Chapter 11: Weekend Adventures

*Edward*

Damn. Emmett scored on this one. Too bad she was blind. She wouldn't be able to stay away. But that's okay. She will come around. I would hang around her awhile. See if I couldn't catch some thoughts.

I watched as Alice brought her back to the sitting room. She had amazing curves. What I wouldn't do to get ahold of that backside.

"Best to keep your eyes to yourself Edward. I am warning you now. Stay away from her. She don't need you messing with her."

I chuckled. "Don't worry, Emmett. I won't have to stay away."

I could hear him cussing me in his head. I just laughed. I walked into the room with everyone else and sat beside Bella.

"Hello, Bella. I'm Edward. We didn't get to meet properly." I placed my hand on her knee when she turned to me.

"Hello, Edward. Nice to meet you. Although I would appreciate you keeping your hands off me. I'm not a girl to be pawed on."

She pushed my hand away and turned back to Alice and Esme. I could hear Emmett and Jasper chuckling behind me. I decided to try again. I sat closer to her and whispered in her ear.

"I could give you more than Emmett. He's dangerous. I on the other hand am very gentle."

"Excuse me ladies. What makes you think I would be interested in you? I've heard stories about you. If I was into the bad boy type I might be falling all over you. I'm not. Emmett is way better than you. At least he didn't have to try and paw all over me and say negative things about others to get me to like him. I may be blind but I will tell you don't think that has hindered my combat skills in any way. I was trained with the best by the best. If you touch me again I will hurt you."

"You hurt me? Yeah, okay. You couldn't touch me." Before I knew it, I was pinned down my arm behind my back.

"Want to take that back?"

"Edward, I believe that is enough. You leave her alone now before your brother gets ahold of you." Carlise said.

"Fine." I ran out of the house and into the woods. No blind human girl was going to treat me that way.

*Emmett*

Damn. My girl could hold her own. Edward almost lost his head until I saw Bella pin him. How she did it I don't know. But it was hot.

"Damn girl. That was awesome!"

"Sorry bout that. I just couldn't stand him doin that."

"Hey. No problem. About time he got set straight. What I wabt to know is darlin' how you managed to pin a vampire much stronger than you." Jasper said curious.

"Well I was trained to attack without the other person knowin. Guess I caught him off guard."

"That was very impressive. I must say they taught you well." Jasper replied.

"Well, enough of that. How about we play some video games?" I asked.

"You and your games." Bella laughed.

"Hey, what can I say?"

Everyone laughed. I brought out the system and Alice, Jasper and myself began playing while Bella listened. Esme left to cook Bella food while we lounged. I haven't had this much fun in a long time with my family. I think Bella really is going to bring us together.

After almost two hours, Esme calls Bella to eat. I help her into the kitchen and onto the bar stool.

"Wow. This smells so good. What have you been in here making?" Bella asked sniffing the air.

"Oven roasted chicken breast with fresh sauteed veggies, broccoli rice and cheese casserole and yeast rolls."

"Okay, how did you know that I loved this stuff?"

"Let's just say Em pays attention despite what the others thinks." Esme smiled.

"Really? Well, looks like you might be a keeper after all."

I couldn't help but laugh. Small talk went on between Esme and Bella while she ate. Bella talked to Esme about what her likes were, how much she enjoyed home cooked meals and how her dwindled relationship with her mother was. I could tell how much Esme wanted to take her under her wing. I knew Bella would let her come the time.

"Esme, that was delicious. If it wasn't for dad, I'd move in. For someone who doesn't eat human food, you sure can cook."

"Thank you, Bella. I have dessert as well. Chocolate turtle soufle."

"Jeez you're going to make me fat." She laughed.

"Nah, don't think that's possible." I chuckled.

After she finished eating, we lounged in the den awhile longer, watching movies. Bella mimiking most of them. About midnight she excused herself to get ready for bed. I walked her to her room to make sure she didn't trip up the stairs.

"I'm glad you invited me this weekend. I'm already having a good time. I can't wait for tomorrow."

