nebula dust floating up while he fly's through it. He thought back when the creature had tried to communicate with him, he couldn't understand it and it made him wonder what she could have said. Maybe she wanted to thank him because he saved her,

''oh great…'' he reminded himself that if she thanked him he had responded with a mean hiss that made her even more scared. He scratched his neck and mumbled ''How could she manage herself to trust me to bring her in safety, she's really not aware of what danger we can be''.

His mind wondered even further now. it wondered to an asari, she had light blue markings and a darker blue skin tone. Mayana K'arari was her name. oh spirits, he always had liked her but she already had feelings for Kai now. Kai didn't knew Faron had a crush on her but couldn't resist her either, Kai had told Mayana how he felt about her and she became his mate. Faron creaked his teeth strongly against each other and shook the thought out of his head. Mayana stayed at the Citadel for her studies and work. His eyes became big, turned around and looked at Eira. He couldn't understand her language even when he had a chip that made him understand others. The asari, his crush, had specialized herself in unknown languages and races. How stupid could he be for forgetting her specialty! She could make the creature understand him and the creature could help him out ending this war proving Faron didn't betray his people, that this was the right thing to do!

Faron finally knew where to go, the citadel. Since the Prothean extinction, numerous species have come to call the Citadel home. Mayana was one of them. she was still young for an asari, but she was already researching and working to create or upgrade the language chips! He started his omni tool and opened a conversation channel to Mayana. After a few seconds an hologram popped up of the omni tool

''Faron! what nice to hear from you, where is Kai?'' said the asari hologram that floated above his arm. Faron tried his best to smile and to respond as happy as he could,

''Kai is still at my team so no worries, BUT I have something you could use for your work and you will be happy to study it! I only think it's not something I can get into the Citadel it self… so if you don't mind to take a shuttle and board here?'' Faron knew he got her interested when a teasing voice responded his offer.

''So it's a surprise then? You know I don't take surprises well! How long will it take to be here?''. Faron entered his destination into the computer of the salvage ship,

''Around three hours I think'' and he stared back at the hologram of Mayana. ''Goddess, I just can't wait! I will be waiting for your call then!'' She waved a few times before closing the call. Faron who had waved back at her slowly lowered his hand into his lap, ''Damn you Kai…''

While he closed his omnitool he concentrated his sight back at the window and saw the colored reflection of the creature who stood behind him. Her big grey eyes gazing up watching the nebula's float by, dancing on her face. Faron turned to her.

''Hi there, how did you sleep?'' he sputtered awkwardly. The creature raised her hands to his face with a painful expression, the robe had began to leave red crying marks on her wrist. Faron's brow plates frowned at the sight of it, he was careful and thats why he didn't cut the robe when they met. He gently grabbed her hand and pushed it down a bit so it would be easier to cut. She kept looking at him while he cut the robe. When the robe was lose she delightfully rubbed over her sore wrists and gave Faron a thankful smile. She returned to the sofa to sit down. The air became heavy with an awkward silence, she reminded herself that her parents had blessed her with manners and she should introduce herself to her savior.

Do aliens have names? Is he my age or 100 years old? shifting her weight uneasy while sitting on the edge.

''I- I am Eira'' she said while resting her hands on her chest. Faron looked a bit confused, what did it want exactly?

Eira bit her lip. Maybe he didn't understand her right away, right, try number two. ''Eira'' she motioned with her fingers to her face to show what she meant, then turned her hands to him, he finally understood that she wanted to know his name.

''Faron'' and he tilted his head a bit which was a Turian way to introduce themselves. ''Faarlon'' she responded while trying her best to make a clicking sound. His mandibles fluttered with a smile and he repeated him self.

''Faronnn'', it must be really difficult for her to understand the clicking sounds had no real meaning and was a way to express themselves in their language. After a few try's she gave up on the clicking sound and just said:

''Faron!'' he tilted his head again to let her know she was calling him the right way. It made her smile, she could finally communicate with her savior and she tried to introduce herself again.

''Eira'' she said making clear lip movements and Faron did his best to look closely how she spoke and responded with a ''Eikra''. It made her laugh and she tried again,

''Eir-ra'' Faron trying hard to copy her lip movement ''Eir-ra'', with a smile and a tilt of her head which she clearly copied from him, he understood it was right this time.

After their introduction Faron didn't know what to do, they couldn't talk this way but he knew her name and that was something! he stood up from his chair and kneeled before her, she looked confused at him. He got something out of his pocket, it looked like a small disk with in the middle a button. he grabbed her hands, placed the disk into her hands and pushed the button. A hologram was coming out of it, she looked at it with an amazed expression. Those look like holograms pictures from Faron, others of his kind including the creature that had helped him. She pointed at him in the photo and looked at Faron with a questioning look, he explained that was his helping friend 'Kai'.

''Kai'' she repeated, he glided his hand over the button and Eira could see a new photo. She was clearly enjoying the photo's switching back and forth. Faron's throat left a small purr from seeing his family again on the hologram. Eira giggled at the sound. He quickly turned around to his seat embarrassed, so she can hear his sub vocals better then he thought.

The three hours flew by and Faron decided to give Mayana a call. Eira stood up from her seat and watched over Faron's shoulder to see the relay.

''Amazing!'' she said while looking at the incredible structure, she always had watched drawn pictures of the relays but never saw a real one! It was one of her life goals to finally see the real deal, but this one was even in unknown space for her and that made it even better! The hologram picture from Mayana popped up from Faron's omni tool, with a big smile and a wave she told him she was waiting for him just outside the relay. Faron nodded his head,

''Then we will meet you after we drop out of it''. Mayana grinned in enthusiasm, ''We, Faron? Oh goddess this made your surprise even more interesting!''. The turian looked at Eira with a turian smile.

''You know me, I am full of surprises!'' he closed the call and prepared himself for the jump, Eira who didn't understand the conversation got distracted by the mass relay who was powering up. In just a second they jumped out and they where gazing up to the citadel. Faron tried not to burst out of laughter when he saw the expression of Eira. Eira's mouth had dropped open. She was admiring the colossal deep space station,

''it's amazing!'' she yelled and she made a jump out of excitement while clapping her hands. It didn't took long for Faron to notice the asari vessel, and he flew closer to it. Eira's face was almost sticking to the window to not miss a single thing of the deep space station, when she finally noticed the other vessel they were heading to she looked at Faron with a puzzled expression and Faron nodded his head to show her it was okay.

The vessel was boarded and the door glided open.

''Faron! Where is my surprise?'' Mayana screamed while hopping inside the shuttle. It took her a few seconds why Faron deemed at her with an annoyed expression. until she noticed something peeking at her from behind him, it was an creature she never had seen before and Faron moved aside to expose it to her.

Eira was so startled of Mayana's entrance she had hid herself behind Faron's back. Faron chuckled at the way the two girls had expressed themselves, he turned to Eira and pointed his hands to the asari

''Mayana''. Mayana who regained herself from her astonishment, tilted her head towards Eira and presented herself ''Mayana''. Eira looked at Faron unsure what to do of meeting another alien.
