Last time, Naruto and Negi arrived to Mahora where they started it off as student/teacher. After a bit of a rough start things went smoothly but changed as the girls of 3-A came into the bath where the two boys were already in.

Mid-morning

It's been a few weeks since the bathing incident where Naruto and Negi continued on with their own daily lives. Naruto's prediction came true as the girls in the classroom couldn't directly look at Naruto without blushing red but that soon stop. During those few days, Naruto learned about Negi doing afterschool lessons for students who are having trouble with their English.

Currently, all of class 2-A were enjoying being outside where a few played around with a ball. As they did, they talked about Naruto and Negi.

"Hey, it's been a five days since Naruto-kun and Negi-kun arrived… what does everyone think of the two of them so far?" Makie questioned her friends

"Hmm… Naruto is pretty handsome and Negi isn't bad, being cute and all…" Akira commented

Yeah! From what I can see, Negi really is giving his best with the whole teaching thing too, isn't he? And Naruto shows that he's really smart from all the questions that has been thrown at him." Yuna commented as well.

Ako however did bring up the concern about having Negi as a child teacher while quietly muttering to herself about Naruto. Makie agreed with Ako since, unlike Takahata, she can't talk to Negi about things.

"Hehehe… instead, it's more like we should be listening to 'his' problems!" Yuna said while blushing a bit and giggling.

"HAHAHA! You mean as he 'experienced one-sama'?" Makie curiously stated miss shot the pass the ball that she hit.

"That would be more to Naruto-san since he is guy." Akira mentioned to everyone

Before any of them could continue on with their conversation it was halted by some rude comments.

"Sheesh… throw that thing properly, why don't you? You guys as 'experienced one-sama'? Don't make us laugh." Said the stranger where the girls looked worried.

With Naruto

Not far, Naruto was strolling along in the thicker part of the trees as he enjoyed the silence of nature. Just before he could enjoy it, his gut told him that something was wrong with his classmates and decided to check it out.

Running out of the trees, he spotted his classmates and his teacher being harassed by some of the high school girls of Mahora. He saw them ganging up on them were Ayaka and Asuna tried to held them off but was pushed pass the limit as the older girls started to cuddle up to Negi. With this, he decided to end it.

The girls were about to fight, Naruto came and pulled Asuna and the leader of the senior girls apart as he grabbed the two by the back of their uniform collars.

"Naruto-san!" Asuna shout out

"As much as I like seeing a fight, I don't approve of it if it was because of something stupid instead of something noble." Where everyone paid attention to the teenage boy.

Gently place the two down, the senior girls looked at Naruto with hearts in their eyes, or in some lust, as he looked directly at them.

"I apologize for my classmate's behavior." Naruto said as he bowed his head towards the high school girls. The senior girls smirk where they were about to make a smug comment but stopped as Naruto continued on, "… but on that note, instead of acting like role models, your all acting like brats. Personally, I can see how you girls would call yourselves ladies if you act like children in front of others. I'll be sure to inform your teacher about this behavior, but I won't tell them about this little squabble." Naruto stated

The senior girls nodded in agreement where they walked away but not before some of them giving Naruto a playful wink or a flirtatious gesture.

Once they were gone, Naruto turned his attention towards his left, "So, how long are you just going to stand there? I thought you would be here before me, Takamichi." Commented where Takahata came walking out from his little hiding spot.

"Well, I would have done something, but from what I saw you handled the situation pretty well. So I didn't really have to do anything." The veteran teacher stated as he got to Naruto's side.

Naruto looked a bit annoyed while Takahata changed his attention from the teenage boy towards his former students.

"I'm also kind of sad that you girls were about to resolve the issue with fighting instead with words." Takahata explained while Naruto looked where Negi was to see that he had a look of envy at how Naruto handled the situation while Takahata also gently discipline the girls.

Later

Class 2-A were getting ready for P.E. since it was their next class for the day. As they got ready, a few of them converse with the event that happened a little earlier.

"Hey, Naruto-kun was sure cool back there, huh?" Ako stated where a few agreed with the white hair girl.

"Now 'there's' someone you can depend on!" Yuuna adding her thoughts into the conversation.