"Me too. Get some sleep. I'm sure Esme will have a big breakfast ready for you."

"That woman." She giggled. "Goodnight, Emmett."

"Night Bella. Sweet dreams." I leaned down and gently kissed her lips. I watched her walk into her room and shut the door.

"How sweet."

"Leave her alone, Edward. I will be watching you."

"I won't mess with her."

He walked downstairs and out of sight. I sat outside of her room for a few hours before I left to feed. Something about Edward just wasn't right

*Bella*

The next morning a delightful smell hit me. I stretched out across the huge bed before going to the bathroom. I liked having my own bathroom. It was big. I relieved myself before turning on the shower. I stepped in and relaxed under the water. I quickly washed my hair then my body, taking a moment to shave my legs. When I was done, I wrapped the towel around me and walked back into my room. I dug out my undergarments and slipped them on. Then I put on a pair of yoga pants and a tank then slipped into my Nikes.

"Bella?"

"Come in."

"Mornin' darlin'. Esme has breakfast ready for you."

I was braiding my hair as Jasper came in. "I'm almost done. I'll be right down."

"How would you feel about showin me some of them moves you learned while in training? I was once in the war a long time ago. I'd like to learn what they teah now days."

"I think I can do that. Just be prepared for a butt kickin."

"I doubt that."

Jasper and I laughed as we walked down the stairs. "Smells good in here."

"Thank you. I made eggs, bacon, hotcakes and home made buscuits."

"All for me? Esme."

"No. You need a good breakfast if you're going to fight with Jasper today."

"Okay. If you say so." I ate happily at the food that was cooked. After I eat, everyone went out into the back yard to watch Jasper and I.

"Now, Emmett and Carlisle will be on one end of the field to stop you and Alice and Esme on the other. Just to make sure you don't get to far. Are you ready?"

"Kick his ass Bella!" I hear Em scream.

"Bring it on."

I tuned myself in to everything around me. I heard swift movements from my left so I ducked down to the ground and swiftly swung my foot around. I heard a thud beside me.

"Very good. Let's see if you can stop this." Jasper swung at me and I quickly blocked, immediatly feeling a bruise popping up.

We went on for an hour or so just fooling around. Jasper managed to sneak attack me a few times before we took a break.

"Hell yeah! My girlfriend is a badass!" Emmett said as he picked me up.

"That she is. That was amazing Bella. Who knew a human could take on a vampire that way." Carlisle replied.

"I didn't know I could either. Jasper sure is a great fighter."

"Thank you, ma'am."

"I have an idea. How about after Bella rests awhile we go on a hike? We haven't done it as a family in awhile." Alice asked, excitedly.

"Ali, I don't think Bella can take mich more today." Emmett piped in.

"Like hell I can't. I walked hundreds of miles in heavy hot clothing and boots carrying heavy sacks on my back in blistering heat. One fight won't stop me from hiking."

"Yes ma'am."

I could hear Jasper behind me making whipping sounds at Emmett. I couldn't help but laugh. "Now, anyone have hiking boots I could borrow?"

"I do. Come on, lets go get changed." Alice said taking my arm.

Alice and I quickly changed before meeting the rest downstairs. Emmett handed me my backpack and took my hand. We walked up and down hills and rocks for the next few hours. The sounds around me were great. I was beginning to enjoy being with the Cullens. Very much so.

Our weekend was too soon over come Sunday. I didn't want to leave. Esme made me a wonderful lunch before Emmett took me home.

"I've had a great time with you all. I can't wait to get back and do this again."

"It was a pleasure having you here. We will miss you." Esme said hugging me after her husband.

"See you later lil darlin. Take care of yourself." Jasper said giving me a side hug.

"I will. Bye Ali."

"Bye Bella. See you soon."

"Ready?" Emmett asked.

"Ready."

Emmett loaded us into his Jeep and we drove away. I was sad to be leaving so soon, but couldn't wait to see dad again. Yes, I definatley like the Cullens.
