Date 5: ShoutaxAmi
"Target has reached point C210," Shouta whispered into his walkie-talkie.
"Roger that. What's your distance?"
Shouta readied his gun, aiming carefully. "Approximately ten meters. Eight now."
"Are you hidden?"
"Perfectly, sir."
"Time until impact?"
"Target has stopped moving. Impact could occur in less than a minute." He gasped suddenly. "Target is on the move! Permission to fire?"
"Permission granted."
"Firing!"

Ritsuko will never understand just why Shouta was hiding behind her desk.
Nor will she understand why he blasted her with a stream of water and then immediately ran off shouting, "TARGET ANNIHILATED. MISSION COMPLETE."
But she did have the slightest inkling that somehow, one of the twins was involved.

Outside, a safe distance away from the building, Shouta and Ami shouldered their weapons and shared a high five.
"Good work, soldier," Ami said gruffly. "You've made your country proud."
Shouta saluted with a wink. "Anything for you, captain."
They grinned at each other.
"So," Shouta leaned forward, examining the camera in Ami's hands, "you got it right?"
"Every second," Ami assured him. "Hehe, I can't wait to see the look on Ricchan's face the moment you came out!"
"It was pretty awesome," Shouta said, although truth be told he didn't actually remember it as his only concern had been shooting and getting away.
Ami looked delighted. "Shou-kun can actually be kind of cool sometimes, huh?"
"What do you mean kind of?" Shouta put on a face of mock offense. "I'm always super cool. I'm the coolest in Jupiter, in fact."
"Ho~ is that so? Us 765 Pro idols have a natural wariness against those in 961, you know, so we might not be so inclined to think so."
Shouta paused. Her words sounded heavy enough but the lightness of her tone implied that she was only teasing. Still, he didn't want to be an idiot and just ignore whatever it was she might've meant.
"It's not like you're our only prey," he said casually, turning and beginning to walk down the street. A moment later, Ami followed. "There're tons of idols out there. The fact that we're giving you so much special attention means we actually consider you a threat, don't you think?"
Ami arched an eyebrow. "Well, 765 Pro are the main characters, so really aren't you guys the threat?"
"Hey, what if I think I'm the main character here?" Shouta asked playfully.
"Shou-kun would be wrong, of course," Ami teased back. "In fact!" She struck a dramatic pose. "We should have a showdown! Ryuugu Komachi versus Jupiter, the ultimate idol fight!"
Shouta grinned, waving his arms in the air. "Whoaa! Like a brawl?"
"It could totally be a brawl! Azusa-oneechan could definitely take all of you guys with her boobs alone!"
"Ehe, I admit Hokuto might fall for that, but I'm too tough for such backhanded tactics," Shouta boasted.
"Hmm~?" Ami suddenly moved closer, draping her arms around Shouta's shoulders and leaning in so that their foreheads touched. "What if Ami turned her sexy levels to the max?"
Oh crap oh crap oh crap oh crap be smooth whatever it takes be smooth you can do it oh god just please be smooth.
"Touma might not survive," Shouta replied, amazed that his voice hadn't cracked yet. "But I think you're underestimating what a hot piece of ass I am."
Although scattered throughout the city, every 765 Pro idol above the age of fifteen suddenly had the urge to shout, You guys are like, twelve!
"Ami is underage," Ami said as though she had somehow heard her friends' concerns, "so you'd better treat her well." She winked.
Shouta smirked. "I always know how to treat a lady."
Although scattered throughout the city, the other two Jupiter idols suddenly had the urge to strangle their youngest member.
In any case, the two young idols' attention was diverted when they realized there was an arcade across the street. As though of one mind, they immediately broke out into a run.
"Challenge you to a racing game, Shou-kun!"
"Bring it! I can take on anything!"
/~/~/
"You totally crashed into me on purpose!"
"Did not!"
/~/~/
"Aghhh these crane games are completely rigged."
"Maybe you just suck at them, Shou-kun."
"Shut up."
/~/~/
"You know what I could really use right now?"
"What, good sir, could you really use right now?"
"I could really use a cheeseburger right now."
"What a coincidence, I could really use a cheeseburger right now, too!"
"You don't say!"
"Suppose we go over and buy some cheeseburgers?"
"A fantastic idea, if I do say so myself."
/~/~/
"Hey, a picture booth. Wanna try it out?"
"I didn't know Shou-kun had such a soft heart that he would even want pictures to commemorate his first date~"
"Hmph, I just thought you might like to have proof that you were on such an awesome date with the super cool Mitarai Shouta."
"Oh? How considerate."
"I always am."
/~/~/
"SKEE BALL!"
"SKEE BALLLLLLLLL!"
/~/~/
"You know what I could really use right now?"
"What, my lady, could you really use right now?"
"I could really use a hot dog right now."

Six hours of gaming later, they finally left the arcade, eyes spinning and bellies full of junk food.
"I totally won more games than you," Ami burped.
"Like hell. I beat you at the shooting one."
"Well, I beat you at the dancing one."
"Well, I beat you at air hockey."
"Barely! Time ran out just as I was about to score a point!"
Shouta waved a hand dismissively. "Still counts as my win. But," he offered Ami a pen and piece of paper, grinning widely, "I'd be happy for a rematch. Name and number, and I'll call you up whenever I have a break from my busy schedule."
"Uh huh?" Ami arched an eyebrow but took the materials regardless. "Ryuugu Komachi is pretty busy too, but I'll see if I have time to squeeze you in, if I feel like it." She scribbled down the information and handed it back, tongue sticking out. "We'll have to figure out a time for the brawl, too," she added.
Smiling, Shouta held up two fingers in a peace sign. "Sounds like a date."
Well... It hasn't actually technically really been 2 years yet... Ehehe... Computer's fixed though (has been for a while but shhh life is a thing too)
Um... I guess I... don't really have any excuses at the moment. Not to mention this was a pathetically short chapter anyway (I didn't have any ideas please don't hate me). But I mean, it's going. I would like to thank all of the reviewers who offered kind words and motivation during the almost-2-year period of hiatus this fic was on! It truly means a lot to me!
If anyone has any ideas they'd like to submit for the next date, please feel free to do so!
Next Date: ToumaxMiki