The other girls wanted to know on what everyone was talking about where they explain to the girls that were absent from the scene on what happened earlier with the senior girls, how Negi didn't act like a teacher while Naruto acted like a man towards them.

"What's with you girls? Making fun of Negi-sensei like that…" Ayaka retorted at them

"Eeh… but it's true… he's only 10 years old, after all…" said a couple of girls sheepishly

Some of them were worried about the end of term exams where they wondered if Negi would be up for the task on preparing them.

"Personally, I want someone who's cute 'and' helpful like Naruto-san…" Yuuna commented while blushing at the last part of her sentence. A couple of them also agreed as they imagined on what kind of help they needed in.

Their thoughts stopped when Asuna told them that it was time for them to go to the roof where they agreed.

When they reached the roof, they were surprise to see the senior girls that bullied them were on the roof's volleyball court. What's more was the fact that both Naruto and Negi were on the roof, where Naruto leaned on the fence with his arms crossed together, eyes closed, while many some of the senior girls as they admire Naruto's physical appearance (wearing a short sleeve shirt, blue sweatpants, and sneakers.) The child teacher on the other hand was being grasp by the rest of the girls where they cuddled around him.

"Senior Class 2-D!" most of class 2-A shouted out at seeing the senior girls from earlier in the courtyard.

Class 2-A asked on why the senior girls were here where they explained that they have 'self-recreation' time where they then asked on what 2-A the same question which they answered for volleyball.

"Hmm… it seems we have a 'double booking' here." Said the leader of the senior girls.

It was only after seeing the situation that Asuna saw Negi being played around with by the older girls like he was adorable pet. She asked on why he was doing here with them.

"Ah… n-no… uh… you see, their P.E. teacher didn't come, so I was asked to fill in…" Negi answered

Their attention on the young redhead teacher changed back to the leader of the senior girls as she explained how their class was here first and told them to take a hike.

"You! You guys did this on purpose! There's a court right next to your dorm! And yet, you still come to our roof?" Asuna angrily remarked at them.

Things were getting out of hand as things escalated where Naruto saw where things might lead to. He decided that he was going to end it when he saw that Negi was about to sneeze that had a bit of magic in it. Sneezing with magical enhancement, Negi pushed them back a bit where the girls stood in their respected area, opposite side of the other class, where they were all stunned on what just happened. It was then that Negi told them that violence is wrong where he thought of a different method on settling the issue.

"How about this? We'll have a sporting contest between the two classes to resolve this dispute. This way, we can all get some exercise, and there's no need to fight!" Negi suggested where the senior girls agreed where they also agreed that they'll leave class 2-A alone from now on.

A bit of talking where everyone agreed on dodge ball game to settle the issue where the senior girls gave a handicap to class 2-A (11 seniors vs 22 middle school students). Of course, when the name the game, the senior girls says one more condition for class 2-A.

"If we win, we're taking Negi-sensei to be *our* teacher and Naruto as *our* classmate! How about it?" the senior girls said.

This got all of 2-A to grow concern about losing their teacher and classmate. Once everything was settled, the game began. Naruto decided to sit out since it wouldn't be fair since he was a guy and was a lot stronger than the senior girls, where he sat next to his mother.

At the beginning, class 2-A were losing as the fact of having so much people in a dodge ball game is a disadvantage while the senior girls also revealed to be the champion dodge ball team in all of kanto. As they were struggling to keep their lead, Naruto was having a telepathic conversation with his mother.

"My classmates are having a rough start, huh…" Naruto stated

"Yes, if they don't step up their game, I won't be able to see you in class again. You know you could always step in and get the win for them." Eva replied

"If I do that, then it would be unfair since they are the ones that wanted to do this. Besides, by the way the kid is doing now…" watching Negi inspire his students, "… I think the tide of this game is about to change." Naruto explained where the both of them overheard on what Negi said to them.

"Didn't you just hear what Asuna-san said before!? If you just turn around and run, you'll just become targets! If you'd just face the other team and the ball, you might just be able to catch it! L… let's give it our best!" Negi said to them.

With that, the rest of the girls in the seemed to have gotten confident and the belief that they can win. Their confidents and resolve restored, the rest of class 2-A were ready to play the game.

