Chapter 16: Trouble Has Arrived.

*Bella*

I was anxious for Carlisle to finally get here. He was taking the bandages off today. I was still nervous. Suddenly, I began to feel calm. I knew it was Jasper so I smiled to let him know I felt it.

"Bella, are you ready?" Carlisle asked.

"Yes. Let's do this." I squeezed dad and Emmett's hand. I was glad to have these two with me through this.

I felt Carlisle begin to remove each bandage. I kept my lids closed as he said until they were fully off.

"Oh my goodness!"

"What is it?" Everyone asked together.

"I see light! I see light through my lids!"

"Good. Now, slowly open them. Not too fast."

I did as he said. I began seeing more light and blurs. I had my eyes fully open now, the blurs becoming clearer.

"Bella, can you follow my finger?" Carlisle moved his finger back and forth and I followed. "Very good. Can you tell me what and who is in the room?"

"I see flowers, my IV, I see my dad, you must be the tall one, Esme, who is absolutely gorgeous, and Jasper, very handsome." I turned my head to my left. I was speechless for a minute. Emmett was more beautiful than I imagined. "And Emmett. You, you look more beautiful than I pictured." I reached my hand to his cheek.

He met my hand with his. "Told you I was pretty cute." His smile, it was the biggest, and dimples to match.

"You have another visitor over here." I turned to the voice behind Carlisle.

"Edward. Nice to actually see you. I do say you are cute, but Emmett has you beat."

"Thanks." He smirked.

"Well Bella. I'm very pleased with how things are going. You still need to be here for more observation. I promise you can leave first thing in the morning."

"Thanks, doc. I'm just happy I can see again."

"Well, how about we all clear out and let Bella have time with Charlie." Esme said, ushering the others out.

"I'll be back in a little while." Emmett stood and kissed my cheek before he walked out.

"So, kid. How do I look?" Dad chuckled.

"Still the same, just more grey hair." I laughed. "You look good dad. Honest. I missed seeing your face."

He put my hand to his cheek. "I love you, kid. I'm happy you got your sight back." His face was sad.

"Dad. Just because I have my sight back, doesn't mean I will leave you. After all you have done for me? I could never repay you."

"You don't have to. Its what a father does for his child. I'd miss you if you left."

"I'd miss you, too. I promise, I'm not going anywhere. Not for a long time." I smiled and kissed his head.

"I know you want time with Emmett. I'll let you two have time so you can look at him."

"Dad." I blushed.

Dad kissed my head and left the room. A few minutes later, Emmett walked in.

"Hey. So, enjoyin your ability to see again?" Emmett walked in and sat by my bed.

"I am. I finally get to see the man who stole my heart." I reached up and stroked his cheek. "You are so perfect."

His hand covered mine and moved my palm to his lips. "No. You're the perfect one. With or without your sight."

I smiled. A thought hit me. "You know, I did say a while back how I was goin to kick our butt at Gears of War."

"Oh, its so on when you get out of here. I don't think you could beat me at a game I'm a master at."

"Okay, we'll see." I smirked.

Dad came back in the room a few minutes later. "Bells, I have to get back. They just called and said they have been having trouble around town. I trust Emmett to take care of you and bring you home."

"Okay dad. Thank you for being here."

"Of course. I'll see you tomorrow, kid." He leaned down and kissed my head before he left the room.

"Well, Hulk. Looks like it's just me and you. Where is everyone?"

"Jasper is hunting, Esme is making sure you and Charlie's place is tidy and Carlisle is doing his doctor stuff."

"Is my laptop here?"

Em nodded and leaned over the bed and picked up my big case. I opened it and started it up.

"I added some new pictures to it. Some that had been taken while you was still blind." Em whispered.

I was anxious to see everything. All the pictures from my time with the guys and what new ones Em put on it. I opened the first files. War shots.

Em sat and watched with me as I set it to slideshow mode. I rememered everything. I couldnt help the tears that filled my eyes when my shots of the guys came around. I gave a choked laugh at the one of the four of us. Yeah, I missed them.

When those were done, I switched to the next file. Cullen family adventures. I set it to slideshow and laughed. Em put great pictures on here. Me and Alice. Jasper and I wrestling. Esme and Carlisle. My favorite on was of Emmett and I. We were hiking that day. He had his arm around me and we were standing in front of the mountains. His lips were at my temple. I had the biggest smile on my face.

"These are great, Em. I really love this one of us."

"Me, too. That's why its my background on my laptop and phone. Oh, that reminds me, your dad helped me get other pictures for this. Look."

He opened a file named Bella. There were pictures of me with dad, Billy, and the one of me with my fish.

"Thanks, Em."

"You're welcome."

I leaned my head up and he met me in a kiss. That night we sat up watching tv and talking. I was beginning to like this. Alot.

I was happy to be leaving the hospital. Emmett had already loaded my things into the Jeep and we were waiting on Carlisle.

"Okay, all set. Here are your papers to sign and some eye drops to help ease any discomfort for awhile."

I signed the papers and put the drops in my bag. "Thank you, Carlisle. You don't know how great this is."

"My pleasure. You mean alot to Emmett, so you also mean alot to me and Esme. If you should need me, just call and I will come to you."

"Okay. I may just have Hulk here bring me back to your place so I can actually see what your house and land look like."

"Sounds fine. Em, be careful."

"I will. I will."

Carlisle nodded to Emmett before leaving the room. We left the hospital and headed for Forks. I couldn't help but smile as the scenery passed by. It had been a very long time since I seen it all.

"I'm going to drop you off then I have to go hunt, but I'll come back when I'm done."

"Okay." I simply nodded. I was to entranced with what was going on outside.

We finally made it to the house. It looked just like I remembered. I couldn't help the smile on my face as I walked in. Dad had hung pictures of me up around the place. From when I was a baby up until now.

"I'll be back in a bit. I love you."

"Okay. I love you."

With a kiss, Em left. I put my things in my room and walked around, re- memorizing every detail. As I was looking at things in the living room, there came a knock at the door. I opened it to see a slinder, pixie like girl.

"Hello, Bella." She smiled.

"Alice?" She nodded. "Wow. You look amazing."

"Thank you. Can I come in?"

"Yeah. Come on in." I moved out from in front of the door to let her pass. She walked into the living room and took a seat on the couch.

"What brings you by?"

"Bella, look, I came to let you know that Emmett's ex girlfriend is back. She has done ben to see him. She wants him to come back to her. He is hesitant to be with her again. I know you love him, but you need to let him go. Rosalie will stop at nothing to have Emmett."

I sat for a moment taking in what she said. "Alice, I'm glad you came by. Em has told me about her. He loves me and I'm not leaving him. I thought you were all for us being together, now his ex comes back and you expect me to just give him up? I don't think so."

"Bella, I was for it, until I realized Rose was blindsided by her guy and wants to be a part of the family again. She's my sister."

Alice was getting me upset now. What made her think I would give up my Emmett so easily? I stood up and walked towards the door amd opened it.

"Im sorry, Alice. It's not going to happen. She can try all she wants. She's not getting him back. If you will please leave now."

"Don't say I never warned you. She will have him back. You cant stop her. After all, you are human." With that, Alice walked out.

I slammed the door shut behind her. There is no way I'm letting him go. I will only let go if I'm dead.
