Heyyyy. I don't know what to say here. Just...ignore me and look down, yes that's right. And read. I hope you'll enjoy those 1364 words of...my...own? Whatever ppl
He got up and walked to the doorframe. The door was made of solid wood; he didn't know who was behind them. His palm stopped right before the handle. He didn't know what was about to happen, but it surely won't be anything pleasing. He took a deep breath and opened the door.
"Hey Doc." It was Scout with Viktor's vest in his hand. Viktor smiled a little. In this moment Scout has been a smaller evil than anything else.
"Hello Scout, why did you come?" Medic said with slightly exhausted voice and looked at Scout's face. Young man's was looking worried and he wasn't wearing a cap what was very unusual for him. Scout shifted on his place, looked at the vest in his hand and then back at the doctor.
"Well, um, I came to bring you this from-eh- the suitcase room," He outstretched his hand with rumpled piece of clothing, "and to make some, eh, small talk…shall we?" Viktor swallowed and after some silence he spoke again.
"Sure Scout, come in."
"Mike."
"Huh?"
"M'name's Mike, not Scout." And he threw a questioning look to Viktor's direction as he was gesturing him to sit on a chair besides the table.
"Doc iz OK." He answered the unasked answer with a small smile. Young Bostonian shifted again and giggled quietly. It was impossible for him to stand still, so sitting in the chair was like a torture for him. Medic seated himself into a chair on the opposite side of the table, so it looked like a normal check in at doctor. After few minutes of silence that has been interrupted only by rustling of Mike's clothes the doctor asked.
"So, zhe small talk? What do you want Mike, don't waste my time please." The boy nodded eagerly and put his knees under his chin.
"The…thing that we saw in the passage…," Viktor pursed his lips and his eyes started to study the texture of his table like it was the most amazing thing in the world, "for how long has it been going?" Viktor lifted his eyes and pierced Mike with his gaze. Scout saw his scary gaze, but he didn't get scared.
"C'mon Doc, we're in the same shit together, you shouldn't make it harder." Viktor squeezed his lips a he hesitated whether to share some private information with his new ally, or stay quiet.
"Around four months." He muttered and looked at the lightboard that he used to scan X-rays. Mike broke into quiet laugh. Viktor raised his eyebrows.
"You sly fox. You got that stuff running for nearly half a year with nobody suspecting a thing! You're…you're good, man." Viktor snorted. Scout looked around the room. His fast head movements stopped just when he spotted the pile of suitcases in the corner of the room. His eyes jumped from the pile to Medic and back. They were always shifting, when he was realizing something.
"Are ya goin' somewhere, Doc?" He asked with a very serious tone in his voice, that was strongly contrasting with the tone he had just few seconds ago. Viktor was looking directly into Mike's eyes when he nodded. Scout's expression changed to shocked and his lips formed a mute 'Where?' Viktor sighed.
"Why should I tell you this? You are just draining information from me, how could I know that you are not some kind of spy?"Mike became offended a little. He got up from the chair and leaned against the table, closer to Medic than he considered as comfortable.
"Listen up and listen closely, right? Because I'm going to say this just once. The..person that I have been inside that bloody room with…I love 'em. And the part of that, the part that is most fucked up is, that it is strictly permitted to do..things like that. We just don't want to be…alone…in this business, right?" He sat back into the chair and calmed down a little bit. "Maybe you two wanted to be the only ones in this, to be unique, but now we have to cooperate. Cover each other's back y'know?...So please stop being a cold 'Mr.I-won't-tell-anyone' and collaborate for god's sake!" Medic took the words. It was a surprise for him. He knew that Scout could be fierce, but he never thought that he might ever say something that…touching and deep as that. He always seemed simple and careless. He nodded slowly.
"Allright then. I'll cooperate," He said with a small smile, but then his face became worried and serious, "Me and my…partner…we'll have to leave this place as fast as we'll be able to do." Mike nodded.
"And then? Where are you going after escaping?"
"Well, at first we'll have to figure out vhere we are. The only close building to this place iz a post office where they surely won't tell us the location," Mike nodded once more, and then silence took over the place.
"Who was that person in the room with you?" Now it was Medic's turn to ask. Scout's lips shifted and he was biting them from the inside. He was quiet and he sometimes looked at Medic.
"Dear Mike, few minutes ago you were talking about a mutual trust and now? Yes, you see, it's hard to talk about it, am I right?" The younger one threw his head on side and looked into Viktor's eyes.
"No, it ain't hard, but if I told you, you wouldn't recognize him if he walked past ya." Medic relied on his chair. He had two tips who it might be. But when Mike doesn't want to talk about it, whatever. He won't push him into it. It looks like it is hard for him, to confess and get used to that kind of relationship. Then they were quiet again, bonded in awkward silence.
"And what else do you want?" Mike licked his lips.
"I…I don't even know Doc. Me and Mi- I mean we thought that it would be good to, y'know, talk to you because, Doc, that face down there that ya made was so weird. Honestly, I didn't care so much but..they..thought that it would be better to go here and…yeah." He nodded and scratched his thin, boyish neck.
"Allright, Mike. Well ,it waz nice to talk to you," Medic got up from the chair, "but now I'd prefer you to go now, as you see, I have plenty of packing to do." He pointed at the cases with a smile. Mike smiled too; he was glad that he managed to talk to the doctor and make him smile. It was hard to get close to Viktor, he usually kept a big distance from other people. It was a good sign, the smile. Mike got up from the chair as well and made a beeline towards Medic's office door. He stopped at the threshold and looked at the German once.
"Well, if ya need anything, just say." Viktor smirked at Mike.
"Yes, I need that vest back." Mike looked at his hand. There was a cream colored cotton vest still rumpled and squeezed in his hand. Quiet laughs of embarrassment vibrated trough young man's chest and he threw the vest at Medic who caught it. Mike turned his back to Viktor and stepped out of his office. Then he stretched out his hand and it looked like he pointed at the ceiling.
"Ya know where to find me." Viktor chuckled and shook his head. That kid is so crazy.
Viktor put the last book into the suitcase and closed it. He stretched himself and left the case on the ground next to the others. He threw a shiny smile at Liam, who smiled back.
"Do we have everything ready?" Liam asked and Viktor nodded.
"Yes, everything. We can set up the action tomorrow." He said with a kind smile.
"Allright, we should go to sleep, we've got a lot of things to do tomorrow." Viktor nodded and let Liam to close him into a tight, reassuring embrace that they both fully enjoyed.
They didn't know that two other men, Spy and Soldier had exactly same conversation in the BLU base, the very same, minus the embrace.