"Let's go everyone!" the whole team shouted out

The senior girls watched with amusement as they saw class 2-A brimming with new confidence.

"Fufu… you just don't know when to give up. You guys are going to lose for sure!" one of the girls said

"Hey, kid teacher, we've already prepared high school textbooks for you. And Blondie, well get your new uniform ready." Said another with a blush on her face as she checked Naruto up and down.

"Hehe… it was pointless for middle schoolers to try and go up against high school students in the first place…" said their captain when their amusement ended with Nodoka announcing a foul play.

"T… The rulebook says that it's an offense to hold the ball without throwing it for more than five seconds!" she explained

"You can just pass us the ball now!" Yue stated

The senior girls argued about it, saying it was a fake rule, but Nodoka had a rule book with her that read it to be true which they had no choice but to give it up.

The game changed drastically as each of 2-A's classmates unique skills such as Yuna's basketball dunk or Makie's ribbon gymnastics. Using their strongest skills, class 2-A overpower the high school girls where class 2-A won.

"Didn't I tell you that the game was going to change, huh… mom?" Naruto asked

"Yeah, you did but of course… these are weirdest type of girls there around here." Eva casually replied

Naruto went to congratulate his classmates as each player did a little victory celebration. As class 2-A were enjoying their victory, one of the senior girls leader decided to get some pay back.

"We've still got over time!" where she was ready to launch the ball to hit the back of Asuna's head. Negi saw this were he went to protect her.

"Asuna-san! Look out!" he yelled as he went towards her.

But before the ball could be hit, Naruto cut the girl's arm where she lost her balance as she landed on her butt while Naruto held onto her hand while the ball harmlessly hit the ground. Everyone watched as Naruto looked at the girl with narrow eyes.

"Now that's a little uncalled for. You girls lost the game fair and square. Yet now, you're about to do something that was completely dishonorable and shame yourselves even more. How about you girls leave now and keep what little dignity you have left." Naruto stated where the senior girls bitterly agreed and left.

As the class continued to cheer for their victory, Naruto notice that Takahata and Shizuna were watching from the shadows at seeing how Negi was doing.

It's been over a week since the dodge ball game where things for Negi has gotten better. While Negi's teaching status was growing, Naruto's bachelor status has thoroughly spread throughout the academy as several middle school girls as well as some high school girls came to him to either give him a love letter or get a date.

As the days wind up, Naruto knew that final term exams are coming up where he studied for it. Naruto was in class as he causally studied at his own pace. His concentration stopped when he overheard Negi saying that the class is going to have a cramming session. The class suggested in some entertaining way of studying where Negi thought it was good idea.

In the all the confusion, Naruto had a very entertaining show where Asuna, Yue, Makie, Ku Fei and Kaede were stripped from their clothes as the class played Yakyuken, a form of strip poker where they used English questions.

It was till Negi saw what happened after he examined his grade book to see that the 5 girls in question were already in their underwear. Negi asked on what's happening where they explained about the game. It wasn't till Negi said that they forgotten that there was another guy in the room where they looked at Naruto, who waved back at them in the end, it was a very entertaining class period.

Morning

Naruto was eating breakfast with the rest of his class where at as he overheard Ayaka stating on hearing that Negi will get fired if class 2-A has the lowest marks again. The class rep immediately started to get things in order so that Negi can stay but her and everyone's concerns suddenly grew when Haruna and Nodoka came rushing into the dorms cafeteria where they told everyone on what happened to Negi and the baka rangers.

"Negi-sensei and the Baka rangers have gone missing!" Haruna stated to everyone

Naruto looked at them and wonder on what's going to happen in the next couple of days.

Monday

Test day arrived were everyone went over a small, last minute cramming session. As the students got ready, Negi or the baka rangers and Library club members aren't in class.

"The bell has just rang! Where the heck are those five girls!?" Questioned Ayaka as she looked at everyone for an answer, yet they didn't. It was around this time that a substitute teacher came in to begin the test.

As they prepared to take it, Ayaka grew worried since the missing scores of both the baka rangers and the library club members would devastate them. Thankfully, the twins spotted the missing classmates, and Negi, running towards the school.

