"Show them how much they really need you." came the malice thought in Danny's mind.
Ever since the Nasty Burger explosion that never happened, Danny got thoughts like these in his mind. All he could do was shake them off, but it was getting hard, as they kept coming more and more. He always wondered why they came up, and how he could stop them. He tried ignoring them, and he knew we couldn't give in to them, Jazz suggested he was getting depression, and to tell his parents. He knew that wouldn't work. He couldn't tell his parents. Jazz also suggested writing them down in some type of Journal, which seemed to work a little bit, but they where still getting worse.
Sometimes Danny wondered if he was becoming Dan, if he was becoming evil. He put that thought aside, he knew he could never become evil. He had promised.
Though, after Jazz asked his parents something, Danny was starting to worry.
His parents were working on some machine. One that would harm ghosts, again. His Dad was blabbering on about how it worked, and how he would use it to catch Phantom. Danny was listening intently, so he could avoid it, and maybe use it if necessary. It was a freeze gun, designed to freeze a ghost in his tracks. Danny thought back to Frostbite, and remembered how he turned Vlad into a literally frozen statue. He started smiling, which earned a we-need-to-talk-you-are-insane-glance from his sister. He noticed how Jazz was also very annoyed at his Dad for making this invention.
"Dad, how do you know it will even effect Phantom? How do you know Phantom's not actually trying to help?" Jazz asked annoyed.
Danny smiled slightly, glad his sister was always there to help him.
"All ghosts are evil, sweety." their Mom answered this time.
"But why? How are they evil? Human beings aren't evil, and all ghosts were once human, right?" Jazz augured back.
Danny felt like supporting Jazz. I mean, if it wasn't for Clockwork being good, then they would all be dead. And Danny's would be worse, he'd be evil.
"Is that such a bad thing?"asked one of those stupid thoughts Danny hated.
"Yes, yes it is,"he answered back to it.
"Wait, Jazzerinces, you mean we never told you?" asked Dad in disbelieve.
"Yeah, you never did. How exactly are all ghost evil, Dad?" said Danny, trying to hide the malice in his voice. Not all ghost are evil!
"It has to do with how they are made, kids. A ghost's core is what keeps it in existence. Many off them are formed due to negative energy mixing with ectoplasm. What makes most ghosts are the spirits of the dead attaching to a core. Sure, there mind could be filled with thoughts of butterflies and rainbows, but over time, as there core gets stronger, its harder and harder for a ghost to fight off the eviltendencies." Mom explained in her scientific tone of voice. Danny gulped.
"Mom, Dad, um, what if somehow, someone only half-died, and was only half-ghost? Would they still have a core, and would it still work the same?" Jazz asked. Danny almost face-palmed.
"Sweety, to even naturally be able to have ghost powers, they would need a ghost core! It doesn't matter if there human somehow, they would still have the evil of the ghost core."
Danny started sweating. "So, um, say we're still on the half-ghost theory. Would the hal-hybridexperience dark thoughts until it consumed them?"
"Well, Danny-boy, that's what happens to ghosts, so I'm sure it'll work the same for human beings. I'm glad you're showing an interest in ghosts!"
Danny and Jazz sharedconcerned glances, now knowing exactly why Danny was experiencing these dark thoughts.
"One day boy, one day soon. We will rule!"