Since they were late in coming to the test, they were seated in an empty classroom where they would take their test. Before they left to take their test, Negi wished them the best of luck while also blaming himself for losing a book. They ignored it and thanked him for tutoring them.

Later

It was early afternoon as the classes were given free recess so the school can announce the class. Everyone in class 2-A were waiting with nervous anticipation as the scores for the finals were coming up. They were nervous since if they failed then Negi would be fired and sent back home. After a couple of minutes, the test results were now about to begin.

The announcer took her place up on the podium where she began to reveal the test results.

"The average for second year was 73.4! Well then, let's unveil the class grades! In first place… 2nd year class, class 2-f with an average of 80!" she announced where class 2-A were let down because they didn't reach first place.

The announcer continued to reveal each class from the top score to the bottom score. As the class names began to wear down, class 2-A were really getting nervous, especially Negi, since if their name doesn't, even more now since the announcer was at the last two classes.

"For the booby prize… uh… let's see… with an average score of 69.5… class 2-K" the announcer cheerfully announced to the school.

Naruto, standing near the entrance way of the building where the score announcer was speaking, looked on as his classmates had a pale look of shock of finding out on what just happened. He knew that Negi's job was at stake where he couldn't but feel sorry for him. He looked to see that Negi was secretly leaving. He guess that the kid wanted to be alone for a bit and start packing his stuff. He decided to go where he believe the boy would go so he can have a decent conversation with him before he goes home.

Late afternoon

Reaching the train station, Negi had this sad look on his face for not completing his assignment or having the chance to become a great mage. As he got towards the main entrance he stopped as he looked to see that in front of him was Naruto, leaning on the wall with his arms crossed and eyes closed.

Negi approached closer to the metro station when Naruto began to talk to him.

"So, is this were you're going to stop for your teaching career or are you going to continue to move forward and become a great prof?" Naruto asked

"I don't actually know the answer to that yet… since…" Negi admitted to the older blond since this experience was something new for him.

"You're still just a kid. It's understandable that you want to run away or something like that. In fact I did a few times but…" Naruto explained as he got Negi's full attention, "… I realized something a long time ago. If you keep run away from your problems, then you won't be able to stop. If you keep pushing back against it instead then you'll be able to get through it one way or another." He finished

"I can understand on what you mean, but what task here is over which means that my own goals are over as well." Negi confessed

"Well it might be over for this part of your journey but you can always try something else since you're still young. You should try, try, and try again until you can't try anymore. If you want something, then keep pushing forward and don't let anything stop you." Naruto stated before uncrossing his arms to reveal he had two can soft drinks.

"Since I can't stop your decision and you're leaving in a somewhat honorable way, without making a fuss out of it, the least I should do is share one drink with you as your somewhat male role model now." Naruto remarked as he handed Negi one of two orange flavor soft drinks.

Negi smiled at the gesture where they both drank the soft drinks. It was around this time that they both heard Asuna calling out the young redhead's name.

"Negi!" The redhead yelled at him where she panted a bit as she reach the two young men, "I… I'm sorry! I'm really sorry! It was all because of us! Because we failed the final exam! Because I threw away the magic book! Because I…" Asuna started to explain herself but stopped when Negi interrupted her.

"No… that's not true… it's no one's fault." Negi started off as Asuna listened to the young boy in front of her. "It wasn't right to use something like a magic book anyway. In the end, I'm still not qualified to be a teacher." Negi stated

He explained to Asuna about how thankful he is to have met everyone in class 2-A, even if it was for a short time. Before Asuna could say anything to him, Negi turned around and started to run towards the train.

Before he could even get three steps, Negi was lifted into the air by Naruto, who held him by his collar, where he brought him closer to his face.

"Don't you know it's rude to run away from a lady while she is still talking to you?" Naruto remarked as he gently place him back on the floor.

Asuna came up to him where she held him close to her as well. Before he could reason with them, Negi heard Asuna telling him on how she felt about him, how she admired him for trying to reach a goal with everything he has.

It was then that the three heard calls coming from behind them. They turned to see that it was the rest of the baka rangers and members of the library club. Negi was attempting to run away from them, since he doesn't want to see them like this but he trip as Naruto put his foot out where he fell flat on his face.

"Kyaa, Negi-kun… are you alright?" Makie asked as they all saw him fall to the floor.

All of the girls came to Negi's side as they help him up as well as telling them on how mean it was for him to run away like that except Konoka who berated Naruto for making him trip on the floor like that.

"Negi-kun, let's go talk it over with the principle one more time, Ok?" Konoka suggested turning her attention away from Naruto to Negi.

As the girls tried to convince Negi to stay while trying to throw ideas around that could help, they overheard someone call out to them.

"Hoho, I couldn't help but overhear someone calling for me."

Everyone turned to see that it was Principle Konoe, standing in front of them. Before any of them could argue to him about letting Negi stay, the headmaster looked at the young redheaded boy with an apologetic look.

"Ah, I must apologize to you Negi-kun… actually, I was the one who marked the late comers and I completely forgot to add them up with the rest of 2-A."

This surprised everyone as they couldn't believe that there was still test scores that haven't been added into their class. They then wondered if their test scores would be enough to take 2-A out of dead last.

The principle decided to give them their test scores where he told him in order, from the baka rangers to the library club.

Sasaki Makie: 66 Ku Fei: 67 Nagase Kaede: 63 Ayase Yue: 63

Saotome Haruna: 81 Miyazaki Nodoka: 95 Konoka Konoe: 91

"And finally Kagurazaka Asuna… 71! You should be proud of yourself!" the principle stated where Asuna couldn't believe that she score such a passing grade.

It was then that they realized with the scores they have, then they know that they aren't the last in the test scores. Back at the academy, all the students saw the new score for class 2-A where it was 3 points higher than the top rank class which meant that class 2-A is the top class of the year.

At the metro station, all the girls were cheering among themselves as they overheard on how they were able to put their class to number one. As they cheered, Negi wondered how the class got such a high G.P.A. without the magic book.

"Oh~ you mean this thing?" the principle said as he held the magic book up where Negi and Asuna, who stood behind him, were surprise to see that the principle had it. The principle explained to Negi that the book didn't make anyone smarter along with others things the young redhead and the girls experience on Library Island.

It was around this time that Negi overheard a bit of the conversation that old man Konoe was speaking where he then spotted the magic book.

"Hey old man…" getting everyone's attention, "… why are you holding onto that old book?" questioned Naruto

"Oh, this was just something that Negi and the girls went to pick up in Library Island to help them with the studies." Konoe answered where Naruto looked carefully at it.

"Hm~ that's the so-called magic book, isn't it?" Naruto wondered where Konoe nodded where Naruto then said, "Well if the girls really needed it, and they could have just come to me since I have a copy of the book in my room." Naruto admitted to them.

Old Konoe chuckled at Naruto's statement as he saw both the shock faces of Asuna and Negi since they went through all those booby traps when they could have just asked Naruto. It was then that Negi brought up the question.

"Wait? You mean you had a copy of the book all this time. But that impossible since there is only one book." Negi stated

"That's true but since I grew up in Mahora Academy, I explored all of Library Island when I much younger then you. In fact, I found that book when I was around 7 years old. Many, the place the book was in looked like the final round of a video game or something. Any who, I just took pictures from cover to cover with all the information in it." Naruto stated with a smile where Negi looked surprise.

Before anything else could be said, old Konoe got Negi and Asuna's attention about Negi's test.

"The final test for you was to see if you could act like a teacher, even if it meant your downfall. You did well on helping your students, so it wasn't a surprising to see you make it to the top class of the year." Headmaster Konoe explained where he then told Negi that he passed where Negi was pleased to hear.

Asuna smiled as she petted Negi's head about how Negi wouldn't leave Mahora, "Well… anyways, I'll be looking forward to having you teach next term!" which Negi also agreed

Everyone there were happy to hear that Negi was now a full fledge teacher where everyone decided to have a party to celebrate. As everyone was going to celebrate, Naruto can't help but wonder one thing, when will his mother begin to make her move on Negi?

Sorry if this story is filled with cannon version of Negima, but the story won't pick up right away. It will move smoothly and naturally where the story won't make any progress until the Evangeline arc.
